Had a great birthday dinner at Ruth's! The food was outstanding as was the service. Lorne was very attentive and brought great personality to our dining experience. We all had a wonderful time and Ruth's was an excellent choice to celebrate my occasion.
Food is always amazing at Ruth’s Chris! It was our first time at this location, and as soon as we got off the elevator, we were welcomed so warmly with smiles from all the staff. Being pregnant, I’m limited with what I can have, and I appreciate how accommodating the staff was. Thank you for the amazing food and service experience during our babymoon
My wife and i visiting from New Brunswick, were looking for a nice restaurant and I happened to see Ruth’s Chris Steak House. The restaurant was closed at this time but a gentleman happened to be close by and provided me with alternate dining. However do to the pleasant conversation i had we decided to return to Ruth’s for dinner. The restaurant was very warm and inviting and as we were being seated i saw the person i had spoken to earlier, Steven Park Who happened to be The general manager continued to be very helpful and ensured we were looked after. The meal and service was excellent and i highly recommend this restaurant to any one looking for a nice meal.
Three of the steaks we ordered were either over or under cooked, based on how we wanted our steaks done. However, our server, Lydia and the manager, Steven, remedied the error by giving my husband a new steak, cooked medium rare as he wanted, and took my steak off our bill. They made sure that we had a pleasant dining experience. Customer service is king at Ruth’s Chris.
One of the best experiences Ive ever had. Everything was perfect: food, service and atmosphere. Our Server Kimberley was amazing, kind and attentive. She even offered to take our photo and let me tell you she has great photography skills! We ordered petite filet, it was cooked to our liking and the sizzling butter made it perfect. They have a great selection of wines and cocktails too. Will definitely go back for more delicious food.
We had an amazing experience last night at your restaurant the food was fantastic. The most impressive was that all hot food was serve on a 500 degree plates. The service from our waitress Kimberly was without the best we had in a long time!
Came here with my fiancé for our anniversary last weekend. Such a nice and upscale restaurant! Our server Kimberly was so sweet and funny, she checked up on us and refilled our glasses frequently, honestly the best service I have ever received. The food was amazing, my fiancé got the steak and lobster and I got the salmon. They even wrote happy anniversary on our dessert, loved this place and I will totally be coming back.
Despite everything going on in the world today, this establishment still remains a pinnacle for not just true, top of the line steak and choice cuts, but everything else that accompanies them. From the handcrafted cocktails, to the classic creamed spinach and garlic mashed potatoes, to the impeccable housemade desserts, I have no hesitations when I say that this place is worth their price tags.
Very pleasant experience. We were treated perfectly from beginning to departure. Kimberly took great care of us. All recommendations that she gave were welcomed as there are a few choices to be made before enjoying the meal.
Best, best, best service and food ever. I've been to Ruth's Chris in other locations (such as Markham) but this location in DT Toronto is the best! We took my son (who turned 3) to this steak house and we were greeted warmly by Brian:) He was super friendly and kind. Kimberly was our server and she was amazing. My son couldn't sit still, and of course I didn't want to disturb other diners so I took him out for a quick walk. When we came back, the food was a bit cold (Honestly I didn't mind) and Brian told me he'd reheat every dish for me! Like WOW! I told him not to worry about it but he wanted to ensure we had the perfect dining experience. My husband and I were AMAZED by this 100-star service. Kimberly also checked on us a few times to ensure everything's okay. She also wrote a cute birthday note on my son's dessert. Thank you to all the staff, esp. Brian and Kimberly, for making my son's 3rd birthday so special! My husband and I will definitely come back to this location very very soon.
I'm not a routine Ruth's aficionado but I'm not a rookie either. I've been to a few over the years, and this one in downtown Toronto was just disappointing. I began to wonder, with so many things lacking flavor, if I was coming down with COVID. First, I dined alone, so I ordered a red winw by the glass. The Argentine Malbec was decent but rather bland. The waitress was very nice and at her suggestion I got the French onion soup. The cheese over the top was the best part of the soup. The broth didn't have much depth of flavor, lacked any sense of beef or umami taste, and the crouton was partially stale. I ordered the petite filet medium rare with blue cheese crust. The steak was perfectly cooked but not prime quality flavor, and the cheese crust was indeed cheesy but barely noticeable on the blue part. Sad. I also ordered the asparagus side which was both overcooked and a couple of the spears were yellowed with age. The local riesling ice wine as an aperitif proved to be the best part of dinner. All for a crazy $200CAN for 1 person. Not at all up to snuff for the Chris.
