Workers were careful to be neat, were polite, informed, and when they didn't have a piece, went to buy it and installed it the same day. The first worker came on New Year's Day and blew my mind. Great service. One worker did not have shoelaces tied which almost gave me a heart attack until he tied them (he was going down stairs with a new/old water heater!) Otherwise, all went well and fast. Impressive.

We have been with Reliance for years due to its high quality maintenance services. And this time Reliance did it again when we replaced the old hot water tank, AC, Furnace plus adding a HRV system over the summer months. Brittany came to our home three times to inspect and answer our questions to our satisfaction, as well as following up for each installation and our feedback. Her team of installer are knowledgeable, professional, on time and clean up after each installation. We are really satisfied with the quality of work and the result of the installation. The plumbing and HVAC protection plans truly fell short of expectations. I called reliance for a number of plumbing needs that when finally they brought in a technician they caused new leaks that were left untreated. Their "service" caused new damage to my cabinets and they destroyed the existing plumbing fixtures without ever implementing a fix.

I also had an HVAC protection plan. When I called for an HVAC service, they advice was to install new equipment due to exaggerated reasons. They pushed hard to sell or rent their equipment which when compared to the market price turns out to be highly overpriced. It seems like their HVAC protection plan is really a way to convince customers to purchase their overpriced equipment. I have other rental services with Reliance and I regret signing up, because of how much money I have sank to their rental plans compared to what it would have taken to purchase equipment from another much more reputable source. I would not recommend Reliance to any of you home needs

Renting a hot water tank is probably three times the cost of owning a tank which is why I've always owned my tank. So the first thing I do when moving into a new place with a rental with Reliance, is cancel and buy out the rental. Reliance might have good maintenance service, but wow, it took multiple phone calls over days, more than an hour on hold, and significant back pressure to pull this off. Very disappointing experience. I finally succeed, and a few days later I actually get a $35 account opening bill! I think it's because they were saying that the rental had to be moved into my name in order to buy out the rental. If you decide to ever cancel a rental with Reliance, keep at it and stand your ground, you will eventually succeed.

A couple months ago, I started shopping for a new furnace and AC unit. Just ten days ago, while still waiting for another company to receive the parts to do the installation, I got concerned with a smell I thought came from my 16year old furnace, and called Reliance for service. An appointment was booked right away, and a technician was on site within 48hours! The technician, Ryan was professional and very knowledgeable, and went the extra mile to make sure all my concerns were addressed - including providing me a direct phone number to reach him if I had any questions, and making arrangements for a sales representative to come by when I would be available a few days later. The sales rep, Olu (Kayode) was friendly, straightforward, attentive to my concerns, and worked hard to get me the best possible deal with my preferred specs. The installation was booked within days, with several options to meet my availability. The installation technicians, Rob and Ryan, were very professional, keeping me well informed throughout, leaving everything clean and tidy, and completing the work within a few hours. Really appreciated them being mindful of not disturbing my teleconference as I worked from home! On the day of the installation, the sales rep checked in twice to make sure I was fully satisfied with everything. And later that night, the maintenance technician (Ryan) also checked in to ensure the installation went to my satisfaction. Prior to any visit, all Reliance personnel called ahead with an estimated time of arrival. All of them wore masks and were mindful of wearing shoe covers indoors. Through and through, very satisfied with the customer care and professionalism of Reliance. All of them also voluntarily shared their satisfaction with their work conditions and employer - which is something I value in a company.

Very pleased with the professional work done by the Reliance team as we had our furnace and air conditioner replaced. From the initial consultation, where Olu patiently outlined a wide variety of rental and purchase options, to install with Rob and Ryan, Reliance looked after every detail. The install was quick and professional, with no mess left behind, and the guys took the time to familiarize me with the new system.

This was the worse experience of my life, I had 8 service calls before the AC works and I don't even know if it actually works completely yet as it was getting too cold to use it when they finish. A whole summer trying to fix it. It leaked and caused damage and after they said they would come to fix it, the sale person quit or resigned so the promise to have the damage fixed kind of went out the door. Very bad experience and I would not recommend them to my worse enemy.

