I ordered the vegan beef bourginone. It was incredible. From the amazing aroma, the incredible flavour, the super relaxing vibe or the wonderful owner sharing recommendations, laughs and an overwhelming appreciation for everyone involved with this restaurant. My husband and I will be back very, very soon. Thank-you for everything.
4.5/5! Got the Bun Bo Hue noodle soup, their most popular option. It’s an all vegan menu, which is awesome. The large size is pretty big! The noodles were slightly thicker than I was expecting, but I was rly happy bc I love those:) The broth rly was great, not overly spicy but definitely had a kick. The mock meat was really cool! There was also one fried thing in the pho that looked like an Indian pakora but it obviously wasn’t, but it was rly good! It wasn’t the fried tofu, though those were good too. Would’ve loved a bit more of the mock meat and tofu. Will definitely be back to try more of their noodle soups.
Great place for vegan food! The food was delicious. Great service and calm setting in a busy area. Plenty of parking with paid parking lot next door. Will definitely be back!
I used to love their food- especially the noodle soup-but its taste has changed. The soup tastes like readymade vegetable broth. There are less toppings than before. Maybe the chef has changed? So sad that I lost one of my favorite vegan restaurant.
The food that my friend and I ordered (a Vegan Crispy fish Banh Mi & a Noodle Soup) was delicious. However, the service was slow coz we had to wait for a while for the waiter to come to take our orders and to ask for water multiple times. The place is pretty inside though!
Vegan vietnamese food that looks amazing and tastes delicious! I got the Pad Thai Lemongrass Tofu-Seitan & BBQ Vegan Meat, and was honestly so surprised that the vegan meat tasted exactly like real meat! The pad thai tasted a bit sweet and “tomato-y” which I found quite enjoyable, but the vegan meat really stole the show for me.
The portion size was perfect for its price, and service was pretty quick at bringing out our food (although we went at a relatively quiet time). The only minor con was that it was a bit hard to get the waitress’ attention.
Lastly, the interiors were stunning! I loved how the ceiling had a painted sky and how there were many decorations on the walls:)
Went here for a meal in the middle of the day. There are a few steps that lead up to it so it's not wheelchair accessible. The bathroom is also a flight of stairs down. The food was fantastic. It was really well flavoured. We had banh mi, the special rice and vermicelli. I think the vermicelli dish was a better deal based off price and flavour. The special rice, though year was a bit dry.
I dined in and honestly most of the food was pretty bland and lacking in complex flavour, too one-note. I was disappointed as the reviews were great. Here’s what I got:
- Vegan combo 1 ($14) with bbq chicken (4/5 tasty and good texture), caramel chicken (3/5 kinda bland but good texture), and sweet and sour tofu (5/5 crispy, flavourful, my fav) - Vegan butter chicken with rice ($16) 3.5/5 spicy but very one note. Not much chicken mostly potatoes. - Exotic fried rice ($16) 2.5/5 very bland, did not make it spicy like we asked, but had lots of vegg meats and vegetables - Thai iced tea ($5) 2/5 very watered down weak flavour. Could barely taste vegan condensed milk and it wasn’t thick at all.
Overall 3/5, service was decent but the food was a letdown. I wouldn’t go again or recommend them unless you’re okay with weak flavours.
Absolutely delicious food! I got the lemongrass tofu avocado fresh rolls and the BBQ meat noodle soup, both were incredibly tasty. My kids couldn't stop talking about how good everything tasted. Portions are generous and very well priced. We will definitely be back!
I cannot explain how delicious their food was! Their broth is incredible and the fresh rolls were so flavourful. The prices are great, especially for the amount of food you get. I can't wait to go back!
We have been ordering from here for the last few years & it never disappoints. The Tom Yum is a must I get it every time and most recently we have started getting the steamed mushroom rolls. Their samosas are great too. 100% recommend to vegans & non vegans alike.
Very flavorful Bun Bo Hue. I substituted seitan with more tofu. There was fried and firm tofu warmed by the broth. Soft rice noodles. Broth wasn't spicy to me but flavorful with lemon grass flavor. The restaurant was popular and packed, for a weekday!
The food was excellent, staff was so friendly and I was impressed by the variety of food and drink options. Everything we ordered was delicious but the matcha bubble tea was the best bubble tea I've ever had. A fantastic experience overall!
