Not very busy, short but easy trails.
Are able to do a little bit of fishing in the summer, basic but good.

I experienced the trails during the first of the season, and it was a magical experience. Extremely.

After having been to almost every other Halton Conservation area, we left this spot less than impressed. Trails overgrown, boardwalk in need of maintenance, doesn’t live up to the standard of the other locations. Seems like forgotten stepchild for Halton Conservation.

What a beautiful spot! We got there early morning when it was still cool and there was perhaps two other people besides us in the area.

There are a few paths that take you around the lake. A few of the paths were deeper in the woods and filled with mosquitoes but the trees were awesome to look at. As long as you kept moving, they seem to stay off of you.

There are a lot of varieties of birds here. We also saw a snake which was our first in a very long time!

There are about 6 picnic tables that are available to the public. There is also a washroom near which was somewhat surprisingly clean for a park facility.

The parking lot probably holds about 25-30 cars. We saw quite a few people taking their dogs for a walk here.

This location is part of the Halton Conservation Parks and as such will ask that you pay online for your visit.

Very nice to walk through, but the pond isn't the best for fishing. It may also be responsible for the overwhelming amount of mosquitos.

A nice quiet place to enjoy nature, have a picnic, maybe even fish? Just bring big spray if you are using the trails.
09 July 2022 6:38
We enjoyed our walk, but bring bug spray! No toilets were available which was a bit of an issue with the little ones.

A nice trail and one of the smaller parks in the Halton Conservation Parks system. Very pretty in winter, but not the longer hikes that one might be looking for that are thankfully available at other Halton Conservation Parks. Still worth a visit

A small but beautiful park. No reservation required but you need to but a day pass or have a season pass. I walked around all paths twice with my dogs in about 45 minutes. The long boardwalk is a nice touch.

A nice quiet area, not as big as the other conservation areas close by, but some shorter walking trails, nice pond. Beautiful fall colours.

Quick easy trail to hike around. We took our stroller which is a jogging stroller with big wheels along the trail and had no problems. The public bathroom at the side of the lake is nice. I went on a Saturday and there was only two other groups that we say and we were there for a couple of hours. There is a QR code at the entrance to pay if you are not a season pass Holder.

This is one of our most favorite places to go during summer and fall. Great fishing place (large- and small-mouth bass, sunfish), no need to register to book a time slot. However one must display its Halton Conservation Membership Card (yearly pass) on the car's front window, to show that the payment was made. If you do not have the pass, there is a payment stand near the entrance. Our kids and us love to watch big and small turtles in the lake there. One should be careful not to catch a turtle, while fishing, since there are lots of them there. We had caught once a turtle, and had to take out the little hook out of it and let it go back to the lake, thanks God it was all okay with the turtle. The trail is only 2 km long, but it is so scenic, so beautiful, there was even a movie in the making in this area this spring, and I understand why.great views and nature. There is a public washroom there, proves useful, when you are visiting for more than 2-3 hours there with kids. Picnic tables are available, great for mini family dinner. Have not been there for 2-3 weeks, and already miss it.

Great little park, not busy at all. Walk around the loop takes about 40 minutes. It was very buggy this August morning, very glad we had bug spray! Lots of people fishing in the pond. We walked around the side and sat at a picnic table under a willow tree which was lovely. There is a bathroom at the park but it's kind of hidden! When you're looking at the pond from the boardwalk turn right, go around the pond and it's up a little bit on the right. Price was kind of high for what it is, but that's okay to support the conservation authority.

I'll have to go back. It was too hot to enjoy on the day I went. Otherwise, looks like great fishing, hiking and picnicking.

I visited on July, it was nice but very buggy, I will return in another time. Nice place for a peaceful walk.

