Went today for the first time! Everyone was super friendly, I do not remember their names at the front desk unfortunately, but they were all great!
the optometrist (Sheldon I believe was his name) was fantastic. We had some good laughs, he’s super nice and very informative in a way I understand. Really happy with everything and everyone.

I booked an eye test appointment online for the 18th of August, but somehow I was under the impression that my appointment was for the 4th. When I called to confirm the appointment, I was told it was actually scheduled for the 5th at 3pm. Interestingly, the appointment had been reserved for an individual with a very similar name- almost 70% similarity to mine. I understand that mistakes are human, and I completely get the confusion caused by this name similarity. I also acknowledge that the manager tried to reschedule my appointment. However, I wish she could have fitted me in on the same day, as I shouldn't have to pay for this mistake.

I wouldn’t even bother to rate because that was the worst experience & service I had received at this location. Even the doctor wasn’t polite and didn’t check me very well. They cost me lot of money for nothing. I would never go there again.

The women at reception were lovely and helpful, both over the phone and in person. Unfortunately, Dr. Song was the complete opposite. She was cold, dismissive, and definitely needs to work on her bedside manner. She raised her voice at me multiple times which is completely unprofessional. I left and am not sure if my prescription is correct as she kept changing it without re-examining my eyes. I will be finding another optometrist to conduct a follow-up eye exam.

Extremely rude! I booked by phone for an eye exam for my daughter and I! I was missing my daughters health card! So they told me exactly 8 times to hurry up to get them the card number to garanty her appointment! At this point we were choosing frames in advance! I think it is at this point I mentioned that this would be by ODSP and their whole demeanour changed! Anyway buyer beware, these people are strange and rude!

I had eye exam today with Dr. Goli Sammak. Very professional, informative and caring doctor. Very much appreciate the excellent Service and her staff are amazing too. Thank you guys.

I would only point out one aspect of my visit which was unexpected and that was the cost of the exam. At $160.00 that represents a double in the nominal fee over a period of five years, since my last exam. Could you please ensure for future clients that they are aware of the cost via email confirmation of their appointment. I do understand after the exam experience however, that your upgrade in eye exam technology necessitate this increase. Otherwise I was thoroughly impressed with your staff's professionalism and their ever present reassuring and kindly disposition. Well done Rideau Optometric! 5 out of 5!

Informed me that I could not have an appointment without a mandatory $65 scan. I am diabetic. Full eye appointments are covered by OHIP for diabetics. This is discriminatory treatment.

Their website says it's 'recommended' - once I refused it however my appointment was cancelled.

Refused a family service because their 3 year old child did not wear a mask. Absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable. Operating a business in Canada is operating a business under the Canadian charter of rights and freedoms!

Great service- Fiancé had an appointment during COVID. Many health measures are taken to ensure a safe appointment so we were thrilled about that! Mélodie booked us over the phone. She was very clear and knowledgeable. Answered all of our questions in great detail! The doctor was also excellent. Fiancé had a possible situation and she took the time to explain the concerns and booked future appointments to make sure the issue didn’t progress! 10/10 will return for my own optometrist appointments!

I have gotten my two past annual eye exams at this clinic and would recommend it to all my friends and family. The staff is so nice and accommodating to all my eye care needs. They also have many amazing pieces of equipment that I haven’t see at any other clinics. Dr. Sammak is incredibly knowledgeable and has been very helpful with providing information on my prescriptions and contact lenses.

Very satisfied with the service at this clinic! Super friendly staff and the doctors do everything they can to fit your needs. Their protocols for COVID really made me feel safe and I really felt like I was in good hands! I wanted to try contact lenses for the first time but was really nervous. They were very thorough with explaining the process and I even got trained on putting them in/out and taking care of them! Could not have had a better service! Will definitely be recommending this clinic to my friends!

I needed a check up urgently in the late afternoon on a weekend, so I went there with no other option. Paid $160 for a check up vs $85 at other places with a very unprofessional doctor, Dr. Nazli Sammak. She’s impatient when I don’t understand things while she explains, cold and unfriendly. When I made the appointment, I was told over the phone that they will check up my prescription for the contact lenses as well but when I ask Dr. Sammak for that, she refuses to give it to me and only gave me the prescription for the eyeglasses. She was trying very hard to sell me the contact lenses which I needed as well and told me that I can ONLY go back to her/their shop for that, so that’s why she refuses to provide the contact lenses prescription. The next day I went to another optical shop to check on the contact lenses issue, I gave them my eyeglasses prescription, they said the contact lenses can actually be ordered based on the prescription of the eyeglasses prescription. I’m going to complain officially to the Canadian Dental Association, this kind of unprofessional attitude should be stopped.

I had a great experience at this location! Their staff was very knowledgeable and welcoming. Mackenzie was a great help at booking my appointment over the phone and accommodated my busy schedule. She answered all of my questions and assisted me in buying contact lenses. The doctors were great at explaining my results and helping me understand my prescription. They all had amazing patience and I would definitely recommend going here!

Going to that clinic has been one of the best experiences I have ever had in my life. Staff is phenomenal. The have very advanced equipment. They also have the best doctors who come from all over the place. Dr. Nazli Sammak did a phenomenal job since she gave me a very accurate prescription. Also, a lot of people are saying that this is a terrific clinic. Therefore, I really recommend the clinic.

Professional, integrity, and thorough. Finally found a steady place to have my regular eye exams instead of these one day here one day closed Optometrists. A full time business and it shows. Thank you for the great service

I’ve been going here for years. Every time I go, the staff is very friendly and professional. Makes going to the eye doctor a pleasant experience. I would highly recommend this clinic!
