Rosswell Animal Hospital

Not impressed by the vet. She completely lacks in social skills, both with humans and dogs. I tried to keep the high road here without going into details. Everyone's experiences will be different but mine was completely negative and the responses made by the vet are completely untrue. I will say that she dealt with my pup from an early age (under 8 weeks, with the original owner) yet she never made an effort to approach him. He had a lot of digestive issues as a youngster and she didn't look into why, just kept selling me dewormers + special vet food despite the total lack of worms in his stool. As for her claim I couldn't put a muzzle on him, not true. I have always been able to put the cloth muzzle on him that they provide and offered to buy one myself so he could be prepared in advance. He's a (rescued) herding breed so can be nippy and nervous but has never drawn blood and has never hurt anybody. You have to ask yourself why the reaction comments on this review are always defensive and accusatory, instead of the calm response other businesses give with dissatisfied clients. I also think it is extremely unlikely that they kept a copy of his file, since I transferred them to another vet several years ago. I will say in their favour that the support staff was always excellent, especially the vet technician that used to work here, and the prices are cheap. You get what you pay for though.

Visited this vet 3 times now and while I thought my first visit was a one off, I am back again to change my review back to a one star as I definitely will not be coming back.
Came in at 2: 25 for our 2: 30 appointment, sat for 10 minutes and then was put into a room to sit for another 15. All while my dog is getting more anxious. So I got up and took her for another lap around the front outside. By the time we were seen it was after 3 o'clock. The visit took 7 minutes. The vet walks in and looks at her paws from a distance (which is the issue we came in for) and instantly says it's allergies and she's seen that alot. Okay, sure I'm not a vet but you think you'd actually look at the paw/skin before determining. The vet was nice, but clearly very busy as she was going to each room before seeing us and it was a long wait. So the vet says she's going to go get our meds and I put my dog in the car so she can relax.
I come back in and the vet already has someone else in the room. The girl at the front desk says she has my medications. I had more questions for the doctor but apparently it's just a quick in and out and at $80 I would assume you could bring up your other concerns with the vet. Nope. So I'm trying to ask the girl at the front desk, well is it environmental allergies or what? Why is she being given an antibiotic does she have an infection? None of the answers I was getting were very comforting considering I couldn't even ask the doctor these questions. Again, not my first issue with this vet clinic so I just paid and asked for her file and records. You can find a caring vet that will taoe their time and not push you out the door. Very unprofessional from the front desk girl I believe her name is Brittany. I was expressing these concerns to her and not once did she try to rectify the situation. I was asking questions like well was it very busy today? (Thinking maybe they're just behind) but yeah, her answers were not helpful and even when I said I usually have time to ask the doctors questions her reply was "awwwww well here's your paperwork" like she really did not give two hoots at all. So I will be going back to my old vet, its not as close but worth it when you're not trying to be pushed out of a clinic and waiting with an anxious dog for what seems like forever to get seen. Definitely recommend doing your due diligence before coming here.

They are always so gentle with my cats. They have been going here since they were kittens.

Dr. Kausar is a great veterinarian. Friendly staff and reasonable prices. I would not hesitate to refer them to my family and friends.

Had my dog there in Nov 2022 to be neutered. At this time, he was prescribed trazadone for his severe anxiety and reactive behaviour. Fast forward to May 2023. I requested a med change for a low dose Prozac as the trazadone knocks him out for 24hrs. I was told he would need to come back in for another assessment. I explained nothing has changed and it causes him a great deal of stress going into the vet. Receptionist didn’t seem to care. I asked if a vet could just call me to discuss the situation and I was told no, they would tell me the same thing. Seems to be money driven as opposed to caring about pets well-being and peace of mind. Not impressed.

I do feel you don’t care. Your vet was scared to touch my dog so I’m going to bring him in for you to do what? Look at him and say yes, he is still anxious. You never offered alternative options.

