Woke up to our 30+ year old furnace having died. After trying to contact a few local repair companies we had no luck. Reliance had a great technician (Jason) to us promptly, and we determined together options for repair and that the furnace was end of life. A few short hours later an agent (Dustin) took the time to make an evening visit and talk us through our options. The next day our new furnace (and AC) were installed. After two days without luck elsewhere, the Reliance team had us back up running, and warm, inside of two days. Thanks.

My boiler had stopped working and as a result there was no hot water or heating. This was a problem as I have a baby in the home. I called Reliance and was able to get an appointment the same day. Piru the technician came soon after and rectified the issue. He was not only timely and professional but took the time the explain not only what the problem was but also how the entire system works and why the issue caused me to loose both hot water and heating. I have had technicians in the home before but this is the first time I was able to actually learn and understand what was going on. I found this to be very good and above and beyond what was required.

Thank you Piru for the great work and a very good experience. Definitely a quality service.

DON’T USE THIS COMPANY! Very poor customer service! Reliance billed my card for a service call and I was informed that the cost of the service call would be returned to the card if I rented a hot water tank from Reliance, which I did. It took four lengthy telephone calls and this matter is still not resolved. My next step is to have the tank removed and put on the curb and have a reliable company take care of my business. Empty promises.

We had a faulty valve on our hot water tank. Technician came out the same day we called. He was courteous and professional, and replaced the valve quickly and with great workmanship. Right after he left, we already noticed our water getting hotter. Thank you so much for the fantastic service!

I booked an appointment with this company and was told a representative would meet me at the unit a couple of days later at 9: 30am. I was asked repeatedly if I was the owner and I kept telling them I am the owner and that the unit is vacant at the moment. The next morning as I rushed to get to the unit, I received a text message from Brandon at 9: 07 asking for me to give him a call. I did and he told me he would not be meeting me at the unit because it wasn't necessary and that pictures of it would suffice. I asked him why he wouldn't be meeting me and if there were measurements he would need to take and he said that's not something he needs to do and if I could just take pictures, he would provide me with a quote. I rearranged my schedule to accommodate this meeting and that was it? !? I don't know why they couldn't tell me this on the phone when I booked the appointment. What an inconvenience. Then after sending him the photos, he told me he would be in touch. That was on October 15th. Since, he has ignored my inquiry about the status of the quote. It's utterly disappointing and unprofessional that this is the way employees at Reliance Home Comfort behave.

Water heater tank is broken and we do not have hot water. Customer service said the next appointment is July 1st. So an emergency situation takes a month to fix. This is absolutely unacceptable and a health hazard. I was told that the manager would get back to me and he never did.

We gave NO hot water since yesterday morning around 11 am. I called them in the afternoon and they booked me an appointment today between 9am- 5 pm.did not go to work or any where, waiting for the technician to show up.no body showed up or no phone calls to advise me about the delay. I had to phone them 7 times.its 6: 30 pm now.still no one showed up or phone call.still NO hot water.very bad service.

We have a Reliance rental water heater, installed by the builder. The unit was leaking, very small amount of water - not much more than a drip. We called for service. It seems that Reliance has third-partied, off-shored their call centre. Call centre agent was more interested in selling me a plumbing service package than arranging a service call. Call was scheduled for between 7a and 11a a few days ago. Shortly before 11a, the service tech called to say he'd been delayed would be at our home by noon. At 1p, I couldn't wait any longer and called the call centre to reschedule, for the next day (no apology from the call centre agent for the inconvenience of my having to reschedule). Tech showed up the next day for the rescheduled appointment with an apprentice, nice couple of guys. They looked at the water heater, said they couldn't see where the leak was coming from - it was coming from inside the core of the unit - not through any connections, told me to call back if the leak go worse. I told them that wasn't going to be acceptable. The tech called his supervisor, and confirmed they'd replace the water heater. Appointment was made by the tech for two days later, between 1p and 5p. At 4: 30p on appointment day, I called the call centre to see what had happened to my appointment.
Three agents, 50 minutes later, the third agent said she'd transfer me to a fourth agent 'who will be able to help you'. I had a business call that I needed to jump to so I thanked her for their (unproductive) time. The second of the three agents I spoke with told me they didn't have record of the appointment. All three of the agents I spoke with didn't seem to have any luck at navigating their computer system, or being able to provide me with much information, or reschedule my appointment. The third agent seemed more intent on my giving her my email address so that she could send me 'offers', for some reason only once she confirmed I am the homeowner. Next step for me, buy a new water heater from another provider, get that provider to remove the Reliance rental unit and then call Reliance to come and pick their unit up. Sometimes, customer service goes wrong and sometimes, its far from perfect, but this was ridiculous.