Called Reliance on a Tuesday to have my 16yr old rental tank replaced. The girl who took the call told me they could do it on the following saturday so I agreed and set an appointment. Friday night, to get ready and give tech room to work in the small area, I emptied the closet of a lot of storage items and a heavy washer/dryer stack which all had to be left in my living room. I get a call from Hanna Elec (their subcontactor who does electric tank installs) at 9: 30pm that Friday night! Telling me that they can't do it until the following wed.because they don't work weekends.when I called Reliance to complain/make other arangements their "system was down" the rest of the weekend and then they confirmed on monday that the appointment was indeed set for the wednesday. In other words they have no clue how to properly train their staff who answer the phone/set apointments. I've spent a week with my apartment upside down because of their miscommunication. Not impressed.

Been dealing with billing issues for a new furnace install since May. Still to this day the billing has been a nightmare and every month it's a cycle of nothing being done and false promised. This entire company is false promises. I dealt with a rep who did a great job convincing me to go with your establishment over the competition and it's been nothing but problems. Its now October and now all of a sudden the contact I was given and promos that were offered are no where to be found, everyone of the people handling the issue have moved or left the company and meanwhile your still getting my money that was not agreed upon. Get your shit together and take care of your customers and stay true to your word. I would never dream of referring this company to anyone.

We lost hot water so they came to repair the tank. Noticed a gas smell after and called them back. They connected me with Enbridge who came rite away and turned the gas off to the hot water tank. The repair man came back next day and replaced with new tank

Usually our experience with Reliance is good, but this time wasn't the best.
We had our routine furnace maintenance and our time window was between 10am-2pm. The technician didn't show up until 2: 50pm, almost a full hour past our already 4 hour long time window. He showed up unmasked (although he did ask if we wanted him to mask up, but still).
He didn't have the proper cleaning supplies with him to clean our drainage line so he had to use ours, nor did he have a furnace filter with him that we are supposed to be provided during maintenance. Afterwards he left our cleaning supplies and the old furnace filter on our basement floor instead of throwing out the garbage and putting our supplies back.
The entire servicing was incredibly quick. He was here for maybe 15 mins max working on the furnace. This was by far the quickest maintenance we have ever received, which makes us wonder if it was all done properly.

**UPDATE: I contacted the employee who replied to my review. Two weeks later and no answer. On top of that, we are having issues getting someone to come finish the repair for our boiler. They came in September and needed to order some parts to complete the repair. We've heard nothing and when we called they were completely useless. We've had a leak for three weeks now and it doesn't look like the repair will be completed soon.

I can't believe how terrible the customer service is at Reliance. The company truly doesn't want you to know anything about the fees you are paying. We were charged a $220 fee when we had to take over a combi-boiler rental when we purchased a house, and we've been asking for an explanation concerning this fee for a while. We were given an email address of someone to contact in July, but since then it's been useless back and forth. The person keeps responding with the same unclear explanation over and over. We have asked about four times now for documentation, but still nothing. I'm incredibly annoyed that we are "stuck" with Reliance. I can't wait for the day when we can get out of our contract.

The service technicians surveyed the site identified the crucial issues involved and proceeded with the removal of old equipment; AC and furnace and the subsequent installation and setup of the new HVAC sustem along with the Thermostat and existing humidification equipment.

The work was done with little to no issue and the team kept us apprised of progress during the exercise.

On completion we were thoroughly briefed about the new equipment and the setup and operating procedures before they departed.

WARNING. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. Technician was dispatched to my home to complete an inspection. He began to push products and services on my family that we did not want or need. He then gave us a safety code violation (i.e. Enbridge would shut off our gas in 35 days if we did not use Reliance to rectify the "supposed problem"). This company basically strong armed us because we would not use their services. Please note that we completed inspections on our furnace with other companies for prior years and never had a safety code violation. They are scam artists.