I have been taking my pets to rosswell for over 6 years and would never recommend them to anyone who cares about their pets. After paying ($35!) for having my dogs anxiety medicine prescription sent to me via email to fax to my pharmacy who sells it cheaper, they ordered it in and withheld my prescription forcing me to get it from them. When I asked for it to be emailed and said we would get it elsewhere they refused. Not only did they refuse but they blamed me for their mistake and argued with me for over an hour. So now a dog with severe anxiety is going without his medication for the weekend until we can go to our new vet. There have been many issues with quality of care over my years of going here but to treat a loyal longtime client like this and withhold their script they paid for making a dog suffer is the final straw. These people care about being right, not about you or your pets. The prices are good but you get what you pay for, please find a different vet. Abhorrent customer service and 0 accountability.

Given their previous reviews they will argue below that my partner and I were rude and we did not tell them we only wanted the script and not the meds and how this is all our fault and not theirs, which truly shows where their priorities lie. We did become unpleasant after paying for something we were refused and arguing for over an hour but we were never aggressive or rude. So regardless of what excuses or blame they give below, a dog is missing his medicine because of them. We’re very disappointed.

Actually I have had many complaints over the years but have been nice enough to not to voice them and nice enough to still recommend people to you despite my concerns. We know our truth as well.

Rosswell animal hospital is a wonderful place to take your pet. The staff is helpful and kind. Dr. Kausar, is very caring and knowledgeable. She always treats my pets gently. The information is always explained factually and not rushed. We love Rosswell animal hospital so much that we drive 90 minutes from Belleville to Courtice and will keep doing it️

Dr. Samina is great, prices are reasonable. All those who work here truly care for the animals, mine included.

Just took our new rescue cat in for his first check up and the experience was great. The receptionist was lovely, the vet was great with him, didn't try to over sell anything and we left knowing we are gonna be bringing him here from now on.

Tank was not feeling good don't no if he eat something or what but he threw up and wouldn't eat for a couple days but got some medical and got his ear cleaned happy to say he's back to his fun loving self. I feel Rosswell animal hospital has very good prices even though all vets cost too much. Thanks to the staff that was so nice to Tank

I just had my 3 yr old Aussie Shepherd neutered here. They were the most cost efficient place. My dog has some anxiety and they were really good with helping him feel relaxed and allowing me to stay with him to keep him calm. All the employees were friendly, kind, and compassionate. I believe the stuff here to have yours and your pet’s best interest in mind. I would recommend this vet and their staff based on my experience!

The most caring and loving vets I could ever have asked for. The prices are some of the least expensive I’ve found personally. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

Last week I had to make the dreaded decision to put our beloved dog down as her mass was too much for her. Their compassion and kindness helping us through this extremely difficult time was truly appreciated. I also just received a card in the mail and enclosed was a paw and nose print. Excellent care given to my little shorkie. They took the time to listen, examine and prescribed meds to help her with her foot infection. Plus she loved the treats!

My cat has kidney failure and thyroid disease stage1. He is 19.
The vet let me know what could happen and also keep eye on him for any suffering. Bubba (cat) has been doing very well and not suffering in any way; however, I was concerned that because he was always hungry and crying that he was suffering. I made the call to have them put him down. The morning of I had a breakdown. I brought him in to have him put down and surprisingly he actually has not lost wieght and the reason he is eating more is because of his condition.just keep feeding him and letting him drink from his free running fountain. The doctor gave him some pain meds because his joints may be hurting.
I can't believe the difference! What I thought was the end yesterday Bubba is doing great!
The doctor said he still has another 6 months to a year!
They educated me on what to look for if my cat is actually suffering.
This is the absolutely best vet around! I also 3 dogs they look after. Staff are so friendly there! And so supportive

First time visiting this clinic today. Got appt quickly and was seen immediately and on time. No waiting. Dr. Islam and staff thoroughly explained everything and provided excellent service. Reasonable cost. Most definitely recommend for anyone looking for a vet in the area.

So thankful and grateful that this animal hospital exists it is so wonderful to know that there's a veterinarian clinic out there that is willing to help people with disabilities my cat got taken care of and I'm so happy that my cat is able to be helped. Thank you so much

Same day service for urgent issues and up front reasonable pricing.

I have brought my Nora to Roswell twice and the staff have been friendly and accommodating seeing her same day for her ear infection and sore leg. The vets provide good no nonsense care and do not try to upsell procedures which aren’t required. The staff was straightforward when I called about fees per service. I am strongly considering moving all my vet care to this practice.

