My wife and I took the three day trip to Kingston-Ottawa-Montreal-Quebec City-1000 Islands from Toronto. We booked it online and paid via credit card. We had minor challenge while filling up the details as error messages were in Chinese, but managed to complete it without assistance. There was a prompt follow up call from Safeway Tours to confirm the booking information. We had reminder SMSes from Safeway prior to the tour reconfirming the same.

We were part of the first group to be picked up from Mississauga, right on schedule. There were three other pickup points before the journey began.

Overall, the trip was packed but conducted in a very professional way. The tour guide Sindy was extremely professional and the bus was driven by the ever smiling and friendly Rayman. Lovely people!

We picked the three star option for stay and hotels in both locations were good. There is a paid option while booking tickets to reserve seats in the front. We didn't opt for this. Safeway Tours manages this part extremely well in my opinion. Even if one doesn't pay and reserve seats, the allot different seats to you on each day ensuring that the seats are rotated.

This is a fantastic value tour for anyone who is conscious about money and time constrained. One might wonder, why I had taken away two stars in my rating.

Safeway Tours organizes two buffet lunches and a set dinner on the tour. They also get you group admission tickets for paid admissions on the tour. This is explicitly explained in the website.

However, I have an issue with paying by cash. Being an international tourist, it is inconvenient to carry & pay by cash. Secondly, the place where they stop leaves you no other options for lunch. This was particularly difficult in Montreal where we ended up paying CAD 42 each, for soup, two slices of pizza and dessert. We are strict vegetarian and had very little choice. For heaven sake don't reply to me saying that salads were available as it would reveal your ignorance about vegetarian food choices. So one ️less.

When I did the booking, I enquired about English speaking guide as the website only references Cantonese & Mandarin speaking guide. I was assured that the guide spoke English as well. In reality, the tour guide speaks for 15 seconds in English followed by 3-5 minutes each in Mandarin and Cantonese. It then becomes difficult for you to follow even the 15 second speeches.

I pay the same money as the rest of the people but get a less favored treatment. In simple terms, how do you react when two people go to the same supermarket and buy the same milk for the same amount of money & one gets 1 litre milk and the other gets 3/4 litre milk? That's exactly how I feel. I felt severely short changed due to the above. One ️ less again.

I believe that Safeway Tours should charge less for tourists who don't understand Cantonese or Mandarin. Alternately, they should strictly warn saying that basic/limited English guide services would be available.

To summarize, avoid this tour if you are particular about English guide services and pack food for lunch if you are a vegetarian. If you don't have these requirements, it's fantastic value for money, professionally conducted tour.

Really good service, plus they give you a card with $40 to bet at the casino. The bus is comfortable and the personnel really nice.

Great Chinese/English bus tour company. Located in Toronto. Give you better hotel and meal choices than other similar companies. Give it a try. You will be happy that you did it.

You're lucky but every single time I see it on the highway your drivers are in the passing lane. Teacher drivers how to drive or get better ones. This is ridiculous.

This bus was going in and out cutting off other drivers putting passengers and other commuters at risk. The driver was honking at other vehicles. Very quick signal and lane changes without giving enough time for other drivers to respond. This is just a public safety posting. I have no other reason to post a review.

I was told accurately what time I my bus was scheduled too arrive and they gave me accurate information that it would cost $45 for the trip and when you get in the casino they will load $40 of funds directly onto the players card in downloadable funds on the slot machines. Mind you I only was able too cash out $30 that I won from $40 playable money. If I was smart I would have cashed out and went too buffet but I was optimistic that I could win more which wasnt accurate in my delusions of grandeur. That is typical gambling everyone has a thirst for more which cant be always satisfied.

Safeway Tours raised the bus fare to $45 if you don’t have a gold card. Pre-COVID it used to be $10. Even though they will give a free play of minimum of $40 at the casino, it’s still not worth it.

Left us as we reached the bus, driver saw us left 2 mins early than promised. And we got no refund

We took the 7 days/6 nights bus tour of Eastern Canada with Safeway in 2019. It was a very pleasant trip.

