Terrible management.
Worst service I’ve seen all over Canada.
This location sucks …
Doesn’t matter it’s weekdays or Friday
Evening or morning
There will be 20 to 30 minutes queue every time,
It just painful to wait 30 minutes for any service even after you pay monthly fee for better service…

Please do not choose this location / bank in barrhaven…

Make sure you leave yourself a whole day to do your banking. Tellers are soooooo sloooooow and do not make up for it with pleasantness either.

I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the level of service I received at the RBC Barrhaven location. On Friday October 20,2023. I visited the branch with the intention of opening a savings account, a decision I had made to entrust my financial resources with RBC. Unfortunately, the experience was far from what I expected.

From the very beginning of my visit, I was met with a dismissive and discourteous attitude from several members of your staff. The rudeness and lack of respect displayed were not only unprofessional but also deeply upsetting. I felt that my questions and concerns were not taken seriously, and I was made to feel like an inconvenience rather than a valued customer.

It is disheartening to have encountered such behavior in an institution that prides itself on providing top-notch customer service. I believe that a positive and respectful attitude towards clients is paramount in building and maintaining trust. My experience at the Barrhaven branch has shaken my confidence in RBC as a whole.

I hope that you take this complaint seriously and investigate the matter thoroughly. It is crucial for the reputation of RBC and the well-being of its customers that incidents like this are addressed promptly. I strongly urge you to ensure that the staff at the Barrhaven branch are reminded of the importance of respectful and courteous behavior towards all customers. This place deserves a 0 star.

This branch of RBC is closest to my home and we always do transaction from here. We never had any issues.

Claire helps us with our investments and she is very much experienced and super easy to approach.

We also got our mortgage from the mortgage advisor Mike Shen and he went above and beyond to get us the best rate. I would definitely recommend Mike for mortgages.

Went in today for a mutual fund withdrawl and was met with some initial issues, and then Terrence and Karen came to the rescue and were extremely efficient and helpful. Very thorough explanations and just overall a good experience.

Zero stars, not 1.

After waiting 18mins in line to see one of 3 tellers I land with Elvira. I gave her very specific instructions on what I needed done, and then I repeated twice just in case because she seemed confused when it was a straight forward everyday banking request.

She went ahead did the opposite of what I asked. Turns out it's not reversible and she nonchalantly says oh I'm sorry.
Will never return to this location, rather drive 10+km than deal with this branch. Considering cancelling all my accounts all together and going elsewhere at this point.and I've been with RBC for 15 years+. That's how frustrating this branch is.

For this branch RBC stands for Return Back Customers! Treated us like we're Noobs. Not going here ever. Lady claiming she worked in the "office" got so much attitude like her Dad runs the bank. People like us run the bank! So learn some basics about customer service.

I wish I could give 0 stars. Bad customer service, no cash on site (trying the withdrawal 1000$) they said I need to call ahead of time for a large amount.

Staff is incompetent and manager is inexistant

I went there for first time and had to wait about 45 mins before reaching to a teller (there was only 4-5 people infront of me with 3 teller serviing 3 people at that moment)

While waiting I thought their service isn't great so I looked at the review and WOW.so many 1 stars.

Then when my turn came, the teller couldn't produce a bank draft without properly. It was either printer issue or human error.the last name kept gone missing from the bank draft. Then the printer stopper working completely. It took 4-5 bank draft, cancel, re print, ask colleagues then it finally worked.

If you want to spend over 70-80 mins just for a simple transaction then this is your go to branch.

Otherwise, you may want to find another one.

If I could give this bank negative stars I would. I submit a money order one day and come in three days later and deposit another one. The first transaction was done with zero issues and zero holds, and the teller even told me he didn’t need to put a hold on the money. Three days later I went back in to deposit another money order for roughly the same amount. This time I get this asian lady that seemed nervous from the time I walked in. I give her the money order, insert my debit card, etc.then she starts to ask me for all this personal information and asking me for me address and phone number and things I’ve never been asked to present before. She just kept typing and typing, I had a the feel like she was stalling for the police or something. This was also after she completed what I asked of her to do, so I could have left and gone on with my day but she made feel like a scammer she was trying to put a tracker on. She told me the computer system prompted her to ask these questions and when I ask her why she couldn’t answer me. I believe I was profiled because of the way I looked that day and what I was doing. It has happened to me 3 times at this very same bank and they don’t even have the decency to apologize even though she’s messed up my Christmas bills and shopping plans. I asked to speak to the manager 4 times because she didn’t want to get her, then she finally goes to get her and just like any manager covering for their employees, I’m in the wrong and the employee is right. All she had for me was a regurgitation of what the teller was telling me so she was zero help and didn’t seem like she cared who she was talking to either, she just made me feel even worse. I commented on here just to blow off steam, I know nothing will come of this and the teller wont learn anything and she’ll just keep doing it but maybe it can be used as a important piece of information for the next Black man that wants to deposit two money orders into his bank account within the same week. Choose another bank all together, KING.

My parents have been clients of RBC for over 20 years, and today they had the worst experience at this location, they just came back from there feeling disrespected and contempt. While they were greeted well upon their arrival to this branch especially when they saw my mom who uses a cane, they were directed to go to the lane. There was no one in line so they walked up to the teller who seemed to be free. The teller rudely told my mom that the line starts there, and pointed her finger towards that spot. My mom who has difficulties walking asked her now that she is there and that she can’t keep going back and forth, does she still need to back in line, the teller rudely answered her again saying that she was still with a client. My mom only walked up to the teller when she saw that the client that she had, had already left. My parents walked out and did not seek service from anyone else on that branch, and trust me, never will. This is a disgusting treatment that my senior parents received, there is a better way to talk to people, let alone client, so this staff clearly needs to be trained on customer service and educated…. The only time they might see me again at this branch, it’s to file a formal complaint. I believe the teller I am referring to will recognize herself.

Unfortunately, the services at this branch leave much to be desired. Long waiting lines (a couple of weeks ago I was number 14 inline) ; manager is not available. Manager does not respond to messages or to requests for phone calls. A staff member insisted she had no access to the information I was requesting; yet another staff in another branch was able to find the answers on the spot.

I love the place and the lady who opened the account for me and my wife was so helpful and kind, she answered all our questions and concerns, I arecommand this brand for all newcomers, go see Miss Ping!

This bank is not about customer service, unfortunately the company I work for uses this bank and this branch is close to my house! Was in today 4 tellers yet only 1 taking customers. And Line up had 7 people… they just ignore you!