I think the pictures speak for themselves.

In late April 2021 we contacted Reliance for a quote on a furnace replacement. On the phone, were told the new, energy efficient furnace could vent through our chimney like our old furnace (we are in a row house so venting the pipe on a side wall isn't an option). When the installer came, he said that wasn't possible and insisted we need to vent through the backyard. As we are not HVAC experts, we went with his advice and booked another date for the completion of the install.

As you can see from the pictures, the job was sloppy. The pipe is beside a window, and it's fastened using loose PVC piping and uneven fasteners. Additionally, on his way out, the installer informed us our chimney needs a liner replacement and if it's not done within 30 days our gas line will be shut off, not to mention it could cause carbon monoxide poisoning. At no point in our discussions with Reliance did anyone mention we would need to do this.

We contacted Reliance in search of a solution. They suggested that if we replace our water heater, we could once again run the furnace piping through the chimney as both would have PVC piping. We decided to go that route. When the water installer arrived, he told us that couldn't actually happen, and the water heater would also have to vent outside.

Frustrated, we contacted Reliance customer service who told us they would send a technician to fix the sloppy piping in the backyard. When they arrived, they did not have the tools needed to fix the pipe. They called the install manager, who berated us on the phone. We've followed up with Reliance twice, but with no success. The company was quick to make the sale, but our interactions with them afterwards have been anything but.

For a complicated install, I'd recommend going with another company.

Terrible company. Not only are they shady, they cover it up with fake Reviews. Horrible. Just admit your short comings and improve. Its not that hard. You will sleep better at night as well.

I called Reliance home comfort on May 26th, 2021 around noon @12: 37 to arrange for a repair for the rental water heater. The water heater was leaking water and part of my basement was flood.

The operator from the 1800 number scheduled technician to come on the next day (May 27th, 2021) between 7am-11am. So next day, I waited till 11: 20am and no one showed up.

I called Reliance the second time and the operator told me technician would try to show up before 12 noon. So I waited till 12: 20, then I called Reliance the third time. Operator said the technician should show up before 5pm. Guess what? After 5: 30pm, there's still no body showed up.

I called the fourth times and I asked the operator if I can talked to customer service. The operator transferred me to customer service but the department closed at 5pm and no voice mail was available.

Therefore, I had to call the fifth times and the 1800 number was not able to connect. Some how I called a local 905 phone number and it directed me back to call center.

I had no choice but to book another time with the operator and hope that next time the technician will actually show up. Next appointment is tomorrow May 28th, 2021 between 7am-11am.

I have to request another day off from work in order to wait for the technician to show up. I also asked the operator for the customer service email address, but operator said that was not available. Operator said I needed to call tomorrow to talk to customer service. That is why I leave my comment here.

=update on May 28th, 2021=
Technician showed up this morning on May 28th, 2021 and replaced the water heater. So far everything seems to be working fine. Technician did a great job, finished the job in timely manner.

The technician went beyond my expectations. She was highly knowledgeable in the air conditioning and refrigeration sector and was able to identify the problem quickly just by asking key questions about the a/c unit installed 2 years ago and the history of problems that followed. By the way the a/c unit wasn't installed by Reliance like I would of wanted but instead by a guy who was recommended by a girlfriend of my wife's. Big mistake. Turned out the money spent or saved depending on how you look was worse than going to a casino.
I should also mention that she brought a pleasant personality and had a thorough ability to communicate with us. In my opinion she is a model example of what you want to see in the workforce today. I'm glad my daughter was able to be around and see how a professional looks and acts. We need more like her in our growing city so that we can continue to live at this high standard of living.
I hope she continues to gain confidence in her ability to do good work.

