This is our go to Caribbean roti shop. Never been disappointed. It is simple and clean. Love the boneless goat! I wish they were open later though. Usually a regular stream of people coming through. Lots of parking in the plaza lot.
Brought family to a very disappointing lunch last week. Bake and saltfish was so salty it was inedible. My guess, they didn't soak it at all, the worst I've ever had. Chicken curry dahlpuri roti was super dry like they cooked the chicken in no sauce at all. Zero stars.
OMG i live in Waterloo but work in Ssauga close to this place. My fav roti/doubles place! Has lots of seating and the Curry duck & goat is tasty.not to mention decent pricing! The other doubles places raised their prices.and so far this place has been consistent every time I go!
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Lena's Roti and Doubles, and I must say, the experience was outstanding! The dhal puri Chana aaloo Roti was not only excellent but also incredibly yummy. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and the quality of ingredients was evident in every bite. The warm, comforting taste of the Roti combined with flavorful Chana aaloo left me craving more. The attention to detail and authentic preparation make Lena's a must-visit for anyone seeking delicious Caribbean cuisine.
This place tastes so so so bad. I got the chicken curry. First of all the curry sauce was spilled all over the bottom of my take out bag. So it was super messy. The the sauce was no flavourful. The rice and peas was undercooked. Wont be coming back here. If I’m paying 18 bucks for food it better taste good tbh.
Just had an amazing meal here for my first time at Lena's Roti. High quality food and a lovely customer service. Recommended going here if you've never had Carribean food!
Lena’s is 100% better than Radicas. What a huge difference in flavour, service. Not surprised Radicas didn’t last in Mississauga. They can get away with that nonsense in Brampton but not here
I visited Lena’s today at Winston Churchill today. First of it was a phone order pick up for 1130, very professional and courteous. I arrived at the store 1130 to pick my order up the atmosphere and the surrounding is very very impressive my order was on time. I got home with my order which was dhalpurie buss up shot and doubles the taste and the quality was absolutely phenomenal. I was hesitant at first knowing it was a franchise name new owners. There food beat back Drupatie’s Leela’s and kishore the founder of Lena’s. The roti was fresh the dhal was all the way to end of the roti the buss up shot was absolutely soft the doubles on point. I will continue to recommend and support Lena’s on 3105 unit # 3 Winston Churchill.
The food is amazing and tasty. I was actually brought over by my best friend. I will definitely be eating from this place frequently henceforth. Keep making great and tasty foods.
Amazing place, service is out of this world & food is amazing. I wish can eat everyday. Basic customer service is displayed every time you are in the restaurant
Friendly and quick service. I ordered a meat (goat curry) roti. It was tasty but I found the meat to be a bit in the tough side. I will be back to this place though for the specials of the day).
We bought from here before but decided to give it a second shot. We will not be going back. It's definitely not worth the 20 mins drive like the old place was. Also their menu items are pricey and not worth it.
Tucked away in the plaza but so glad I found it! First time here and definitely won't be the last.amazing food, had the curried chicken roti and it was so tasty and freshly made! Very friendly staff. Highly recommend!
Portion size small Food not as good Pepper sauce is sweet n sour Can't run a Trini Carribean restaurant if you don't understand the culture. Running out of doubles during prime time.bruh? I can see this place serve up butter chicken and naan soon
Just changed ownership, about a week ago. The menu has changed as in the same food but new recipe! Beware it's nothing like Radicas Caribbean to taste. I had gone and was surprised it's changed owners but the food was more Indian Asian then Carribean. You have been told!
It was an amazing experience with radica’s hot and spicy. There goat paratha and it was amazing and the goat was very tender and flavourful.doubles were 20/10. Perfect place to stop by with family. Girls working in the front are very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended! MUST TRY!
Had dinner here today evening with our family. Two of us got the goat curry rotis which were tasty! I recommend getting it with the daal because it added another layer of deliciousness to the overall taste. One of us got the jerk chicken and the other got the chicken curry both of which were also tasty and filling. We walked out feeling full and still had some food left to take home. Therefore we felt the portion sizes were reasonable and their pricing was good. We also ordered 5 doubles of varying spice levels but found even the "slight" were quite spicy. If you have low spice tolerance ask for the least amount of spice.
Radical’s does not represent the true hospitality of what it is to be Trinidadian. Doubles was stale as 4 day old bread. Phoulorie was hard as a rock. Called to let them know that the food was cold and the employee basically told me to go to hell. Never again, never, so disappointing.
I buy goat roti many times different roti shops in the city or outside the city area. I NEVER paid 18+tax for a goat roti. They are out of control with their prices in many other items. The food tastes good, however I can buy more elsewhere for less money and it tastes great as well.
