Rosedale Marina

Rosedale Marina is a great place to hangout with friends and family. Kids really love the Marina and boating. 23 rented a Avalon 60 hp, the boating on Balsam lake is amazing. The staffs were so kind and knowledgeable. They helped me to select and rent a good boat for my family with two kids. We enjoyed the trip. Thanks Rosedale Marina for managing and maintaining the marina in a perfect condition.

Went looking for parts on a Sunday, sinage stated no service personal on Sunday but someone in this department wasthwre and supplied us with all nessary parts we needed. Thank you.

The worst!
I first brought a mariner outboard to Gord at Rosedale Marina in August of 2020. In hindsight I should have ran the other way. I then made the mistake of returning to them in April of 2021 to do work on a vintage boat that I restored with the help of my older brother from 2021-2022.

I recall well that August day in 2020 when I called Gord to follow up on the work he was doing on the Mariner outboard. He yelled over the phone " just so you know now, the squeeky wheel does not get faster service at this place ".

The following mid April 2021 and being the first through their doors, I had an inventory of vintage controls and accessories to install on the boat. Five months later these items were not all installed, the new fuse panel to control them was mounted in a hazardous location, half of the wiring came loose and had to be re-wired by others, parts were installed inaccurately despite extensive input, a vintage steering wheel that Gord was adamant could not be installed was installed in a snap by others, a push pull steering system was installed by others in a fraction of the time and cost by others and a portion of the rear transom was hazardously removed after a long restoration of the transom by others.

I spent over $ 4,500. I experienced 5 months of rude impatient treatment, profane language, broken timing promises from a supposed licensed marine surveyor who appeared to only be able to live in the problem rather than the solution.

Thanks to a referral to another marina, I finally went elsewhere. On the day I retrieved my boat and upon voicing all of these concerns to Juanita the General Manager/Owner (and mentioning a similarly negative review already posted on line about Rosedale Marina), I got the response:

" Well I don't have the time to make all of my customers happy "

Stay away from this operation. The convenient location is not worth the trauma you will experience!

They pulled us out of the water promptly, did a quick assessment, pointed us in the right direction for parts, allowed us to stay on board on the hard, promptly attended to the necessary repairs, and had us back on the water the next day. This while tolerating our frustration in the moment of our troubles. Very nice people and very knowledgeable. Thank you.

We received fantastic customer service! We rented an 11 person pontoon boat for a day and the staff was very friendly. They gave us a very detailed map and pointed out some things we should check out during the day.
We followed their recommendations and it turned out to be an amazing day!
The boat was very nice. I would definitely recommend renting from them if you are in the area.

Good service.rented a boat with friends to fish for the day.boat was decent for what we needed. Caught some decent small mouth.buddy caught a good sized one.about 4 to 5 lbs but we are telling people 6. Lol. All fish released for the next person to enjoy.

We went there to gas up and they only allow 2 boats at a time which is perfectly fine, however they should do their rentals on another dock as rentals take up almost 15min to set up.so 1 gas pump not being used.multiple boats waiting.there is plenty of room to do rentals elsewhere. Gave up and went down to Pride marine for gas.

Sitting on the Trent canal between Balsam and Cameron lakes it is a good location for all kinds of boaters. The marina itself is currently updating docks and shoreline making it easier to navigate and dock. The mechanics are good and there are services such as gas, a store and washrooms with a shower. They also have boat storage for the winter months.

Friendly staff, seemed to know where to fish and what to fish for. Fair pricing. Beautiful lake

There are 3 marinas on balsam lake. Choose one of the other two. Our boat broke last Saturday, called them up they said they were a mercury dealer and could get the part by Tuesday. Towed the boat there, On Tuesday called and they said no part but no problems for Friday! Called on Friday, they said they never told me it would be Tuesday or Friday and I just have to wait until it shows up. They also said they were not a mercury dealer at this point, I would have never of brought it to then. They have no idea when it will come in now. Then they said they never told me any of the original statements. When I called them out on their lies they told to me "to come get my f#$&ing boat then". Needless to say I showed up, neither of the people in service could even look me in the eye because they knew they were wrong. They were even working on their own rental fleet at the time instead of their customers boats. Shows me where their priorities are. Too bad preferred to support the local marinas but not when the service department is that incompetent. STAY AWAY IF YOU CAN

UPDATE: Marina up the lake charged me 52 bucks and one small fitting to fix my boat and had it back to me in less than 24 hours. Thanks for nothing Rosedale.super disappointing, didn't even need the part that you guys had on "order"

