Great place for family and friend gathering. The food was good and the service was awesome. This is also an AMEX friendly restaurant, so if you’d like to have a premium Chinese food experience as well as earning some extra AMEX reward points at the same time, this should be on your top to-go list.

The roast duck was too cold, the food tasted average, and the mandatory tip was more than 20% before tax. 3 people spent nearly $500. Not worth it

We had a dinner for 7 peoples and 1 kid as pre-reservations. In front of the restaurant has a giant duck and nice decor. We went in and got the table quickly. The atmosphere is cozy and fancy in here, we were really excited for the food as first impression. We chose to call the dishes that we want instead of calling the set menu. The duck was okay, nice presentation. The Scallops dish also the fried rice with eggs white and scallops were 2 only good dishes. The rest were just average for my expectation. The ribs were so dry, the duck pastry were so small and flavourless, the fried oysters were super oily and fishy. When we already finished the food and paid but the desert weren’t serve. The staff said “don’t leave yet, the desert will come soon” so we know “oh they have desert? ”. We wait for almost 20 minutes for super dry and tasteless desert Not really recommend!

The two of us spent 350 yuan, and we were not full yet. The portion was very small, and the taste was very ordinary, especially the roast duck was too ordinary, the food prices were a bit expensive, the environmental sanitation was okay, and the service was average.

The stars are for the nice decorations and atmosphere.
Food is either tasteless or too salty. We had to ask for additional seasoning but the waitress was impatient and asked if we still have other things needed so she doesn’t have to go to the kitchen again. Later on she took away our unfinished dish without a word - we had to stop her but she just held up the plate and expected us to remove the leftovers ourselves.

Hope this is just an one-off issue…

Right taste, exactly like how it should be since hundred years ago from China. A bit expensive thus far

Pleasant experience at QJD Peking Duck. Exquisite ambience. Several reserved environments. Typical oriental decoration. Team with discreet and elegant attire. Ceremonious, courteous and quick service. The light, fresh and tasty meal met expectations. Special note on the rice: simply delicious (I missed eating good rice).

The taste is good and the service is very good. I was given longevity noodles and a small gift for my birthday, which made me very happy.

QJD did not disappoint and lives up to its reputation for high-quality dishes in a fine dining setting. I went with my family and in-laws for my wife and mother-in-law’s birthday and we had an enjoyable experience.

Food: We ordered the premium whole duck, kale salad, Maotai Marinated Duck Meat and Egg Yolk Roll, Sliced Pork Hock with Walnut, Sautéed Duck Hearts Marinated with Maotai, Fragrant Eggplants with Assorted Nuts, Simmered Tofu with Crab Roe, Sautéed Snow Pea Sprouts with King Oyster Mushroom, Green Bass Steamed in Clear Soup, Zhajiangmian, and Duckling Pastries. The house also gave us two complimentary bowls of Longevity Noodles. The duck was fresh and the skin was crispy without being soggy. The skin and meat were nicely separated, and the pancakes were also thin and delicate. Our favourite was the tofu, which was rich and flavourful. The surprise of the evening was the steamed bass - we didn’t expect the fish to be so good at a duck restaurant. The fish was fresh and still tender.

Service: Warm and professional service by the staff. There wasn’t the usual brashness and dismissiveness found at most Chinese restaurants. Servers were helpful and quick in refilling tea, taking orders, putting food on the lazy Susan, and went the extra mile like portioning the tofu for us in individual bowls when they realized we wouldn’t have enough space on the lazy Susan, or tossing the kale salad for us.

Atmosphere: Beautiful decor and finished ceilings with wooden chairs, with a quiet noise level for a Chinese restaurant even with a full house. Didn’t appreciate being seated at the entrance to the restaurant despite plenty of tables in the back that could accommodate us, and was also not asked whether we wanted a private room. There was also an issue at the beginning when we found out that a teacup had not been washed properly, but that was quickly rectified by a member of the team who apologized. These are minor points when contrasted with the enjoyable atmosphere in general.

Value: We spent roughly $600 after tax and tip. Considering the other options available at that price point, QJD delivered an experience worth the price. It was our first time there, and the overwhelming anxiety was that we would be stuck “eating art” and going home hungry. While the portion sizes were not as large as $$ or $$$ Chinese restaurants, we left satisfied and full.

