Lovely park, beautiful lake and lighthouse, gorgeous views and cute beach.
There are limited parking spots here.
03 August 2022 19:19
No prior notice for parking fee and parking ticket was $65 if you pay within 7 days after 7 days it’s $75. $15 penalty is a a lot. City of Pickering has to reduce their penalties for first time tickets.

Beautiful place for a walk. Beach has sand. Pebbles on beach are smooth. Benches to sit. Area to clean feet. Public washroom.
26 July 2022 18:49
I used to love coming here. And then they redid it all and now charge $5/hr to enjoy some nature.nature that is apparently owned by the city of pickering. If you dint pay, you get a $75 ticket. What a gyp. It was better before they did all the work.
22 July 2022 18:44
Not much parking and no washroom facilities but the walk to the water is very short.

Clean beaches and lots of trees for shade.

This is a beautiful waterfront. It is great for walking dogs, sitting and watching the waves, taking a stroll to see the light house, taking photos, etc. Great views, especially of the power plant lol.

Coming from the Rouge valley west trail and going east, you’ll end up here in this beautiful green coloured light house. A favourite place for sweethearts and oldies alike. This one has a matching Red light house if you continue walking the waterfront trail eastward.

Beautiful Beach. Busy on a Sunny day with lots of families. Many cooking food on the beach. Street parking. Spots close to the beach fill up fast. Great view of the nuclear power plant.
12 September 2021 21:15
Beach was closed today for no reason! They closed it to not let people have fun. It was awful because they just closed it on weekend not normal days.
11 September 2021 8:52
Start your day early on the weekends for it has limited parking. Gem of Pickering and we need to take cae of it. Pick up trash after yourselves.

Beautiful, peaceful area (went on a cloudy, fogging day). Enjoyed watching the swans and running along the beach.

The Rotary Frenchman's Bay West Park has been designated as an Environmentally Sensitive Area by the Toronto Region Conservation Authority due to its diversity of vegetation and significant natural features. The park is characterized by a barrier beach, sand bar coastal wetlands, meadows, and climax forest. The barrier beach is a dynamic beach and sand dune system that is dominated by marram grass and eastern cottonwood. This sand dune complex is a critically important and rare coastal ecological community that can be found in only a few locations within the Greater Toronto Area. The shoreline and dune stabilization process that is being undertaken by the TRCA has helped establish and protect the coastal wetlands found in Frenchman's Bay.

Frenchman's Bay is a great place to visit and spend your day, chill and hike with friends and family. It is a small place with not many parking spaces. Once the parking lot is full, they close the main entrance at W Shore Blvd and then strictly follow “vehicle-out, vehicle-in” policy.

There are plenty of picnic tables around the trail. Kids will definitely enjoy the beach, scenery and watching the wind surfers and paddle boarders. Perfect place for kayaking, paddle boarding, hiking and fishing.

Portable Toilets “Johnny on the Spot” are available. They were very clean and smelt good compared to the other on-site washrooms.

Maintain physical distance and follow all safety protocols!

I live here its a beautiful area to bad the people who visit don't see its value and leave there garbage behind
02 August 2021 18:06
Nice place.locals fish and keep absolutely everything like sunfish not sure what's going on there but nobody is doing anything about it
01 August 2021 7:03
Great place to take the family can get very busy limited parking. Great shallow Sandy Beach. Fishing off the pier. Kayaking. Lots of dog walkers. Some picnic tables and shelter. Can be a very dirty Beach people do not pick up their trash and take home or put in the provided bins. If you do go please be kind and take home what you bring. Could get a fine for littering

A place to experience the beauty of nature and enjoy the company of your loved ones at the same time. One of the most beautiful places I have visited in Canada.
22 July 2021 7:12
It's not clean near beach side.authorities should wrk towards cleaning the wild plants and grass.specially near the chained area.its not easy to.sit down in sand.or have a beach side bbq party.which I had but wasn't able to njoy it.due to wild grass n trees environment should b clean to njoy the view
02 July 2021 4:40
Super busy. No that lives in walking distance goes there anymore. People wandering en masse with no masks. This is a lockdown? What a total distaster area.
21 June 2021 12:37
A sandy beach with clear water and the cool shade of the trees. The disadvantage of this place is the lack of benches and amenities.
17 June 2021 8:34
I kind of miss the old days - before this beach was developed and the environment was more natural.but you can't deny they have greatly improved access and parking. It's a beautiful place to catch a sunrise before things get busy - particularly in the warmer weather.
06 June 2021 19:06
Nice clean beach, picnic tables spaced apart for social distancing and portable toilets.

