My wife was craving for gol gappay couple of months back, they recommended their Dahi Puri (Not sure about the exact name) as an alternative, we went with the recommendation, the presentation was good but gol grappa had pieces of a plastic/glass in it. The server apologized and gave another serving, we were ok as he apologized a lot. Today we went there again, ordered their rubbrri fauluda, took the order and left the shop. While consuming the fauluda, found plasticy paper pieces in it that felt like rubbri (took couple of gulps). I am writing this down so everyone should know as they are careless and dirty.
I ordered masala tea. I thought it would be better compared to tim hortons because its indian (specially gujarati) store. However; When I tasted the tea I had to checked that did I ordered masala water or malasa tea. By the way masala water was good.
Visited their markham branch for the very first time. Ordered 2 noodle burgers and 1 masala fries. Everything tasted so bad. Fries tasted burnt had to through them coz were not edible. Aalu patty in the burger was also burnt and tasted really bad. Did not even wanted to give one star but there is no option for 0 star. The owner really need to work on the quality of the food. Will never visit again.
The hot aloo tikki chat and the dahi puri is amazing. The staff is very friendly and courteous. You may buy just the aloo tikkis by themselves. Do not be fooled by the reasonable price, the dishes are full sized meals. They also have a variety of candy and mouth fresheners.
If anyone is looking for pan, do visit this place. I had an awesome pan here and the staff is also very friendly, I interacted with a guy name Mehul, really a nice guy and very patient.
I have been to different locations of royal paan and found Markham location to be more tastier than others. Mehul was our server and he was professional, friendly and offered recommendations. Food was fresh and delicious
I used to love their food, gave 5 stars too but now changing it to one as last three times food they served was not good, asked if momos were freshly made, they said yes and after few minutes I saw the guy frying frozen momos. Pav served were still frozen, hard as ice. Veg grilled sandwich was not even grilled n was sitting on the counter from last 10-15 minutes when at first they told it will take 40 minutes to prepare the order. You guys need to fix this.
Had the Kashmi chai, Calcutta paan, and the kulfi falooda. The person at the front was very patient and kind. He explained the menu items, and helped my dad try his first paan!
I would rate this place zero star or something in minus. I wish I had read the reviews before heading to this place.
Please save your money and avoid this location of Royal Paan. I ordered dahi puri, dahi kachori and “pre-packed” rabri. And, only rabri was slightly better than the rest.
I have no ideas why someone would sprinkle mindless amount of red chilli on top of both the chaats. They both had zero taste, no flavour except chilli (we told beforehand to the “only” lady on cash & in store to make it non-spicy.) There was negligible amount of dahi and chutneys on chaats. The preparation was not good at all.
The place seems less busy than other locations and so it wasn’t clean. I was apprehensive to order but it was the only indian option near me, as I visited Markham for some office paperwork. And, royal paan has good reputation elsewhere but this location broke the notion. And, half the items were not available from their menu. I literally asked the lady, what exactly is available to order.
We wasted more than $20 in the “name of royal paan’s chaat”.
My only suggestion to the owner would be: Kindly clean the place everyday to avoid bugs & flies. Please train your staff & tell them to follow customer’s special requests/instructions. There is always some ratio or specific amount of ingredients that go in to a dish to make it eatable (unless customer makes a special request). Train the staff to add it appropriately. (PS: I worked in restaurant/café, so I know for a drink or a dish, we follow a recipe provided by company, if not then follow customer’s instructions).
There is no option for negative stars otherwise I will give those. There half of manu is not available from last one week. Today they took more than 45 mins to prepare 2 burgers and one masala fries. Very bad service in this branch.
We visited there today. The place is having bollywood vibes with classic bollywood music. The paan there is good. They different kulfis and street food options. Nice place.
Total wastage of money! If you want to eat good then please don't ever go to this location of Royal Paan. They will ruin your mood. We ordered vada pav and Delhi chat papadi. Both were totally tasteless. You can imagine the extent of bad taste that we didn't even finished the entire food. They should learn how to cook good food otherwise no one will ever feel like going to any location of Royal Paan!
Not a very pleasant experience. No service at all The food was cold.or may be not well prepared or pre prepared. Had good experience at their Scarborough location. This place is avoidable.
Disgusting food once again.ordered some burgers from this store.first the filling in the burgers were really badthey used stale material. DONT WASTE MONEY OR TIME at this store.really garbage food!
I have been a regular visitor to this place and I can tell you that this is the only place I know in GTA that would deviate considerably from their regular paan recipe to make something exactly the way you want it. Most other places that I know, make one or two changes but not them. I have been there may be over 15 times in the last year and every time they accommodate all my requests to make it exactly how I want it.
Not one of the best locations of Royal Paan. Definitely not worth a visit. The food felt stale and wasn’t tasty at all. The pan’s we bought, felt like were made the day before. They can also use some cleanliness/hygiene.
I usually go to Pickering location but I happened to be in Markham so I went there. The Bombay sandwich I bought was not as good as Pickering location. Quality and taste was a bit less compare to Pickering.
You guys need to improve a lot if u are keeping a business in Canada. Every time come here food is not available I asked for Dosa saying after 3 pm but didn’t mention that in anywhere no sign saying anything. Only one person working at store management need to look at the issue. I have same experience before too. Not going to recommend this place.
Yipppeee! Great customer service in the morning when I asked for paneer kathi roll and falooda. Prabh I guess if I am not wrong recommended me to try with rabdi for extra $2 (a bit more price than before). I would surely visit again. Love from Dubai.
One of the few places in Markham open after midnight. Having tried royal paan at other locations, I had high hopes and must say they did not disappoint.we tried few shakes, meetha paan and masala tea.was great as usual.
Had to be taken to ER by ambulance after trying the Lahori Mix Patti Pan (not exaggerating). Careful what you order.