You know the experience is going to be great, when you start thinking how much am I going to tip the server after only having a glass of water. The food and service was absolutely amazing.thoroughly enjoyed the experience my family and I had so much fun …
Honestly, very disappointed with service. I only gave two stars because the food was good, but other than that… horrible. We were a party and they didn’t allow separate checks and even though some people ordered $80 or $50 worth of food… we had to split the bill evenly and spent $162 each person. It’s not hard to split bills… I’ve worked at a restaurant and split bills for big parties.it’s just the laziness of it and unfortunately the business is now getting a bad review. We were sat at 7pm and ordered at 8pm…. By 11pm we were still waiting for the bills… not great.
Where do I begin? From your kind and beautiful hostesses, the lovely calming atmosphere and our phenomenal waitress Kimberly who I will never forget for making my day so special. My compliments to the chef for making such a delicious meal. Thanks again
We loved our dinner experience at Ruth’s Chris! The ribeye was cooked to perfection and arrived on the sizzling hot plate. The mashed potatoes were also fantastic and super fluffy. Our server, Lidia, was so professional and attentive! Overall, the service and food was amazing, we will be back!
Absolutely amazing experience! The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the food was phenomenal. The medium rare ribeye steak was the best I’ve ever had, extremely juicy with rich flavour. Grilled halibut and potatoes au gratin were also delicious. Definitely recommend and will come again!
Amazing. Amazing. They are known for the hot buttered plates. We shared 1 steak and ordered sides. Still couldn't finish everything. The steak was amazing and perfectly cooked. Go easy on the sides as the dishes are all very filling!
They've got halal steak and chicken options here. The service was great, the menu however is way too overpriced. In all honesty I won't come back here as the steak did not taste special at all. I've had better steaks at cheaper restaurants. But the stuffed chicken was PHENOMINAL. I would 100000% come back here just to have their chicken!
We celebrated my husbands birthday here last night and the experience was very memorable! My husband received a birthday card and slice of cake! What a lovely gesture! The atmosphere and the service and the ambience was amazing! I can’t wait to come back again
We had a great family dinner there. Food was amazing and the service was excellent! Our server Selena was so sweet and her recommendations were right on! This was my daughters, daughter in laws, and sister’s first visit to Ruth’s Chris. They absolutely loved their dinner! Thank you to Katie and Dave for making this such a beautiful family memory for us️We appreciated the kindness extended to us so much! We will be back soon!
Not crazy about the ambience personally. But the the dark, window-less look is clearly due to being below the ground level. Food itself was good. I wouldn't say it was light years ahead of The Keg. But in terms of pricing, you'll pay close to twice the price of a visit to The Keg. Glad I got to experience it, but not in any rush to go back.
Tasty food, great service, the best vibes. My partner and I went here to celebrating our 7 year anniversary. We ordered the tbone, garlic mashed, creamy broccoli and French onion soup. All of these dishes were delicious. The meat was cooked perfectly. The servers did a great job at ensuring we enjoyed our shared meal. Be careful, the plates are hot, and they do a great job at warning you about it. Also try the sin cake, so tasty and perfect for chocolate lovers
This was the first time at this restaurant for myself and my 3 friends. The food was excellent. We had heard this was a terrific restaurant and it lived up to all the great reviews we heard about. Glenn, our waiter was awesome. We will definitely be back.
Steak was amazing! I had a great time eating steak and enjoying the sides. My girlfriend wasn't able to digest the heavy meat, but it was also her first time. The wine paring was also well suggested.
The hostesses were rude and weren't able to pick-up cues. I would suggest replacement given the kind of establishment. I was happy to realize I would be attended the rest of the night by someone else who was professional.
Good place, nice ambience and friendly staff. The place is conveniently located at street level of Hilton. The steak was good but I felt there was too much butter floating in the serving platter. Would certainly visit again.
It was my birthday dinner at Ruth's Chris, Steakhouse. Downtown Toronto at the Hilton's, we had a special room to ourselves our server was amazing, at the end of our meals she presented me with a chocolate ice cream birthday cake which i was not expecting.obviously I was surprised. I've eaten at Ruth Chris before but the one in Markham, it was my boyfriend's first time dining with me at Ruth Chris, and he loved every single thing that we had to eat.
Mid experience. Usually love coming here and booked for our anniversary. The crab cakes came out extremely overcooked (amost black and dry) The chicken was only stuffed on one side. Steak came with an enormous amout of fat. Brought the wrong wine. After none of this decided to discount or comp our order which came to over $350 for 2 people. Slightly dissapointing. Usually a great experience.
Best steak I've ever had and delicious garlic mashed patatoes. It's an upscale boujee restaurant with extremely attentive servers and food comes on 500 degrees plates to stay warm as long as possible. Great place for an important celebration!
Not the upscale steak restaurant it claims to be. For what you are paying you would expect better service and a higher performance from the staff. You could get similar service in a breakfast restaurant.
