You can easily spend hours here. Four floors to discover and uncover the depths of millions of years. Interactive displays and informative plaques navigate you through the years of history. They have available to touch, the prehistoric bacteria rock that was formed before oxygen was present in the atmosphere. Excellent way to spend the whole day it was nothing short of incredible.

Visited ROM on my last morning in Toronto

Your typical museum, lots of exhibits.

Very friendly and informative staff

The ROM is a great place to spend a day with the family and especially fun when you have a very curious and recent graduate of the kindergarten level. My daughter loved it, we just explored and I followed her around. And got to snap some items I thought were very very cool. The Teck Suite of Galleries: Earth's Treasures. The life in crisis gallery, And my daughter was afraid pre COVID of the bat cave, but fearless this time! It was very busy on this Saturday, but was very easy to get around and see the exhibits. A great place to go if you're visiting from out of town. Or have family that want to see it that never have. It has a restaurant in the lower level and a cafe on the main floor. But it's $$$$. The ROM is worth it though.

I can't wait to go back! The special feature was a lot calmer than excepted, too. And I love all the feathers and fluff the dinosaurs got to finally wear!

Amazing museum! Exhibits are very cool and there are so many different ones. Definitely worth checking out.

So much to see and no way you can finish.just concentrate on things you are interested in.we were mainly on level two and we visited with two 3 year olds.really nice experience.

This is some amazing architecture. Located in downtown Toronto, the museum has some of the best interiors and good exterior views.

We visit ROM regularly. It is a world class museum with many things to see. It is good for all ages.

Recently we saw their exhibit called Great Whales: Up Close and Personal. It was great!

Just spent time in the dinosaur and Egypt sections. Was not impressed with the Egypt section, however the dinosaur section was amazing! All covid protocols in place. Maps available inside the museum and also on their website.

A hugely impressive museum. Featuring an incredible collection of archeological, oriental, roman, greek artifacts, geological, modern art and many other interesting things to see. You need all day to fully appreciate this place.

I loved this place as a kid and now as an adult. My children love it too. So much to explore. One of a kind experience.
18 January 2022 6:24
We have the membership and visit the museum as many time as we can. It's always lots of new subjects and interesting exhibitions there that no one should miss

Always a magical way to spend a few hours or an entire day. We checked out the new special exhibit on great whales and we walked around a few of the other exhibits as well. As a child I'd been many times, and this museum may be one of the only places I've been that doesn't get diminished by the passage of time. Totems still seem amazingly tall and impressive, animals are still vivid and lifelike, and the dinosaurs are as imposing and mind boggling as they were when I was young. If I lived in Toronto still, I'd be a member for sure.

I enjoyed the museum with like enthusiasts! We did comment on how we liked the older entrance over the newer one. Such a beautiful entrance with marble
and stained glass, etc. I did t get what looked to be dry wall all through the new entrance. Hopefully, there will be changes.
I loved the pandemic art exhibit.

Great place for all ages. Interesting. They keep changing exhibits, the last couple of years the changes have been for the positive. Outside is becoming very people friendly, we live over an hour away, have a membership, and visit a couple of times a year.

Current Great Whales special exhibit features the world's only preserved Blue Whale heart and some very impressive skeleton displays! A great learning experience to understand human impact on their livelihood, and how we need to change for the better.

ROM IS FANTASTIC!
So much to see, you better wear comfortable shoes and be ready to spend at least 2 hours walking.l repeat at least 2 hours! It's easier to come by subway cause St. George ttc subway is pretty close and you don't have to worry about parking at downtown.
The building itself is amazing.

Went specifically for the Wildlife photography of the year and was not disappointed, amazing setup, not crowded at all (due to the timed entrances) and a great experience, it is a really good exhibit, very well thought out. FYI there is no coat check due to covid but they told us it will be available again in a couple of weeks.

Just found out harry windsor holds an honorary patronage with this museum I never knew this but I am appalled and will discontinue making this a regular destination.

It’s been 4 years that I visited ROM and now I have a 2 year old! Can’t wait to take him with me to ROM. He will be so excited to see dinosaurs and mummies. The place is worth visiting!
23 March 2021 19:02
This museum was one of the best I've been to it has amazing facts and history you may have never learned.
15 March 2021 10:51
Took my family there! The group admission should be revised. The place very organized, clean, amazing for all generations, need more than a day. Alot of information to be learned from this place

A very beautiful museum. A definite must see place if you're a tourist. They occasionally have exhibitions. My favourite was when they brought in pieces from olden China. Loved it!
23 February 2019 4:30
Wonderful experience! All the workers were really helpful. I enjoyed the mew exhibits about Zuul the dinosaur and the wildlife photography. Lots to do so I will have to come back another day to finish all the exhibits. If you plan to see everything come eight at open.
19 February 2019 6:16
Lots of interesting stuff in here. I recommend spending two separate days here because you can’t see them all in one day. Even you can, you will feel bored after a few hours so don’t force yourself.
23 January 2019 4:54
Great place for adults and children. We particularly enjoyed the Egyptian pavilion. The gentleman that explained the mummy display did a wonderful job and has awakened our desire to learn more. Really worth the visit!

