Nice spacious clinic, very friendly staff and honest pricing. I've gone to Lansdowne and Highpark before looking for a go-to dentist, but this one is closer and way better!

Royal York Dental rocks! They accommodate my busy schedule, the staff are friendly/care about how you’re doing and most importantly they did incredible work on repairing my chipped teeth from hockey mishaps…if you live in The Kingsway and are looking for a dentist, give them a call!

Feel like being a # and not a patient? Go to this place. It has changed considerably over the years. Lost that touch. Front office staff lacks any personal touch.

I am a long time patient. The care is good, though expensive. It is well over the fee guide and even with double insurance I pay quite a bit out of pocket. It seems have gotten quite a bit more expensive since Dr. Joe sold the practice. I like my hygienist so have remained as a patient.

The staff is too aggressive with scheduling and follow up - to the point of annoyance. Even after confirming an appointment, they send reminder texts early in the morning on the weekend and at 6: 00 a.m. The day of the appointment. They also have a bad habit of calling to reschedule the day of an appointment, recently calling multiple times in a morning to see if I could move up my appointment (I couldn't answer because I was in meetings and it was annoying to have my phone buzzing every 20 minutes).

In short, the office isn't the same as it was when Dr. Joe and Dr. Blitz were there, but if you don't mind paying a premium, and getting multiple early morning reminders for every appointment, you will get good dental care.

Royal York Dental has been an absolute savior for me in my dental journey. I have extensive dental problems. I have needed multiple implants, root canals, crowns, bridges and cosmetic work and they have always done an incredible job. I have always been so nervous and self conscious about my teeth and my anxiety before dental work is always uncomfortably high, but everyone from the second I walk through the door is welcoming, kind and most importantly for me, non judgemental. Dental health ca be such a stressor for us that had had life experiences that have impacted our teeth and Royal York Dental all the hygienists, dentists, receptionists and staff make me feel comfortable, safe and welcome. I cannot recommend this place enough!

I’ve been going to Royal York Dental for years, and should have wrote this review sooner regarding my Dental Hygienist, Olya. She is the absolute kindest, gentle, thorough, and caring Hygienist I’ve been fortunate enough to have look after me, and my oral care. I typically dread going to the dentist, for anything, but having Olya there with her warm demeanour, care and friendly smile, makes it so much easier. Royal York Dental is lucky have to have such a wonderful woman on their Team.

Sorry but this office is waaaaay to corporate for my liking. I had been a patient for two years. I found another dental office not too far away. It costs me less out of my pocket and the work is superior.

Patient for three years. Had been told by other former patients of Royal York Dental to watch for unnecessary treatments. Was told I needed four cavities filled. Got a second opinion and upon review of my xrays new dentist couldn't find a single cavity that needed work. I don't recommend this dentist.

I've been a customer for 22 years.

My last two visits have left me in chronic pain, and at this point the handwavy behavior of uncaringness in regards to my experience is questionable, especially with such insane prices for dental practice.

Credit where credit is due, Dr. Aiello, and a hygienist named Olya are the shining stars of this practice. All my experiences outside of their care are usually painful, and leave me with many more questions than answers.

Unless you can secure the help of a practitioner you know and trust within this clinic, I must recommend against it highly.

Royal York Dental is conveniently located few steps from Royal York Station. I went for an initial assessment for preemptive care. The office is pristine clean, and they have all the sanitary protocols in place for patients' safety. I first met Gavin who asked some exploratory questions and did a 3D Imaging scan of my teeth (Awesome Technology!) to diagnose if I was a good candidate for the procedure I inquired about. Then I met Nam, who is very professional and knowledgeable. Thanks to her, I discovered the real state of my teeth and the best options of procedures to address problematic areas now or in the future, including treatment with Invisalign, using a computerized simulation of the final results based on the previous 3D scan of my teeth. Finally, she also gave me some good recommendations for on going oral care at home. Overall a fantastic service!

This is a somewhat late review of Dr. Fahad. I want to say he is the most amazing dentist. Twice he saw me in an emergency. I had lost a filling. He carefully studied my tooth and said: "I can replace this filling without freezing as it is not near the nerve. " His careful skillful hands did this so comfortably!