I love this area. It's very low key, quiet and peaceful. Very well marked simple trails, about 2km in total. And some picnic tables to have a "back to nature" lunch.
15 August 2021 16:19
It’s a nice little conservation area, as advertised. It was okay for a family picnic, but a little steep at $12/vehicle for what it is. The trails are very buggy (in July), as other reviewers have noted. The main advantage is that it not very crowded.
15 August 2021 12:49
Nice place to take little ones. Lots of sunfish, the rare bass, LOTS of turtles and other wildlife. Has a fee that varies upon age+vehicles, or risk getting ticketed. Has a number of connecting trails, though I am unsure if they have been kept. Can walk around the entire pond and also through the woods a bit.

Good, not very busy. Parking/entry fee $7 per adult. Lots of bugs in May. A few picnic tables near Lake (not far from parking). Total trail loop would be 2.5 or 3 km, with options for shortcuts. Saw someone fishing as well.

Honours system for parking payment.

Consider this a nice quick trail hike. Very easy terrain. Went around 9am so just a small handful of people around. Very low considering there is not gated entrance / timed passes needed (this is during the COVID-19 pandemic of course).

Scenery is mainly foliage and marshland. Still very beautiful though.

Nice place for a quiet walk around the water body or a quick short hike. We enjoyed our picnic at the tables around the water!
14 July 2021 15:53
Quiet but fairly buggy. Little breeze due to the trees and open space available. Some small hiking trails around the reservoir.
05 July 2021 17:38
Great spot for a casual walk. Extra wide trails and a relatively flat area make for an easy stroll. Another fantastic offering from Halton Conservation!
29 June 2021 12:26
A nice place to spend few hours with fishing and hiking. Liked the trial, and the option of shortcut. Parking space is sufficient. No pre booking required. So, if you don't find a spot in other conservation areas due to Covid restrictions, you can try this.
15 May 2021 14:27
I'm conflicted giving such a high score because I don't want people to know about this little gem.
10 May 2021 18:07
Great walk here with family. Small clear lake, it was perfectly still giving off a mirror like look. Public single compost toilet washroom. There is a small fee for this conservation area.
29 October 2019 8:24
There were so many mosquitoes when I visited at the end of July. Like another reviewer mentioned, we also had to turn back midway. Ran all the way to the parking lot.
16 September 2019 0:07
This is a beautiful peaceful place for family picnics and/or hiking, however, not sure if this is an ongoing issue, but at least the day we were there, the hiking trails were full of mosquitoes which made it unbearable to walk, so much so that we had to turn back halfway. Unfortunately, we were not prepared to counter mosquitoes. Strongly recommend to prep for mosquitoes otherwise you won't enjoy.
12 August 2019 10:24
This place has very static water and helps mosquitoes thrive. I saw some fish. However the mosquitoes were very annoying and so was Canada geese poos. I would never visit here again. There are plenty of nice a halton parks and the free ones that I would avoid this one.
26 July 2019 15:26
Nice outing for young children who wants to fish for a short time.
Very peaceful and lots of birds singing.

$7 to park. April 7th, 2019: muddy and icy. I wasted my money this day. First time here. No paved path. Wooden walk-way over a swamp. It's creepy but I was safe today. Nice place for hiking in the summer. I plan on bringing my bicycle for leg work because the hills in the forest are crazy steep.okay maybe not. The wooden path might be dangerous for bicycles though, due to the one hand rail only. I can totally see myself riding into the swamp!
16 June 2019 7:23
Peaceful hike. This place is fairly short compared to other Halton conservation parks, mostly dirt paths with a bit of gravel and a long wooden bridge through the marsh. Probably not a pleasant place to go after rain. There are some picnic tables and a dock for fishing around the pond.
27 February 2019 17:49
Great spot for walks. It isn't host to The biggest fish, but it is home to a large concentration of hungry mosquitos; wear sleeves if you visit in the summer.
30 December 2018 20:32
Lovely boardwalk through the marsh. Mostly flat terrain made it great for a relaxing walk of approximately 2 km. Lack of signage made for a few guesses along the way.
