It has been over 8 months since my last shift. Responsible Choice has yet to pay me for over 900$ for the work I have done for them. They removed me out of the group chats so I have no contact with anyone and have stopped all communication regarding my payment. Unprofessional and Unacceptable. Darren the owner has stopped answering messages and calls regarding the issue.

Do not order from Responsible Choice, they don't pay their drivers. All the drivers haven't been paid since May despite working hard.

they have ripped off tons of ppl, check the reviews here. They still owe me for shifts worked, and they pay you as an independent contractor so you are not protected by the labour laws.

Very very poor communication. I have rented a vehicle from here before and have tried multiple times to get in touch with Darren regarding another booking.
It’s like pulling teeth trying to get into contact with you and it’s very unfortunate. The prior booking I had last year was also cancelled the day of which is extremely unprofessional.

Also, if you aren’t renting certain vehicles, I strongly urge you to take them off your website as it’s very misleading.

Seeing from the other reviews and can’t pay your employees (which is so wrong) seems like I dodged a bullet.

If you’re looking for a professional, RESPONSIBLE, responsive business - look elsewhere.

I worked for Responsible Choice for their holiday season in December 2022. Myself, along with my two friends have not been paid bonuses promised to us (for committing to the schedule agreed upon/we have this in writing via email).

Darren Burrowes (CEO/Owner) will not respond to our emails or calls.

At the beginning of May, an email went out stating that they would pay us and he would reach out individually (Also included in that email: they needed drivers to work). I still have not heard from Darren and we have not been paid. (It's June 13th today).

Responsible Choice continues to book clients and pay their staff that work regularly but it seems they won't pay their seasonal/occasional staff. Do yourself a favour and look at other reviews online, I have found reviews from years ago of employees not getting paid. Sadly, this isn't new. Be careful.

I have worked for 5 days in April, and I still haven't got paid and apparently the owner aren't planning to pay my wage.

They haven’t paid me after 26 shifts & thousands of Kms driven in my own car!

I regret to share my horrifying experience working for Getit Local and Responsible Choice. This review serves as a cautionary tale for potential employees who value fair compensation, integrity, and respectful treatment in the workplace. Please beware and reconsider before getting involved with this company.
From day one, the promise of payment for my dedicated work turned out to be nothing but a cruel mirage. Despite working diligently for two months, I have not received a single penny for the 27 shifts I completed or the over 4000km of mileage I covered. It's a disgrace that Getit Local and Responsible Choice have no qualms about withholding wages and exploiting their hardworking employees.
To make matters worse, my attempts to communicate with the management team about these unpaid wages were met with silence and indifference. What's truly disturbing is that during this time, I received responses from the CEO to multiple job applications I made for other positions they posted on Indeed. This leads me to believe that they have a well-orchestrated scam, continuously recruiting new individuals while conveniently forgetting to compensate the previous workers. It's a sickening cycle of deception and exploitation.
Another significant issue is that they classify their workers as independent contractors, effectively depriving us of the legal protections and recourse available to employees. They know very well that most of their employees are students or individuals working part-time, making it highly unlikely for anyone to pursue legal action. It's a deliberate tactic to take advantage of vulnerable workers and evade responsibility for their actions.
I cannot emphasize enough the financial hardships I endured due to their callousness and disregard for their workforce. Their lack of payment left me unable to afford basic necessities like proper meals for an extended period. It's heartbreaking that a company would play with people's livelihoods and show such little regard for their well-being.
In light of my experience, I strongly advise against considering employment with Getit Local and Responsible Choice. They have demonstrated a complete lack of integrity, compassion, and ethical business practices. Protect yourself and seek opportunities elsewhere, where your hard work and dedication will be acknowledged and compensated fairly.

My husband and I worked for them and we are so disappointed as they have not payed to him for more than one month. The manager never answered the phone and to what it looks to me, he does not have the minimum intentions on paying. My husband has called, messages the company and manager “Darren” ; he has going to the office, but no one give any reason about it. It is not just unprofessional but irresponsible as well as this payments covered dates worked more than one month ago. One time a costumer tried to brake my car window and hurt my husband. To my surprise, I never even got a call from the manager or someone to ask what has happened or how we were. The company also ask drivers to pay for parking spots on buildings when required saying they will pay back after 20 days that it is supposed to be the pay date, however, you never get a document where it is explained what you get pay for. We tried to keep our record, but what they payed is never what you have on your records

Never answer phone, never return phone messages, never return emails sent. 2 of our group have been trying to contact for 2 months now to book and zero response. We have moved on. If you can't service your clients prior to booking I have no faith in your service.

Pretty sure this is a scam. I've been trying to get in touch with 'darren' for weeks as I was charged for a ride I never took, or was even quoted for. No one will return my calls or emails
