Red Seal Notary

Today I was in the office in downtown. Everything was fast, high quality and professional. I recommend it.

Red Seal Notary is the best! We were there a bit nervous because we needed to sign some attestation. I had never done that before, so I was a little bit scared. It was refreshing to talk to the lawyer, she explained the quick process and made it easy for me to understand. She was also very friendly, which immediately made me feel comfortable and lowered my stress. I feel she could be our new best friend lol. It was definitely the highlight of my day! Thank you dear lawyer for making our complicated lives easier, and thank you for showing us that you care about your clients.

Friendly staff and fast service. If you’re looking for a walk-in service, this is the place to go.

I went there last week, the lady was rude, she wasn’t nice at all. I would recommend checking other places.

The service is fast, efficient, and reasonably priced. The downtown location is convenient, and there is a variety of services available. However, it has been observed by multiple reviewers that the staff does not pass objects/documents directly to customers' hands, instead opting to toss them on the table or desk. This behavior is seen as odd and somewhat rude. The motivation behind this habit is unclear. Addressing this issue may lead to improved customer satisfaction. Giving 4 stars for that.

I was unable to schedule an appointment and I had to go two different times at130 Albert Street, Ottawa (Walk-in Location). Excellent service, easy to arrive there using public transportation. I recommend it!

THE SERVICE:
The signature authentication process was new to us, especially when no clear guidance on required documents is provided on our Embassy website. We weren't told that photos of each applicant and birth certificate for newborns are required to complete the process for children. The Notary explained it thoroughly and we felt comfortable with his advice and procedure. This is to say that delays or service rejection/interruptions are due to lack of information. We also appreciated the little chat at the end about notarization processes and how they change across the world.

THE COST:
We have experienced other notaries services, and the service fee overall is not very different from what is practised around, but when you add the walk-in option, it is definitely a huge advantage when you don't want to plan things ahead. In other cities, the one must book an appointment and wait 1-2 weeks to get things done.

OVERALL:
Convenient service and great overall experience, I would highly recommend!

Don’t go to that place! That lady is so rude, I have never experienced anything like it before! Total disappointment! You charge almost $56 to notarize a single document and you do not have the courtesy to hand it to the client hand to hand. She just threw the document on the table, same thing with the receipt and the envelope. If there was an option to give 0 or lower I would have.

I came to notarize a simple letter today. I have lived in Canada for 31 years. I have never seen such a rude and indifferent person.

I like that they have walk-in services but the lady there who signed my papers was horrible. She doesn't seem to know what she is supposed to be doing, yet she put the blame on me. She initially refused to sign my papers and threw them on the table and turned her back on me saying the instructions are so clear and that she can't sign them. After trying for a while she looked again at the papers and when she realized that she made a mistake she said "you answered wrong". She was just horrible and intimidating! Don't spend your money on someone who will treat you poorly!

She was polite, kind and professional. She stayed AFTER working hours to notarize multiple documents (I walked in a few minutes before closing time).
She had it done in a few minutes, I honestly thought it was going to take weeks.

I've been to this place to notarize documents for three times and each time I had a great experience. The notary public I met was very professional, efficient and friendly. This place offers walk-in services, so I didn't need to book appointments in advance.

The list for disliking this place and don’t ever recommending its services to anyone is endless. Extremely rude staff; poor communication between head office, staff and client; complete lack of care about the client’s business; no empathy or respect; no hand sanitizer provided (even after having to touch the finger print machine) ; and it goes on. My visit was a complete caos, the lady treated my as if she was doing me a favour (and probably a very dirty one) as nothing explains being rude to a client who did nothing to you other than, in a polite and normal tone, questioned about the service costs. I ended up being asked to remove myself from the room, while the lady stepped towards me in a very threatening manner.

I needed to get some documents notarized and passport photos certified. I was seen very quickly, received great customer service, and the agent was knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. I highly recommend, not only for the quick and reliable service, but also because she had very good COVID measures in place. I will be coming back here if I need any other documents notarized.

Needed my passport certifying and it was done in 3 mins, no appointment which is convenient during covid times:) Very safe protocols to inhibit any kind of communicable disease transmissions. I recommend this service.

I needed my fingerprints taken and I walked in without an appointment. The Agent was very welcoming, had a bubbly personality with exceptional professional customer service.

Walked in few minutes passed their closing time.i was attended to in the most professional way. They are highly recommended and I'll definitely be going here hence forth.

If you are getting a document notarized for Korean government, this Notary republic is not accepted by Korean Embassy, so you will have to go to Global affairs to get the document authenticated again before bringing it to embassy. This was a little troublesome, because if I got it notarized by registered lawyer, it could have been much simpler. So recommend going to lawyers who does notarization service if you need to bring the doc to Korean Embassy to get it apostilled. Overall service was quick and relatively cheaper than other places.

The lawyer at the office 130 Albert street was not professional and very impolite. Although she claims to have 12 years experience, she couldn’t file a simple school board guardianship forms. All the concerned parties were present and had their ID’s. Worst part is that she waisted 30 minutes of our time doing nothing but looking at the firm. Lol! Worst service ever to get.

I went there a few months ago to have a Power of Attorney letter notarized. Love that it’s a walk-in location, the notary on duty was quick and friendly. I recommend it.

(Nothing to do with the notary, just a note of advice for people in the same situation as me: In case you have a Power of Attorney letter coming from the USA, after having it notarized - and before going to the US Embassy to have it apostilled - you need to go to Global Affairs Canada to have your letter authenticated. You’re welcome!)

The notary in downtown Ottawa was quick, efficient, and friendly. I needed a document notarized right away, and I called around, but no one was able to help. My flights are scheduled in two days, and needed notarization urgently. Highly recommend. When I explained my situation, they understood, and were willing to help. Mumtaaz! Excellent!

Bad customer service all around

Had to go twice because the staff did not want to process my fingerprinting the first time even though it was 15 minutes before closing. Both times felt like my business was not welcomed and I was a burden. $60 for 5-10 minutes of her time doesn’t seem so bad?

Honestly if you like to be dismissed and spoken to like a child who’s bothering an annoyed parent, by all means this is the place for you. Otherwise, your patience, time, and money is better spent elsewhere.

I could not get a hold of my lawyer to do up this letter of consent.for my daughter to travel. Someone at the office told me about Red Seal service which was two blocks from my office. I used their online template, filled in the information and went to the office with the letter printed out. The transaction was done in less than 10 minutes. Very pleasant and professional.