The driver of bus 6631 to niagara casino Liscence#BP2839 on thursday september 22, almost ran me over on the road and when I tracked him down he said he was not from this country and threatened to kill me! Hey safeway tours.now we know why there is no customer service.up yours too.the police have been informed

The service was terrible. I called the holines for reservation and asked the holine representative to add my name on a spot. I told her more than three times. She told me that she did it for 9: 50 on Saturday 24th and when I came, I found out that I didn't have my name on a list. The guide was rude. Without any explanations about how will it work, she told me to board the bus. She used disrespectful tone woth customers, when customers tried to inquire about registration. When the bus stopped at hurontario for pick up, she told me to get off the bus and wait for another bus for an hour, even though there was a seat available. I needed to catch up for boat tour and unfortunately, missed the tour. I tried asking the guide but she disregarded my question. I felt it was very disrespectful and that this should not be way how customers should be treated. I felt it was very dishonest on their end. I was very frustrated. On my way back, I had to board a bus and was told that they didnt have spot. I begged them to let me in the bus and waited 30 minutes. They told me that I could only board a bus that took me to Mississauga and then take go bus to richmondhill. When i asked the guide for location, she told me I don't know and can't help you. I am very disappointed with the customer service. The internet connection in a bus is very bad. I felt this trip gave me a headache. It was a total chaos.

Watching old Chinese ladies push and shove each other in a desperate attempt to get on the bus, then scream at each other over seats was both hilarious and terrifying. Our host tried to calm things down and impose order, but it was a losing battle.apparently some people were told they were assigned a seat number - this is not a thing.seating is first come first served, despite what some of the agents tell you.the bus was very clean and air conditioned, and fairly comfortable.like other reviews say, the drivers are extremely aggressive and sometimes reckless. I'm mostly dropping stars due to safety concerns. You know how they gave Greenland its name to cover up the fact that it's actually all snow? Yeah, I think they did the same thing here.

Its nice and quite cheap. I wish I knew abt it before. I would recommend one should use this when going to Niagara

Multiply times I've seen bus drivers weaving in and out of traffic with near misses. The last one was on Friday July 22 2022 at 4: 00pm near fruitland rd, when Bus# 6971 cut someone off trying to get into the left passing lane then a few seconds later moved all the way back to the slow lane and continued to weave in and out of heavy traffic all the way towars the falls. Definitely not the Safeway to travel.

The love bus tour for me. On the way I can relax and sleep on the bus. Save up engery to play the lucky machine and have some fun.
$35 bus fee, $45-$50 credit into betting account for playing the lucky machine. Wow! ¡

Changing re opening date 3 times now plus no timetable online and refuses to answer telephone

It would be nice. If you call them that there is a voice-mail. To notify the public. When service will resume.

I made a reservation ahead a day before the trip but when the bus came, they said they only took one who have reservation but unfortunately my name is not on the listwhat a bad service

We were pushed off the bus by the bus driver and the secretary. We had booked tickets by the phone for 10am bus.we were told there was no space for us when we arrived at the bus stop.
They let people on who had no tickets.

Very reckless driver of bus 7717 or 7767 headed down the QEW Niagara shortly after 3pm today doing speeds of at least 130 km an hour in the fast lane cut my husband off in the middle lane causing him to veer into the slow lane narrowly avoiding a collision absolutely disgusting the way these tour buses drive I've seen them numerous times driving erratically but never had a personal experience until today absolute disregard for anyone on the road around them stay vigilant fellow drivers

July 5,2019 @ 11 pm. They don’t treat people FAIRLY! We were in line first and they let in two girls just get in the bus without even checking their card and numbers and we were all waiting list waiting in line. We complained but they didnt even answer us they just insisted they are gold card holders when in fact they are not. We all wanted to go home but please be fair enough in treating your passengers! "Safeway tours", worst customer service you could ever get. Attendants are rude, racist and poorly trained, they treat "regular passengers" like cattle. The staff are completely disorganized, today as I was trying to board a bus at Niagara Falls, people were pushing and shoving to get on the bus, an elderly lady fell and other passengers had to help her get up, the attendants were too busy helping GOLD Card members get on the bus. This company is blatantly discriminatory as they give special treatment to their Chinese clients. The way they treat passengers who are not Chinese is completely rude and condescending.

Yesterday night (April 26,2019 at approximately 11: 20pm) I was on 401 just east of the Toronto Pearson Airport and a driver of the Safeway Tour Bus was on my rear going at least 135+ km/hr.
It seems that this is a constant complaint from reading the rest of the reviews. This is a disaster waiting to happen. These (this) bus driver had no reason to be on my rear, had no reason to be in the express lanes, had no reason to be going at such a speed.
I'm sure Safeway could look at their gps and log books to see who was driving but something tells me that it's low on their priority. Let's hope that no one gets hurt. At that speed, people will die.

Really good travels for the falseview casino location at Niagara falls. You can become a member at the casino and after which you very round trip to Niagara falls will just cost you 10 dollars. The only catch is you have to spend some time at the casino before sightseeing the falls but it's worth the shot.

