I ordered Mutton Rolls, it was too long and the crust was horrible although crisp. It appears, a person who has never seen or eaten a mutton roll made it. Visually it put me off. Those days they made the best mutton rolls but not today. Need to change the Chef.
Came last week and yesterday also. Sorry to say, but you guys push people for good reviews every time which is not a good thing. Last time my wife gave good reviews this time they again said for reviews. It means you guys always say about good reviews. It should be fair to customers. Why do they always ask to mention them in the review? Do you evaluate the abilities of your employees through mentioning their names in reviews? Your samosa are really good and staff too but I don't like the way you are taking reviews.
I get their naan tacos, mango curry. It's soooo good. Their samosas are good also and they have other different flavours other than the traditional ones. I love the affordable and tasty meals! There's just an explosion of flavours.
I would definitely recommend this to friends and everyone.
Samosa options are awesome and the plate combos are the best! Garlic sauce is a must! Great customer service as well, we ordered spinach samosas but they accidentally gave us a different one, they admitted the mix up and gave us a new set and extra, we appreciate the gesture! Thank u guys
I ordered the fusion Buriyani with Chilli Chicken. Ordering the food over the phone itself was a challenge. I could barely hear the person on the line, and there was a huge language barrier. I was told the food will be ready in 10 mins. I showed up in 10 mins and waited another 20 mins to get the food.
The staff were nice but seemed flustered.
The buriyani was extremely spicy. I am a person that can handle spice, and it was too much for me.
My uncle is Sri Lankan Tamil and he's 55 years old. He said this is the best kothu roti he ever had in his life. 5 stars is not enough. Give them 10 stars instead.
The food was very delicious. Definitely will return. But the process to get the food was very frustrating. There's no real menu inside. And no prices except for the daily specials. I had to ask the worker multiple questions about prices and what came with each meal. With the workers' accent, it was really hard to understand. As I was waiting for my meal I noticed other customers asking for prices as well. A digital screen would be ideal for this place as I think they change things up often.
Butter chicken and jerk chicken samosas? Whaaaat! We good ours piping hot, straight out the oven. So so good. I love the unique flavors and the pastry is perfect. The lady serving there is really sweet too, even threw in a free samosa. Will definitely need to go back.
Terrible customer service. You have to train your staff how to behave with customers. Many times I repeat my order but the lady is not serious and sends another person to take my order. I ordered again and the same guy answered the phone while taking my order.no one comes leisurely. Its been terrible visit today.
Nice place in Ajax to get some good Indian veg and non-veg snacks and other food / meal items. Most items are available freshly made, and they are all very tasty.
Great good, very reasonable prices! The only thing I'd like is somewhere to sit, as I always come here when passing through, but I suspect less overhead contributes to the price.
My friend ordered their Daily Special which was a Panzo? I ordered the rice with butter chicken with some mutton rolls, spring rolls and samosas.
The butter chicken was tasty and had a sweeter flavour which I’m not used to but still good. The butter chicken samosas weee very dry but the chili chicken samosas were good. The samosas were super small. The spring rolls were also very try and too crispy.
Service was very very slow and you could tell the people waiting in line were getting a little antsy.
Would I eat here again? Maybe… only time will tell.
One of the best restaurant in terms of food quality food quantity and the food price. I never thought i could get so much tasty and delicious food under ten dollars and that too stomach filling a proper meal for one time.
Wide variety of fusion Indian food and prices are unbeatable. The lady was kind enough to suggest me some vegetarian options and we had traditional samosas and masala chai. Very good experience we had here.
Heard such good reviews about this place, and wish we experienced it. I was fasting and decided to try the fusion samosas and was disappointed. Asked for 4 different flavors and the lady only gave us 2 of the 4 that we asked, lack of friendliness, tiny for the price. Definitely not something I would open my fast with again.
Had the Fusion shawarma plate and it was loaded with flavours. Had half devils chicken and half jerk chicken. The devils chicken truly lived up to its name, extremely spicy. Jerk chicken hit real nice tho. Definitely coming back again.
A grab and go spot (ingredients aren't freshly prepared but orders are put together on the spot). The stuffed patty sandwich is tasty. The samosas are too, but they are on the small/pricey side and often aren't all in stock.
Fusion Sri Lankan - Indian. They have unique samosa flavors. Recommend: the butter chicken samosas. I bought their spinach samosas and of the 9 I bought, 7 were empty (like in the photos lol). No issues with other flavours.
The panzos and tacos were quite good and too heavy! Quantity is way more than sufficient especially of the panzos. We had ordered the paneer butter masala stuffing for both the items and it didn't disappoint at all. We had to order the spinach and cream cheese samosa which was below average for a place called 'Samosa Hut'. Samosa being their main dish, was out of stock so couldn't order their traditional aloo stuffing samosa neither the samosa chaat The other spinach and cream cheese samosa was not that great since it didn't have any cream cheese at all and felt like just an ordinary wrap filled with spinach puree.
We have been here quite a few times now, and everytime we have been impressed with the quality and flavour of the food. The fusion food is delicious. I can heavily recommend the fusion biryani with sweet habanero chicken. Oh! And the "naanza" (Naan pizza) was so freaking good. Will definitely be back.
Love this place for party appetizers as well last minute lunch ideas. I’ve placed last minute orders on the spot for big parties and they have always been able to accommodate me! Thank you for your service.
