Rideau Canal, Lock 38 - Davis

While perhaps not quite as impressive as other locks along the Rideau Canal, the Davis has charm in its more isolated locale. The roadway getting to it is also quite enjoyable (especially on a motorcycle).

Friends and I took the pontoon boat through the locks, what an incredible experience. I also would like all the "Lock Staff " to know what an incredible bunch they are:) They work hard, and yet not only were they extremely helpful but they made our trip! Kudos to the staff!

Very interesting to watch the staff manually work the lock gates. Friendly and knowledgeable staff.

Davis Lock was a fantastic place to dock and spend the night. It was quiet and peaceful. Good swimming off the back of the boat. Could purchase ice, had electricity sites. Wasn't content with the quality of the drinking water, which had a haze to it. Great staff. Would go again.

This is one of the prettiest locks on the Rideau. Very quiet, great fishing and wildlife nearby.