We had a house fire which destroyed everything.we have call Reliance to cancel our water heater service. For some reason they have sent a rep.to verified the site and charged us 160$ to do so. After numerous calls a manager was suppose to call us back three time now but haven't heard anything yet. To my surprised our insurance was easier to deal with than Reliance.we will NEVER use there service again.

Update Reliance has refunded all charges and made this right!

We signed up for a new furnace and AC on Monday and got the equipment installed on Wednesday. The technicians, Luciano and Abdul were great. Very professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. Especially appreciated that Luciano spoke a perfect French, something we unfortunately seldom experience in Ontario. Much appreciated. Also a big thank you to Olu, the home comfort specialist who was patient with us and answered all of our many questions.

Reliance is a company that prides itself on customer service and that was evident with my most recent experience. Trevor with sales was very informative and created a package that was a great fit for me. The installation team Kevin and Taylor were excellent, very friendly very professional. 10/10 will recommend to anyone looking for heating and cooling services.

AC was not cooling. Tech #1 said capacitor was bad. Replaced it. A $30 part. Billed $300 plus tax. Discovered after he left that unit worked but would not respond to thermostat. 2nd tech came. First he said it must be the contacts. Wrong. He then looked at the thermostat and said it was wired wrong (worked well for 2 years). So he rewired it. Obviously not the solution. Then he decided that it looked like a bad circuit board. Cost $700. I declined. Remember only a day earlier tech #1 found no such problem and left the unit in working condition. When I called the service manager to complain about the incompetent tech #2 he said if I am not happy I should get another company to resolve it. Be very careful with Reliance. They are always anxious to sell you services but expertise is sadly lacking.

The initial installation was efficiently (time wise) done. However, a humming sound resonated in a room of the house when the AC was working. Reliance very quickly sent technicians to diagnose the problem. The noise is greatly reduced, and currently is not an annoyance. All of the technicians who came to the house.called on their experience to troubleshoot the problem. We received very good service from Reliance.

AC failed last evening - 28C in the house. Dean & Nick came to investigate today. They were very knowledgeable and experienced, and after discussing the issue they quickly diagnosed the problem in 10-15 minutes. Additionally, they did did some maintenance checks and made AC System adjustments for better dehumidification and cooling. Very happy with the service from these two gentlemen.

Seerat provided us a quote on a Carrier system (furnace and A/C) called him back the next day, no answer but left a message advising that we would like to go with them and a follow up email no response. Called him the next day and caught him while he was driving, he advised he would call us back as soon as he could. No reply within 2 days, called again and again caught him while driving, he promised he would call that night. No response within 24 hours so we went with Francis and got a great system. He finally called us back 5 days after we started trying to connect him but it was too late.

If you are depending on your AC unit, do not depend on Reliance Holmes. The closest time they had was 2 weeks away; The appointment time between 10am and 2pm. They call at 1: 30pm to say they need to reschedule and the next available time is 2 weeks away. What a joke. Nothing sooner and nothing to repay inconveniences either.

Been 2 months without an AC in the heat of the summer with 2 kids in the house still not repaired the service guy never showed or called so I had to rebook again super un impressed by this company. Had a water leak by the water tank. I called Reliance home and they were very professional. Work order was created and the next morning Mohamed from Reliance came to investigate and repair the issue. He was very professional, respectful, informative and asked if I had any questions along the way. He took his time to properly repair and test a few times to make sure everything was properly done and in good working orders. He also checked for other possible problems like gas leak etc.and confirmed that all is looking good. I also appreciate that Mohamed called to let me know he will be at my home in 20 minutes. Great experience today and I am very pleased.

-22 degrees in Ottawa. Woke up to no heat. The Holmes technician who came was technically very knowledgeable, capable and explained things in a way we could understand. Furnace under warranty, no call-out charge for fixing what was an unbalanced system, (installed by Holmes) causing overheating, causing system to shut down. Five stars for the technician, Two stars for Holmes' Emergency contact system. Really bad telephone system, on hold for several times trying to get to talk to a person to have a tech sent out. But in the end, a Tech was located and arrived within an hour an a half of being scheduled.

