Ramen Isshin

Even before opening the door, people were lining up, and as soon as it opened, the restaurant was packed. Many had waited for the praised ramen shop. The taste is good, but it's not significantly better than other ramen shops. Seems like a decent ramen place.

One of the best ramen I have tried! I can't say it's the best in town, but for sure it is one of the best, I tried the Red Dragon and omg, it was super good, can't wait to go back. The service was really good too, thank you for the hospitality.

Great food. Noodles were great and the broth was flavorful. Took a bit of time to receive our food after ordering but it was worth it.

The place is small and busy so there's a 60min time limit. The staff is polite, and they always make sure to fill your water. The ramen broth and the noodles are really good. We got the red miso and Assari light shoyu (tastes kinda like Filipino sopas). We also got the chicken karaage don and Cha Shu don (pork belly rice similar to Filipino sisig but soft instead of crispy). I like the mango pudding but my sis finds it a little sour. I also enjoyed the sesame ice cream. The hot plum ginger wine tastes like beer/ginger ale thats warm. We parked on Bellevue Ave btw.

I can’t count the number of times I’ve been here in the last 6 years. This is the best ramen and my favourite food in Toronto! My friends and I plan our lives around Ramen Isshin dates. My husband brings me here to celebrate and when I need a pick-me-up. As soon as I finish, I want it again. Ignore their rankings of their best ramens; get the black sesame tantan, add an egg, and thank me later.

Delicious Ramen for sure, I feel like the slice of beef it's bit tiny but other than that Delicious, I tried miso spicy ramen, maybe I go for round two

Delicious ramen in a chilled setting. The broth was tasty and very filling. Really hits the spot if you are craving a ramen.

Hadn’t been here in many years, I think it has gotten even better. The food is assembled prettier with garnish, the dishes and cutlery are prettier, our food may have even tastes better than i remember. I liked how they brought a little mortar & pestle to crush your own sesame seeds, fun touch. I regretted not ordering dessert and sake. Great job, we will be back, I hope you update the dining room next.

Food was amazing; the best Ramen in Toronto at least based on my experience.
I was just concerned seeing one of the cooks not wearing his mask at all. It was on his chin all the time. I hope they take public health more seriously for all of us.

I went to Ramen Isshin for the first time ever yesterday. I tried their Miso vegetarian ramen soup noodles. It was very well made, fresh and delicious. The server was very nice. The entire staff is nice, courteous and hospitable. Very good customer service. I am vegetarian, so the best part for me was the server offering to make the rice noodles separately from egg noodles. I loved this and enjoyed my noodles much more. Authentic Japanese taste. Must visit.

Really good ramen. I had the vegetarian and my friend had the pork. Both were really good. A little expensive though.

Waited 1.5 hours outside, despite repeatedly being told "10 more minutes" until we could be seated. The server initially claimed 10 minutes to get us seated, and another 20 minutes to order. Why lie?

Inside, the servers had already served two families that came in afterwards, before us!

Overall, I would have gladly rated you 3-stars if not for your highly inaccurate, estimated wait time.

We love this place. The vegan version is really tasty too - it just took longer than normal to get to our table at this location. We normally go the the one on College

Their veggie garlic shoyu ramen was SO good! Can't believe it had no meat in it, it was that flavourful. I added an egg to mine but you can also make the dish vegan by changing the noodles. Their takoyaki was also yummy. Service was quick and accurate. The only downside would be that they were asking people to share tables (the location is a bit small) which I found uncomfortable, especially with COVID. However we arrived early so we didn't have to do this, but a line formed soon after (2pm on a Saturday) so I did see many customers having to share tables. Can't wait to come back at a less crowded time!

The staff here are very nice, good service. They have a pretty large menu of ramen and broth, with vegetarian options available. I ordered the garlic oil shoyu and my partner ordered the classic shoyu. I loved the roasted sesame taste of my broth while the classic shoyu had a creamy rich broth. They were both amazing! The inside is a little small so it might be a long wait to dine in on weekends.

