I have visited this restaurant the food was so good and there are variety of food items I liked the chicken biryani most My friend saikeerthana referred me this restaurant
I had the pleasure of being served by an exceptional girl Ann at Rajas and I cannot praise her enough for the outstanding experience she provided. From the moment we were seated until the moment we left, her attentiveness, warmth, and professionalism were truly commendable.
Orders South Indian non veg meal to go, the food was good but was given veg meals charged for non veg. Always check your to go order with this restaurant.
Visited this place because of my friend's recommendation. But it was a really good experience for me and my gang. The interior is beautiful with all the lightings and pictures.
We ordered Butter Garlic Dosai, tandoori chicken biriyani, chicken 65 biriyani, kothi porotta and whole fish fry. Everything was perfect especially the dosai and biriyani.
Our table was served by Ann and the customer service was top notch. We received everything without any delays and Ann and the team ensured everything.
One of the best Indian restaurants in town (Sahar's and Kohinoor being the other ones). Very clean and the staff is very polite. The food is always fresh with a wide selection of dishes. I do feel that the quantity for the price is at times compromised e.g. The paneer chunks are definitely on the small side.
But yes the taste is great and it's a lovely location for patio season. Definitely give it a shot!
Their website makes it very difficult to order - have to first wade through a dozen categories of food, then multiple pages for each category, scrolling until you find what you want. We knew exactly what we wanted, but their website made it painful to find it. It didn't help that it was incredibly slow to open each page.
Eventually gave up, and called them directly to place our order. It took 25 minutes to place our order of 5 items. No exaggeration. I had to repeat each item multiple times, my name multiple times, and my address no less than half a dozen times. I went out of my way to speak loudly, and enunciate very clearly (my family has lived in Canada for generations, so no accent at my end). The person at their end had a very heavy accent, and there was a lot of background noise at the restaurant, so it was a challenge understanding them as well. Finally finished placing my order at 5: 45.
Was told it should arrive between 6: 25 and 6: 40. It was 7: 15 before our order arrived. It was luke warm at best.
The flavours of the various foods was excellent - no issues there. The buttered chicken was 85% sauce, and 15% chicken - wasn't impressed with that. As I mentioned, the taste for everything was good - it was just pretty pricy for the actual amount of food you got. The last piece of naan bread actually had tiny bits of some sort of metal filings in - not exactly sure what that was.wasn't tinfoil, almost seemed like tiny bits of a grill scraped off. They were like small, thin, black shavings from something - not sure. My neice was spitting them out, and we took turns trying to figure out exactly what they were. Thankfully, they were small enough that they weren't going to cause any serious harm.
I felt bad, since I had actually suggested this place, as I ate there a few years ago, and remember enjoying it. Eating in may be fine, if you're not too price conscious, but I for one will definitely not get take out from there again.
Had a nice dinner here. The appetizers were amazing. The mains were less so. I asked for medium spicy chicken tikka masala and it not only lacked spice, but also flavour. The wine selection is a bit of a mess in that the staff don't know what they have because their wine list is so outdated. Something seemed a bit of a mess, really. There were a couple of wait staff adhering to the dress code and then a few who were dressed very casually. The garlic naan was really good, but I'm not sure I'll return anytime soon.
Despite all the reviews we tried different cuisine items. We ordered the mixed platter, dosas and baigan bharta. The mixed platter was good the pakoras, samosa, chicken Tikka and sheesh kabab plus they gave us the complimentary papad and chutney as sides. We ordered 2 kind of dosa and uthappa and believe me the dosa were delicious as ever and the chutney with them. I found the utthappa a little thick then other restaurants which kills the taste of the masala a little but you won't notice it if you are having it with the chutneys. The bharta, naan and roti were satisfactory, the bharta was tangy because of the tomatoes and yogurt in it so if you are expecting a spicy and masala one you should better tell them or not order at all. As it was the closing time the naan seemed a little raw but the rotis were perfect. The staff was very helpful and generous when it came to consuming more time as they were busy because of the weekend. We reserved our spot in advance and they took all necessary precautions. Although it was closing time they gave us our time to enjoy our meals and were not at all trying to get rid of us.
Food is very expensive and portions are terrible! 18 dollars for 6 pieces of tiny chicken. Not to mention food does not come with rice or naan bread - apparently this is extra will not order here again.
One of the best place for indian food taste in the city. The taste is what I am fan of about this place plus ask about the payment options if they by change forget to tell you which I bet they won't.
Found garlic Clove in my Mango Lachi. Vegetable pajora was not cooked. Lam Kanab very smelly. Vindi was not cooked. 2 people's dinner for 96 dollars was not worthy.
Was in on a Friday night with a friend and the overall experience was great. The menu is vast and has so much of variety for everybody. We ordered Paneer Masala Dosa and Chicken Kothu Parotta. Both the dishes were delicious and the qty was fair.
Service was warm and efficient and we felt very well looked after during the whole time. Ms. Sakshi was prompt, attentive and knew the menu well. She adhered to the covid protocols and did help us out with our order. Can't wait to return. Thanks:)
Very expensive and very less quantity food the the gravy is not even sufficient for two and the way of the service was very rude and bad. Must improve their quality and quantity.very very bad experience will never come again for dining……
I only recently got to know they serve S Indian food and ordered a masala dosa. The dosa was very well made and came with an assortment of dips (two chutneys and sambar). The lady attending to my table, Sakshi, was very polite and made the whole experience very pleasant. Am going to go back there for more South Indian food soon.
Waited from 6: 15pm to 7: 40pm for our meal, only to find out they forgot to put the order in. As I looked around the restaurant I did not see one other table with food. The skip the dishes guys where constantly in picking up bags. This was clearly the priority. Won't go again, very poorly run.
My experience at Raja was so good! I was going to Cambridge to have south Indian food but decided to try Raja instead. Their Kara dosa was so spicy and flavourful. I am so happy that I came to eat at Raja. Highly recommend!
The food has great flavour! Everything is ala cart. I ordered Rogan Josh with rice and left hungry. There are several indian restaurants in the city that have better value. They do give a discount if you pay cash.
At raja indian cuisine i ordered a masala dosai and my fellow critique ordered chicken briyani.i found the dosai to be well cooked and it was the perfect level of spice.the sambar and chutney were also full of flavour.the service for my food was remarkably fast.my fellow critique also liked their briyani.it was a good size and the plating was visually pleasing.spice level was good and overall it was delicious.the ambience was also very nice with good lighting for a dinner.overall i would recommend this place.
We are living in Ottawa. Our daughter entered Waterloo University for 1st year computer engineering. We took her to Waterloo on September 5 and the night we went to this restaurant for dinner and the food were amazing. We normally go out as family over the weekend to eat, we have tried all the restaurant in Ottawa and GTA but never ate food that so much delicious like Raja Fine Indian Cuisine. Then the service by this girl named Sakshi, so nice and her service was amazing. Because of the service and the tastes of food, we go to this restaurant every time we go to Waterloo
I tried the south Indian parotta and Chicken Jalfrezi. I really liked it. Will definitely go back again. Good food and amazing service. Highly recommended.
