This restaurant exceeded my expectations! The setup for our group was perfect, and the food was amazing. We tried the pukka chaat and the chicken 65, both highly recommended dishes. For the main course, the garlic naan, butter chicken, and daal makhni were exceptional, some of the best I've had in the entire city. The ambiance was lovely. Overall, a five-star experience!

One of the best restaurants in the city! I absolutely loved the food and the ambiance. The service was great too. It's a fantastic place, perfect for family outings and get-togethers. Don't miss out on trying the Chicken 65 and Butter Chicken – they're a must-try and totally delicious! Overall, I highly recommend this place for a delightful dining experience.

Pukka is one of our favourite restaurants in Toronto. Too bad we no longer live in the area or we would be here far more often as all of their food is exceptionally delicious. The price tag here is worth what you get.

Stuffed Paneer - do yourself a favour and order this
Lamb Lollipops - this was a standout the last time
Okra Fries - will convince even those of you who hate okra

*Dal Makhani - please order this in the full portion! It's sneakily tucked away in their "sides" menu, but it serves as another main dish and this is my personal FAVOURITE dish, hands down. I could eat this everyday for the rest of my life.

Aside from that, we find their Butter Chicken a little on the sweet side but it's still a solid one. There are many dishes here that we haven't tried yet and can't wait to!

The menu at Pukka is a tantalizing blend of traditional Indian flavors infused with a contemporary twist. Each dish I sampled was a masterful display of culinary expertise, bursting with vibrant colors and exquisite flavors. The attention to detail in the presentation was commendable, elevating the overall dining experience. Definitely the BEST.

Great place that serves wonderful Indian cuisine unafraid to be creative and imaginative. We started with fried ochra and kale salad. They very delicious and the rite portion size. We have enjoyed butter chicken and mushroom stuffed paneer for the main course. Separate mention about naan, which was literally the best one I had this year. While the food was superb I have to give it for stars because butter chicken sauce was just average.

For the atmosphere of going advice and beyond which you place definitely embodies with it's menu, I expected something more. Even bon appetit butter chicken recipe beats this hands down, while being fairly traditional in it's spices use.

Pukka has very good selection of wines and won't disappoint for a dessert or cocktail menu.

All in all this is a great place that I highly recommend to those in the mood for a high quality Indian cuisine.

Amazing experience, amazing food, amazing Customer service. We visited this place last week. This was our very 1st visit and we were overwhelmed with the service. Being an Indian we were excited to experience this Indian fusion food and luckily we had a chance to have a quick chat with Mr. Harsh the owner of the restaurant and he shared the story behind this concept which definitely reflected in every dish served there.
Beautiful ambience. Definitely recommended for date nights as well highly appreciated this service.

Most of all, I was impressed by the service. The owner/manager was on the floor all evening and very involved with the staff + each table. Our server was so great! (I regret not getting their name but they looked like a black man not sure how they identify.) They checked in with us often, got us everything we needed right away, not overbearing. 11/10 to this server.

Inconsistent service!
Visited second time recently, felt more like any other place in terms of average service and food quality. Had high expectations from our first visit. $60 wine tasted like a very cheap quality white.

The core of Indian Snacks is Chaat. They should learn how to make Chaat. They have no clue. And also learn how to make masala Chai or tea

I've been many times as it's one of our favourite Indian restaurants in the city. The food is really, really good. Specifically the chicken 65 (a must order) and the chicken tikka. The gunpowder prawns are also quite tasty. The dishes are on the small-moderate portion sizing but the flavours are great! The owner almost always comes around during the meal just the check in which is always appreciated. It's a great spot and highly recommend it.

Back again! Dining room this time and everything was superb. That chicken 65…outrageously delicious. The chaat is also superb.

We ordered food for house party for 10-15. We ordered food based on the rating. The food was beyond expectation.
It was delicious.
Macroni makhani was a hit. Finger licking good. Finished in few minutes. A must to order if you have vegetarian friends.
We also ordered Veg Biryani that was really good too.

