Service and atmosphere were great, we wouldn’t change a thing - loved the accordion player - nice touch!
There were 5 of us and all of us were disappointed with our dishes.it wasn’t just one of us or a coincidence, we all had a disappointing dish. - Cioppino, for the price, had minimal fish and the fish that was there was very chewy and overcooked - seemed reheated. - Pasta alle Vongole, vongole were chewy and overcooked - seemed reheated. - Gnocchi alla vodka was so overpowered by the smokiness of the bacon that it was just bacon smoke. - Marsala tasted like it was reheated, it was also overcooked, dry and too greasy, but it did have good flavour. - Fish of the day (blackened cod $42) was very oily, decent flavour, but the barley lentil side had no flavour, veggies were good.
We all think the reoccurring trend in all our dishes was that the food seemed pre-prepared and reheated.
We appreciate the service we received and enjoyed the overall atmosphere so thank you for that =)
We went there for the first time for Valentine’s dinner. We we’re not Lucy enough to try their famous pizzas as they were not able to offer any pizzas when we arrived. We ordered calamari, chicken parm and Alfredo pollo which we really enjoyed. Portions are huge and has to take leftovers home (which is not a bad thing). Loved the cozy ambiance will come back again.
What can I say about this restaurant? It was absolutely amazing. I brought my sister and my 9 month old daughter out for dinner. It was our birthday and we both ordered the lobster ravioli. To die for! I'm actually craving it right now! The service was perfect, he was knowledgeable and friendly. I would recommend this place to everyone for the best pasta in etobicoke.
I have visited this place twice now! Both times the service and atmosphere of Pulcinella was outstanding and they do have live music some nights which creates a very warm romantic feel. Went there during summerlicious and New Years Eve. They have a starter with prosciutto, burrata and arugula that was simply devine and I would recommend to anyone! There charcuterie board isn't the best - the crostini was extremely hard and the meat cheese selection was lacking we also weren't a big fan of their gnocchi (which is sad cause gnocchi is one of my favorites) had an overly bacon taste and the chicken Piccata was strong on the lemon but I love lemon so it was something I did really enjoy. Their chicken parm looked mouth watering and tasted amazing along with there seafood pasta was something I would order again. Our servers both times were amazing, funny and made you feel very welcomed, very on top of making sure you have what you need and never found myself waiting for our server. Great selections of wines, beers and Grappa! I would recommend Pulcinella to anyone looking for a romantic or fine Italian dining. I did visit them during two very busy times Summerlicous and New years Eve - which may have contributed to those couple dishes not being the best - still highly recommend. Thanks for having us Pulcinella and can't wait to visit Toronto and your establishment again in the future.
Always lovely at Pulcinella. Best to make reservations mainly because they have rather large parties booking. Not a huge space upstairs but service is always good and the food is exquisite. I have the eggplant fusilli. For dessert a lemon cheesecake that was not too sweet but, beautiful.
Anyone who enjoys their steak anything but Medium-well should NOT go here.
Ordered a medium rare steak and they brought me a medium-well steak. I notified our waiter and he mentioned that the chef only does "medium-well" steak. If that was true, he shouldn't have asked how I wanted my steak when taking my order and/or advised me that the steak is only cooked medium-well. They never offered a replacement dish.
On the positive side, the appetizer (a charcuterie board) and the tiramisu dessert were good.
Overall, I had a poor experience and will not be returning.
It was me and my friends first time coming here! We intended to go to a different italian restaurant in the city but they were “closed for walk ins” so we decided to go here instead. We got calamari and brushetta for our starters, the brushetta was fresh and good and needed a tad bit more salt but it was good! The bread was fresh and nice. The calamari was nice and hot! Abit of the softer side and a little salty. The pasta we got was the alfredo pasta with mushrooms and chicken but we substituted the chicken for shrimp! The pasta was al dente so fresh and nice! The sauce was good, could have used abit more seasoning but it was so fresh and hot! The food took like half an hour to come to our table, but it was busy! The server was really nice it was a gentleman that helped us! I would definitely come back to this place and try other things on the menu! But this place is definitely a good italian place for outside of the city. Definitely worth a try
Excellent food. Superlative service. Portions were generous, nicely prepared and delicious. Staff were very hospitable and knowledgeable. Great selection of wines too. I will go back in a heartbeat & recommend it highly, especially for a special occasion.