We contacted the Marina a few months in advance, discussed the boat rental options for mid week last week. Paid our deposit to hold a 75 hp pontoon boat for Tues-Thurs. A week prior to our rental, It was calling for thundershowers 2 of the 3 days, so we reached out to the marina prior to our rental. "What do we do if we can't get back across Balsam Lake on Thursday? "response, " Unknown. Will have Juanita call ya". She didn't. Called back the day before, again the clerk who answered didn't have any idea. Suggested I just eat my deposit and not take the boat out at all. NOT. Arrived at 8 am, called the morning of the rental, told to speak to someone when we arrive at the marina. Employee who prepped the boat was of no assistance, just kept repeating what time the boat had to be back by.
Upon seeing the boat, it is nothing like the photograph on the website. It is a very well used pontoon boat. Nothing works on it, like horn, lights, or radio. Steering wheel was off center, radio didnt function, compass was cracked and antennae was non existent. I had to send back the paddle provided in case of emergency as it was cracked clean up the middle. I had to request an anchor, as we planned to tie up on the sandbank and visit with friends Tues while the weather was nice. We had to request extra life jackets, we had brought our own for the dog & child, but none were on the boat for extra adults.
As someone who used to live on her boat year round, I caution ️ those less versed in being a boat Captain. In the event of an emergency, these things are important and could mean the difference between life and death. The weather cleared Thursday after noon and we brought the boat back.
We will be trying to find another location to rent until we purchase our boat.

Rented a little fishing boat to tour the lake. I found the staff were young, inexperienced and disorganized.

The girl who tended to the paperwork was short, curt and rude. They got the wrong boat to start, forgot a seat, and eventually brought a broken one.

We did enjoy ourselves despite the service, but I'm Unsure if I would bring repeat business.

Very friendly and helpful dock attendants. They have done a great job with the new store too. Pride Marina is first when heading downstream (towards the lock) then Rosedale Marina who offer pump out service to larger vessels.

Tried to rent a paddle board and the lady could not "have them ready" within 5 hours of our phone call. Lost business and will never go back. How long does it take to get a paddle board out, just a lazy employee not wanting to get out of her chair to get a paddle board.

Tree limb fell on boat while I paid to keep it stored and winterized. Poked holes in boat seats that were in great condition. Didnt tell me until I went to pick up boat and said they fixed them. They used red heat caulking made for a stove pipe, and said it was not their problem and couldn't provide me with pictures for my insurance company. Needless to say I lost alot of money on boat when i went to sell it as it was no longer in mint condition like when i dropped it off.

Very nice staff and clean place! The boat that I got was pretty old but was very clean. (But I also called 10 min before rental and that was the only one left at the time). I accidently left my tackle box and the lady found it and kept it safe in their lost and found until I went to pick it back up!

For those that go here, make sure to buy a Klondike Giant Cookie ice cream sandwich. I fell in love with it and I would go back again just for that!

Fun filled day on the water. Great for fishing and swimming. Overall great day. And good value. 1st ever out on a boat

A friendly little full service marina right on the Rosedale river, about 250 m east of Balsam Lake.

We rented their deluxe pontoon this week for the day and Britanny and the staff were Extremely helpful. Took the pontoon out and did some swimming with the family and fishing and my daughter caught a 2 lb bass and I lost a large pickeral so if you want to enjoy the day in the sun with friends and family. Rosedale Marina is the place to rent from.

Service was beyond excellent and Britanny and the management team were friendly, helpful and showed us how to use the Pontoon and where to go with the topography map.
All of this made it a memorable experience.

Great service and awesome experience on their fishing boat. We ran out of gas right in front of the channel and they totally helped us out in time for closing. Highly recommend if you are looking for a boating experience and own a license.

Rented a 14' 25hp fishing boat from here. The boat was SUPER slow! I have been on a boat with a similar size and power motor. That boat was able to hit 30-40kmh with 2 people on it, same two people on this boat barely topped 10kmh. Called the marina to voice concern, they said it was normal (not normal). Paid $190 for the day with gas @1.61L & a hidden $9 for oil which is absurd. The staff seemed to know nothing about boats. Barely covered a quarter of the lake due to the useless boat. This slow speed can be a danger as inclement weather arrives quickly and the boat can't outrun a senior citizen. Un-fun, unsafe.

Rented a 14' 25hp fishing boat from this Marina a couple weeks back and was throughly disappointed. First off the boat is in very rough shape, it is old, and runs extremely slow. There was two of us on the boat and couldn't get the speed past 10km/hr, this made it very difficult and dangerous to fish the lake. To put it in perspective, I own a 14" boat with a 20hp motor (5 less) and reach 35km with the same two people. If there was a storm that rolled in we could of been in serious harm. Also, all in we paid $190 for the day (gas @1.61L & $9 for oil). When voicing my displeasure while on the lake & when retuning i was faced with an employee that was rude and couldn't care less (small squirrel looking fellow) Would not recommend.
