It was an extremely bad experience. I'm a student in York, and when I shared with my classmates my unpleasent experience, they also came up with the bad and unprofessional experiences they had from Salon Concepts. I am only sharing mine.
1. So, I went for the brows, and they charged me more at the checkout, claiming they included some extra service I never asked for. I am wondering why they didn't tell us beforehand about the extra things and the cost and not surprise us at the checkout.
2. They burned my face with their wax. They didn't handle wax carefully, and in spite of saying it was hot, the staff continued using it on my face. I got a scar that didn't go away for about 10 days. I mean, how can someone be so careless? Especially when I informed them I had a special occasion to attend. It was so embarrassing to even attend my lectures with a burned face.

Went there to get my hair done. I think I got it done by the owner. She’s so nice and super sweet! She did a great job and I am so grateful.

I came here this afternoon, and beata was amazing! I’ve never gone to anyone else to get my hair done so i was very nervous, but she was very nice and gave me exactly what i wanted.i only got a bang trim, but i will definitely be coming back:) if you’re a student in a budge for a haircut, i would recommend this salon!

Got my nails done on Oct. 30, (pic with rings on) it's Nov. 27 now and they still look great but obviously grown out:) Got a shellac manicure from Natalia, great work and first impression. Def going back. I have really fragile/brittle nails so I'm always weary when getting my nails done but she did a great job, didn't break a nail / make me bleed.

Adam was fantastic! Did a pre appointment consult so we could figure out a plan, was very invested and involved during the appointment and gave great suggestions! Definitely will be returning!

Had a great experience with Masoum and Natalia. I only needed a hair cut to get rid of my split ends but Masoum was kind enough of get me a hair style for free. She also reminded me of my bangs, which i had completely forgotten (lol) as i was more focused on my split ends. Natalia did such a great job with my nails. I had never done my nails before, so I was a bit worried how it was going to turn out to be, but I was really happy with the result. Although she didnt talk much, she gave this friendly vibe with her smile and gesture. Definitely going back.

I went for a hair cut and beard trim and I showed them a picture but not only the female stylist didn’t give me the style I wanted but she also cut my beard wayyyy shorter than I told them. The only reason I let them do it was because the owner claimed that their stylist knows how to do men hair.
Very disappointed and I’m never going back.

I had gone for a trim with long layers. The lady who served me wouldn’t even talk to me about how the cut was going. She wouldn’t even detangle my hair and just chop off the part that was tangled to make it easier for her which was very unprofessional. I asked her to untangle them before cutting and she responded with “thats what im doing” when it clearly wasn’t. The haircut was so uneven with the right side being longer than the left. I went back for a refund and show them the cut and they all pretended that the haircut was fine and did little adjustments which made no difference. No refund was provided. Worst haircut experience ever!

I personally love this Salon. I always come and get services here. Hair colouring and cutting done by Masoum is pretty awesome. She is very professional and too good at her work. ️

Best salon in north york. I recently visit it for hair cutting and highlights. Masoum has done it soo beautifully truly like an artist. Thankyou so much salon concepts for your best customer service and work.

I have been visiting the york university hair salon for a year now. I always do haircuts and hairstyling with dear masume. She never fails to deliver. The results are always amazing and her exceptional manners make the experience way more delightful. Love it there! ️

I hadn’t been to a hair salon in years and I decided to go to this one since it was the most convenient as a YorkU student and I don’t regret it at all! The salon was clean and Beata, my stylist, was so kind and knowledgeable. She was very considerate of my preferences and gave me an amazing hairstyle. While I originally only wanted a wash and cut (layers for volume), Beata was so sweet and gave me a blowout free of charge! I honestly feel so happy about my hair after so many years and the experience inspired me to start styling it. The prices are pretty reasonable and you’re definitely paying for a quality service. This is now my go-to salon for my hair. Can’t recommend enough!

They are so unprofessional. I booked online two months in advance and called to confirm my booking asking if they received the booking and inquiring about if they were closed that day due to Good Friday. They responded saying they’re open and yes it’s all confirmed. Then, a day before the appointment they called to cancel saying they’re closed on Good Friday. Completely disrespectful of other peoples time and commitments.

Amazing customer service, prices, and staff. Fred, the hair stylist who took care of me was amazing. Fred takes his time with the work he is doing and trust me when I say he knows what he is doing. Fred has great experience and it really shows in the work that he does. He gave me an amazing hair cut, style and was very friendly. I could not stop smiling when he was done cutting and styling my hair. I cant wait to come back and see these people again for my next hair cut. I HIGHLY recommend everyone to see Fred for your next hair cut. Thank you Fred <3

30$ for a basic haircut (I'm a dude btw, so usually haircuts only cost around $15). Did rushed job. Then, her hand slipped and she tried to play it off like nothing happened.do yourself a favor and go elsewhere if you don't want to look like you got hit by a car on the back of your head like i did.

