Went in with my 85 yr old mom to put my name on her account and ask about a paper format for tax slip. Teller had such a strong accent my mom couldn’t understand her at all, I had to guess once I got a word or two. She said since I’m not a RBC client I couldn’t be added to mom’s account. If RBC hires tellers/staff they should be sure clients can understand the employees.

A Warning to #Newcomers: Exercise Caution Before Entering This Branch.

I decided to create a new account online because I had heard so many excellent things about RBC since moving to Canada. However, things went horribly wrong when I went to the nearby branch and met Mr. Sohrab Salehrad, a banking advisor. He asked several peculiar questions, and it appeared as though he might be fresh and not yet properly trained, which made me nervous.

He insisted that I needed a work permit despite the fact that I had only been a Permanent Resident for a week. I first made the decision to cancel my accounts despite the attractive newcomer promotions. Later, I changed my mind and chose to check again by calling customer service. My eligibility was confirmed, and they graciously planned a meeting for me at a different branch close by.

I was relieved to learn that I was qualified and that my application had been approved when I visited the new branch. To make sure that their clients didn't suffer the same difficulties I had, I wanted to share my experience with other newbies and the branch management. It is essential that staff personnel are knowledgeable and offer new consumers competent help.

If I could vote 0, I would. Branch and RBC as well. When car loan paid off a month ago, but they keep withdraw from account.

This branch is the worst. Every time you go easily in the line you will be spending 40 minutes. I will be moving my business to another Bank. RBC step up your game open the East Gwillimbury branch again for daily customer transactions.

On October 27,2022, my father and I showed up at the branch with an issue pertaining to fraud on his account. I was pretty frustrated at this point because I had already spoken to the call centre for two hours with no help or results. When I went in person to this branch location, the store manager was really helpful and caring. As stressful as the experience was, I was really happy that this store manager was able to support my father despite the language barrier and frustration. I would personally like to take the time to thank the team at this location.

This branch is weird. Won’t knock the individual that made me think this but financial advice should come with an amicable spirit and someone shouldn’t feel profiled or be told that specific services “are for rich people” when you haven’t even presented your own financial status or whatever would indicate you’re “a rich person”. Thing is…the service I was told was for “rich people” I met and passed the threshold by a long shot…this really was the deciding factor of if to keep my business with this bank and guess what…I closed all business based on that weird conversation. Hope folks have better experiences if they choose this branch for services.

I went to this Newmarket location in February 2022 for the first time as my local branch was closed. The banking teller had the nerve to ask me what brings you to this location is there not a location near your home. I was so appalled of what she said I was immediately upset. Like what does it matter what bank location to go. Just do your job and service clients to their satisfactory.
This bank location has very poor service, staff has much attitude and if your a minority DO NOT go to this location you will be profiled.

With one of My sons who was looking to make changes to his student account
The teller called the advisor he came to meet us and told us them at he would call us within 2 hrs never called, very disappointed as we needed to make those changes quickly same day

Very disappointed, My son will be changing banks to get better service

I have been with RBC for over 25 years truly makes me wonder

Awful Bank.my experience in the past two months:

Alex Hall, Banking Advisor didn't take my calls or emails to finish setting up my business account for almost 3 weeks and he even said "I will check the VM and get back to you today" 1.5 weeks into me waiting and never got back to me. Later I found out he made mistakes when setting up my business account.

After finally getting my account set up by going into the branch and speaking with the manager my new business credit card came two weeks later and doesn't work.after making my way up the ladder with 5 DIFFERENT support agents on the phone no one could fix it! It's been 5 days and it still doesn't work. Their only solution they offered is to wait longer. So I basically don't have a credit card that works now.

I can't speak for the quality of other banks but this bank is awful.

Really poor costumer service, I went today to apply for a line of credit and they wasted my time because they assigned me an advisor that she didn’t have any clue what she was doing, hope they educate better the advisors.

They have changed the ATM to eliminate envelopes. Tried to cash my pay cheque and scanner rejects it despite the fact there is nothing wrong with the printed cheque. Branch closed for the weekend. Meanwhile monthly fees keep rising. I need to move to another bank.

It is hard to find good customer service specially in banking business. I have a business in Aurora. I like Ashley and Sarah Customer service with professional, fast and knowledgeable tellers at this branch. I recommend Ashley and Sara according to keep my privacy and account safe and secure. I went to this branch to do a deposit, and had no idea that I could do majority of my banking online.
I met with Sara, she was so patient and helpful, she walked me through OLB and I deposited my cheque through the RBC app.
I highly recommend this branch, and specially for farsi speaking clients, Sara is the BEST.

Sara and Dani were absolutely amazing to work with. I was able to open a business account via email all in 1 day! They provided an amazing customer service and she made necessary follow-ups to ensure I had everything I needed. Thank you so much!

I always go to this branch when I need assistance or have questions about my business account or Visa. Every staff person I have dealt with here has been helpful and friendly and gone out of their way to answer my questions and assist me.

I have had issues with the account that i opened here since June 2019.

I still dont have access to my advisor! I finally escalated my own ticket to the senior digital team on Oct 19th and STILL nothing.

Might be switching back to CIBC soon

Absolutely hate this Bank only currently have a Master card with them and so far from pleased with the card and the company as a whole. Its frustrating trying to get help because no one seems to be educated on the company fully in order to provide the best service necessary. They are beyond rude, have no patience, and by far has the worst customer service I've seen in any bank institution. I suppose when raked one of the top rated banks in terms of products, customer care doesn't have to matter and it shows.

Wish I could give more stars, as I've had pleasant experiences with the tellers. Alas I called ahead asking if I could open a business account for a certain type of business but didn't want to waste time coming in for a meeting if they didn't think it was feasible. I was told yes no problem RBC would have no issue with it, and lets set up an appointment. So here I go to the appointment with Nancy and am told within 30 seconds of the meeting that oh we don't do business with that industry.

Maybe have everyone in your Corporation on the same page as not to waste others time.

Open an account with RBC at this location mr dani was really amazing helpfull and answer all my questions that i had. I was satisfied i would recomend to go and see him for any banking related concerns.

It’s just a constant headache!
One of your employees made false notes on my account! Made me look like I’m doing fraudulent things!
Dealt with them yesterday, they “took” the hold off, next day and the hold is back on my account.
So unnecessary, ruined my week.
