Real Canadian Superstore

I have gone here on 3 different random weekday evenings over the past 3 months, as it is on my way home from work so I am tempted to pop in and get a few items for dinner fromt ime to time. I will not do so again. Each time the checkout area has been a chaotic mess, far too few cashiers and long unorganized lines that are policed by the customers by necessity, as there are no staff around to assist. The rest of the store is quiet, not too busy, so I can't imagine the checkout situation here on a busy pre-holiday evening or something. This place has the cashier staffing of a store 1/4 the size. The registers are there, mostly unused. If the staffing issue is unsolvable then at least invest in some basic organization, some sort of signage and queue boundaries to make it less stressful. Get someone to point people in the right direction, as the cashiers have their hands full already trying to quickly get customers checked out.

It's not worth it to me to spend 5 minutes grabbing last minute items to wait for 25-30 minutes in a stressful line, constantly having to keep others from cutting in front. All this to pay Loblaws prices! No thanks, there's no shortage of grocery stores in North York, I won't be tempted by this Superstore again.

Always go here for vegetables, freshly baked bread, sweet pastries, and I've never had a problem with the quality of the goods. It's big in here so for the most part I can always find what I'm looking for. Maybe the specific brand isn't there but there will be a good substitution.

Great store! Huge variety of products.
I founded small bottles of water, which were very nice to have in the women's fashion purse.
You could find them only in Walmart before.

UPDATE: tried this place again this morning. Between the butcher trying to pass off wing steak as striploin, and the self checkout guy not honoring the scanning code of practice, I don't think I'll be wasting any more of my time at this store.

Rude staff. Not all, but some, The Manager must know who they are.

They tend to work at Self-checkout.

I stopped coming in here completely because the staff is so unwelcoming it's not worth being treated that way just for some groceries.

The staff I am talking about are older than 25. One is African, the other is maybe Indian or African? They're always at self checkout. They treat you like trash for even saying "Thank You" to them.

No thanks. I'll drop my $300 or whatever a week somewhere else from now on.

Whoever is hiring front end staff is doing a terrible job because these veterans haven't been fired yet. A lot of your new staff is nice.

Hot food at attractive prices, various offers and the classic President's Choice brand

Pretty good grocery store. Never too busy and there's always parking. Located in a great place, close to other shopping essentials. Prices are always fair and they have quite the selection of foods (both Canadian/domestic and international). Its also cool that they offer some home items, as well as toys and other products you may associate with Walmart.

Sprawling location. Line ups can get long and wind around the store.plan your in-store route lol

The Store has been pleasantly changed with a new manager Mrs. Margaret. She always reacts fast about complains or basic questions. Customer service was improved (new nice and pleasant stuff as a Jonathan, Den and few more that I don't know their names), and unfortunately rudeness, ignorance and unfriendliness are still there (associate named Martha). Shelves are clean, products are good, prices are bites, but I love the Price Match Program. Also it would be good to feel more positivity and less robotic from Customer Service Management.

Large selection of products with a massive home and health/beauty sections. Checkout is quick even with lines and social distancing.

Neat, clean and spacious. Produce was fresh. Not much help around though. The line up was confusing a little. They could make it clearer and more efficient. The international food ingredients collection is really good.

This was my go to superstore. It fell off so hard. 25+ people in line 2 cashiers only. No cart employee. Countless of other employees standing around and talking. Dont blame them. Shame on the store manager.

When you gratefully thank an employee for assistance at the salad bar and they respond with “yeah, yeah, whatever” then it’s probably time to switch stores. Same goes with the never ending check out line as the person managing it often bails out with it becoming a huge traffic jam.