The vegan broth here is phenomenal. The regular noodles aren't vegan, but the rice noodles (additional cost) are, and they have an okay texture. Only thing missing is a regular ramen noodle option that doesn't have egg.

Gyoza was crispy with a good dipping sauce. The broth is flavourful and slightly rich (the red dragon is richer than the spicy red miso). Good place if you like a lot of toppings in your ramen. The red dragon has pieces of chilli so be careful! But overall both broths are a flavourful spicy rather than a hot spicy.

Ordered the Spicy Vegetarian Ramen with chicken topping. Just wow! The ramen was delicious.it wasn't as spicy i thought it would be, so next time I will ask for extra spicy! A great place to hang out with friends!

The Red dragon ramen was super spicy but also extremely delicious! Highly recommend it along with the takoyaki which had a very nice crispy outside

I’ve had a decent amount of ramen before, but this was by far the best. Tan tan sesame was really exceptional, flavourtown galore.

The gyoza was so good we got one order, finished it within minutes and immediately after got another order, just in time for our delicious ramen to arrive. Don’t miss out on the black sesame ice cream after for a unique treat.

Easily one of the best, if not the best Ramen place downtown. Me and my partner have been looking vegan ramen and finally after searching for some time we have found the holy grail of ramen. This place is soo amazing and the atmosphere is the best, you are greeted by the entire staff as you walk in and when you leave. Can’t wait to go back and get some more red chilli miso ramen with kale noodles mmmm

Ramen Isshin I think lives up to the hype. Ordered the Chicken Karaage because the Chicken Katsu ran out along with the Kotteri Rich Soyu

Chicken Karaage:
-Only came with 4 pieces
-Chicken was tender
-Love the Kewpie mayo along with the chicken
-Wished there would've been more

Kotteri Rich Soyu:
-Broth was super flavourful
-Noodle had the perfect amount of chew
-I can definitely see why some people might find the broth being too salty
-Sucks how they only give 2 slices of the pork belly cha shu
-Definitely order more if you're a meat lover
-Soft boiled egg spot on

Would definitely become back and recommend to a friend. Only gave it a 4/5 because of the lack of meat.

Amazing spicy miso Raman and for a unique experience try their dip Raman noodles. It comes with a hot stone bowl. I like extra corn on the side! Would definitely come here again! The staff here was friendly and sweet.

I did not like Ramen till I came to Ramen Isshin! My wife loves Ramen, hence she brought me here. The staff here is extremely friendly. You can call any server if you need something and they do not mind. She ordered some appetizers that I truly loved. Firstly the age tofu was delicious since it had spring onions and sauces that brought the perfect flavour. Secondly the pork gyoza had the perfect crunch and the sauce with it goes harmoniously.

The vegetable red dragon ramen was the highlight. The soup was delicious and I could have the soup with mushrooms alone without any noodles. This place is economical and I highly recommend this place to anyone that loves Japanese food.

Staff are friendly and welcoming. We were able to choose to seat inside or outside. We opt to sit inside as it was a hot day, but inside is pretty messy and a lot of things are not organized. The food preparing area and customer seating areas have many boxes/ random items. Not sure about the cleanliness of this restaurant.

The ramen arrived hot, and the broth is tasty but not overly salty/ oily, which is a good thing for us. We also ordered a can of Sapporo, price is $5 for a 500ml can, not bad. They also have draft but we opt for canned ones due to the cheaper price.

Outdoor seating is right next to the road, with all the air pollution, I am not too sure if I'd like to sit outside.

Overall, I will not make a special trip to dine here, but would still eat again if I happen to be in the area.

Great ramen and authentic dining experience. The broth was rich and tasty but I found that the noodles were a little overdone for my liking. When I ordered an extra portion of noodles, it had better texture and were chewier. We were disappointed that they had ran out of their only in-house made dessert of mango pudding when we visited for lunch.