You can tell that this veterinarian care about the people and their animal when you first walk through the door

Had 2 of my family members there with their dogs and because it being a Friday night and closing the dog did not get looked over properly and the following day had to be put down, and with the other told them he's losing weight cause of age what a crock dogs don't go to skin and bone and look pregnant because of age and again he had to be put down. I would not send my worst enemy here with their animal.

For the Durham region this is defiently the best place! My cat had an eye infection what wouldn’t go away. I had originally taken him to a vet in whitby and it was pretty expensive and they gave me some eye drops. It didn’t go away and the whitby vet made me feel uncomfortable just because of how expensive it was and how they were immediately trying to book me another appointment (that I would have to pay for), didn’t all answer my questions and also mentioning sedating my cat (costing way more money). When it didn’t go away and got worse, i did some research and saw a lot of positive reviews for Roswell, I took him to to Rosswell and the experience was much better! They booked me in quickly, did the exam and answered all my questions, gave me 2 antibiotics and a cone- all that was cheaper than my previous vet who only did an exam and gave me 1 antibiotic that didn’t help. Not only that, the medication is actually working and his eye is completely back to normal! I recommend anyone in the Durham region to just make the trip here. It’s a nice office, everyone is nice and the vets are really good!

She's the best veterinarian so friendly good prices she really cares about the animals I won't go anywhere else

Didn't have a good experience with Rosswell Animal hospital in the past. No respect, no advise, not all medication available and no attempt to request medication that I need for my pet. Came in on Saturday without an appointment, the doctor even didn't show up to have a quick look, over the phone she sent me to emergency. All I needed to get some antibiotic cream. Wasn't happy with my another appointment either. Leaving voice msg you never get a call back. I found another place, more reliable. Not recommended.

They we’re really professional they knew what they were doing, and took care of my cat like it was they’re own pet, I am really pleased by the staff and Dr. Samina and will be taking my cat their again.

Dr samina kausar did a amazing dental work on my yorikie Robbie took out 8 teeth that where bad and has looked after the other two for over 10 years we will never take them any where else but here.amazing prices and very professional people.thank you for all the work you do for our dogs <3

Very good service and I find them respectful and nice. I read a few reviews people say they rude. Well we have two dogs been here several times. Always been very friendly.

Reasonably priced, but they can't even vaccinate dogs correctly.

We had an unfortunate incident where our little dog got bit by another dog. We took our dog into a different animal hospital that was nearby.

The other animal hospital called Rosswell Animal Hospital and requested the vaccination info of our dog. We were standing right there and specifically heard them request for an email of the info.

Rosswell receptionist verbally said that our dog was due for rabies and distemper. They did not send the email which was requested.

The hospital that was treating our dog went off the only information they were given and procceeded to give both shots to our dog.

Hours later we checked our own paperwork and figured out that our dog wasn't due for shots until the Fall of 2021.

To make matters worse, our other dog was scheduled for a visit to Rosswell Animal Hospital for her vaccines just a few days later. When we checked her paperwork, we realized she wasn't due until 2022!

We called Rosswell Animal Hospital to aware them of the issues of OVER-VACCINATING dogs. They refused to admit their mistakes or rectify the situation in any way.

I await the reponse to this review in which the owner will likely refuse to take any responsibility or accountability for the poor actions of her staff.

If you take your pets to this hospital, be sure to manually check your dog's vaccine record BEFORE they schedule you in for a needle. Because clearly they don't know how to check the records themselves.

The "discount" you offered us was $25 off of our second dog's vaccination.the vaccination that would have resulted in our second dog being overvaccinated. Nice try.

Knowledgeable staff. Doctor is amazing with my cats. Her charges are reasonable. Love the place.

Very caring and knowledgeable Vet and staff. They took my daughter's dog in with short notice as he was vomiting and the Vet discovered an infection that another clinic had missed. The dog is very nervous but they were so compassionate and gentle that he went with them no problem. Highly recommend this clinic!

The veterinarian at the hospital was professional and thorough. The vet assistant was very empathic as I had never lost a pet before. It was the hardest thing I ever had to do and they really helped to ease my mind and heart.

I have been going to this vet for 4 years and my cat can be very aggressive sometimes but she never really is when she's here. The vet and staff are both very gentle/patient with her so they don't stress her out too much. They also give you a call the next day (or a couple days later) when they give you medication for your pet to make sure they are ok and feeling better. They also have very reasonable prices and they are not going to overcharge you.

