SAIL has everything I need, but I've been regularly dismissed by the older gentleman who staffs the firearms counter. Consistently feels like I am wasting his time, and on today's visit I had to wait for more than 5min while he chatted to a young lady about her absent boyfriend who "doesn't have his pal but just bought his motorbike". When it was my turn, an older customer walked up who is clearly friends with the staff, and immediately jumped my place in the queue to purchase 22LR to shoot "beaver than are all over my property". When it finally got to my turn, the staff was dismissive and walked away mid sentence. I'm sorry that my inquiry about 303 and 45-70 ammo was such a waste of your time, but I hope this staff member learns to prioritize patient customers rather than friends looking to illegally kill beaver. Come on, guys.
Firearms counter needs a serious customer service review and better staffing. Walked away certain that I will not come back after this repeated experience.
Huge selection for all outdoor activities, fishing, camping, hunting, all water sports. Always enjoy taking a look at all the outdoor gadgets, tools and supplies. Great knowledgeable staff always knowledgeable hand to assist.
The staff here go above and beyond to be helpful, everyone is very friendly as well. I usually don't leave serious reviews but I was genuinely impressed by the service here.
I had an incredible experience, as I am getting sent to embark on a trip in which requires me to get out of my comfort zone and the staff at this location were phenomenal especially Goran, he went out of his way to show me the various products as I was new to a lot of it, including the various styles of backpacks to trek with, and the benefits to the various selections and quality, from poles to sleeping bags to sleeping mats to headlights, and more and I couldn’t imagine, trying to find these things on my own if it wasn’t for him. He made the experience so enjoyable, and went out of his way to show service, knowledge, and expertise and highly recommend him if in those departments. Thanks for making my experience the best.
Visited to grab some last minute fishing and camping gear. Amazing selection, some amazing deals to be had. Glad it's not closer to home, I'd be spending way too much time here!
My first time at SAIL and it will not be my last! Bought a Thule Motion XT XL. The guy who helped me, Dan was what made it such a great experience. I was a bit nervous even after doing a load of online research. Dan was super knowledgeable and so helpful. Helped me get it on the car and secured! I was not expecting that level of customer service from a large chain store. If someone from corporate is reading this, you guys are doing great! That or Dan just happens to be one of your best employees. Or both! Either way, I’ll be back. Thanks SAIL and thanks Dan!
Among very few options in Canada related to outdoor activities stuff, Sail is the best so far. One stop shop for everything you need. Spoiler alert: Sometimes in store prices are cheaper than their online store prices. Visiting store, you can see and make sure it suits your requirement before buying than online purchase.
Another awesome sports store, fishing and hunting equipment all up on the second floor, nicely laid out. Not as big a bass pro in Vaughan but I like the layout better at this sail location. Good amount of fishing and hunting equip, good selection of kayaks and canoes plus accessories. The camping section is worth checking too. Also a pretty big clothing area if you don't mind above average cost. I'll definitely be back!
Friendly and helpful staff, not too crowded, lots of selection, and sensibly organized. I didn't find everything I was looking for, but the clearance sale they were having netted us some unexpected treasures.
I really liked their offerings. They have some camping brands like Nemo that I haven't found in any other brick & mortar retail stores.
I purchased a 2 peice rain suit acouple weeks ago. I opened it today to find only the jacket was in it. All the packages were the same size. So im assuming they false advertised the whole bin.
Went to the Gun section.there is this old man who said what can I sell you, when I said hi to him.before letting me asking any question, he asked me if I had got my credentials! he was very mean didn't stay there to help me.he left while I was talking! I'm shocked! I drove all the way to come here to buy what I needed and all I git was disappointment and disrespect. I'm so sorry for SAIL to have him as a sales person
SAIL in Oshawa is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts, offering a wide selection of camping, biking, fishing, hunting, and more. As a regular visitor, I am consistently impressed with the attentive service and diverse range of items available.
Upon entering the store, the staff warmly greets you and is always ready to assist without being pushy. Prices are competitive yet reasonable, ensuring you get quality gear without breaking the bank.
The service at SAIL is consistently excellent, and the staff's expertise shines through in their helpful recommendations and knowledge about the products.
For all your outdoor needs, SAIL in Oshawa is the ultimate destination. The friendly atmosphere, reasonable prices, and diverse inventory make it a must-visit store for any outdoor enthusiast.
I went to buy a rifle today; the old guy upstairs selling guns is very rude and mean. I was asking him questions, and in the middle of the conversation, he left. I really don't understand why Sail hired such an old person who is not patient and has no respect to customers. He should have been retired by his age now! Never recommend this store!
Trying to buy a couple of coats and outdoorwear, but employees literally ignored us and spent time amongst themselves to hang out. I guess we will shop elsewhere.
Great spot near highway 401 with plenty of free parking lots. They have so much of stuffs for the outdoor activities, I just went bought a water shoe for 20$ but there are so many things which will be useful for bikers, camping, and all other outdoor activities.
Took my business across the 401 to Gagnons! Where the fishing inventory seems to be restocked! Tired of sail not having popular items that get sold frequently!
Have ordered rock climbing accessories and equipment online several times and it has always arrived promptly and safely. I finally was able to visit the store in-person to try on some climbing shoes on sale and found out how big the store is! Lots of variety of outdoor gear for different needs. I hear that they will expand their climbing shoe selection which is great news. (Maybe also expand the climbing test wall as well?) In the meantime, I was able to find a slick pair of sportivas that fit my indoor bouldering needs. Also, a huge shout-out to the laidback but super helpful staff that brought me so many sizes to try on! Definitely good deals to be had and a lot of outdoor stuff that you cannot find at your typical Sportchek or even MEC!
I’ve shopped here a handful of times and have not had a single negative experience. I’ve only ever shopped here in the evenings. The staff are friendly and helpful. They price match and the process is easy.