This is one of our go-to places for roti. We moved to Oakville from Scarborough and were very used to good roti. Thankfully Radica's has never disappointed. We haven't tried anything other than the chicken roti but everything looks fresh and delicious and the place is spotless.
Minus star for this worst restaurant I ordered from Uber just now Supposed to deliver at 6: 30 and when order got delayed I texted driver and he told me order got cancelled And Uber or restaurant never informed me earlier I was waiting and starved This is very disappointing and I want to be compensated for this!
This place used to be one of the good places to get a doubles and Chana now it over priced and much less portions now. I give 2 out of 5 star the best is lenas roti and doubles and leelas roti and doubles as for radicas hot and spicy they should go back to school to learn the basics of cooking all the best
Usually get doubles once a week from this location. Great taste, very delicious. Only wished they would assemble the doubles a little less sloppy. Makes for a mess and falls apart every time. If the doubles were able to keep together it would be a 5/5
Radicas makes good food but the portion size has shrunk incredibly. I visit all the time and was shocked of the size of the 9.99 lunch special. The majority was filled with rice and 4.5 pieces of goat. I went back to confirm that this was the right amount of food expected for $10 and he shrugged his shoulders and said its the lunch special. I will not be visiting this location again and neither will my coworkers.
Probably the best doubles I've had in the GTA. Their roti are also super good, but my favorite's probably the curry shrimp and rice! The hot pepper sauce is also no joke, so it's great if you like the burn
The upmost worst experience, even when you order ahead of time your still waiting an extra 20 mins, then the food isn’t fresh and you’ll end up in the bathroom for awhile afterwards.worst place please don’t eat here unless you want to vomit off of stale old food never fresh and the place smells like mould
Today is June 22nd 2021 and I must tell you all the quality and taste at this branch has declined tremendously it seems that consistency is the key issue here.
Polhurwhi didn't taste as b4 seems like was made with flour and turmeric for colour roti was lots of wrap and less fill meat was tender flavour not as I anticipated for the cost disappointed over the cost considering I haven't ordered in a couple years
Last roti I got there was soaking wet! Too much gravy I guess; couldn't even lift it up without it completely falling apart in the plate. Had to settle for using a knife and fork, and you already know how we trinia feel when we see ppl doing dat!
Been coming for years. The food is always on point. They have all the traditional sweet and savory snacks as well. Staff is friendly enough for a west Indian spot. Plenty parking
The food was okay. I've had better quality food and customer service elsewhere. Ordered here because I recently moved and this location is close but I probably will make the drive home to have Indar's next time I crave some West Indian food. The bake and saltfish was very salty and otherwise flavorless and the doubles were hard.
It is the second time i buy duck roti from them and can't eat it i wasted 15dollars on a roti $on two doubles that was the worst twenty dollars i ever spend never again
Great food, service and quality! The food is delicious and you get your money’s worth. They have great Caribbean snacks as well and homemade tasting treats. The customer service is wonderful!
I was very intrigued by the variety on their menu! My first time hearing of "triples" which they sell as larger versions of doubles. My take. 1. Please infuse some energy into their front line staff. They come across as if they are there by force and not by choice. 2. The individual roti shells (no filling) are relatively pricey ($3.75 for a dhalpuri), but fairly large and tasty. 3. Compared to other places I've been, the saheena (pictured) was way too oily and crispy. It was cut in half but unsure why as there was no filling. I am curious about some other unique items on their menu so willing to go back!
This past weekend I had placed an order for pick-up at 12 noon. Granted, I was delayed in coming by to actually get my order due to circumstanced beyond my control, but when I did arrive, my order was not ready. The items I had purchased were not even made yet. As I was already running late, I had thought it would have been sitting there waiting for me, but I ended up having to wait for the food to be cooked. If it were just an ordinary lunch order, that might have been fine, but this was for an event that afternoon and I didn't have time to wait. The gentleman at the front said he had called me, but no voicemail was left. Our order tasted great and was super fresh, it just would have been great to have it right when I arrived there.
Love their doubles. My fav snack to have the spicy doubles with tea. They always make it perfect! The place is clean and spacious. Order is done quickly and its fresh.
Gem of a place in Brampton. One of the best Caribbean restaurants out there. Their doubles are downright delicious. I loveee their tamarind sauce/chutney. Their rotis are amazing of you want to grab a quick bite. Always order ahead as they are crazy busy.
I was recommended to this place by a friend. I ordered couple things. The food tasted was terrible. The chef had put it too much gravy that it all turned soggy and the spice level was way too much for medium. I had problem when one of the things I had ordered weren’t cooked properly and reported it to the employee. She did nothing about it and said that it’s supposed to be this way. I have had the dish before and I am well aware of the taste. The employees seemed very uninterested and ignored my issue. I ended up throwing the food and left with a huge disappointment. Never going to this place again.