Great Italian fare! Delicious in every respect. Service was excellent too. Chris was very attentive & professional. My wife/I shared Beef carpaccio & Arancini for apps & we had the Veal scallopini & Crab Linguini for our mains. & of course homemade Tiramisu for dessert which was divine! Kudos
Came here solo for Summerlicious. I’ve heard people say that they were treated differently at some restaurants when doing Summerlicious/Winterlicious. This was not the case here. My waiter was attentive, provided FULL and amazing customer service. He was knowledgeable, pleasant, and very welcoming. It was a couple days ago and I’ve sadly forgotten his name. I believe it may have been Winston? He seems middle-aged, olive complexion, and wears his hair slicked back. He was really nice to me!
In terms of the food, I ordered 6 oysters (separate from Summerlicious), calamari, alla vodka pasta, and lemon cheesecake. Oysters were great. My waiter suggested which ones to order and was quite disappointed when he realized I didn’t have to hot sauce because it was the “best one” lol. He brought me some and I def enjoyed. The calamari had the right amount of crisp and tasted fresh. The aioli was tasty as well. The pasta was great. I wish I had ordered without bacon, but outside of that, it was delish. Lemon cheesecake was nice too. The lemon flavour was faint and not overbearing. Portions were good too. I left with a take-home box.
AND THEY HAD AN ACCORDION PLAYER! Like how cute! It gave the place a warm feel. I enjoyed my time at this restaurant. Great ambiance, love the open front of house looking onto the patio and lakeshore blvd. They were quite busy and the service didn’t suffer. I’m thinking of going back tonight, actually. 10/10 recommend.
The restaurant is in a bit of a run down area so it lost a point for that. The service was very slow and the greeter at the door seemed to be confused as to where to seat people with and without reservations. Off to a bad start waiting 10minutes without anyone approaching our table and it was not overly busy. Once settled they made up for it with the perfectly cooked food. The calamari starter was fresh and tender. My shrimps were delicious and so was the pasta sauce. Everyone loved the food. Will I go back yes. Would have been a 5 star if not for the rough start and the coffee being served 10 minutes before the desert.
If you like tasty Italian food this place might be for you! The food and the service is excellent. A nice environment to be in and there is a patio if you swing that way. Reasonable price for high quality. If you are in the hood check it out!
Very good food and great atmosphere. Everything was delicious except the zucchini flowers they were deep fried and soaked in oil . Would definitely go back!
Great place went today, saw tiramisu served in a format I have never seen before, but it was delicious! Food was very good, the sauce that was served with the Lobster Ravioli was amazing and tempted me hard to lick the plate clean, that's how good it was. To the people complaining about the time it takes for the food to come/ be prepared, what are you expecting? Chef Microwave to prepare it for you? This is not a chain place like Jack Astor's, you're actually getting real quality food. House red wine was good too, the one in the description that has thyme.
What a bunch of nice people employed at Pulcinella. Great food and the most friendly environment. I sure look forward to going there. Thanks to you, Mario and your wife.
Went here for summerlicious lunch right at 12pm when they opened and there were 4 other tables inside being serviced along with 5-7 tables out on their patio. The service was great! The starters were fantastic as the calamari was seasoned very well and the carpaccio was great too although quite a lot of oil. The main courses we had were not as great as the starters, as I felt there was no real taste to mine and I added a lot of salt to it to give it some taste. My partner's one was okay as well but neither were something we would order again. The desserts were great but as both were very sweet coffee was needed with them which cost an extra $3.95 each. We were seated under the air conditioner inside and the table we had was wobbly which I did not like and feel they should have fixed.