We got absolutely rinsed at Pukka. As others have mentioned, ridiculously overpriced. Butter chicken was bland as can be and the rice had no seasoning.

Service was 10/10. Samosa the best in my Life (the Mint chutney Is Crazy). And the green curry

I’m a regular at Copper Chimney (literal best) and decided to try out pukka pukka. I ordered butter chicken, basmati rice, garlic naan and mango chutney. The order was over priced for what was received. The butter chicken was very bland with minimal flavour, basically tasted like cream sauce with some seasoning. The rice was bland, usually Indian restaurants provide spiced rice and as per the picture that is was I expected - this was not received. The garlic naan was probably the best tasting thing I got, but for 5$ I expected a whole piece of naan and not 3 pieces. Finally, the mango chutney was far from what you expect when you order a chutney. It was liquid and tasted like artificial mango sauce that you get on ice cream. Insanely disappointed and shows me to stick the the good stuff at copper chimney.

We ordered take out to feed 6 people, it came out to around $165 in total. The naan was so disappointing! They were flat, not fluffy at all and gummy to chew through. The butter chicken, while delicious, wasn't worth $25 in my opinion. The chicken 65 was fried well and the flavours were good. Overall, would say the hype that this is THE best Indian food in Toronto can't be true. Won't be returning but glad I tried it.

Great vibes. Even better food! We are super grateful to have such a beautiful restaurant in this community. From take-out to dine in, Pukka is a beautiful experience within the city and is very accessible. Enjoy their menu and follow your curiosity. The taste and quality of food will for sure impress. You get to the point where placing an order is hard because you want 2-4 more items than you probably need. What a good problem to have.

Excellent food and great service. Had the short rib and lamb pops. Naan was great also. Very tasty cocktails. Service could have been faster.

I'm giving 5 stars despite the fact that they charged for chutney and didn't pack it for us - Holy heck first time and it was off the chain! Everything was delicious. Service was excellent. Bartender came by to create a special cocktail for me. We got the duck, short rib, prawn and fish, pumpkin curry, mint chutney, a side add on of onions and chilis and limes for seasoning, steamed rice, naan, and the chili ginger chocolate torte with raspberry sorbet for dessert. Came in to around $220 before tip. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. The presentation was gorgeous, I'm not a good photographer but the pics should show it despite my bad photography (all the better photos were taken by my husband)

Delicious vegan-friendly Indian food. The staff took my allergies seriously and we’re helpful in recommending delicious dishes. This place will impress and satisfy all dietary choices. Amazing food!

Just been there once, and fell in love with the food. The A class service and a great ambience makes it a must go. The food has a modern twist to Indian classics, and would definitely visit again for their dark chocolate chai.

Great meal with friends on a Monday night, beautifully served. And quite reasonably priced as well. We filled up on the shared appetizers and found splitting main courses more than enough food.

How have I not reviewed Pukka yet? Simply put; the best Indian food in Canada. Forget about anywhere else. Pukka. It's more upscale than most Indian restaurants in Toronto, but is worth every penny. I know butter chicken is a cliche but Pukka's is unique and phenomenal.

I've eaten at Pukka a few times and have always enjoyed it. This review is for their takeout/delivery. Although the Pukka chaat isn't close to as good as in person, I appreciated the instruction card and separate sauces to make it. The puffed rice component was soggy, so maybe a separate bag away from any moisture would work. However, the stuffed paneer and daal was better and larger portions than I remembered it. I would absolutely order delivery from Pukka again.

Fantastic Indian food. An amazing place that you can sit and have a great dinner with family, friends, or on a date. Each dish has a unique flavour profile, with the fish curry more light and coconut based and the lamb curry complimenting the medallions beautifully. Get the Chaat, it’s a perfect way to start. A regular for when we feel like a curry!