When I called in to ask what's in the paan they were focused on the fact that we ordered it and its our fault. I wasn't even blaming them, just needed to know what's in it so I can tell the doc.
I'm still not sure what's in it but there should probably be a warning if they sell something containing tobacco/nicotine.
The faloodas and other foods are good and I like the place.
Had the worst food ever, worst form of India food, my stomach started hurting half an hour after eating the food, Definitely not fresh.never going or recommend anybody
Didnt like customer service as well as quality of food.there was hair in the food so had to return the dish.totally disappointed.had high expectations.
Very bad customer service.the food was cold and the guy who took my order was rude and not interested in taking orders.i usually don't review but for this service i had to.poor
Night stroll and this place, perfect combination for some days. Just a suggestion maybe, try giving fresh paan next time. Even for food, looks do Matter.
It was a really awful experience. The customer service was bad first of all but the food was even miserable which was cold. It was completely bland with no salt or pepper in it. I ordered noodle burger which had “completely burnt” potato patti. It was not edible at all and it was such a waste of our money as we ordered 4 burgers.
The paan here is very nice and the choices too are nice. The staff is very helpful and help you make a good choice of you are confused. It's not just paan that is available here there are drinks and main courses available too.
Visited today morning for paan and falooda the boy making it was very speedy and described the whole paan to me loved his energy. And falooda was too sweet but tasty as well.
I would like to give them 0 stars if I could The older staff were very friendly and customer oriented. We loved coming here but now it feels they are taking out anger on the customers very disrespectful This was our go to place every now and then we were here but with these staff I don’t think we would want to come here and get offended again
I have been coming to this place for over 2 years now and I love all the veggie food they have here. Their samosa chaat is amazing, vada pav and noodle burgers. You really can't go wrong with anything they got and they have always been friendly with myself and my wife. I'm really confused about all the complaints here haha. But from my personal experience I have always loved this spot and constantly keep recommending it to others.
I tried pistachio falood (recommended by staff) and meetha paan here. Royal falooda was quite good however the quantity of sev and seeds should be more otherwise tastes like milkshake.meetha paan was also good. The staff did care what i would like or not and advised accordingly.
We left the location at Lawrence and Markham and came to this Markham and 14th location due to poor customer service at the first one. Service was not bad at the second location but the food was awful and not really edible. We came around 4: 30 on Oct 14th and when we got home and opened it up the batura looked odd. It was undercooked and was super oily. The chole had no flavour.
We are huge fans of this franchise but there are so many inconsistencies from location to location. We're going to take a break from eating here because of the disappointment we've been facing recently.
I have tried Royal Paan before located in Ajax/ Pickering area, and so came here when I was around. I always like their paan and food items. So ordered & paid for "Vada Pav" with a chaat for take out. After coming home I saw that there is no Vada inside the Pav, just 2 pieces of bread with chutney. And my reaction was "Seriously! This is how you cheat your users". I am definitely not coming back here. However I will definitely go to Ajax location.
Good place. Cheap and affordable prices. Parking (10/10) Staff (9/10) Services (7/10) Professionalism (7/10) The heater was not working so you might feel cold inside in winter Waiting time (6/10) Wifi facility (0/10) Entertainment facility (10/10) usually Bollywood songs are played on TV Hygiene and cleanliness (9/10) Overall satisfactory Usually a good desi Indian experience
Great customer service, A girl by name twinkle went above and beyond to make sure our food tasted perfect, and fulfilled all our requests like a true champ.
Excellent food. Almost everything on the menu is worth trying. The calcutta paan is good too. Service can be a little slow during peak times but just from the sheer volume of people coming in for dining in and takeouts. Seating space is limited so get there early!:)
Sanitation is biggest issue. Same person making paan and handling money no hand washing at all. Staff in the kitchen not wearing hair nets or gloves. Terrible and tasteless paan and expensive. Customer service is another issue no greetings and very slow service.
Must visit for a soul satisfying experience of authentic Indian Chaats! The menu is mix of popular items from around India. The noodle burger was delicious and even the rose lassi just perfect. Their chutneys taste like home and every bite brings memories. Samosa chaat, papdi chaat is delicious too. They have different flavors of paan which are interesting to try. Wil be going back again and again!
Excellent food option. I am not Indian but found it very easy to navigate the menu, which is in English. Very tasty and different food. Well worth a try. Have been to this chain in Pickering too - they have great options and quality.
This is a recently opened Franchise of Royal Paan in Markham. They commenced their business in September, 2019. They have an extensive menu of Authentic style vegetarian street foods, besides their Paans and desserts. We ordered several dishes such as Pav Bhaji, Pani Puri, Dahi Puri, Bombay Burger, Bombay Grilled Sandwich, Rabri, and Ginger-Cardamom Chai. Everything was excellent and fresh. Sorry for not posting more pics because once I tasted it, I almost forgot to take pictures, as I got so much indulged in savouring the food. 3 days ago we tried their Rabri Kulfi Falooda and Meetha Paan. Note that on weekdays their street food items' kitchen closes by 10: 30 pm. So be there before that time. Eventhough it is 35 mins away from my residence, I can see myself being a regular customer there. Next time the plan is to try their Vada Pav, Paneer Kathi roll and more. The staff is very humble, and they have good food handling skills. The place is clean and welcoming. You can see them preparing your order in front of you so no gimmicks. Give them a try, and you will not regret. Some more pics added.
I've been to Khaike as well for basic paan and I would definitely go to Khaike instead. Their basic paan is wayyyyyyy too sweet, and it's also extremely small for $2.
Went there thinking same level of faluda as the shop at Midland and Lawrence. No good faluda for 9$ in a small cup no taste, liquid watery rabdi, melted kulfi. Waste of money.