Another emergency visit: He saw me immediately and treated me skillfully and professionally. He could not find an exact cause of my pain. After careful assessment, he assured me that the tooth seemed fine and we should wait to see if it caused increased discomfort.

I am happy to recommend this outstanding dentist!

Dr. Fahed and the Hygienists were amazing at helping me with my anxiety. They were extremely accommodating (i had to split my fillings in 2 appointments due to my anxiety), and were kind and understanding throughout. I would highly recommend this dental clinic. They do great work, AND are incredibly understanding and patient.

Staff here are very friendly and helpful. My regular hygienist Loida takes great care of my teeth during my regular cleanings and she is super funny. All my insurance claims are done swiftly and come within a few business days with no hassles. I would definitely recommend this clinic.

Go to yelp to see the real reviews. Double bookings, double billing, cancelled appointments with no notice and no apologies. My appointment was changed without warning and I was told, in the most condescending and arrogant manner that I was the one who called to change the appointment! The hygienists are lovely but clearly unhappy. This office was great while owned by Dr Bulger but has changed to the worse since it was bought out. Too bad.

This review has been a long-time coming and I want to be thorough so it will be lengthy. Grab a snack and settle in. I was a patient a Royal York Dental for over 7 years, maybe closer to 10, and I left because I finally had enough.

I have a clear memory at my initial appointment of being told that if my insurance situation ever changed, to let them know, as they would do what they could to manage cost. At some point I went freelance and let them know I no longer had insurance. Unfortunately, by the time this happened the business had already changed ownership and my dental visits only seemed to get more expensive from there on out until I finally decided enough was enough.

In recent years, every visit at Royal York Dental I was told - strongly - that I didn't take care of my teeth. I was told I didn't floss enough and as a result my gums were recessing and in the near future I would probably need a gum graft. A GUM GRAFT. I also should buy an expensive Sonicare toothbrush - which they just happen to sell there. I got so many units of scaling I could have opened a rock-climbing gym. Nothing was ever optional, everything was "necessary". Not to mention, my cleanings were always painful no matter how well I took care of my teeth (so.much.scaling). There was even a time between visits where I flossed every single day. I made it my mission. I went in and was told I need to floss more and I was headed towards a larger issue. They made me feel like I lost the dental genetic lottery no matter what I did.

I started to ask around among my friends and I realized - none of them were *this* unhappy with their dentist visits. I was convinced I must have bad teeth but I'd give a new place a shot because the cost at RYD was just getting to be too much.

WELL - I just had an incredibly thorough (and oddly enough, not painful) cleaning, exam and x-rays elsewhere and both the dentist and hygienist said my teeth were actually in great shape. My recessing gums? Turns out they aren't changing and in fact, they are what they would expect from someone who had braces. Nothing to worry about. Especially not with how well I take care of my teeth. HUH. They also charge the provincially recommended amounts for dental services. And the front desk staff were wonderful. I came home in shock.

Do not go to Royal York Dental. After years of being lied to I feel obligated to share and warn others. Going to the dentist doesn't need to be expensive or worrisome.

Waited for over a half hour and still no one informed me how late they were running. Completely unprofessional. Will be going somewhere else for my dental care.

Horrible First Impression.
I'm sure this is a nice dental office however, as a potential new client they have horrible telephone manners. I called during the week and spoke with Elizabeth who said she would call me back right away as she was on the other line. 6 days later I'm still waiting for her to call me back. I even called back later that day with my contact information and they still never returned my call.
Though if this the type of customer service typical at this practice I'm glad im not a client. Happy to take my business elsewhere

Dr. Amato and his wonderful staff made me feel very comfortable before and after my dental procedure. The nurses explained everything they were doing and also re-assured me. Reception staff were pleasant and organized. Dr. Amato is awesome and the procedure went very well. Overall great experience. I highly recommend Royal York Dental. Thank you!

Truly the best dental experience I've had!

- I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Amato and his team. Dr. Amato is unique in that he's actually incredibly likable as a person. He makes you feel comfortable and seems to care very much about his patients. He's managed to build a team around him that compliments his practice. If I had to do it again (and I'm hopeful I won't, ha) I'd be booking my appointment with Dr. Amato and his team at Royal York Dental.