We ordered doubles and it was so drippy and soggy when it arrived everything On top of it, we ordered saheena which did not seem to be cooked properly and tasted like a chewy flesh rather than spinach. This place was on top of my list a few years back, but with time they have only reduced there quality
Good food, but I went in and there was no one to take orders, so I'm standing there waiting, another guy walks in and waits as well, then when the employee came out to take our orders she immediately goes up to him and starts taking his order. I said "I was here first" but she continued to take his order and said I would be next. Interesting. Made me feel like they favor their own race or something because I don't know what other reason a restaurant would allow a customer to be skipped their turn. Won't be back, even though I enjoyed my Roti.
I'm relatively new to Caribbean food, but I've tried places like Alwynns, Chris Jerk etc so I have a pretty good benchmark on the flavors.
Their doubles is my favorite. The Bara is so light, and there is a hint of sweetness to it. The channa (filling) is so soft, and it was garnished with some kind of cucumber. It was just perfect.
I always thought it was a Hakka / Chinese place with the name Hot and Spicy. Should really emphasize the Caribbean roots for those that drive by! I will surely be coming back over and over again.
Food tasted amazing and the presentation was great as well. The goat roti was well put together and had plenty of goat, but just filled with potato. The restaurant itself was bright and clean, including the washrooms that were spotless. I would definitely recommend this to anyone.
First time in. Amazing experience. Owners so kind - Radica is so lovely, even after a long day! Super clean. And most importantly food is absolutely delicious!
I have ordered your vegetarian roti on skip the dish more than once now because it's so good! Good quality and delicious food, so thank you for that. I have a question, is your meat options halal? Please let me know.
First time visiting and had the Friday chicken and rice (added shrimp) special. Really good and flavourful. Definitely would revisit. Clean and simple sit down area. Order and pickup from the counter - professional service
Today we stopped by Radica's for some home style Trinidadian food. I ordered the boneless goat roti. It was very tasty and the serving is pretty large. The doubles are excellent also.
Tip: To avoid waiting long it is a great idea to call and order your food for pick up because sometimes it can take 15 minutes to get your food ready.
The staff are so polite and friendly. The food is the best. High quality, tasty and so great. Double the meat is really double the meat. I've never been sick once in all the time I've been coming to this place and I have a pretty touchy tummy.
Lunch time is a busy mix of people. It's just fun to see who comes into eat here.
The hot sauce is hot lol careful!
Jerk chicken, curry goat, roti, the doubles are great. Sometimes I just crave eating here.they're the best!
Had the bake and shark and a double. The bake and shark taste delicious, however the bake was very thin so it made it just fell apart when I picked it up to take a bit.
First time there today and hands down the best I've had since moving to Canada. Best doubles and saheena. Duck was so tasty and well seasoned. Definitely my new go to place. Owner is super nice and friendly. Also met a few fellow trinis. Great place guys!
The food was good. I got doubles, chicken roti and aloo pie. Not quite like home but a good place to get West Indian if you have a craving and are in the area.
Food is delicious and well prepared. The restaurant’s facilities are also clean and organized.
There is room for improvement especially with the younger workers to wear a smile. There’s usually no cost to do that and it adds to an overall better customer experience. It gives me the impression the employees doesn’t really want to be there and it’s a burden to be on the job. What’s going to happen when they been doing this for 20+ years?
I will continue to patronize the shop but I would encourage management to take the necessary steps to coach and provide training to the younger employees as it relates to this concern.
Every time I've gone here, great service, very clean. Friendly staff. And also being half Trini, it's a great familar taste of home, when mom is out of town and I get her style of cooking. But these guys are the next best thing keep up the great work, Soca warriors!
This place has the best tasting doubles and jerk roti. I loved coming home from work every day and occasionally stopping in to get a spicy double. The owners and staff are so friendly, you feel at home.
Even now I've moved away from mississauga, whenever I come back I always stop in for a bite. You wont be disappointed
First time visiting. When I saw the sign off the road, first thing that came to my mind were Doubles:) so I turned around and stopped for a quick bite. The restaurant is spacious, is very clean and has a very nice feel to it. The food was fantastic, just the right amount of everything. Finger licking good! Have not enjoyed Carribean food this good in a while. One more thing, the service was amazing:) I will be sure to stop by again next time I’m in that part of town.
Not happy at all this time. The new east indian cook didnt know how to serve. We ordered tripples on a plate. Came without any sauces. We had to ask for pepper and sweet sauce. Then we had to ask for cucumber which they didnt know any thing about. Finally they server it in a plastic cup. By the time we got everything. The food was cold.
