Queensway Carleton Hospital

I had a family member go their today and they were hungry so they went to Tim's but it was surrounded with food flies, do not recommend their food services but they were out of blanket's pillows even in the emergency room! I am wondering though it was a good hospital before.

Went in July 12th 2: 30am in the morning with severe abdominal pain that I had for a week. The receptionist did NOT even sit me down to examine. Suggested I TAKE ADVIL, and I go to a walk in during daylight and sent me away saying I'd be waiting 10hours to get looked at. I LEFT BECAUSE I WAS CONVINCED IT WAS NOTHING BY THIS LADY. Went to the civic 20min later they have me set up to go for a CT scan, SEVERE PERFORATED APPENDICITIS WITH 7.2CM ABCESS I WAS DYING AND THEY SENT ME AWAY.

Has the most worst health services in Canada!
After a long wait time around 12 hours, Dr seemed not sure what was my health issue!

Something has to be done about this emergency intake team. There has to be a better system that lets patients know where they are in the queue. Waiting 10 hours without any communication is insane. Worst of all is the staff’s attitude, extremely condescending when answering questions around time Frame.
People come to the hospital at their worst of times It’s my view that a hospital should make every effort to turn things around in every way possible from the moment you walk in.
Please come up with a system/process that keeps patients in the loop.

My mom has been transferred from Almonte general, she was sent in right away for CT scan and settled in the emergency, the male nurses there were so pleasant and caring, we then ended up in C4 section and to D4 section all lovely nurses around, very pleasant and caring! Our public health staffs are trying their best, life is easy to complain, my family is very grateful, one of the Best hospital for sure

It is my 3rd visit to its emergency department in last 6 months for so-called non-life-threatening conditions for me and my grandson. I have found it to be the most inefficient hospital unit anywhere in the world. 3rd world countries have far better systems. I am right now sitting here for last 8 hours, waiting for my 1 year old grandson to be seen by a doctor for probably a single stich. But as he is not likely to die, system does not bother.
Every organization public and private ask for customer reviews etc, but this one has no formal mechanism for lodging complains, even.

The front information desk person was very helpful and answered my questions. The triage was quick and efficient along with registration. The wait time listed was over 8 hours. I ended up waiting three hours on a Friday afternoon to get stitches.

This hospital surprised me on how fast their triage area is and getting out of here fast as possible.
Way to go hospital staff.

My mom was at 4th level room A316 recently the nurses and the staff was amazing I was visiting often I always felt the love and care

This is what patient care and experience should be when you go to the hospital/emerge.

The staff was wonderful, great nurses and the doctor was amazing who looked after me.

I've always had great experience there, from birthing my children, to surgery to ER services. The wait can be long but that's not the hospitals fault, just the way the healthcare system is. The staff is great, professional and friendly. The nurses are especially wonderful and very attentive. They are well equipped with surgical rooms, to wheelchairs, etc. The parking is also easy to navigate. Push a button to get a ticket, keep it with you when you go into the hospital and then pay for the parking inside before you leave. Then you just insert the ticket into the machine on your way out. Definitely my favorite hospital in the Ottawa area!

Absolutely hated it, was not taken seriously, waited 7 hours and was told I was going to be waiting at least another 2 when I was in horrible pain and made this clear to them, did not feel safe or cared for

Had an appointment here at the cystoscopy clinic. Everyone was very efficient and friendly. Dr Sahajpal is very professional and explanations very clear.

Queensway Carleton Hospital has been great. After going to two others they were able to determine what was going on.
Doctors and nurses alike have been amazing, unbelievably supportive and very pleasant.
I would highly recommend this hospital to anyone.

I visited the QC Hospital a few weeks back with a sharp pain (appendix), and the wait was long (12 h), but the diagnosis and care were excellent. Like everyone else sitting in the waiting room, I felt my situation should get me immediate attention (heard many grumblings), but the triage folks try their best to queue up their visitors and most of us have no idea what is unfolding behind the scenes. I saw the ER doctor and associated nurses (amazing care), was referred to a surgeon (exceptional) and finally admitted to D4? For a few days, and the folks there were great as well.

I really have to thank the QC for such great care. Yes, the wait was fairly long, but seeing as the hospital footprint in Ottawa hasn't changed since I was in high school (I'm 60). And the population has pretty much exploded in Ottawa, the feat is remarkable.