Overall, I wholeheartedly recommend QJD for special occasions and will definitely be coming back.

The Beijing duck is good, everything else was okay. I had similar dishes in their Beijing location before, and by comparison the flavours were lacking.

Food was okay, mediocre Peking duck. The service was not great though. Not attentive at all, spilled many things, rude male servers, and other servers were having own personal conversations instead of doing their jobs.

Staff were friendly, attentive and patient while explaining the menu items. The duck was really good. And the lobster was very tasty and tender too. It is pricey but worth it for a special occasion!

We ordered a full duck and three other dishes to round out the meal for three adults and two younger kinds. The duck was exactly what we expected and it came with 24 pancakes and an assortment of cucumbers, scallions, and bean paste. The highlight for me was the beef ribs which were very tender and flavourful. Unfortunately, the pork meatballs were a disappointment as they were slightly dry (instead of juicy as advertised in the menu).

I'm from Beijing, the ground zero birth place of this world famous restaurant brand, and would love to give this place the support of 5 stars, but I honestly can't. Food taste good. Some dishes date back to empirical times China. But at the end of the day we are talking a dish of half an eggplant worth and some peanuts. It is very pricy and I understand you are paying for authenticity, history, and an art form. At $100 per one whole duck, you do not get a whole duck. They cut the traditional best skin and meat slices but do not give you any other part, no legs, rest of the duck, nothing. $100 for half a pound of duck meat. I can eat about $400 in one sitting of that stuff. The interior design is very average, cheap chairs. They "forgot" some of our dishes and tried to charge us. They also weren't happy with a 15% tip and had the face to try guilting us by saying "Are we not pleased with the service? " No. We are not. It was stressful and overpriced. Will not return.

The duck rack given when the roast duck is taken out also comes with a label of the mineral water bottle.

The restaurant has simple decor but comfortable.
Friendly service
It is on the pricy side

The chef is preparing the Peking duck …. Slice it up and make a nice wrap. Meat is Juicy and skin is crispy

Pine nut sweet & sour yellow fish…. Great tasting and pine cut
I found the taste is on the sweet side for my liking……. But the general public may find this acceptable

asparagus- it is a healthy & refreshing summer quick stir fry veggie

mix healthy salad (barley, kelp, dragon fruit, avocado, pine nut…… accompany with a refreshing tasty dressing

stir fry cumin flavor lamb slice……the lamb is tender with wonderful cumin flavor

Most dishes were good, some are just average.
Service was good, food was not bad. Definetly comfortable. They charged you for tea was kind a surprise.

Been there 4 times thinking things would get better, but it didn't. There was nothing wrong with the food, it was ok. Some foods were too salty, some very bland. Service was terrible and seemed to get worse and worse as I went. Even had a server place their tray on my chair which left a mark on my clothes. The server didn't seem to know what was wrong with putting a tray on a customers chair while they were sitting on it.

Quan Ju De is found of my childhood memories. After the pandemics, QJD restaurant wakens all my taste buds. The 7.5 pound lobster, the 50 ways to cook represent a duck, the lamb, the soup, everything so pretty much loyal to the original store in Beijing.

The service is exceptional, always friendly and courteous. The cleaning lady with a squeegee saw my daughter and commented that she was very cute and was smiling all the time as we passed by and greeted her. The servers were very helpful and eager to solve problems and give exceptional experience!

The decoration is not on par and doesn’t represent the Qin dynasty retro and majestic interior design. However it’s very understandable as the materials would cost millions of dollars to bring and install.

So, it’s a must to go visit the Beijing Qianmen store that was opened in year 1864.

It's just a big brand, don't expect anything else.
I ordered a duck priced at 168, which was sliced three times; I ordered stir-fried bean sprouts, which had a lot of old stems; I ordered mutton cubes, which were okay.

As someone who grew up in Beijing, I have been looking for the most authentic Peking duck and this is definitely the place. QJD is a franchise that's been around for decades and they are famous for all duck based dishes. I can't speak to the other cuisines they offer on their menu (they have a huge menu selection). But if it's your first time, GET THE DUCK.

Reservations recommended. Service is very friendly and attentive although they are pretty busy all the time.