I took my moms big dogs in here too and they are nervous to be at the vets but they again were patient with them.

I usually recommend others to Roswell and I haven't had any of them come back disappointed. I also recommended this vet to my brother and he always has something good to say about them aswell.

Do not go here. Horrible experience. They clearly have no respect for someone losing a pet. When you call asking for services regarding putting your pet down, you do not expect to get rude answers and being cut off. These people need to learn respect. I was expecting them to be very nice given the situation I explained but they were very rude, not understanding at all, and not willing to listen to me as they had better things to do than take a second to listen to a customer. First, instead of saying ABSOLUTELY NOT! In a rude manner, say unfortunately we cannot accommodate that, I apologize. Second, instead of providing me with options for my pets issue, they gave me one, which I talked to other vets and all them said there was many options to chose from, but they said there was only one option, this ultimately lead to the death of my pet. They did not work with me at all because they were busy and are money hungry rude people who have no respect for customers and their loving animals. Learn some service manners. Third, when a customer doesn't understand something you do not be rude about it and sigh and say I have to leave and hand it to another person, you work with them as they are paying a lot of money for your services. Don't make rude comments. Not revealing my name for security reasons.

Rosswell Animal Hospital has been outstanding to deal with, especially during Covid, when I had some concerns about my dog. They were quick to respond via email, offered up a solution (which helped) and were able to safely ensure I was able to get the products I needed while following all safety guidelines. We had our first visit in person since Covid began, last week, and as always they were courteous of my time, my pet's needs and cost. I will absolutely continue to return to Rosswell Animal Hospital and appreciate their assistance always!

Staff is wonderful and accommodating. The Dr is fantastic. My cat needs IV twice a week and the staff are so wonderful with her. Would definately recommend Rosswell Animal Hospital.

After a very unpleasant visit with another near by vet, my dog and I were both apprehensive about trying a new clinic. Holy moly Rosswell Animal Hospital blew away my expectations. Everyone was very kind and patient with my dog. The vet got down on his level and talked to him and made him feel comfortable. I was even able to look in my dogs ears to see what the vet was explaining. We will definitely be back for all our veterinary needs.

We live very close to this clinic and my dog pulls to go in every time we walk by it. He is nervous about check ups, tests, and needles, but the staff and doctor are super patient and caring and do their best to make him as comfortable as possible, so he always ends up with a positive experience even when we have to go for not so positive things.

Dr. Samina is one of the best vets I have been to. With two cats and a dog, we live almost across the street from this vet so we started going here out of convenience. However Dr. Samina is so kind and caring, you can tell she really loves what she does. I never feel like she is recommending tests or procedures just to increase our invoice, as many vets do - she is honest with you and her prices are very reasonable.

We had to put our cat of over 16 years down, this was such a difficult thing to do. Dr Samina Kausar and Jennifer Hardy we can't thank you enough for your empathy and compassion. They gave us as much time as we needed before and after with our cat, Rosswell Animal Hospital is amazing.

I very recently had to put my old cat down who was such a big part of my life. This was such a difficult thing to do, but what made it a bit easier was the kindness of Dr. Kausar and her staff. I was so thankful for their kindness and compassion as I was going through this difficult process. Thank you so much Dr. Kausar and staff (I'm sorry I don't remember her name but the lady with the English accent was just so sweet, compassionate and supportive). Thank you all so very much for making this very difficult time so much easier!

I drove all the way from Downtown Toronto to Dr. Kausar from a recommendation from my boss and for her reasonable Vet cost. I can say the drive was 100% worth it. Dr. Kausar and her team were amazing with my Husky and her spay went beyond well all thanks to Dr. Kausar. When I picked up my girl I was able to meet The dr.for the first time and she was so humble and knowledgeable. I am truly thinking of driving the hour each year for my girl’s annual check-up. Thank you Dr. Kausar and team, I am beyond grateful and hope to see you soon.

My puppy was very ill 2 years ago.
They stayed late to help me and took such good care of my furbaby over the next few days and my boy had a full recovery. Can't thank them enough. I wouldn't use anyone else for my pet care. Thank you to the wonderful caring staff.