Love this place! It was our first time and we will certainly be back! The butter chicken was delish, the paneer was very different - you need to LOVE spinach and mushrooms, if you do - you’ll really enjoy it. The service was outstanding!

As always everything was exceptional. My family and I have been dining here for years and there's a reason why it's one of our favourite restaurants in the city. Meghan was wonderful throughout the night, extremely warm, friendly and attentive. We were there for a birthday, our party was filled with so much goodness. We're still talking about the lamb lollipops and the rice pudding.

I didn't try the food as my son got sick and I had to leave immediately. They were extremely accommodating and empathic to the situation. Really great on the restaurant to do so during these difficult times as I imagine it hasn't been easy for them. Management and service 10/10. Can't wait to try their food.

First time here on Saturday night. What an exceptional dining experience. Food was incredible, all of it. Service was the best. Immensely impressed with this restaurant that before Saturday I didn’t know existed. Wow.

Got the butter chicken. Sauce was some of the best I've ever tasted. Unfortunately the chicken was very dry. Little disappointed considering the high price. Hopefully it was just this one time thing.

Toronto has many very good Indian restaurants but none reach the level of Pukka in my opinion. We had an outstanding experience in every regard. The food puts a modern twist on classic Indian flavors. Wanting to try several dishes from the very creative menu, we stayed with starters and sides. A great decision because the starters are large enough to be mains anywhere else. We went with Poppadoms, Gunpowder Prawns, Chicken 65, Jeera Aloo, Okra Fries, and French Beans. Every dish was excellent, but the Gunpowder Prawns and Jeera Aloo were next level. The service was friendly and efficient and the space is comfortable and modern. I can’t recommend Pukka more highly, the best Indian food in Toronto, hands down!

Seated promptly and asked for drink orders as we settled. Had the option to sit outside on the street patio or the tables near the open front doors.chose a table just inside as the street side tables can get some road noise. Service was brisk and friendly, food was as good as always and we even had a little to take home. Our favorite Indian resto in TO.always good food, excellent value, and pleasing atmosphere Order a small raita to cut the spiciness of the curry.

Service wasnt great was approached one time by server for water the whole sitting. Management was very hosptitable though. The restaurant is gorgeous with indoor and outdoor seating. Now the main thing, the food. Presentation was fantastic and the menu isnt typical indian. Its out of the box which you must give them credit for. In terms of taste vs the price i was disappointed. Indian food thrives on sprices, aromatics and strong flavour. The food was good but the spice level was the lowest of any indian food ive ever had and the aromatics were just ok. If your looking for bold flavours this isnt the place for you. It was pricey as well. A basket of naan prawn/fish curry and paneer dish with 2 waters cost 85 dollars and 95 after a tip. If the flavour profile was bolder i would consider going back even with the price because it is a unique indian restaurant. Likely why i didnt see a single indian there. Seems the menu is cratered to more of a caucasian comminty whom are not as comfortable with bold flavour and extra spice. All in all very good experience but for that price i wouldnt go back. I beleive as pukka continues to modify and perfect their dishes they will begin to please both sides of the flavour pallet and when that happens i would be please to go back. Till then all the best.

Absolutely amazing Indian food and incredible customer service. Our waiter Tony was excellent. Harsh, who I believe is a manager or owner, was also so friendly and hospitable. He goes around the restaurant and patio to make sure the customers are happy. Simply an all around delicious and excellent experience! Will be back soon!

Wrap around excellent! From start to finish this place is replete with polite, discrete, talented service and consistently delicious unique dishes from a menu that is far from your standard Indian faire. A must if you are looking for a meal that is as memorable as it is delectably different. Can't go wrong and I'd hazard a guess that this is right at the top of the 'best in Toronto" Indian Restaurant list.

Overhyped. Overpriced. Overall: disappointing.

I visited this weekend with my wife as we had seen many articles saying this is the best Indian restaurant in town with some reviews going as far to say it is comparable to London's Dishoom (for the record, the only things that it has in common with Dishoom are that both are restaurants that serve food).

