The worst hospital. Took me over 7 hours to see doctor in the Emergency department, and after that another several hours to do ultrasound. The staff is ignorant and doesn't really care about patients. Beautiful example of so called "free healthcare". I wish nobody will ever need to visit this ugly place. Please stay healthy.

Worst Hospital Ever! Only Go there when you have no other options. Rude staff, extremely long waiting times and also they are still only allowing 1 person maximum to wait with patient which is a real inconvience for some families. Whats the point expand this hospital if the service remains the same. I wish i can provide minus stars here.

I have spent many days, nights at this hospital myself or with friends or family. The hosp6ital is amazing once you get past the gates of hell the call Emergency department. The total amount of uncaring and their factory type setting is soo totally disgusting and un acceptable. It gives this hospital a really bad rep.
FIX YOUR EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT. Suggestions. Chairs as you go in. Treat people with respect, Maybe check on people waiting for hours. Maybe offer a drink of water or a cool cloth or something to throw up in if required. Just some common decency things. This would go a long way to improving perceptions of this hospital.is amazing once you

Always a positive experience, we have had to use imaging and emergency and both are well organized with minimal wait times.

This review is regarding the birthing unit.

My daughter was born there, November 11. All the nurses and staff were extremely attentive and amazing towards us. They made everything go super smooth and were very knowledgable and approachable.
My wife and I cannot thank them enough for the amazing work that they did during our stay. Just want to give a special thank you to nurses: Anne and kim labour and delivery.

Today I had my surgery with Dr. Di Menna, and I have to say that from the moment I entered until I left, I felt the support of everyone, they treated me with a lot of respect, and affection, the nurses, the anesthetist, and the doctor, they also took care of me.looking for a person I think his name is Andrea, who spoke my language, thank you all very much, true professionals

I'm disgusted what you've done with my niece, I've supported this hospital for years! Y niece went in with a blood clot on her lung also has a brain tumor and you kicked her out of her room shame on you!

Absolutely no help what so ever in a lot of pain and rather than trying to solve the problems or do more testing (I basically had to beg for pain meds and at the very least an x ray) the "Doctor" tells me I have to contact my family doctor (WHO IS THE ONE WHO TOLD ME TO GO TO THE HOSPITAL) to send me to any specialists it is Friday so now I have to suffer for the entire weekend until I can contact my doctor and to wait for a specialist could be weeks months I hear other doctors tell other patients they are going to do a referral? !
Literally drive to any other hospital RVH ROYAL VICTORIA HOSPITAL IN BARRIE is a f. JOKE.
ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED.

I had facial reconstruction surgery here and highly recommend this hospital. The staff are very caring and helpful, they are patient and kind when your nerves are bad, never make you feel like you’re a bother, and to top it off the meals were good (even though I was first on a liquid diet and then a pureed diet). While I would never recommend a hospital stay, I preferred this one over other hospitals.

Gashed my head this morning after fainting and was in and out of the Emergency Dept in 2 1/2 hours. Had an amazing nurse, Emily, who was so attentive to her patients. Emily and Dr. Armstrong worked together to stitch me up, and they were so lovely.

My experience is based on Obstetrics at RVH. The nurses at Labor and Delivery were amazing and I had such a positive experience. The nurses made me feel heard and took care of me from the moment I entered. They were encouraging and very attentive. When they had to switch shifts they updated each other and introduced the nurse taking over. The nurses I had that left an impression on me were Krista, Kristen and Victoria. Thanks for everything!

Also had a good experience with the nurse at the Bili Ruben clinic who was very informative and gave excellent advice on clearing the jaundice. She also provided lactation consultation which was very helpful.

You will die waiting to see a doctor. 9hours wait and havnt seen a Dr. GO TO A REAL HOSPITAL

Every time I come to this hospital I regret it. Wait times are ridiculous and the care is sub-par at best. People having to come back due to not getting proper care is what leads to such long wait times. You get what you pay for here

I went to the ER, underwent testing, and was admitted for surgery. During my stay at the RVH, I had superior care. The staff was professional, friendly, and very helpful. I felt well cared for and completely comfortable with their ability to to an outstanding job. I wouldn't hesitate to go back to this hospital in the future.