We had two dishes and an starters and all things were very good. The miso Ramen was tasty, creamy and we asked for not spicy and the taste was perfect. The gyozas were very delicious too, crispy and well cooked and the other Ramen that were two ramen in one was good too for me was a bit stronger flavour but they said so on the menu. The noodles, the vegetables everything was really good quality and the pork Court was thin and very well done also. The servers were kind and the place has a really good vibe.

Updating this after getting some pork broth ramen through Uber eats that smelled like old rancid kitchen grease. The fried chicken don was also awful. This place must be buying fake reviews because the food is revolting. Stay away. Prev review: It's a stretch for me to put this even at three stars. Everything was bland. The rice was slightly burned. Maybe I came on a bad night but it was just not good.

Fantastic bowl of Ramen. I had the spicy red miso ramen. Broth was thick, perfectly seasoned and rich with miso flavor, spice level was spot on. Pork was tender, not over cooked and neither were the vegetables. Excited to go back and try dragon Ramen. Service was excellent.

Called in a couple of hours before, drove an hour, booked a table, came in and was told we didn't call in. We showed the phone call and were told to wait 15-20 minutes. While waiting they sat someone who arrived right after us. Left soon after. Not happy with the service.

This place is absolutely one of the coolest restaurants in the area. Anytime I come there I am remarkably pleased. They preserve their high standard service and the highest level of meals they provide. You definitely will enjoy this this restaurant. Warmly recommended.

This was the first restaurant my gf and I visited on our trip to toronto. We are extremely pleased with our impromptu decision with dining at this location. After dozens of ramen shop visits across the world, this shop stills holds a special spot on our list!

Love the vegan options, let’s get some Tan Tan though. The regular vegan noodles are better than the kale ones. Only qualm is the takeout arrangement, noodles and fixins should go in the bowl and broth should be added, not the other way around.

Best pho I have ever had! The place is super cozy and filled with the aroma of amazing broth from the open kitchen where you can see the chefs making bowls of pho none stop. I wish they had more veggie options but the one they do have is to die for. The place is super small also with not too much seating so if you don't call ahead you most likely need to wait to be seated, but trust me its worth it! Can't wait for lock down to be over, I've had a craving for this pho for so long now especially with this cold weather!

Pretty good! We still had to wait for 40 mins for bar seats.we waited to give this place a try. The food was good. Service was fast but I honestly wouldn't wait that long for 2nd time.

Interior, service was good. I like they offer allergy chart clearly, which I felt they are caring of customer's health. They have various option, use a wok to make ramen (normally, moat Japanese noodle restaurants don't use it, because it requires much skill, time and effort) But, I was really disappointed with the taste of ramen. We ordered two ramens which are the most famous top 2, spicy miso and miso ramen. But the broth was not flavoured, taste was extremely shallow, TOO SWEET. I feel like I was literally eating melting CANDY WATER. Even if it was spicy miso, I couldn't taste any spicy or any miso. We tried but couldn't finish it. Just went out with hunger and unpleasant. We went to another restaurant.

Had the takoyaki and spicy miso, both tasted great staff was super friendly. The 40 minute wait was well worth it. The broth of the spicy miso was very rich and the flavors instantly spread through my mouth. The noodles was soft and tasted great.

This restaurant is extremely busy. We went on Wednesday night and it was already packed with people waiting around 5: 30 pm. The amount of people that were waiting kept growing. There wasn't much room to wait inside so at the table closest to the entrance you're eating pretty much with people standing right beside you. If you're okay sharing a table it'll be a slightly shorter wait time.

We ordered as soon as we sat down since we looked at the menu while waiting. They're fairly quick with making your orders. I don't think I've ever had bad karaage and this was no exception. I was expecting a larger portion for though. The gyoza skin wasn't as crisp as I would've liked but it was still tasty. The garlic ramen tasted burnt. Like the garlic was overdone and it was too salty for my taste.

Overall it was good ramen but I don't understand the hype.

