Bought a gel polish from Sally’s Ajax within the last week and when I purchased it I specifically asked the cashier if I could return it since I’d never tried the colour before. She said YES just keep the receipt. Went home to try it on the artificial nails (not my own) and when I tried to cure it the gel wouldn’t dry. Had it under the lap for 15 minutes. Obviously a defective product and when I brought it in to get returned the polish the older women said I couldn’t return it because nail polish is never returnable. And she said “since you’re in the business then you’d know we couldn’t return it because of hygiene reasons” she was full of attitude but then after going in circles questioning my story she said “I’ll return it” if that was an option then why spend such a long time trying to find a reason not to do the return. Instead of fighting with customers I think the priority should be to get all your employees on board with the policy’s of return. This Sally’s already has bad reviews with customer service. I think that needs to be looked into and the workers need a refresher on how policy works and how to treat customers.

They close their doors before the store EVEN CLOSES. Then they just look at you through the clear doors. Horrible service, needs new employees

Went to purchase design essentials almond avocado mousse at the Ajax location. Advertised price in store show $16.99 cashier rang it up $24.59 when I pointed out that this was not the price advertised on the shelf. Her response was this is not my store and I cannot give it to you at that price. She was not helpful, did not try to call head office, a manager no help at all. She just kept repeating that this is not her store and she cannot be responsible for what the other employees do. I found her to be very rude and of no help. I will not support this store ever again. I took a pic of the store price display as proof. No integrity whatsoever.

Today I went into Sally’s to buy my usual hair dye and developer. I get to the counter my wife is about to pay the girls working looked up my account and little did I even know I had coupons in my account to use and I never knew that before. Like do better other Sally’s locations. She helped me even look for a new shampoo and conditioner as mine was discontinued. Point is they were turnt up and went above and beyond kudos to you ladies, who help me today. Big up yourself!

The ladies working today were absolutely phenomenal! My friend and I came in looking for hair dye and some hair treatments and we had a few questions.the girls were incredibly patient with us and steered us into the right direction to get products that work for us! Shout out to the lovely women we saw today, you guys rock!

Went to Sally Beauty Ajax today to buy a specific bottle of nail polish. If I hadn’t been looking for something so specific I wouldn’t have purchased it after the customer service we received.

The shelf price for the bottle was approximately $13.17 which is already an expensive (higher end) polish. We chose to purchase a second bottle while we were in there as an extra. When we got to the cash the bottles rang up at $14.50

When we questioned the cashier about this he stated that they can’t change the price in the register but he walked over and looked at the shelf which had 2 prices. Each price was attached to 1 specific named polish. 1 price said 13.17 and one said 14.49. (The 14.49 was not attached to the name of either bottle we wanted to buy.)

The gentleman said he’d go speak to his manager. We thanked him and waited. A woman approached the counter who I will add that I watched her stand at the back of the store texting throughout the 10 minutes we browsed. I know she was texting because her IPhone was clicking the way one does when they are typing. She said ‘ so you are looking for a refund? ’ We were very confused that either the cashier hadn’t conveyed the information to his manager properly OR she didn’t listen when he spoke. Neither are good.

We explain the problem to her and she stated they had just been SO busy and there had been no time to label the bottles properly but that the polish was SUPER NEW and they were working on it as we speak.

During the time we were in Sally it was rather quiet. 1 set of customers besides us at a time and again she spent that whole time on her phone so it felt like they were making this up as they went.

They stated that no where in their policy did it state that they would honour the prices on the shelves, which surprised me as I do know there are laws around that for most stores. The manager also stated that she had no authority to accomodate the shelf price and that her district manager wasn’t working. She said there was someone else she could call and to wait a moment. So we waited again. The manager never returned. Instead, she sent a third employee over to tell us again that they wouldn’t be honouring the price on the shelf and that they didn’t have to.

All 3 employees had really bad attitudes and lacked any sort of customer service skills. It felt like walking into a clubhouse that they just didn’t feel anyone else was welcome in. The tone the posture the attitude was abysmal and I will never return to a sally beauty store. I will share this story about the Ajax location whenever I can as I wouldn’t ever want someone to leave that store feeling the way we did again.

The price I can get over but the customer service was beyond unacceptable. I will not give my money to a company that snubs its nose at respecting its clients. None of them wanted to deal with us and so they didn’t. They said whatever they could to get us out. Instead of a 30$ sale they got 14$ and only because I needed the item I came in for. However that will be the last time I give them my money.

I think I’d love to speak with their district manager and request a copy of their policies regarding pricing. When I asked the staff they told me to look on the website. They said they are sally beauty and they don’t have to honor shelf prices and they said their prices change weekly.

I caution people to proceed with caution or buy their beauty needs elsewhere.

As an woman of African decent, I expect to be profiled by those who are not. I am a pro card holder who went into this location and could literally feel the heat of the two staff who are also women of African decent as they continued to interrupt my phone conversation as well as repeatedly pacing back and forth into the aisle I was in. If a customer says they are okay, stop asking them the same question over and over again. Second, use your mirrors and camera in the store and stop trailing customers who are there to purchase products. After spending $73 in this location, I guarantee that I will never return. I was planning to purchase more items but I realized that the profiling was not ending.

Save yourself the headache and avoid this location. I was wrongfully advised here on colour shades not once, but twice. When I went to do a return because the associates at the Morningside location actually gave me correct colour info, JENNI (with an I) was the absolute worst rep. (She advised me wrong the first time too). I separated my receipts and was attempting to tell her how to refund to which she interrupted me and said she'd figure it out. Not only did she NOT figure it out, she exchanged my products instead of refunding my money and I was left with a store credit. She said she got anxiety about my return and proceeded to clear the line behind me and have me wait. She also had me wait as she consulted someone behind me. Maybe don't assume the customer doesn't know what they're talking about, and listen to which produces go on which receipts and how to refund sk we can actually get our money back. Kicker is she couldn't even give me a credit because they were out of gift cards. Absolutely unacceptable and I hope Sally's head office reads this locations reviews.

Go to Morningside for actual service with bright reps who don't lead you astray.

I frequently come into Sally Beauty for various items, and it's always such a pleasant experience. The ladies that work here are very friendly, and always more than willing to give product advice/help whenever it's needed. Not once have I ever had a less than great experience here. The staff are what keep me coming back again & again!:)

Lots of options, my go to place. Went today, Kyla helped me out. She was really nice, and helped me find and pick a toner. We need more people like her in customer service, people who are as helpful and kind. Thank you Kyla!