I used to go to Walmart, Freshco etc
. But this is my new go to store. You would find everything here. Wide variety of fresh fruit, fresh baked chicken, salad, you name it. Not a good place if you are looking for halal. Option are very limited.other than that you have almost everything here

Some of the staff there need retraining with proper customer service, during this pandemic customer service has suffered immensely, as well many people have suffered greatly but that does not mean that customer service should suffer
I was treated extremely poorly by a cashier and not in all my years have I ever been spoken to in the manner that I was spoken to it is there for the reason why I have given the real Canadian Superstore a poor rating, the selection is exceptional but if you have poor customer service then it means nothing

My favorite real Canadian store. The only thing is the rude workers telling you which line to go in. Im not deaf! If you can't buy non essential items now.like clothing, then close the section off.

The Manager' store doesn't know the correct information about the items on sell l asked for a fire pit table and he said no more for sell, so why is in display in the store when they don't have any more l hate that very bad service l tried to find in the store for someone help me and not body was there at that area.

The curbside service is outstanding. However, please compare their prices, they are almost always higher than other places.

Worst curbside pick up service. First of all, you can only select a particular timeslot which, in principle, it's a good concept, however the timeslots fill up pretty fast so the only available ones are a couple of days away from placing the order. Most of the stores have the order available for pick up within 2-3 hours from placing the order.

Second, they are the only ones that are charging extra for the curbside pick up service.

Third, despite selecting a pick up slot, I still had to wait a significant amount of time in the car for the order to come out, again more than any other store.

Covid safety regulations are what we have here. Can't complain about any shopping here. Come and enjoy Canadian products and try to keep our CDN $ within our country.

The store in general is ok. Recently when I go to this location there are never carts available. I have to get it myself from the parking lot.

The Joe Fresh area and housewares department, are both open and allowing shoppers to purchase. Shame on Loblaws!

I really miss shopping here for furniture and kitchen stuffs. I guess the Renovation I saw during last visit is taking away more space for online shopping?

This is the only store in the area where I can find so many sugar free items and alternatives. The store even has sugar free baking chocolate chips. I enjoy shopping in the store.

The store rep at self checkout was treating people of there background
People from her own background she helps them politely and she is shouting at other customers from different background.

I was racial profiled by a store manager at this location. While shopping at this store, I had asked a representative at the click & collect counter how I would go about purchasing paper plates as they are not considered essential. The representative advised there is signage in the store with a phone number to call to place orders and then we would have to pickup curbside. I followed steps as advised and called where another associate advised I will need to pay at customer service. There I was met with hostility by a manager named Alana. I tried to explain what I was told when she started barking at like I was her child she was repremanding. As a people manager myself it was very evident that Alana did not like dealing with the customers. She kept saying I have to go outside, when I tried to explain what TWO previous associates had advised, she dismissed me and started dealing with another customer. Irate at this point I asked for a manager, she said she is and continued to ignore me. I asked how do I escalate and abruptly she said "I am dealing with a customer" and continued to ignore me. Why did she feel it ok to serve other customers when we weren't finished but did have the wherewithal when dealing a Caucasian customer? When I asked to speak to the store manager, she went on a call an walked away. I had to ask another associate if the store manager was coming which she reluctantly advised "she is calling her now" and also walked away. I returned all I had purchased and spoke to Margaret the store manager to complain, she provided a $50 gift card for the service we received. I have written a complaint about six days ago but still have gotten no resolution. Will not shop at this location, I think I won't be shopping at ANY RealCanadian stores period. If I am giving misinformation by your associates, why on earth would Alana feel comfortable disrespecting me if front other customer as if I am nothing?

The cashier lady was so rude to the few customers infront of us. It was an older lady light brown hair and light eyes didn’t catch her name but she was SO BOTHERED at everything. Ma’am all u have to do is scan items and press buttons and ask them if they have a rewards card CALM DOWN. My boyfriend and I were so shocked at how rude and disrespectful she was. She threw the receipt on the belt as the lady put out her hand to grab it. We were so shocked.

