Rodman's Heating & Air Conditioning

Furnace was acting up. I have a young toddler and the house was getting cold. 2 technicians showed up within 3 hours, were very professional, explained the issue and they had it up and running within an hour. Thank you.

Our water heater just died and we needed someone to replace it ASAP. Only one company came to mind, and that was Rodman's. I had used them a few years ago to replace my furnace and the service, dedication and professionalism we received made it a no-brainer to also use them for our hot water tank. They removed and installed our water tank, cleaned up and explained to me everything required to ensure our complete satisfaction.

Their Technician was quite nice and so is the rest of their staff, however their prices are insane. Absolutely gauging customers. I had one of their technicians come in to diagnose an issue with my furnace. The rate for an inspection was quite high, but it was a weekend so I was ok with it. The combustion exhaust fan had died. Their main office called back the next day and said that it would cost $1200 + tax for the part and install. I called around to some other HVAC places and the very first one I found was able to get the part on the same day and install it for $400. THE EXACT SAME PART! Dont trust their prices, they are taking advantage of people hoping they dont check the price of parts or with other businesses. Not to mention they wouldnt stop nagging about getting a brand new furnace, when my existing one works just fine and just needed a $200 part.

Jackson was the young man who visited us to service our furnace that had not been looked at in a few years. My wife and I were extremely pleased how polite and thorough he was. And he took the time to explain what he was doing! 5 stars to Jackson!

2023 06 08 - I requested a service call to repair the air conditioning at my daughter's home. Pickering was under a heat wave at that time and we were sent a repair person two days later. The repair involved the replacement of a capacitor in the air conditioning unit and we were pleased with the service.

There was an Enercare box attached to the outside wall and the power to the air conditioner came through that unit. This unit no longer functioned in the fashion it was originally set up for, we requested that it be removed.

Two days later, Enercare sent their repair person to remove the unit which caused the air conditioner to stop working. We called Enercare again the next day and they sent another repair person to check the air conditioner - he pulled some crimp wire connectors from their terminals to clean them and then reconnected them. He pushed some sort of a button in the unit and showed that power was coming into the unit as we heard the fan spool up. He sealed up the unit and left.

Later that day we found that the furnace stopped working and we asked Rodman's to come and analyze the problem. We discovered that the HVAC system has two voltage systems - a twelve-volt system that runs the control systems in the unit and a 120-volt system that powers the blowers and motors.

The problem was traced back to the AC unit where the terminals were crossed when the Enercare repair person connected the high-voltage pin to the low voltage circuit and blew out the motherboard on the furnace, blew out the thermostat and damaged the blower.

Our best solution at that point was to replace the furnace with a new unit and seek redress with Enercare.

My wife Irene followed up with Deb at Rodmans who within three days installed the furnace doing an excellent job from beginning to end. They were prompt, professional and very helpful. My wife Irene said that Deb was very helpful. She answered all of our questions and went out of her way to have the new furnace ordered and delivered as soon as possible.

The technicians did a great job on a really hot and humid day. They removed the old unit and brought in the new unit, made the connections for gas, electrical and the sheet-metal work to connect the duct-work. I was impressed and I highly recommend this HVAC company. They're the best.

2020 10 10 - Your serviceman, AJ came to service my gas furnace. It was installed by your company back in 2004 12 08. I watched his work intently, as he methodically went through one test after another, problem solving each sub-system after another. He discovered a deficiency in a vacuum system that did not allow the system to proceed from a "standard burn" state into a "hi burn" state. His work led to the discovery of an iron elbow (used by gas fitters) plugging the exhaust vent. I was pleased to see such methodical detective work done in discovering the problem and in solving my furnace dysfunction.

My congratulations to AJ. In my books, he exhibited outstanding skills as an HVAC service person.

I may have been slightly oversold but I was a willing partner in that. (And I did say "slightly. ") What I got is an utterly top notch heat pump and high efficiency furnace. But you can get a really good heat pump and high efficiency furnace many places. Why I liked Rodman's is: from the guy that first came to talk about what equipment we should get to the last guy that left after the install was complete, they were all incredibly knowledgeable and super thorough as well as being polite and very professional. They had to build new ducting in the basement for the new furnace and they had to set up the new thermostat correctly (you really should have a pro to do this) and they had to take care of a myriad of other details I wouldn't even have thought about. And all of that just happened. Afterwards, inside and outside was spotless and all of my old stuff just disappeared.

Rodman’s put in a new heat pump system and furnace in our house a few weeks ago. It took a couple of visits to get all the bugs worked out but Kirk and his team stayed on top of it until we were completely satisfied. Would recommend them for all of your heating and/or air conditioning needs.

