I visited this branch to close an account I opened online, I was told I need two forms of ID which I provided my driver license and health card, but the teller instead i provide a work permit orc a study permit. I felt discriminated when the teller insisted I need a work permit because I believe he thought I was an international student as I’m south Asian.
Also I noticed the teller was not rude to other people just people of south Asian decent.
But I visited a different branch in Waterloo (ira needles and erb) they closed my account with one ID and waived the partial account fee
My biggest issue I was told I need to provide two pieces of ID to close an account when only one is needed. RBC train ur staff not be rude and give out correct information

Poor management, advisors have no idea what they are doing and don't let you know the right times lines in getting anything transferred. When they mess up they don't take accountability for anything.

I could not be more dissapointed. To shorten my problem, I has having trouble with online banking. After a hospital stay post grand-mal seizure I wasn't excited to go into a branch, but I did. The trouble with the online banking wasn't my fault, rather a system error. But rather than address that, they closed down my account. I was stressed and agitated and in terrible pain, when my teller loudly announced I was close to my overdraft limit, embarrassing me. I said nothing. Then the branch manager came to assist with the problem; this woman is a nightmare in heels. She was rude, did not do anything to validate the situation, did not communicate clearly, then accused me of being unkind and telling me I could go if I wanted to (not asking me to leave, just mocking me). I was never mean or abrasive towards either of them. Agitated at the situation? Absolutely. Then she accused me of having been marked a problematic customer and marched away. The teller continued to try to help me, with seemingly less urgency or respect. I went over all my current ID and could easily answer security questions, this isn't enough. He was snickering at me. I could feel tears welling up and I asked if he could return my birth certificate, as I was done with my visit. He asked if I was sure. I told him after many seizures and broken bones, I didnt feel I could handle it.especially after having been embarrassed in front of the bank by his announcement of my financial status then the manager's outright aggressive attitude. He seemed sympathetic for a moment and apologized, and I said I appreciated the apology if it was genuine.

All for me.to try to pay a 15 dollar banking fee. WOW. I'm glad I already have plans to leave RBC. Least human service, terrible investing options and fees, and funds so many projects that damage our earth.

I would like to withdraw my resp investment for some personal reasons. They ask me a lot of questions like: why do you have to withdraw this money? Were you forced by anyone to withdraw money from it? You must pay back grant the government gave you? You have to pay taxes on the profits you invest. A series of questions I answered and I feel they didn't want me to withdraw the money I had invested.
The last person is also the third person who can be the manager or advisor here. After he said to us have to pay tax on our investment and we also agreed, but in the end he said he couldn't make this transaction and asked us to call the rbc customer service to resolve it. I feel uncomfortable and unsatisfied with his solution. Why didn't you say from the beginning that you couldn't do this service? They wasted our time and I don’t want to come back here again.

I know one cashier at this branch that should try a career as a border official.
Thank you sir for making sure my business account is secure but don't treat me like a criminal everytime I visit this branch.

Poor support. Had to wait in queue for 30 min for small query. There were lot of counters and only one advisor was available.

I am recent graduate and wanted to renew my student credit card which has been expired. So I scheduled an appt in person at a RBC Waterloo branch. Even I was hired 10 months ago by a tech company making more than 60k a year as full-time regular employee, even I'm getting a new work visa for 3 years (proved), even I’ve been a great RBC customer moving a lot of money for the last 2 years and shared the account with my common-law who makes more 40k, and EVEN I said that I was willing to make a SECURED CREDIT CARD for now (while I renew my visa), the Advisor Sunny Liu advised me to go look OTHER banks options to get a credit card! Way to go, Sunny - that’s exactly what I am going to do: open an account with another bank!

Poor Customer Service. There is an old lady who’d doesn’t have about customer service or the knowledge about the services that bank provides. I was provided false information.