After having extreme difficulty in actually booking an appointment to have my brand new furnace and air conditioner installed (my requested date was bypassed with no communication, though I had provided a full weeks notice) it was a great relief to have both Amir and Randy show up for the job.

They came first thing in the morning, were very pleasant and respectful for both my questions and my property. Amazingly professional, taking the time to clean as they worked, and paying close attention to detail made this part of the process the least stressful of all.

Reliance, you should truly commend your front-line workers, the tradesmen that come in to work (a full day no less) with your customers. Because of the great work THEY provided, I will continue to do business with Reliance. If my decision was based merely upon the experience of purchasing and scheduling, it would most likely be different.

I wish i can give ZERO star.they are just big name nothing else.they do not care their client.its summer vacation and out side temperature is 30+ and its been now a week and no one show up to fix my AC, though i do have their repair plan.looks like they don't care at this moment.i wish i have any other option then wait.unfortunately wait for them.but beware and before signup this kind of contract with anyone.better we hire local technician on job base and they will fix in day or sooner.

Water heating needed repair so I called Reliance Home Comfort for service and it was easy to book an appointment at a convenient time for me. Absolutely DO NOT sign with this company, it's a scam that adds hidden fees on top of your regular hydro bill. No service technicians available when products regularly break down. We've been without hot water for a week. The fees for buying out of the contract are extortionate. This is a SCAM.

Nick was great. The original reliance techs that installed our brand new AC did something wrong and we lost all but 5ounces of our refrigerant through a small leak in the system. The first tech didn’t have the qualifications for addressing the issue but Nick did the environmental clean, fixed the leak source and set it all up again for us. Thanks Nick!

RELIANCE HOME COMFORT - NOT WHAT THEY CLAIM.
MY AC IS NOT WORKING FOR 15 DAYS NOW AND STILL REMAINS NON-WORKING.
I am having a horrible experience with Reliance Home Comfort. AC installed by Reliance less than 5 yrs back, This unit is now under their monthly service protection plan at $18 a month. This AC stops cooling as soon as summer begins and we call Reliance, - the first engineer comes in on 23rd June 2019 and can't detect the gas leak - writes a report 'FOUND LEAK AT CONDENSER - NOT COVERED IN CONTRACT - ESTIMATE OF REPAIR $1,499. Not being satisfied with this, we call upon reliance for a second opinion from a different engineer. We booked 2 appointments with Reliance and NO ENGINEER SHOWED UP FOR BOTH APPOINTMENTS - Third appointment - Engineer comes in on 1st July 2019 and does not find a leak anywhere - reports 'BOOKED LEAK DETECTION' means he is now calling another person to re-check and find the leak. (BOTH THESE REPORTS ARE FROM RELIANCE ENGINEERS) - After calling several times and speaking to several people - the third engineer came in on 2nd July 2019 - tested and reported 'FOUND LEAK IN SERVICE VALVE - PART ORDERED FOR REPLACEMENT'. - Today is the 6th of July 2019 - 15 DAYS and the temperature between 22-35 degrees in these 15 days we are living without an AC.

MY AC STILL IS NOT WORKING.

1. Reliance engineer would have put me up to an expense of $1500 or more if I went with the same report as the first one. -FALSE REPORT GIVEN BY ENGINEER AT OUR EXPENSE - THIS IS PROVEN WITH THE NEW REPORT WE GOT ON 2ND JULY 2019.2. Customer care or Service managers show helplessness when you call and complaint. - They have no resolution.
3. NO COMPENSATION FOR LIVING WITHOUT AC FOR 15 DAYS even after having the AC installed by Reliance and under warranty and with a maintenance contract with them.

We had an Air conditioning issue on the hottest week of the year. We called on Reliance and they had someone there within 48 hours which was mush faster than anyone else was able to do. I was very pleased with the professionalism and knowledge we received from our service representative. Thanks Nick we will happily call upon you again.