Lots of birds.

On the Waterfront Trail.
06 June 2021 8:44
Amazing place for kids with lots of things to learn about the nature and history of the area. Nice clean beach to relax and have a great time with family. Will get busy so get there early.
04 June 2021 22:17
Gorgeous walk. Try to avoid going in the early evening as the bugs get a little thick, but excellent place for kids and leisure walking.

I went when it was almost sunset, and the wind coming off the water was really cool, parking does get a little bit busy so I expect a park on the side of the road and it's a little bit of a walk to the bed itself, multiple spots to sit and picnic if you're in that mood!

Nice for a walk along the shore, out to the pier. Great for waterfowl watching on Frenchman's Bay. Good for dogwalking, or cycling.

When the weather us warmer I think my children will appreciate it a bit better, but what a lovely place to visit and go for a walk, or just stay and sit for a while on the beach. Really lovely
16 April 2020 1:09
It is a nice place for walking with friends and famliy. Children enjoy the sandy area. The view from the beach is very beautiful. You can also do fishing, kayaking, swimming and many other water activities here. I loved the place.
02 April 2020 16:09
Amazing view but they had stopped maintaining the path and it was terrible to walk through during gnat season but the view at the end was amazing!
21 March 2020 18:27
Loved the place, one side beauty other side nuclear power plant, good place to hangout in summer with friends. Will recommend for family time.
23 October 2019 22:47
Pristine beaches, nice parking, a boat and jetski launch. Kite Surfing. Great family spot. Walking paths. Scarborough's quiet little secret
16 October 2019 1:00
Nice beach. But wouldn't want to swim cuz it's so close to the nuclear power plant in Pickering. Nice place to come for a walk or relax.
08 October 2019 22:00
The west side is clean and you have alot of privacy. The east side quiet abit busier, parking not so great, but there are plenty of road side shops to gander in. Food, tattoos, antiques ect.
21 September 2019 3:22
I used to do the Shelly school out of this Yacht Club absolutely loved sailing I would completely recommend this Yacht Club for sailing school
10 September 2019 5:45
Beautiful park with plenty of space, kids play area, kids water area, trail for walkers, beautiful but short beach area for water sports or swimming lovers. Highly recommended for all age groups, bbq, plan games, enjoy the greenery or just lay-down and relax with family and friends. Very less spots for parking near the park, but plenty of space outside the park around the road. Come with tents, games, ball games or bicycles or kites etc to enjoy more. Its just a park and dont have alot of monitored activities here, bring your stuff to get busy. Best spot for summer fun. I wonder how it looks like in winters. Just great experience always. Toilets for kids, gents and ladies available only at main entrance, near parking. Wheelchair accessible park and toilets. You can buy snakes or ice-cream in the only shop. Don’t expect alot they might not have everything available all the time. It doesnt have alot of shaded spots near kids play areas, bring tents, chairs and sheet to sit under the shaded trees.

It was oki pretty quiet not too many annoying people around but the sands were really dirty with ash and other small debris. Other then that pretty nice experience.
12 August 2019 8:47
I love spending time at the water and I love being on this side as well as Beachfront at Liverpool, sad to say I've never gone to the lighthouse though, will have to go next time I go to Beachfront, but Frenchman's Bay, is so much quieter, which is exactly what I need when I go down there. It's fun watching the dragon boat practices and the sail boats floating around
11 August 2019 0:28
Normally 5 stars, but due to beach flooding boardwalk is closed. Still excellent location to walk and bike.
07 August 2019 5:27
A beautiful place with striking views. Peaceful, calm, and serene. A nice place to just come and clear ones head or have a bonfire with friends. Make sure and come prepared with mosquito repellent as they are very well present and active.