Fred was a great hair stylist and was able to make my hair look awesome! I came in with blue/grey hair (box dye job gone bad!), and he stripped it down to a more natural blonde look––which is what I asked for! Thanks, Fred!

Got my hair cut and coloured by Fred. I wasn't exactly sure of what cut or colour to get, but Fred provided fantastic advice. He was very patient and friendly. He's really passionate about his work and is so so considerate. I absolutely loved the end result. 10/10

Got my hair cut by Fred. The amount of effort and attention to detail that he put towards the cut was amazing. It was very clear that he genuinely cared about his what he was doing and that he was very passionate about his work.

I can relax going here to do my nails and that's saying a lot as most places don't take my hand or nail shape into consideration. When I come here, I know I'll leave happy

I went to Salon Concepts Spa following my friend's recommendation and I do not regret doing that!
I am very happy with my new haircut and manicure. The service is amazing, the salon works with high quality products, they take great care of their customers and they are absolutely lovely to talk to. The hairdressers also recommended me some good products for me to use at home to make my colour last longer.
I will definitely book another appointment and I highly recommend this place if you're looking for great beauty service.

I had good experience at Salon Concept Spa with washing, cutting and styling. The owner of the salon gave good advice on what would suit me and did a great job.

If you love your hair save your money and don’t come to this place. I will preface this by saying that they had wonderful staff before. Julia used to do my hair and she was always honest with what I should expect. But my experience here today was absolutely horrible. Firstly, having an appointment means nothing here because one person was serving at least 3 people at the same time. Secondly, the hair colouring expert absolutely ruined my hair. I wish that stylists would be upfront about their inexperience, especially with bright coloured hair. I was going from blue to red, and everyone knows that you have to bleach colours before putting a new colour on! She didn’t do that and instead tried to put toner and the colour directly and was surprised when it caught on my natural roots and not my blue part. Then she tried to bleach it, and didn’t really do it properly because it became green. She tried to talk me into keeping it half red, half green by saying it didn’t look bad, which it absolutely did. But by then I was so disappointed, I just wanted to leave and I asked her to just put a darker colour at the blue part instead of trying anything else. I assumed she would use a shade of brown to go with the red. But instead she put black (which mind you is my natural hair colour) and when I asked her if it’s black she insisted it’s copper. Then she proceeds to wash my hair, she didn’t condition it, didn’t use any heat protector before blow drying my hair and almost burned my scalp. I tried to say something about how it wasn’t what I wanted and she just said it was hard to take the blue out, which yes, it is. But I have gone through a number of colour changes and my previous stylist was able to take the blue (which was much brighter than what I came here with) out to re-dye my hair. I really wish they had told me that before wasting 6 hours of my day and almost $250. I wasn’t hiding that my hair was blue. She could have just said it’s not possible and that would have been better than what I ended up with. Also, my bangs literally looked like I tried to cut them myself. I went back and got her to fix it. But I will not be returning back here.

Not bad. I’m used to the way hair stylists cut my hair in my home country where they gave massage, hair consultation, etc, so after coming here I was taken aback. I have curly hair, so this place isn’t for me for sure. I asked for 1 inch to be removed, (she asked me before chopping them and it looked fine) I’m sure she took out 3 inches, now I have to wait 4 months to get the length I wanted.

Only got me started an hour after my appointment time so I had to sit around and wait. Got a full bio gel set. Turned out okay but but not enough to pay $96. Very nice people but they made me wait an hour and then charged me way too much. Won’t go back if I have to pay that much again.

Best place to have your hair cut or anything to do with hair. I had my appointment with Beata she has her experience in the business for a long time. She is very polite and excellent in her services. Thank You.

Went in for a cut to even out my ends and asked for small layers and said not to take any length off. This is the worst haircut I have ever seen. The lady took off 2 inches of my hair. The photos speak for themselves. Horrible.

If you are a guy, do not come here. Legitimately the worst haircut i have ever gotten. She cut my hair like she was cutting grass and they are so short i have to get a buzz now to fix it.

Prices are higher than usual for most salon who cater threading and waxing. Not to mention my eyebrows were messed up a little bit.

I got my hair cut and coloured with Fred. The owner is sweet. Fred is friendly and puts his heart into his work. You won’t be rushed for sure. He takes your preferences into consideration.looking and the pictures and how that can be done. You won’t hear “this can’t be done or that’s difficult” (I you have realistic expectations). My color came out amazing. I have got my hair done in fancy salons as well and even though it’s not super fancy… the results are no less