Overall: I would recommend this place as their calamari was really great and carpaccio was very good as well. Service was excellent considering they were kind of busy and I really appreciated the sever refilling our water without us asking. We would return to try a different main course and dessert.
Mario and the Pulcinella staff are world class! They catered an event for me and the food was fresh and of the best quality. I look forward to enjoying more meals from them in the near future
A lovely experience. I had the seared fish special which was a truly gourmet meal, though a bit pricey My husband had a pizza which was flavoured with real, rich, spicy chorizo and very reasonably priced. Fine service, and the table placed by the open front window had just the right outside/inside balance. We hope to come again.
Great service, great food, great portions. Only thing is I wish the food was a little hotter but other than that I enjoyed the experience. Even had live music which I loved
I highly recommend Pulcinella if you are considering having a dinner party, I would give them 10 stars if I could. I hosted a dinner party for 20 at Pulcinella Ristorante, all the guests had a great time and were impressed by the food, service and hospitality provided. I didn't catch the name of the gentleman serving us in the lower level but he went above and beyond to make sure the guests were having a good time, I couldn't have asked for anything more. He even called down the singer to sing happy birthday which the guests enjoyed and made for a memorable night.
Ordered Pulcinella lunch special Fish and chips. Horrible, greasy, overcooked mushy mess! Really really bad. A couple of bites and into the trash. I hate to give a negative review in the lock down but this was just too bad to ignore. Yes that is grease on my fingers in the picture from touching the fish!
The food is amazing! It’s the best authentic Italian food! The charcuterie board is phenomenal and I would recommend this restaurant to anyone! The service is always friendly and welcoming. I cant wait to go back!
I order from Pulcinella often and always have a great meal, Today I got 6 orders of the Fish and Chips Friday special for the guys at work.and I can honestly say. FANTASTIC! We are SO happy you guys are doing this special again! And looking forward to next Friday =) Great job Pulcinellas!
(I wish I could have shown a photo. But it was eaten to quickly)
We ordered our Valentine's meal on Friday to beat the rush. We enjoyed a the salumi tray, Kale Caesar salad, mushroom risotto and the pasta with wild boar and angus beef, From start to finish this place knows Italian food. Thank you for making our meal special.
Very disappointed! Pizza was cold and lobster pasta wasn't great. You want great Italian food try Napoli Di Oro, Eden or La Vechhia. You will never be disappointed.
So many things I wanted to try but can't eat it all in one sitting. The food we ordered was delicious! The service was great too. Very friendly and professional server. The outdoor tent was heated to a cozy temperature. I will definitely be back to try other items on the menu
Can't begin to describe how amazing our Christmas eve fish dinner was! We ordered a tray of The pescatore to feed 6 to 8 and a tray of the fried calamari! Added on some penne a la vodka as well. To begin it could have served 12 to 14 people.but the flavor and freshness was outstanding. Hearty with seafood and authentic Italian cuisine! As for the price point.right on target.thank you we will be back soon.and dining in once our covid restrictions are done!
A gem in the long branch area that is home away from home. Mario is the most gracious, generous and hospitable restaurant owner in town. His staff are fantastic and the food is delicious. Definitely a place to try, again and again.
Been here twice in the past two weeks and enjoyed both times. The staff are professional, attentive and friendly. Can only give 4/5 though as my pasta (FRUTTA DI MARE) was a little overcooked, as was our calamari. I tried the Alfio the second time around which was really good and I highly recommend. Will be back for sure.
My husband I frequent this restaurant often and have never been disappointed. The food and service are always excellent. You can tell that the staff and owner really care and always make us feel welcome. We have tried many items on the menu and I really loved the Seafood Linguine I had when I was there for Mothers Day. We have sent many of the friends to this restaurant and they love it too.