I was back at the RVH ER last week (3 months after my surgery), and once again I was so impressed with the professionalism, caring, and friendliness of the staff. I am astounded when I read the less than stellar reviews of the hospital. My experiences there couldn't have been better!

I’ve been to a lot of ER’s in my days and this hospital has been by far the worst experience. I sat there for 6 hours only to get blood work done, until I decided I can’t take it anymore and left. They are ridiculously slow, it felt like there was only 1 doctor looking after 50+ people, for the last 2 hours not one person was even being called in. The nurses and doctors had such a lack of care, which then reflected in the overall atmosphere and the crazy wait times. I asked the nurse if she had an estimate on how much longer and she responds ‘well you’ve waited for 6 hours now and the guy before you has waited 8 so atleast a couple more hours atleast. ’ Not a question at all on how my pain is, if it’s gotten worse or anything but rather this guy has waited longer cause he’s been here longer so you just have to continue to wait. Just brutal. If you’re in serious pain I would highly suggest going to another hospital even if it means you have to drive a little further.

How bothered the entire staff seemed to be by the presence of people in need is itself sickening- those who stand by and watch as others are mistreated are just as bad. Make life changes if you’re so miserable. You should be ashamed.

Whoever designed the visitor parking for this place was either blind or absolutely hammered. Zero parking, trying to get out is another horror show

Ignorant nurses not helpful at all they will sit and look at you like your crazy when your in extreme pain, my father had to call the ambulance from the emergency room unit because no one was helping my step mother who was in extreme pain (labour) this incident happened some years ago but does not change my opinion how awful and disgusting they treat patients. If you want good care I would avoid this location.

I was there in 2019 and gave birth to my daughter. Had a great experience with the nurses and my female Dr. Today I took my mother for a MRI because she's experiencing somethings that are not pleasant and need to be checked out. We're in the waiting room and the technician comes out and calls my moms name out, no smile, looks pissy and just straight up like someone pissed in her cereal. How messed up is that? What ever happened to greeting a patient? Showing some sympathy for why they are there in the first place. I can't believe how technicians, nurses and receptionist are nowadays. Get off your high horses people or get another career. We pay our taxes.do your job! My mom didn't piss in your cereal. Show some respect for people and some sympathy for sick people.

My MRI visit could not have been better. Though working on a Sunday night, both the intake person and technician were cordial - pleasantly and respectfully repeating instructions as needed. Facilities were clean, bright, and well organized. They were on time too.

The hospital’s infrastructure appeared quite dated, and the atmosphere felt dingy. What stood out even more was the staff’s lack of attentiveness. Many of them seemed engrossed in conversations, paying little heed to patients waiting by the registration desk.

The waiting area was packed and disorganized, with no available seating. The overall demeanor of the staff was disappointingly nonchalant, which didn’t instill confidence in the quality of care one might receive. I even checked previous reviews before my visit, hoping it was just an unfortunate coincidence, but alas, my experience mirrored those negative accounts.

I endured a frustrating wait of over 20 minutes just to be acknowledged. What was particularly irksome was that the nurse responsible wasn’t attending to another patient but rather engrossed in a conversation with a colleague. She did glance my way a few times but only seemed motivated to act when the line of waiting patients extended outside.

Regrettably, this visit left me with a strong conviction that I will never return to this hospital. In the end, I made the drive to Vaughan, where I received the care and attention that patients rightfully deserve. My advice: Avoid this place if you can, as there are undoubtedly better options available.

I would give them a zero if it were possiable. My sister who has GISTS. Cancer, was raken in by ambulance last Wednesday. She was on a stretcher for 5.25 hrs and NO ONE looked at her. If it were not for her son doing for her, she would have been absolutely alone. I for one will not put all the blame on the Government as that is a very poor excuse for not doing your job. Shame on all the medical staff that did absolutely NOTHING for my sister while in there.

Worst hospital ever. If you want to live do not go there. You will have a better chance at a hospital in the city of Toronto where they take better care if you.

This place is a joke, almost like a tim hortons coffe shop, alot of workers walking around and chating but no one working or helping, sad to see the canadian health care going to s#it
