I recently purchased a Yamaha Baby Grand piano from Remenyi. I got a very good price. But more than that the service was excellent. The delivery went off without a hitch and Remenyi did everything they promised and more. In particular June Wang was excellent throughout. I would never purchase a piano anywhere else.

A $300 bow snapped in the middle of playing. But the remenyi refused to take any responsibility.

My bow was broken while I was playing. It's clearly a defective product. My father went to remenyi store in Toronto with the broken bow. They said I over-tighted the bow. I've played violin for 5 years and I know the right tightness. They use any excuses just to deny any compensation.

You should know that this is a wonderful place for Toronto made possible by excellent, easy-going, knowlegeable, good people, who make possible the purchase of quality products that are good for music and musicians. Their stock of print music is second to none, IMO from previous in-person visits. And they do provide amazing promotions from my experience.

Now, they've just sold a Yamaha CLP-735 to me, and it really is perfect for my needs (I've already played on it), like they say it would be after they listen carefully to my questions about it in relation to what digital piano I'm upgrading from, and what acoustic piano I usually play on. (It's so wonderful that they have the Yamaha in stock!) AND on top of all that, they provide an amazing, amazing promotion on it as well!

The staff in the violin department were very knowledgeable. They took time and let us tried on quite some violins. I was able to find a half size violin for my son that sounds great.

Just bought a Roland piano bench. Fred who was in charge of the piano sales offered me a discount since I had bought a keyboard the week before. I was pleasantly surprised that he offered 30% off. I walked to the store 10 minutes after I arrived with my new piano bench. Thanks Fred

Great music store, wonderfully located. Got some books from there, guy was fairly helpful, more so then I was expecting given the pandemic. It's highly central downtown Toronto location across from the national conservatory has likely resulted in prices that are bit on the high side. Would recommend if your in the area and don't want to travel further out. Better selection of books then nearby "The Sound Post", but I ended up getting my instrument at the sound post due to better pricing and a seemingly larger selection violins.

Viola player of 8 years. Went here looking for a new viola and left with one. Knowledgeable staff and good selection of instruments.

I experienced the most disrespectful and unpleasant experience ever in this store.

I purchased a violin chinrest here, and it had a problem, and I couldn't use it. So took my violin with the chinrest to see if they can fix it. This was my first time taking my violin to the store.

The staff at the String Department took a look on the first floor and took my violin up to the second floor. SHE TOOK THE STAIRS UP WHILE HOLDING MY VIOLIN IN HER HANDS. If you own a valuable instrument, you definitely know to put your instrument in the case while taking stairs. After a couple minutes, I walked up, politely said that I hoped to see my violin, and I was not comfortable being separated with it. YES, BECAUSE I WAS SCARE BY THE WAY YOU HELD IT. She then took my violin out with the MOST DANGEROUS WAY I'VE EVER SEEN, HOLDING MY VIOLIN UPRIGHT WITH ONE HAND AT THE BOTTOM, TOUCHING THE VARNISH. This is not a book! It is an expensive precious antique violin! I was shocked. She then started to educate me as if I'm someone inferior or don't-know-anything kid. Her tone and attitude was snobby and disrespectful.

Great selection of music books, and instruments. And the staff are friendly, patient, and professional. Of all the music stores I patronize, I like Remenyi best.

Today I took my "baby" (guitar) into Remenyi's to get the strings replaced and had the best experience. They are so knowledgeable and helpful and detail oriented. They showed me how to change the strings and clean the guitar and care for it going forward. And I'm loving the new strap I bought for it too My guitar looks brand new even though I've had it for 10+ years now. Great place to shop for sheet music (great choral library). I enjoyed their sale packages of choir music. Amazing discounts after Christmas (up to 70% off).

Best place to look for music related books or scores. A bit pricey for violin rental comparing with Long Mcquade. We were there on 2nd floor for the North York Orchestra Competition last Sunday.

Great clean space, kind & attentive staff, convenient location & business hours, great variety of music text books. Hope they have a pick up at store option on their online shop and more variety on musical instruments.

Extremely friendly and courteous staff. I go for the violins and related string instruments. Wide selection of books for any skill level. Also wide selection of instruments with a professional level bows and instruments in a separate area of the store by appointment.
I can't speak for their pianos guitars or other instruments but as a violin player I'm very happy with this store.

This place is wonderful. I went in a few weeks ago as a beginner a bit nervous to look at violins.

A young lady named Rihanna helped me out. She was extremely helpful took the time to explain the differences between violins, played a number of them for me which was great to be able to hear the different styles.

I never felt pressured to buy anything, was informed about a renting option so I could see if the violin was a fit for me. Definitely will be returning.

I feel this is the best place in Toronto to get classical music scores. They also have organ and vocal scores, as well as for band instruments. They have a variety of musical instruments too, but not (as far as I know.) synthesizers or other electronic gear.

I had such a good experience buying a new piano recently at Remenyi. They carry a wide range of pianos from the most respected manufacturers in Europe and around the world, with instruments for the very most accomplished musicians, as well as for those just beginning their studies. Truly piano “heaven”! As well, Remenyi staff were great to deal with. They really know their pianos and were very interested in helping me find the one that would suit my needs. Thank you Remenyi!

My friend and I came in here out of curiosity while on a walk. We went to look at the pianos, and a black man was sitting at one of them. My friend and I started playing the Steinway at the back of the room. Suddenly, one of the employees came into the room and started telling the black man to stop playing the piano because it had been "sold". He also started trying to close the lid of the piano as the man was still sitting there. He also discouraged the man from staying there by telling him he needs to book an appointment if he would like to look at pianos. However, he did not tell this to me and my friend. Overall, the employee was extremely rude and patronizing towards a customer who did not necessarily appear to be wealthy. His tone was condescending and after this occurred, my friend and I immediately left because we no longer felt welcome at this establishment. I can't say 100% that this was a case of racial profiling, but it sure felt like it. Based on the other 1 star reviews, I can tell this isn't the first time this store has treated its potential customers poorly.

We didn't have a good experience piano shopping. Their attitude is based on how much money you want to spend rather than helping your find a piano you may like.

I came to this place asking for advice for a keyboard. The piano person, Fred, was really helpful, explaining me all the kinds of keyboards they have. He aowed me to try all of them and helped me to make an informed decision. He also helped me to find a way to take it home and put it into the taxi. The store is huge and it has a great variety of instruments and books. Anything you need for you music. The collection of pianos is just amazing. I also got there the books for the conservatory exams, and they have a wide variety of contemporary and classical music books. Very good buying experience.

I'm sure they're usually really helpful but when I asked them a few questions DIY repair the person I was talking to flipped out.

I was very excited to explore a new music store while visiting Toronto from almost 90 minutes away. I am an avid pianist, and encourage opportunities to discover new music. Sadly, I was extremely disappointed in the atmosphere and non-existent costumer service that I experienced at Remenyi House of Music. Though I was greeted by a female staff member upon entry, I browsed the guitars, pianos, strings, and the large section of sheet music without being asked if I needed assistance once. After this experience, I will never, ever set foot in this store again. Very disappointing.

I have visited the store a couple of times, and was appalled by their extreme high prices on their products. There are other music stores in Toronto that are a lot more affordable than these crooks are. Giving them one star is STILL one star too many!