I got there at 7pm, they tell us the waiting time is up to 8hrs. I was sick and I had told them my symptoms. I ask the lady two hours before and she tells me to be patient that it is almost my time. However after 10hrs, I went back to talk with them and that’s when I knew that they weren’t being 100% transparent. So, my guess is unless ur excessively bleeding or you have extreme physical symptoms, I wouldn’t recommend to go there. Me and a multitude of other people ended up leaving untreated. Paid money for a parking that wasn’t even useful

Very first ask wait time, answer call ambulance then less wait time. Wait time nine to eleven hours when you go without ambulance. Literally they will torture you just sit on wheelchair or ordinary chair. Staff running around like fools. Front desk staff rude disrespectful, ignorant. Unskilled unethical Nurses and Doctors. They do x- rays, CT scan and MRI, but can't read. Radiologist unskilled inexperienced write at the end three to four things. Conclusion is zero. Wondering how they get license? Where they spent their years and years. Their goal is ones get licence and make money. No humanity no ethics. Canada in healthcare is ten minus zero. Worst treatment all over the world. Sucking people's hard earned TAX money.

The long wait times in ER is concerning, we are talking about ER where you need the most doctors and fast checkups, that is why it is called emergency room. Sadly public in Ontario have given up, not even protest against this horrible behaviour. The government of Ontario should be fully responsible for the long waiting times. It is sad to see develop country like Canada struggling in healthcare. Wish they can make it private as well so that people who can afford can get their treatment sooner. Begging nurses and doctors to get things done is not the future Ontarians would want to see. Let’s unite and resolve real Issues in Ontario like long wait times. Hopefully someone will pay attention to these real issues.

Its a Hospital. So why am I writing a review for this lol. This is a top tier hospital for me as I come from the Province of Quebec where it is not that great.

It's always buzy here.
Some staff are nice, than you get not a nice staff.
I know they work hard, but we all are working hard these days.
I just wish these staff would just be nicer and understanding, I always feel that Am wasting their time, that's why I never go to the hospital.until I feel like am dieing.

I found the service to be quite goodand fast to get x-rays. The issue I had is however, in order to get copies of your x-rays to provide to other practitioners, they do not have electronic images, they put them on a CD.what century are they in? If you need X-rays - go to Canadian Diagnostic Imaging, same day results and they can move any results to anyone and give you access to all your results online to do with what you please.

Ignored while lying on the floor in pain shaking while nurses walked by and were laughing and have a hood old time. I was left for two hours. Most horrible care ever. Go to a different hospital. Where the staff care about patients and not how they look

Wow, I have never had such rudeness, carelessness and arogance in my life the operator was opened up the conversation by insulting me for calling, why is there an operator if shr is there to insult patients. She answered my call on Friday March 11,2022 at 9: 37 PM and the minute she heard my voice she decided lash out on me and ended up giving the wrong information - the ottawa public health gives opposite information to what she said. Shame

The worst ever! I was pregnant and i lost my baby because they kept me waiting while i have bleeding for 8 hours! And even after i entered there was no gynecologist to check me its just nurse and she was very rude amd not willing to help! Worst hospital ever no value for humans

If you're pregnant, about to give birth and get Dr Nasser Beshara, fire him as your OB ASAP! As soon as he walks into your room kick him out!
The nurse thay was assigned to me even tried calling every other doctor there was because even she didn't like to work with him. I would've 100% been better off with the nurse delivering my baby.
Dr. Beshara is very full of himself, very pushy and always in a rush. He threatened to use forceps or vacuum because I was too "slow" (even though I pushed that baby out in 2 quick pushes, and my labour was less than 30 minutes while in the hospital). Once my daughter was out he didn't put her skin to skin with me, cut the cord right away and wiped her off without ever asking my wishes, and she had no health concerns at all.
I didn't have an epidural or any pain medications which makes the next part even worse. He didn't use any numbing on me whatsoever when I had second degree tearing and needed stitches. I was literally screaming and trying to crawl up the bed while he stitched me up after pushing out a 7lbs baby! And he told me"oh stop you can't feel this"

Honestly he needs to leave this field all together and stop treating women the way he does. I couldn't imagine all the other pr wmen and babies that are taken under his care

Have had multiple trips to QCH including the birth of my son. The staff, nurses, and doctors here are amazing. It's always been a positive experience.