This bus almost ran our family with kids, off the road on June 21,2019,417 East headed toward Que at 6: 10pm. Bus number: 6972

We were overtaken as a lane was clearly ending with a concrete median. The bus was going at least 120 to suddenly cut us off. We certainly don't need a tragic Humboldt incident. I would NOT feel safe as a passenger aboard this bus, nor do we feel safe on the road beside one.

The website is very unclear. In FINE PRINT it states a $30 fee for passengers. It doesn't say whether it's round trip, or that you need to run to some kiosk to get some casino membership cards when you arrived or be forced to pay $70. Too bait-and-switch for comfort.

Tell your lazy drivers to get out of their broken buses and do a pretrip bus 8681 doesn't even have all its head lights

VERY DANGEROUS! Cannot explain how much i hate seeing the busses on the road. They are horrible drivers. Just watched one cut a vehicle off within Inches, and was travelling way above the speed limit.

Took this bus from a Chinatown to the Casino so we could see Niagara Falls. It’s for sure one of the cheapest options. Staff is really friendly and informative. Bus was clean and comfortable and had good wifi connection.

Incompetent and reckless drivers - complete hazard on the road, it's only a matter of time before they kill someone. Today, in blowing snow and partially covered roads (QEW), I observed one (plate BP2 842) tailgating, weaving in and out of lanes and speeding. The sooner this "company" folds, the better. I see they only take cash - something the CRA might be interested in looking into.

We got on the bus at China Town location and it was on time, fast and very easy. Since we didn't have the casino card and it's our first time it's $30 round trip which isn't bad. The only thing is that u only accept CASh! So we have to rush to the bank across the mall and withdraw cash quickly to make this bus. With casino card I heard it much cheaper.return time was pre scheduled but u are allowed to change your return time so it's great! For $30 total

I don't know where these guys find their drivers but Dangerway or Careless & Recklessway Tours would be a more correct. Having driven buses, Ambulances and Firetrucks professionally in my life, I have seen a lot of good and bad drivers. Yet everytime I see a "Safeway" Tour bus it showed me a whole new level of horrible driving. Maybe their drivers are the rejects from GO Transit and TTC driver school, or who knows they might be graduates of the Blind school driving program. Either way, keep yourself and loved ones safe by staying as far away from this company as possible.

On July 29 2018 traveling on the 403 passing through Missisauga one of these buses #6055 merged at the absolute last minute, traveling at an insane speed, and nearly killed myself and any of the passengers unfortunate enough to be riding the bus.

For the first time I really regret not having a dashcam installed on my vehicle. Absolute disregard for the lives of anyone on the road.

I encourage anyone with a dashcam to send videos of these buses to the media. Maybe then they will start being more careful. “Safeway Tours”, what a joke.

Well, coming to this page, I am very sad to see my expirence wasn't a one off. If your company does not take action soon, you will literally have blood on your hands. Just a few weeks ago there was a tour bus crash. It does NOT matter if the drivers are not directly from your company. YOUR COMPANY is contracting these people out regardless, when on the road they are representing you. If the safety of your customers means anything you would be speaking to the company that contracts you the drivers. So incidences NEVER happen again.

Yesterday at roughly 7: 15 PM on the QEW westbound I was driving in the middle lane. When suddenly from the slow lane one of your buses speeds past me at a speed AT LEAST 120km an hour. This being WELL above the speed limit a comercial vehicle should ever travel, it almost slammed into a car in front of it, it quickly cut into the middle lane in front of me and cut me off. That's when I said " ok this bus is reckless I am getting away from it". I get into the passing lane and speed up to pass it. However to my surprise it is attempting to keep pace with me to the point it was doing 130km. I finally get ahead of it and then out of no where it's back beside me about to merge into the fast lane on top of my SUV at an extremely high rate of speed. I lay on my horn and it swerves back for a minute. Only to then bully it's way back into the lane and nearly miss me. I get back to center lane and it slows down to keep up with my speed so if I want to get back into passing lane I can't. It continues to do this to the point when we finally pass Ford drive and it's time to get in the HOV the driver misses the entrance lane to keep ensuring I can't get over. There is a line of traffic up ahead and your driver, then crosses the double line and cuts off someone else in the HOV lane. The liscnse number of this bus was BP3 892. A middle aged dark complexion man was driving with a full bus of customers.

You have the correct information to ensure this NEVER happens again. I am a commuter and if I ever see one of your buses act that recklessly again, I will pull right over and phone the police. I will also phone the transportation authority. As for any future customers of this tour company, PLEASE rethink it. I am serious it could be your life or the lives of your loved ones. You can see the horrible reviews. Clearly this company can not be trusted to keep their customers safe or others on the road. Enough is enough, your company could have been the reason I never came home to my young son. I will NOT stand for this.