Our furnace quit on December 30th 2018, a representative at our house in a short time, December 31st 2018 two technicians showed up promptly, and were very professional the entire visit they answered all of my questions to the best of their ability, they were very thorough, they left no mess behind, their work looks neat and tidy, and all of the manuals, warranty information, terms of service, product knowledge, user interface explained in a user-friendly format, at this moment I am completely satisfied with the work that they performed, I will have more Equipment installed in the spring and I will request the same two technician.

My entire family, wife, infant daughter, and myself included, are very grateful, thank you so much for taking care of my family!

Reliance gave us a four hour window for their technician to arrive to service our broken furnace, between 7-11PM. A nice surprise, he arrived within the first hour.

Shawn called to announce that he would arrive in 15 minutes. That was appreciated.

Shawn arrived and was polite and personable. I told him the order of events, what I had observed, and what still seemed to work.

He did a couple of things, turned something on that wasn't on before and identified the problem. Took about 5 minutes of actual investigation so Shawn knew his stuff.

He explained the issue in regards to what I had seen with the behaviour of the furnace and said that he should have the part in his van.

He installed it and provided additional advice about my furnace.

Overall, a great experience and a great technician.

Very satisfied with Reliance and their service.

I made an appointment with reliance looking to replace my 30+ year old furnace and air conditioning system. My experience with the staff were great. Pat Grenier was helpful in answering my questions and making sure I had all the information to understand my options. Something that is also important to me is that I never felt pressured to sign on at all or to favor a particular financing option or upgrade. Tyler and Marc later installed my new furnace. They were professional and respectful of the house. I am already enjoying the quieter system and humidifier.

I wish I could leave 0 star. Worst customer service ever! Our hot water tank was broken and it took them 3 visits over 5 days to get it replaced, absolutely useless! The 1st time we called, they would not even send a technician to take a look at it. It was dark and cold and they claimed that the earliest available spot would be next morning. What happens to 24/7 support? ! I had to beg them multiple times before they finally reluctantly send someone over for a quick look. Not only that, they also charged $$$ so called 'plumbing fee' for replacing my water tank, outrageous! I have dealt with another national company before who replaced my broken water tank within 4 hours of calling and no extra charges at all. Run away from them, as fast as you can!

I cannot stress this enough people do the math before signing these ridiculous rental contracts. You can buy the hot water tank or furnace for a fraction of the cost it will cost to stay in these 15-20 year rental contracts. Also make sure you read the fine print about the crazy high cancellation fees and removal and pickup fees before signing. I cant believe how many people are being scammed everyday by this company do the simple math people wake up.

Easy process start to finish. Needed mixing valve replaced, I got lucky with an available slot on the same day I made the call. Six hours total from when I placed the call to job completion. Very pleased!

The service is for replacing the mixing valve for the hot water tank. Hot water is not coming through to the shower and bath. Both the technician and the plumber (Eric) are super professional and efficient in providing the repair service. Thank you very much.

Holmes heating - a good company that I trusted for my equipment for 20+ years. Too bad Reliance took over.

I have a furnace that was purchased and installed by Reliance Holmes heating and cooling. The blower motor stopped working and reliance came out, under warranty to do the repair.

The technician was very professional and courteous. The part was unavailable in Canada so reliance ordered a replacement part from the USA and another technician came out to install it. Turned out to be the wrong part. The very next day, I received the correct part on rush order by Reliance.

The technician immediately came out when I called and installed the new motor.

Although we encountered difficulties, the technicians at Reliance were fantastic. They really went above and beyond. They felt badly for the delays and without being asked for any compensation, they gave us a $500 cheque for the inconvenience!

Yes have never had such wonderful service. It’s nice to see that some companies still care about their customers. I will definitely choose them for any further HVAC needs in the future. Highly recommend. Thank you!