To start we had the Eggplant Tartare and the Pukka Chaat, which I will admit were both solid choices and are worth getting if you are inclined to visit (although I don't recommend it). After that, things fell apart.

For the mains, we got the Butter Chicken and the Pumpkin Curry, both of which came highly recommended. For both dishes, it was as if the kitchen had run out of salt. There was no salt in either dish (and none on the table). This is absolutely essential to bringing out the variety of flavors and depth to the dishes that was sorely missed. When eating the butter chicken, the only flavor coming through was sweet which wouldn't be high on the list of flavors that come to mind for that dish. The pumpkin curry did have a few different flavors coming through but it was still very faint. That dish needed salt but it also seemed like they forgot to add any curry to the pumpkin curry.

**We did take the leftovers home and ate them the next day but added our own salt and that completely changed the dishes from unacceptable to above average.

Due to the price and lack of flavor, when in the mood for Indian in Toronto, I recommend that you skip Pukka and find the cheaper alternative in your neighborhood.

Food is tasty but its overpriced butter chicken outside is 12 but here is 35. But overall i can give 10/8. Good location and staff.

A great local place. Gorgeous inside with knowledgeable and polite staff. Their Pumpkin curry is really good and a nice change. Punjabi chicken is also a favourite. Highly recommended.

Pukka is not your traditional indian restaurant, but a creative reinvented indian restaurant. All the menus are extraordinary, such as chilli brownie: brownie with spicy chilli hint. Worth to try!

This is a nice place to do winterlicious as their fixed price menu is quite good. The food was good but not mindblowing so I don't know if I would come and pay their regular prices, as they're a little on the pricey side. We had the chicken 65 (was yummy and spicy, I recommend it), the lamb (very good), and the butter chicken (just okay). Service was fantastic but be aware that it can get quite loud with conversions.

Pricey but you get what you pay for (tasty and savoury meals). Their mailing list sometimes offers coupons for dine-ins which is handy.

Delicious food every time. Laid back atmosphere with the food and service of a high end restaurant. From the friendly service to the impeccably clean white linens, proud this gem of a restaurant is in my neighborhood!

Pukka was a wonderful surprise. The service was excellent and we requested a tasting menu and wine pairing which was full of flavour and provided a wide range of dishes from the menu. Great experience and amazing food!

Food was pretty yummy overall (very big portion for the Chicken 65!), though the sweet potato samosas were a bit of a miss for the price. Unfortunately we got seated next to the big storefront window in -20°C weather and we were quite cold; a heat lamp would've been much appreciated!

We love Indian food and we really enjoyed this restaurant. We got the chaat salad, the dal makhani and the lamb lollipops. Will be back to try more.

Food & drinks is a bit pricey but I love it. One of the best India fusion places I have tried. You will not be disappointed. Try their blood orange negroni.

This site is my number one restaurant. Of all restaurants I know I like it most. I never miss an opportunity to go to that place. Whenever I feel like having a proper meal, this is the place that comes instantly to my head.very good and all kinds of food and a rich menu.great team, and good ambience. Also, the bill is good. Probably the best Indian restaurant I’ve ever been to. We had every single thing on their Winterlicious menu and it was hard to pick a favourite. Service was also impeccable. One of the servers even ran out after us to return the purse that my friend left behind. Will definitely be coming back!

We had mixed feelings about it. The curry in the butter chicken dish was wonderful while the chicken pieces were tasteless. The Lamb in the other dish was amazing while the curry didn't really suit our taste buds. It was still a good dinner but we expected a little bit more.

My wife and I had a very pleasant night. The waiters were very friendly and the food was incredible. The atmosphere was great, too. The dimmed down lighting and the background music was just right. It's such a simple detail, but the coat hanger at the front entrance made the overall experience so much better. We are definitely coming back!
