Queen West Animal Hospital

Really clean, professional environment and service. The doctors seem knowledgeable and take good care of my cat, Frankie. The only thing is that I wish they were a bit more on the ball about following up when they say they will follow up, but it seems like they've got a lot on their plate all the time. A little while ago, the staff appeared to be overstretched, but now things seem less chaotic.

Been taking our puppies to Queen West for almost ten years now. The staff have always taken great care of our pups and have always been available to chat and discuss their health and care options. Would definitely recommend Queen West to everyone.

As always I got all the answers I needed and was treated promptly with great care and expertise from the staff we (Gracie the dog and myself, Paddy the keeper of said dog) I encountered.

Amazing folks! Everyone is so incredibly thorough, organized and kind.
I just got a second dog and I was so thankful to have an amazing vet to take him to.

The vets are fine BUT many of the allied staff (vet techs?) are not very nice or polite. After three visits I took my pet care elsewhere.

First visit to Queen West with our puppy. Welcoming environment, friendly staff. Dr. Jan Cao took the time with our puppy, played with him, spoiled him with some treats and provided an exam and his vaccine and our puppy didn't even know what was happening as he was enjoying his visit, she was so gentle. Dr. Jan Cao took the time to answer all our questions and concerns. I also want to acknowledge the veterinary assistant which I cannot recall her name (sorry) she was also very friendly and took the time to also answer our questions. She was gentle and great with our puppy as well. Thank you for a great first visit experience.

Always excellent treatment at Queen West Vets. Courteous staff and great vets especially Dr. Scott Mathison. Their Covid protocols are efficiently observed with reasonable wait times and very friendly service. At my recent visit with my cat for her yearly vaccines and physical exam, all went smoothly with a very good report on my cat's health. However after I got home I realized that I should have asked if my cat needed another dose of flea repellant (Revolution). It's October but the weather has been warm. The next day I found a flea on my cat. I immediately called Queen West Vets (on a Saturday!) to see if I could get some Revolution ASAP. The staff person said she would put in a request and call me if the product was in stock. It was and she called me soon after so that I could make a quick bike ride to Queen West and pick up the "flea juice". A great relief because it was a long weekend and my cat would have been totally flea-infested by the next business day. Thanks so much to everyone at Queen West Vets!

My dog is super nervous/anxious. As we sat waiting, (with Cleo violently trembling and silent screaming) the assistant at the counter noticed and brought us into the examination room and dimmed the light so my neurotic dog could wait in a more comfortable setting. What a thoughtful thing to do! Vet and assistant were awesome as always. Thanks team!

Excellent veterinarians. Truly awful reception staff.

For the amount of times I’ve had to reschedule due to their error. I called to cancel my emergency appointment due to my dog feeling and looking much better. I call multiple times to no response. I finally get through and I am put on hold only to be then told that they will have to charge me for a (now) missed appointment.

The absolutely worst part in all of this was dealing with a rather hostile and obnoxious receptionist who proceeded to lecture me on the proper protocol I should have made to cancel the appointment, whilst also chiming in on her opinion of how I should have taken care of my dog. The absolute audacity.

The veterinarians are great there, however it’s a shame that we have to deal with such an unfriendly reception staff to get the appointment in the first place.

Have enjoyed wonderful care for our dog here for almost seven years. The staff are clearly compassionate and understanding, and will never try to upsell you on something they don’t believe to be absolutely necessary for your pet’s wellbeing.

Staff is so friendly and patient, space is relaxing and comforting. Made my dog's first experience at the vet very good.

I recently adopted a dog from Mexico and he does Not like the vet. The staff at Queen West were so professional, patient, and understanding with my dog, making us all comfortable. I learned so much about my dog from that one experience, including coping mechanisms and strategies we can utilize for future visits. I would recommend Queen West to any dog owner!

Service was mostly fine as usual, especially with a sick cat. However, I had to tell the assistant information at least 2 times as she didn't record everything I told her the first time. As a result, I had to update them the information I forgot because of the confusion.
I was told on my last vet visit, that a claw clipping was free with the annual check-up. However, this time they charged me over $30 plus tax without informing me of the charge! I only discovered the charge at home after reviewing the emailed bill.
I'm going to demand a paper bill next time so I actually know what I'm paying for at the clinic.
Just because I asked for the claw clip service doesn't mean they don't have to tell me they would charge for it as I was told it was free on the last visit to them. I'm angry about that!
Otherwise, everybody was very nice and the blood test results came back quickly.

Lovely staff and team! First time getting a puppy and going to the Vet - they were extremely welcoming, attentive and engaging. Vet and Vet techs were very knowledgeable, answered all my questions and gave great recommendations.

My Shih Tzu was at ease and so was I. Look forward to this being my main clinic go forward!

WOW. I've had two interactions on the phone with them and am truly so so so thankful.

I'm not even a client of theirs, have never brought in a pet, and I don't even OWN a pet (presently). I came into contact with Queen West animal hospital during a period where I was in the process of adopting my puppy and wanted to gather some information about what vaccinations/care and associated costs i may expect. I called them asking for a general breakdown of what to expect and the person on the phone walked me through the entire procedure/scheduling of vaccinations. He was incredibly patient, informative, and kind. I didn't expect this kind of service, tbh i was expecting them to tell me some annoying spiel about having to come in person, but he was sooo forthcoming with information over the phone.

My second interaction with them was a few days later (today) when i called them for a second opinion when my breeder informed me that my expectant puppy had a faint heart murmur. I was incredibly confused and sad when i heard the news.and since i have little knowledge of what this condition means I called queen west for a second opinion and AGAIN, they were SO. INCREDIBLY. HELPFUL. I believe the person who helped me was named "Angie. " She even called me back after discussing with the doctors to give me a more in-depth answer. She was kind, understanding, and compassionate to my situation.

I'm not really sure where i stand on adopting a puppy for now sadly, but when i do, you better bet that Queen West will be my first choice of vet!
