Rideau Hall

Really interesting! You have to pre-book your free tickets online. And there is free street parking close as well. You get a tour of the major important rooms inside the hall.

The outside of rideau hall and gardens requires no ticket. Just walk in and enjoy! Beautiful gardens!

A stunning spot to wander. Beautiful grounds with good well marked trails. Public washrooms at the visitor centre that are open year round are a nice touch and the staff are super friendly!

If you go arround 9 am you will see the guards playing instruments and changing guard. Beautiful!

Belle visite du domaine et du bâtiment. Admission gratuite et sans réservation. La guide que nous avons eue était passionnée et maîtrisait le sujet. Nous avons aussi pu observer la relève de la garde.

It was such a Nice guided tour around the house. Beautiful rooms! Compliments for the guide (we do think his name is Quinten?) for the Nice way he gave us information. Also for our two teenaged girls who liked the visit as much!

The garden was beautiful and peaceful, and the guardians were very patient as they stood by our side until we finished taking our group photos. It was interesting to see the variety of trees, each one planted by a different president or leader from around the world.
If you want to visit there, make sure to purchase your tickets earlier online.

Laura was a great guide! She was amazing in detailing everything and helping us understand the history of Canada and government. She was very knowledgeable and demonstrated much happiness telling the stories. Highly recommend tour!

Canada's official residence of the Governor General of Canada, representative of the Crown. Visitors are allowed on the extensive grounds. On-line reservations can be made to visit the actual residence; official guides within.
English and French. Worth the time.historic site.

Nice beautiful place.they are open all year round for tours and it's free.only thing is you have to make a call and reserve your spot.they go by appointments only. P. S it doesn't have to be a big group even one person can get tour as well.we took advantage of Doors Open Ottawa and got to see their beautiful green house that's not usually open every day for public. The green house had plants ranging from big jades, pinaple, oranges and many exotic flowering plants as well.it's a very well maintained green house, really impressed.there is an ice rink for winter ice skating thats free too.parking is on street or paid.easy access by transit.good to know the history of politically important persons (if ur interested).

Pas très très intéressant comme visite. Plutôt court comme circuit, on ne découvre pas vraiment le lieu.

Les jardins toutefois sont beaux et agréables a découvrir.

If you see us (plows) please get OUT OF THE WAY, we are rushing to keep this city cleaned up and we do not have time to wait 20mins because you want to walk slow and look at the pretty lights. DO NOT go for a walk, if you can't walk in snow either.