Got some serious negative attitude from a cashier with yellow dyed hair. She had an issue with me buying beer and saying she couldn't process the sale.yet there was a sign saying beer purchase right on the cash register. After removing beer and going through the cash and purchasing the remaining items I noticed I had forgotten an item on lower part of cart. She processed item then informed me I could purchase beer at the courtesy counter across the aisle. Why did she not tell me this at the outset of the transaction. Serious attitude issue here.

I don’t know why people say the produce selection is good. 9/10 times I find rotting produce. 8/10 times they have very limited selection of produce.

Also have mixed reviews about staff. Some are really great, but one time I had a horrific custom service department experience. The two ladies working the counter were chatting to one another while I stood there and waited. Even the cashier who directed me to go over there tried asking them to serve me, to which the one girl replied “ya, I know she’s there” and just went back to her conversation. The cashier who originally helped me apologized profusely and stopped everything to help me. She said she was even shocked by that.

Good choice of things to shop but be ready for HUGE lines to check our. For such massive store they often have only 1 our of 20 registers open with huge lineups and no desire to open more registers.

The produce is the worst part of this store. I always do my grocery shopping as soon as they open at 7am because I want to beat the crowds. At 7 am is when they are stocking shelves and produce. 8 out of 10 times I don't get what I need because for some reason they can have everything stocked before the store opens. Check the expiry dates on products because they don't. I've seen items that have expiry dates from last year! They NEVER have enough cashiers and staff is not readily available to help. Cashiers aren't friendly, as they never greet me or my children when they say hi. And they don't have family parking

Huge store like in the US. Sells clothes, food, Dr's offices. Kosher section if you're intetested. & prepared food too.
It's a Loblaws store.

Absolutely huge full service grocery store. Best to have reviewed their flyer before visiting. Regular prices are usually high, but willingness to price match makes this mega store a winner. Includes an optician and walk-in clinic. Fairly lame effort to cater to ethnic tastes, but fairly serious effort on organic food.

Stop selling prepared food superstore!

I'm insulted that you charged me $10 for 2 pieces of beaded chili chicken. Only to get home and discover they were completely inedible. Dry and so tough that i was having trouble cutting it with with a steak knife. Absolutely revolting.

If you can't guarantee your prepared food is even edible, don't sell it!

Visited for shopping. At checkout woman in front could not pay a $525 bill. Asked to suspend until husband arrived. Cashier "Natasha" walked away and never returned. 4 people were in line, myself included. She never said a word. Had to reload basket and goto another cashier after waiting 10 min.
Generally a good store but huge issues with paying. Lots of cash out lines. During the week. Very poorly staffed. Maybe 2 of approx 15 open. They have self checkout but always busy and frequently broken. For the money it costs, I expect better

This location at Dufferin and Steeles is my favourite. The store is large with a huge variety of merchandise. There is options for reasonably priced clothing for the whole family and a small shoe selection for kids. Plenty of baked goods and a bakery. There is a hot food station, prepacked meals to bake and a seafood station. Good selection of cheese and for pairing there is a small selection of basic wine and other alcohol. There is a Kosher section and an organic food section. There are small household elctronics and selection of kitchen items such as crockery, baking utensils, barbecue utensils etc Of course all ypur regular groceries and speciality freezer items are also stocked.

Love the fact that its always well stocked, prices are great and they give you free stuff if you spend more than 200 bucks.

This my go to grocery store for a reason. Produce is fresh, selection is huge, and price is about average for Toronto (; ()

This is a large local grocery that is satisfactory. They have a vast variety of items and some items on sale. The customer service is good and the parking is free.

There are items on various shelves, arranged into aisles. After selecting the items that you want, there is an option to exchange them for a set amount of currency.

I had a bad experience with some of the staff I was waiting way to long for service and I was the only customer in the line lol

I do always comes here. My last shopping is the worst. Self check out machine 2 where not working for long time.them I moved to one cashier slower than a turtle.they should know that cashering should be fast to avoid long line ups.

Huge store, well lit and good deals on groceries. The line ups for the cashiers were a little long, but that was mostly due to people with large amounts of groceries.