It's not too spicy, which allows you to have a lot of flavour when eating it.

Much needed warmth after a cold winter night skating at the Bentway. Nest with Sake and a bunch of friends to hang out. It was amazing especially since I tried ramen and sake for the first time. Would definitely go back.

Why most of Japanese restaurants in Canada and the U. S.are so overrated? Do people really know what good ramen tastes like? The highest score their Ramen can get is 2 stars. Noodles and soup really disappointed me. Every time I go to a new place for Good Ramen, I would be amazed by its soup first, then the noodles become more like seasoning. The soul of the Ramen is the soup! BUT, Isshin’s soup tastes so insipid. It did not amaze me at all, and the noodles are not good enough to save the bad soup. So it is just a failure overall. I don’t wanna talk too much about their Ramen since everyone has their personal taste. The service was awful too. The waitress told me the seat for two people needs 20 mins of waiting. We waited 50 MINUTES. There is a small couch inside that can only fits no more than 3 people. Many people would rather wait outside at 3 degree instead of standing inside with very small space like fools. We ordered two ramen and two side dish. The waiter repeated my order correctly. And 30 mins later, after we are done with ramen, the side dish were still not bringing to us. We called the same waiter and he said he didn’t write them down.
The only place that has great ramen outside Japan I’ve been to is Ichiran. The others either suck at noodles or soup. If you are a Ramen fan, get yourself a passport and ticket. Fly to the hometown of Ramen. Even a small unimpressive restaurant with an old couple can make you a Ramen that’s better than any places in Canada. By the time, you will feel so worth it.

Best ramen in Toronto. Highly recommend the spicy miso soup! If you’re a spicy food lover it’s just the right amount of spicy! Oh and get the gyoza and Karaage- absolutely delicious.

My absolute favorite. The customer service is always so attentive and impeccable, some of the best I've had at a restaurant ever. The food is fantastic too.

By far my favourite ramen place in the city! It is amazingggg, The spicy red miso ramen is my go to! Things to note, the space is small so there is limited tables - there is Always a wait! Best to go during off peak hours to get a seat - their second location at Assembly Chef Hall is not as good as it only has limited menu items (which do not include my fave lol). The prices are good for ramen, the noodles are perfect, I love that it comes with sliced pork and ground pork as well, the service was great and fast turnaround. I also enjoyed the Chicken Karaage starter! I would 100% recommend this place - does not disappoint!

The ramen taste it’s extremely good, the taste kinda like exploding flavor of a little bit of all the flavor combinations, the price is cheap I ate 1 takoyaki, 1 chicken karrage, 1 bowl of big ramen only cost, the total it’s only 30$, the pork meat in the ramen here kinda not too much but you can order more, the waste time here is extremely long but you can go and sign up your name and take a walk around 1 hour and come back to eat.

This place is crazy packed! Wait time was roughly 47 minutes. We waited at a near by café as my friend and I were determined to eat here haha. HONESTLY, no regrets. The food was amazing, delicious, I can still taste it in my mouth (weeks later). So be ready to wait if you go after 5pm but it will be worth it at the end. #I'llbeback

Absolutely delicious food but disappointed in the takeout! I ordered the black tan tan, my order was missing chashu (pork belly) and the marinated egg. That's major ingredients missing! Overall, delicious despite essential ingredients missing. Takoyaki is one of the best!

This place has really long wait times so just be prepared. Great service and great food. The Gyoza’s and spicy red miso ramen was really good. We added corn, an egg and extra chili and garlic oil which seemed to really bring out the flavours. Can’t wait to be back!

Really tasty ramen and friendly staff that deserves the 5 stars. We also ordered the chicken karagee and we enjoyed every piece as well. Had to wait for at least an hour for a table for 2 but in the end it was quite worth it.

Amazing ramen! Super busy though, so reservations recommended if possible. Also takeout seems like a much more efficient option if you call ahead. Friendly staff and great, thick and tasty broth! A+