I’ve recently been holding company events at the Hilton and (out of convenience) have booked our team and client dinners at Ruth’s Steakhouse - the experience did not disappoint! I initially had no set expectations but, from the moment we were greeting to the moment we left, everything was impeccable. Great cocktail and wine selection, the appetizers were delicious and the steaks were to die for! I would consider myself a steak fanatic and I would put Ruth’s Rib Eye amongst the best (and don’t even get me started on the Lobster Mac & Cheese). With all that said, our favourite part was definitely the service. Our server, SELENA, was amazing; professional, courteous, knowledgeable and (most importantly) a lovely human being. She made the entire experience memorable. Well done Ruth’s and we’ll see you again soon!
Beautiful restaurant, my third visit.my server Lynda was amazing. If your not ready to dish out about 75$ per person without the cost of drinks, it's not for you. Food was excellent, small portions, but delicious.
The appetizer shrimp was absolutely delicious and had the yummiest sauce. The 16oz steak was cooked perfectly medium rare and was sizzling! Absolutely an amazing steak, the mushrooms were so good and a decent portion! The fries were delicious and a huge portion! The salmon was tasty and peppery, really enjoyable! They surprised the birthday man with a slice of cake which was a lovely touch. The service was amazing, the only thing was food took a bit to come out but not that serious. They deserve the five stars.
Our 50th Anniversary! WOW! The service and food were both excellent. Unfortunately, I don't remember the name of our server, but he did a tremendous job. Ruth's Chris was a wonderful choice for our celebration.
Took my wife for anniversary dinner, it was amazing and great experience. Love the fact they have a halal options very smart move I recommend having more options you will attract Manny more people. Will be coming back again in future
I have missed Ruth's so much, it was amazing to get the opportunity to go back. T-Bone cooked to perfection, as well as my wife's filet. They have reverted to the original Bread Pudding, which made me sooooo happy!
Excellent food no complaints for the service a little complicated whit the bread a the quality of my filet but is not bad for the price, I am upsetting with the menu and all the publicity around for this restaurant no French menu or publications this restaurant is a franchise for many other in Quebec have a versions in English and French why in Toronto no? The manager don't have any answers only say I will to transfer to the owner This is a big disappointments my money is the same and don't need a traducttion thanks a my education I understand this complexity dilemma.
I've had all the steaks. I also had The Hollandaise and Bearnaise sauce. They were the best steaks i've ever tasted in Canada. The sauces are also nice. The price is also okay. The medium rare steaks tastes the best! I'm going to come back soon, for sure. Such good steaks, The service is the best. I might go to this location again.
I have always wanted to try Ruth Chris. It was good but U miss out on the dining experience having to do take out because of COVID. I will have to try it again when they reopen.
Absolutely terrible inedible food. My partner liked his steak but for non steak eaters, the food is disgusting. I have been here twice and I will never order from here again.
Absolutely the best! Fabulous service very attentive to my order, great NY steak and Rib eye done to perfection! The Caesar salad was very fresh! Looking forward to our next take away, great anticipation for dine in again!
We had the most amazing dinner last night courtesy of Ruth’s Chris Richmond Street restaurant. Everything was beautifully packaged and came with perfect heating instructions. I’m not sure how they do it, but the NY strip was perfectly medium rare after following their heating instructions. Preheat your oven to 450F before the food arrives. Great for a special occasion.
We got some takeout from Ruth Christie's for our first time tonight.we were staying at a hotel close to the restaurant we called pretty late but they accommodated us. The steaks were the best steaks that we've ever had. Well worth every penny. Thank you so much. . Support your local restaurants.
Tapesh and Selina was our servers and they did an exceptional job. Nothing but quality steaks here and the customer service is phenomenal. We were celebrating a birthday and they surprised us with a cake which was very kind of them. Would definitely recommend
I’m giving 2 stars just for the service though nothing special, they didn’t even asked if we are celebrating anything. Me and my partner are not that hard to please, we both ordered medium well steak but got rare and a well done which is unacceptable for a reputable steakhouse. I asked for mine to be returned because it was just so rubbery which was replaced right away. I’m hoping that the chef will take note of our feedback regarding the lobster tail it’s very mushy tofu like texture sounds exaggerated but that’s how it was served. We didn’t bother asking for that to be replaced, cause we’re already full from good side dishes and drinks.
Service was good. Steaks were undercooked (bloody & cold in the middle) and even after sending them back they weren’t but rare when asking for medium rare.
Staying at the Hilton on Richmond you can takeout the food and have them bill your room. Hilton will not offer it as room service, but they ironically have them on speed dail. Great steak.but u need to take the elevator to get it ;) attached are pics of the takeout with a medium steak and potatoes au gratin. Very fresh and hot.