We needed a new furnace so we called Rodmans, who we have dealt with before. They were able to install a new furnace quickly and efficiently. Staff arrived at the time when they said they would. They were friendly, knowledgeable and courteous. Care was taken to make sure our floors were kept clean as they went in and out of the house. After the new furnace was installed, they made sure everything was working properly before they left. We will continue to call Rodmans for any future heating or air conditioning matters.

I have used Rodman's for over 30 years. Two days before Christmas on short notice they installed a new furnace. The installers took pride in their work and actually did more than they had to. I was so impressed with the install that I took a picture and put it on facebook. Excellent company.

The service technicians AJ and Russ treated my home with care, protecting my floors from the entryway right through to the furnace room. They were very prompt, patient and professional.
After installation, they took time to explain the dynamics of my new furnace (a lot of information for a tired week-day brain.lol). When I phoned the office with further questions, AJ came by the next day to further explain and answer all of my questions and concerns. His patience and professionalism was refreshing. My first experience with this company. Rodman's were excellent to deal with. We needed to replace our furnace. Debbie at Rodman's was professional and knowledgeable about their product lines, the installation process, warranty etc. It was a rush situation, as our furnace had high CO2 levels. Rodman's were able to rearrange appointments and installed our furnace next day. Russ and AJ did our installation and as others have said, they are professional, courteous and knew exactly what was required. Dependable and on time. I highly recommend Rodman's.

Learned my furnace was broken when I turned it on last week. Rodman's had someone out within a few hours. Circuit board had been damaged in a flood the month before. Rodman's found a replacement and had it installed by the next afternoon. We're very thankful for their quick and efficient work.

Was sitting downstairs beside my furnace removing decorations from an old Christmas tree needing replaced, when on came my NEW furnace and blower. It was so quiet if a creature was stirring or even a mouse I would have heard. Santa stop here you will be warm and cozy or next summer when the new a/c will keep you cool. Hired Rodman's a year ago after for both furnace and a/c installation. Kirk came out in person and was very helpful in helping us choose what furnace and air condition units we would need. Haven't had a single issue with products (they carry Napoleon products built in Ontario) or installation. I highly recommend them to family and friends, we really couldn't be happier and wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

Kirk and his team go the extra mile to make sure any install is done correctly. From Deb in the office to the techs that come to your residence, they are all class acts all the way. From annual furnace cleaning, new gas line installs or brand new central air conditioners - all were done correctly and on time. Service prices are really reasonable when compared to the big corporations like Reliance or Enercare. Rodmans works with you if you are on a certain budget if they can. They go the extra mile.

I'd contacted Rodman's to look at having my water replaced by a tankless one as I was looking to finish the portion of my basement where the original was installed. The technician who came walked me through all the options, pros and cons, as well as pointing out my intake line was only 1/2 inch - which is below the recommended size. I opted to move the existing tank. The crew that came to move the tank were polite, clean (left zero mess), did exactly what I wanted and were in and out quickly. The price was completely reasonable. I had also initially contacted another company which took forever to book, then the technician did a 30 second look and quoted a price on a tankless. Rodman's took the time to properly assess the situation, inform me of my options and followed through.

Our furnace was intermittently shutting off on its own without reaching set temperature. We called Rodman's when they opened in the morning and they were at our house an hour later. The technician knew what the problem was before even looking at it based on the description of the issue we gave over the phone. It was a clogged drain pipe and he had it cleared out and running back to normal within 20 minutes. We will definitely be using Rodman's from now on for any heating/a.c. Needs. Highly recommend.

We have used this company for 20yrs since we moved to Ajax and never a problem.
They installed our noritz tankless hot water heater approx 12 yrs ago. It stopped working so we called and they charged us approx $150 for the service call.
This is when all the b.s. Started. They told us that there were no replacement parts for this unit because it was so old. The manager was away for a week so they basically did nothing. I suggested they look online for different suppliers and also to contact the manufacturer. Apparently they did and told me they no longer ship parts to Canada. They wouldn't tell me what the parts numbers were so I could locate them myself. When the manager returned they made a final statement that the unit is obsolete and I would have to buy a new one.and here is when the real story came out.because they no longer deal with noritz and now they only deal with another manufacturer. So they quoted me $5000 for a new unit.
I called noritz myself in the USA, and got the real truth. All parts are in stock in Canada and ready to ship (from reliableparts.ca the same company I was told didn't have any) No parts were obsolete and they gladly gave me all part numbers needed. I could order and they would ship same day. It cost $100 for parts and I contacted a contractor that was listed on the noritz website they came the next day for $250.so a $350 replacement part vs a new $5k unit unbelievable. Something has gone wrong with this company and I will never use them again or refer them to anyone for being so dishonest.