This restaurant is serving some of the best food i’ve ever tasted. Every dish was fresh, filling, and full of flavour. The atmosphere and service was excellent, perfect for big or small groups. Definitely ordering from here often!
An incredible gem of a vegan Vietnamese restaurant. I got the curry with root vegetables and my wife got the classic Pho. My mind was honestly blown. I didn't think it was possible to create such wonderful broths that are totally vegan. The salad rolls were also impeccably fresh.probably the best I've had with those as well.
Highly recommended! I was only visiting the city, but will definitely come back next time I'm in town.
Negatives: none of the food really stood out and it’s very old fashioned vegan food where they’ve taken meat dishes and replaced the meat. The menu’s also a very confused mix of Vietnamese, Thai, Japanese, with a random Indian curry thrown in.
This is a wonderful place for vegetarians & vegans. They have a nice big selection and the price cannot be beat. Serving sizes are huge. The staff is absolutely amazing here. They always check on you and are always helpful and nice.
This is one of my favorite places to eat in Toronto.
Very appealing environment. Seems like entering into a long-forgotten tropical treasure place in the 20th century. The light as well as the vintage collections add a bit funky atmosphere into it. The food is also a hidden gem. Even though everything on the menu vegetarian, the flavor and the texture are beyond amazing. Personally, I strongly recommend the Viet Coffee as well as the BBQ Pai Thai. The pho also tastes great, mushrooms are the best! The waitress is very nice, she gives very throughly recommendations based on different customers’ preferences. All in all, this is a place you will not regret to go to, no matter in what circumstances.
My favourite vietnamese in Toronto! Saigon Lotus is a reliable and warming place to eat at. Tastes like home cooked meals and is quite authentic. My #1 go to!
Saigon lotus is epic - the food is unbelievable and vegan (i'm not vegan or vegetarian), the waiters are so so sweet and kind, and it's a beautiful place - the painting of the sky above is such a nice vibe.
OMG! Came across this place the other night by chance and today it crossed my mind and decided to go check it out …
WOW! This was literally a culinary experience. Born & raised in DT toronto and consider myself an everyday foodie … this place is by far the BEST pho I have ever had but it’s more than pho the flavors the dancing in my pallet … ohh ya and it’s all VEGAN!
We are discussing how this is going to be our new go to and place to take friends! WOW WOW WOW! AND AFFORDABLE
Really yummy, good quality vegan meats! I love the bbq banh mi.i noticed the service is a-bit inconsistent, as for one delivery, the sandwich was amazing, super stuffed and fresh, the second delivery it was lacking topping and a bit dry.i also ordered tom yum soup but they gave me bun bo hue instead.still decent just not what i ordered.will definitely try them again soon!
I didn't know what to expect from a vegan Vietnamese restaurant, but Saigon Lotus definitely didn't disappoint. Their spring rolls are somehow more tasty than regular ones. The pho broth is quite different to the meat version, but it is very good in its own right. I would highly recommend giving Saigon Lotus a try. They recently increased their prices quite a bit but I think it is still worth it.
One of the best vegan Vietnamese restaurants I've ever had; their mock meat is incredible and each dish is so flavourful. I've had probably half their menu and no item disappoints. Will be back for more!
Wow! Such great service. Quick. Clean. And absolutely delicious. We stumbled upon this looking for something warm and cozy to eat after a long day. We are vegan and prepared for your mediocre mushroom broth pho, but found this gem and absolutely couldn't believe the flavour and variety of toppings! Also, their curry is delicious too. Run, don't walk.
The food is very good, make no mistake. However after eating here I found myself wishing that there were at least SOME non-vegan options. Literally everything on the menu is vegan, but if that doesn't faze you then this spot is great.
Fantastic vegetarian and vegan Vietnamese. Excellent attention to detail and freshness of ingredients. Wide variety of dishes, affordable, and friendly service. I’ll definitely be going back again soon.
Amazing vegan vegetarian Vietnamese restaurant. Fantastic service and delicious food. Loved the variety of dishes and the fact that it’s a fully vegetarian restaurant. Child friendly, A great place for families
After reading all the top reviews I had high expectations however the food was just ok. I ordered the rice roll dimsum which was luke warm amd tasted ok. Then i had the papaya salad with seitan. Tasted good but not enough seitan. Finally i tried the crispy noodle with tofu and vegetables which was not good, no flavour and the noodles were like chips. Maybe i did not order the right dishes but based on the above we decided not to order any more dishes.