Service is professional - the wait staff are not the typical smiling-friendly waiters but that's most likely their intention given the ambience and atmosphere of the restaurant. The manager came by to make sure we were happy - that was nice.
Washrooms are clean and kept tidy.
The cook on the steak was a perfect medium rare and comes sizzling on a plate. The only thing is both steaks could have used a touch more seasoning (pepper & salt). The garlic mashed potato is nice; the baked potato, ok. Dessert wasn't really our thing but the icecream was good.
The bread plate was dirty but when we told the waiter, he quickly rectified it and gave us a new one.
From the minute we walked in the door we had an excellent experience. We ate at the bar. The food was perfect, and Laura the bartender was the best. I would return in a heartbeat and recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves a good steak and personal service. #ruthsrewards
There are so many great steakhouses in Toronto and I have been to most of them so my standards are quite high. My experience at Ruth Chris Steak House was average in the sense that the Ribeye wasn't as tender and flavorful as I am used to at this price point. The service was good but not great. Our waiter was attentive and knowledgeable but we had to wait a very long time to be served our appetizers and the main course was delayed as well. For the money, there are many better options for steak.
We were 4 quests, service was great, steaks were good and served hot, however creamed spinach and potatoes were room temperature. Next time I will ask to have the sides served hot as well.
It was very delicious. Only advice is to look for the Ruth's 3 course meal at the end of the menu. For 70 dollars (same price as the cheapest item on their signature menu) you get a starter, main course with side dish and dessert.
Booked a reservation for Easter dinner with the family. Less then 2hrs prior to reservation got email saying out reservation was cancelled. No call no explanation. So we took our party of 4 to the Keg. At least your business is appreciated. Now I know why I have never went there before.
I went here just last week and I absolutely love the food. The bread was so warm and melted the whipped butter to perfection. I had the shrimp as a starter and it was great with a sweet and spicy sauce. The ribeye is definitely my go to and the butter coating it is making me salivate just thinking about it. As I was out celebrating, our waiter brought us a free dessert which was the chocolate cake. I wasn’t a huge fan which is why I can only give them a 4-star rating. But the service was amazing as they checked in on us fairly regularly. It’s a little dark but the ambiance is nice and cozy. Sides are definitely shareable and I suggest getting the potatoes au gratin. I will definitely be coming back!
Very disappointing. The prices are insanely high and what we got in return wasn't good. There is absolutely NO correlation between what they charge and what they serve. Our meat was not evenly cooked and tasted o.k-minus-maybe, the string fries were served cold and, well, stringy. The service was so-so, I don't wish to elaborate.
I really don't see a reason to pay hundreds of dollars for poorly cooked average quality steaks that you can just get anywhere! For me it really felt.poor. Nothing fancy, nothing special, zero thought or effort, outdated design, slow service, ugly unappetizing plating/serving and overall blandness.
I almost forgot to mention the desserts. We were unfortunate enough to order two. Being a creme brulee fanatic, I can say that the creme brulee was plain BAD and hardly resembled any creme brulee I have ever tasted, more like vanilla pudding. The second was some kind of cake with berries and mint on top. All the berries were disgusting and unripe, some had refrigerator taste.the cake was just sweet. Needless to say, we barely touched our desserts, not that the waiter really cared, he didn't even ask us why- I guess he knows.
I regret ever going there. Next time I will just go to ANY other steakhouse instead of paying for their rent.
The food was great and all but for 100 bucks a person the service was really slow. Took 20 minutes for someone to come by and it was infrequent between.
A perfect night with an outstanding meal.we had great laughter and service from Kim! Go with the bone in filet and pair it with a bottle of Cakebread. Also they were very accommodating last minute, on Friday night.
Consistently great service and food. I've been going to this location for over 10 years. The mains do not come with sides. For a variety of sides, I would recommend the sweet potato, creamed spinach and fries. If you don't have room for dessert, take it home to go.
What a Fantastic Dining Experience! Excellent cuts of USDA Beef cooked to Your Desired Perfection.the Wait Staff timing is impeccable.the Desserts are Amazing, be sure to save room for some. At least a "Once A Year" Dining MUST!
Nice place. Good steak (not good enough to justify $75 for a 16oz ribeye, in my opinion). Server was good. Was in a party of 11 and I felt it took too long from order to being served even taking into account the large party. Felt the table was a little cramped for 11 people.
Great experience. My steak was flavorful, juicy, and cooked perfectly! The ambience is nice and dim which makes well for a classy dinner and the service was on point. Our glasses of water we're never empty.
I just feel like some things are way too expensive - like how do you justify $14 for a side of fries?
I'd recommend giving this place a try for a good dining experience and to eat a great tasting steak! Expect to pay around $120-150 a head.