Excellent customer service with professional technicians they first came and installed gas lines for bbq and stove and then had them install a new air conditioning unit once again staff was very professional and did an excellent job

Company did not stand behind their warranty. I purchased an air conditioner with full 5 year parts and labor, when the unit had a problem they told me they would not cover the labor because there were too many issues with the unit they sold me. The part was covered but they would charge me for the labor. I would have sued them to honor their warranty but couldn't justify the time it would have taken. I called Buttons and they took care of me. Never use this company.

Rodman’s crew of Dylan and Russ gave amazing service installing our new furnace. Removing and installing was done with attention to detail and neatness. Both were friendly, polite and professional. Highly recommend.

If you are looking for service on your fireplace, this isn't the company to hire. They are clearly NOT experts on fireplaces. They charged $150 for the diagnosis, then provided me with an outrageous quote to repair and refused to give a breakdown of costs for parts and labor plus they said it would take hours as it was a complicated job. I called Classic Fireplace - they charged half the price and was in and out within 30 mins! AND they provided a detailed invoice including breakdown of costs (without me asking) because they had nothing to hide and not a rip off like Rodmans!

After being left to freeze when my furnace cut out and Enercare refused to show up to honour my protection plan contract til sometime the next day claiming that they had 24 hours before they were obligated to respond I called Rodmans. Wow what a difference! With Enercare it took 3 hours, numerous phone calls answered by people reading excuses from a script with various thick accents (one even sounded Russian, I can only imagine how they scoured the globe to find the cheapest phone monkeys) and still no one would help me. I called Rodmans desperate to get heat for my loved ones, talked to a very pleasant woman named Debbie just long enough for her to get my info and someone was at my door within 90 mins. Ask yourself how you would like to be treated in a similar situation and the question of who deserves your trust, and your business, becomes very clear.

Our furnace broke down on Christmas Eve - we called their 24 hour number and a tech came out to us within an hour. Russ was very knowledgeable and gave us some great pointers and things to consider. We purchased a new furnace and had it installed within 48 hours. The entire process was easy. The communication that was available to us wasn’t hampered by the Christmas Holidays. I will be using Rodmans for all our future servicing!

I have been dealing with Rodmans for many years and always received excellent service by their technicians and office staff. Recently had a breakdown of my furnace with no heat and minus 20 temps expected that night. Service call was scheduled for next day due to their workload but ladies at the office called me several times over the course of the day to check on any changes. Received phone call the same evening from tech who came to my home to diagnose the problem, called the office to find out if they had the part in stock and fortunately they did and the owner personally delivered the part for the technician to install and I finally had heat again. I would strongly recommend customers purchase the service maintenance annual plan as the parts can be very expensive. Thank goodness I had the plan. I would recommend Rodmans to any of my friends and family with confidence. Thank you again Rodmans and all staff.

I have used Rodmans for many years for furnance maintenance, gas fireplace maintenance and AC maintenance and 3 years ago purchased an AC from them as well as a Gas Line to my BBQ. I can't say enough good things about the service they provide and the quality of work. I can't speak to other comments on here, only my own and would recommend them.

Our 19 year old furnace finally failed today - called Rodman to address the issue - Dillon and AJ completed a full install and removal of the old one in the afternoon - Strongly recommend them should you suffer a similar fate on one of the coldest days of the year

VERY disappointed by their service, got an initial diagnostic and I paid a deposit to order the part. When the part was installed they tried to charge another deposit fee for ANOTHER PART because they did not see the problem during the initial diagnostic. Got charged $366 and they didn’t even fixed our heater. Never again! If I could give 0 stars I would!

I recently just moved into a new place and had to replace both the furnace and A/C unit and went with Rodman's for the full package.

Throughout two home visits pre-install, several phone calls and emails between Kirk (manager) and Deb (office) and the install in addition to a post-install check up myself and my family couldn't be happier with our service.

The pre-install visits were quick, painless and Kirk is someone who is clearly passionate and believes in the company representing it very well and dumbing the process down so someone who doesn't know anything about heating and a/c can follow along.

The installation lasted all day for one day and the crew that came in even brought a student who was learning the trade along. They were all polite, clean, professional and friendly. Kirk even came back to see how it was going.

Post-install the follow-up and payment process was simple, and in our control.

Will be recommending Rodman's to anyone who asks. I'm very satisfied with the service, and will have them back for any related job.
