I just can’t say enough about the whole situation we had here. No hot water since Saturday. 4 days. Everything from the call to the company Reliance. The lady I first talked too was so incredibly helpful and patient with me. Then one man came the next day and found he needed a crew to get this done. Our water tank was so stuck in the wall, it wasn’t coming out. They put a new one in a closet for me. Nicest crew I have ever worked with. From beginning to end. They have our business for life…. Highly recommend this company. They gave me an end to my emergency quickly….

Called reliance to check out my furnace through the heating protection plan. John the tech they sent was a super nice guy and very informative. Did lots of checks to ensure the furnace was in good order and fixed the issue I was having. Had a good experience.

Very polite and friendly electrician. I explained what happened and he was able to diagnose the problem and made repairs. Due to his experience and knowledge it was done quick and efficiently.

I had 2 separate repair people come to diagnose an issue with my heater, they both thought it was the valve.they ordered it and an appointment was set for the repair. A different repair man came to fix the issue, and it turns out it had nothing to do with the valve and they needed to order a new part and not would take a further 3 days to have someone come back and fix the issue.

To me, this is pretty brutal.

Tonight my husband and I upgraded our furnace and got an air conditioner with the assistance and knowledge of Peter Boyer.
Peter went above what I have ever experienced before from a service like Reliance.
He came to our house to discussed everything with us and helped provide us with the best package for our needs.

I have been a loyal customer for a few years now. In fact, this is my second review. My first one was glowing.

I just had Reliance come in to clear a drain - it's never been a problem. Today, ANDREW cleared it and informed me that unclogging drains is no longer included in my plan (it will be around $150 next time). He went on (in the foulest language) saying that they changed the policy 'down south' due to slumlords taking advantage of it instead of "doing the work themselves. " He showed me a price list, and nowhere on it did it show "the new discounted price" for unclogging drains. As he was showing it, he said, "These are the prices they charge in Toronto, but Sudbury people are cheap and don't want to pay. "

Once he left, I called the Reliance call center - they are always helpful - and I asked them about the "new policy. " It turns out that it was a COMPLETE LIE! " What his motive was - I have no idea.
Perhaps to scam customers into giving him money?

For the record, I call about three times per year - max (sometimes less), and EVERY OTHER technician I've had has been beyond wonderful.

I will be visiting the Sudbury site this week to hopefully speak in person to a supervisor.

I’m editing my review today as my overall experience with Reliance has not been all positive. The sales experience with Bill has been good. Bill was great at explaining everything and listening to what we needed. The installation services was impeccable.
The customer service and billing department are no good. I have trusted this company with my banking information and they have broken that trust by taking payments that were not in the signed agreement that we had. When I reached customer service, all I was told is that there would be an internal investigation and that if it was found that there was a mistake made on their part, an adjustment to my account would be made within 2 billing cycle (which is unacceptable). When I reached out the Bill, the sales representative one week ago, he apologized and said someone from the billing department would get in touch with me. I have heard from no one since.
So my conclusion is that they should not be trusted as they will give you great service at first to get you to sign a contract, but after that they will just do as they please and the customer service no longer matters.

John S was the Technician who came today for the annual service maintenance appointment. He was curteous, knowledgeable, efficient, thorough, answered all our questions. Made helpful suggestions to get the temperatures more equal on our 4 levels both in summer and in winter. Was never suggested to us before. Will help us reduce our gas costs. We rate him 10 out of 10. We would request he be the one to do all our service calls or needs in the future. Thanks John.

Water heater replaced. The technician that came was exceptionally courteous, friendly and professional. Did a great job on the replacement. Couldn’t have gone smoother. Thank you Quincey. We asked for a quote for a new furnace and got a call from a salesman who was less than interested in providing a quote. Only wanted us to buy by tomorrow or the 25% off deal was over. Left a bad impression. To. Ad the salesman was not as good as the repairman!

The workers were on time and courteous. Took the time to explain the equipment and the work they were going to perform. They were clean and tidy and they respected our space. They followed COVID-19 protocols. The work was professional and there was attention to the details. Simply stated, a good experience and I highly recommend them.

Great experience as always. Booked my appointment easily via the call centre and two Reliance staff were here the next morning (on time and called ahead) to replace my hot water tank. Both staff were friendly and professional. The work was completed quickly and properly. They explained exactly what they were going to do before starting any of the work. As far as cleanup goes, you couldn't even tell they were here once they left and they were mindful of the carpet while they were working. Highly recommended.

The technician, Morgan, was very prompt and attentive. He replaced some rusty tank tops on my water heater and when I mentioned I was looking into converting energy sources, Morgan suggested adding shut off valves. These valves would make the transition easier once I make the changes. He was very patient and explained all of the work he was doing. Morgan was very professional and friendly. I would absolutely recommend Reliance to all of my friends and family.

I am no longer a customer of Reliance.

I made the mistake of renting an air conditioner from them, yeah, dumb move on my part, but at the time I wasn't interested in forking over the cash to pay for it outright. I was OK with the monthly cost, and for the most part the installation was fine. The repair techs were always good, no issues there.

The problem occurred when I went to refinance my house. I found out that Reliance put a lien against my property. None of the correspondence between myself and the sales rep indicated that this would happen. I probably would have reconsidered my rental if this was made clear.

Luckily I was able to find a decent enough person in the legal department to clear the lien.

Edit: I forgot to mention that they over value the equipment they use, so you pay a lot to clear the lien. It's wonderful

Edit #2: Learned that my chimney is failing because when they ducted my hot water tank through it, they didn't install ducting to the top of the chimney. We all know what happens when you incorporate warm moist air to brick in the winter.a freeze thaw cycle that wrecks mortar! So that's another 1200 dollars down the tube.

What I'm trying to say here is that you'll get screwed one way or another.

I decided after that I'd never have anything to do with this company again. I've got a couple of rentals now, and the first order of business is to remove any reliance equipment from the property.

Worse company ever dealt with. The sales Rep lied to me to get the sale on a central air system. So I got it and I have proof of his lies and they won't do anything to fix the issue. I have absolutely no cold air upstairs where all my bedrooms are so it's resulting in me my wife and one year old to sleep on the floor in my living room because they told me all my ducts are good and everything will cool perfect. Especially after asking him multiple times about up stairs being a bigger older house he assured me zero issues. After getting no ac upstairs the repair tech came took 3 seconds looking at the ducts to tell me they should not have even installed it like that. Horrible service and management

Bought a house with a rental tank installed but was disconnected and not in service (missing pieces as the house was a bank repo and old owner wasn’t very kind to it) so I’ve attempted to contact reliance multiple times to find out what is going on with “their” tank. First time no reply for a week, today while being transferred to a different representative to figure out what is going on I was hung up on as the hours of operation ended at 5pm, I had been on the phone since 3pm being put on hold many times untill I reached the cut off at 5. This company will do ANYTHING but help you.

Would never use this company again. Having issues with my AC unit where it wasn't blowing cold air. Service guy came out and looked at the machine and said there was nothing he could do because it was an older ac unit. And then on the invoice wrote that the compressor was turning on and off (shortcycling) and that comp is tripping. However he never turned on the AC unit to to even know that any of that was happening. He was her a total of 20 minutes 18 minutes of that was writing the invoice.
Absolutely terrible service.