This was my first time in the museum since the crystal renovation, which from the outside is pretty incredible looking. Last time I was here must have been a decade ago and I have to say I'm pretty disappointed. The inside of the crystal is a disgrace to say the least. Firstly, as we all know from media reports, the planning of the crystal didn't consider the damage the sunshine would have on the artifacts. That's one thing - but the decision to solve the problem by filling in the windows with thick chucks of unfinished drywall is just rediculous. The perception from the outside is that there will be a grand and beautiful room on the inside but instead it's very claustrophobicly closed in with huge thick unfinished and dirty drywall walls jutting out every which way. Looked incredibley unprofessional. Such a disappointment - not to mention many of the exhibits were the exact same as my last visit, which I mentioned was at least a decade ago.
18 January 2019 19:35
Lots of great things and artifacts to check out even if you arent a history buff. I do find some of the layout is not the best for flow of traffic. I would go again though if local i would consider a pass versus the ccost of day admission as it is pricey in my opinion.
10 January 2019 17:50
Definitely a high end museum. We did a mystery scavenger hunt at the Rom organized by Urban Capers and it was a lot of fun. Definitely gets you looking at some artifacts a lot closer than I'd normally do. Lots of exhibits around although not all are included in price of admission. Some you have to pay extra.
06 January 2019 2:29
Yearly membership is the only way to go here! They trade off certain times with the ago and science center plus a one day pass couldn't touch the time it needs to view this precious museum! Great job guys
01 January 2019 18:03
Was given 2 tickets as a Christmas present and when there is a law saying gift cards do not expire the ROM said the tickets were too old to use (6 months old)
28 December 2018 13:19
Went to see the Spiders exhibit and was a little disappointed. Not as much variety in the live specimens as I had hoped for, and the whole thing was more targeted to kids. Cool exhibit though. The Biodiversity one was great. Very beautiful and sobering to see what we are doing to our planet.
25 December 2018 2:17
Great place for adults or with the kids, tons of fun things to see. We visited the dinosaur exhibit as well as the Canadian history and spider exhibits. I really enjoyed looking at some of the artifacts and paintings from early Canadian history although the kids were bored after some time. The dinosaur exhibit was incredible with lots of cool displays and information. We probably enjoyed the spider exhibit most and were lucky to have had a tour with the curator. We were fortunate to go during the week when it wasn't too busy. Coolest thing we got to see was a scorpion being put to sleep and then milked of its venom. Apparently their is alot of research being done with arachnid venom and its potential health benefits. Overall, we had a great time. The place is huge and plan on spending the day if you want to take your time and see everything.

Classic toronto spot. Went to the Friday night party. It was bopping. Annoying to buy food and drinks tickets. Still have the bat cave which gave me my fear of bats and low flying animals. Dinosaur exhibit is amazing.
24 December 2018 19:10
Excellent place to visit. In the middle of the Downtown Toronto it is quite an informative place. Children love this place and there is a lot of learning for them.
20 December 2018 13:54
My company hosted our annual Christmas dinner at the ROM and it was definitely an amazing experience! Honestly, how many people can say they've hung out with dinosaurs with a glass of wine? ;)

The tapas (lamb popsicles) were amazing! Cooked perfectly with the right amount of seasoning - it wasn't gamey at all! I only gave this experience 4 stars though as our "mains" weren't the best. The salmon was probably my favourite as the meat was flakey and smooth. Other than that, the rest of the food was just ok.

Overall, my colleagues and I had a great time as the venue and service were amazing.just being in the ROM having a party was something I will never forget!

IN TORONTO! Love this museum. A lot of awesome things here and historic relics. They had a historic tattoo show that was crazy. Bunch of World War II tat plates. Prison handkerchief art. I was blown away. AND THE REST OF THE MUSEUM was so impressive, a must if visiting Toronto.
13 December 2018 19:06
Not the most exciting collection. I found the indigenous room to be most interesting and loved the exhibition on how we humans are affecting the planet and wildlife. The bat cave was fun too!
09 December 2018 6:06
The only reason I gave this a 4 star is because the restaurant down in the basement of the ROM is pricey and the food is really bad. But the museum is fantastic. I love taking my kids there.
05 December 2018 16:27
One of the most rich museum that I ever visited. Visitors should spare at least a whole day to visit all sectors. We had an incredible experience of hold in our hands a Dinosaur nail and a part of a bone with more than 50 milions years old.many people do volunteering there. Just must take care of your belongings, my wife leave her iphone in the toilet for some minuts and 5 minuts later already gone, people that picked up not delivered at front desk.and the worst thing is that many people related to us that its happens all time, we are very sad about it.