Tried different samosas - Green Peas Samosa, Potatoe Samosa, Spinach cheese Samosa and Chilly pepper Samosa. Loved Chilly Pepper Samosa and Potatoe Samosa. Spinach Cheese Samosa are sweet to taste. Nice places to have snacks and best thing of this place is you get Indian Masala Tea, Loved it
Wow. The price to portion ratio is incredible and the food taste test is incredible. I tried the jerk chicken patty. The chicken they used didn't have the usual jerk chicken texture and smoke, but but it was jerk flavored. With that said, it was very tasty and I enjoyed my meal. I will definitely be going back.
We have always loved the various options here. But the samosas have been tasting stale recently. This happened the past three times we ordered in last two weeks as if the fresh ones are mixed with old batch. It would be great if this is addressed.
It’s always a great experience visiting samosa hut and at the top of my list for takeouts. Ambiance is very welcoming and staff is really friendly. The food is always fantastic, no matter what I order! SAMOSAS are “La-Ja-Waab”
Worst customer service ever. I waited there for 10-15 min while the woman did her own thing. Cleaning and preparing other food. What a joke. Not even a word. Was going to try the food but now I prefer not to have additional toppings in my food.
Their samosas are disgusting and very disappointing. I love their take on fusion dishes. Very creative. Their garlic stir fried roti is AMAZING. Perfect for curries. I will be returning to try out the rest of their menu.
Very friendly staff, and a clean and welcoming environment, however, their food is beyond subpar. Not trying to be that person here but All of their samosas are sweet and don’t have much flavor. We tried the fusion shawarma too and it was bland and not what you’d expect at all from a place called Samosa Hut. The prices are outrageous too. We paid $10 for 12 samosas and $10 for just one shawarma. At Samosa King/Embassy sweets in Markham, their prices are amazing. You can get 5 samosas for literally a dollar. Al Karam sweets is great too! Their sizes and taste are worth it for sure. I’d say save your money and go someplace else, it’s just not worth it.
Asked for a spicy mutton kothu roti (extra spicy) There was no spice or flavor. Definitely wouldn't go here again. Quality of the food is wayyy down and there was barely any meat in comparison to when I first ordered here.
Word of caution for people thinking this place is halal. Owner was unable to satisfy me regarding where they get the meat from. The certification on the wall is from Quebec.which makes absolutely no sense. They claim to get the meat from a supplier in Scarborough called Ocean Star something (The owner was unsure as well). I will only buy their veggie options which are also at best a 3/5.
Absolutely LOVE this place. My colleagues and I order often for a delectable and tasty treat. We have decided that next time we will try some of the other items as we have been only getting the samosas for the past several months. Unfortunately, the last couple of times the samosas have been hotter than normal, so not as easily enjoyed by all. (I still eat the whole bag.with lots of breaks in between. LOL)
Tried their veggie, tamarind, spinach, butter chicken and devil chicken samosas today. Veggie was by far the best. Tamarind and spinach were alright but I was really disappointed by their so called signature butter chicken samosa which had no flavour whatsoever. Devil chicken was too spicy with no flavour as well.
Amazing Food and Customer Service, I haven't been there in a while and went back today and they (as always Stepped their game up) great new twist of Food and not just normal borning Food but exciting fun Food. 10 Stars ~
Jerk chicken sandwich was sloppy and gross. Condiments were not fresh. The actual cocobread was soggy and sweating so it was a weird texture.
Samosas are not special or homemade. These exact samosas are at the superstore grocery down the street in the same flavors too. Im confused as to why the business owner responded to someone else saying they have been working on their samosas for 6.5 years when they buy it wholesale and throw it in the oven.
I always do my reviews based on three things. Food or drinks, service and price bonus points for healthy and safety.
I order one of each samosa because I wanted to try the taste of all samosa. I was very disappointed with the samosa. The place has a lot of different flavours of samosa, butter chicken, tikka chicken and beef flavour. It was disappointing. I was expecting better the place is named after samosa. Not impressed. I think they should add the traditional samosa in there.
Price is ok for samosa. It’s not too expensive 1.89 gives u 2 samosa. The size is small.
Service was amazing. Thank you
Only think I will say about safety there was no hand sanitizer inside the location. I hope they fix that. It says 5 people inside but it’s a small shop should be 2 or 3 inside max.
Best samosas I've ever had, and I've had PLENTY from the samosa places in Scarborough. The thing that hits home is that the samosas here have a variety of flavours, and while that may mean it's a little less authentic (is it?), I don't care because the cream cheese and spinach one is my JAM. Such wonderful flavours, and the owner keeps on inventing new unique and fun takes on classic shawarmas and biryanis. Seriously, you gotta try this place out, I just wish I didn't have to drive so far away.
I have plenty of reasons to stop you from going to this place. They don't have variety of food and whatever they have there is not fresh or tasty. Samosas were too oily. Their price is very high when compared with other stores and quality of food, service, presentation and whatever is very poor.
The Naan is the best I’ve had. The samosas are ok but the chana masala isn’t good. The chick peas are under cooked and the primary flavour is cilantro.
Friendly staff, good service and probably the best food in the town. Front staff are very friendly. Their kothu roti is very nice and have different flavours too. Must try.
I like this venue very much.there is a very special atmosphere. The food is good.the service is effective and the waiters are trained. The price is satisfactory.extremely recommend.
Good food. Limited selection which is not a negative if the selection is tasty - which in this case it is. We have been going regularly for almost a year and have never been disappointed. However buyer beware. Spicy can be SPICY! I don't mind it but some may not be able to handle it.
Drove from Etobicoke to try this place out, and I was NOT disappointed. The food was amazing! Wait was not long, and food was freshly made. They had a Great selection of signature samosas- couldn’t decide which ones to get so I tried them all lol (for my husband- not me) The spicy Mutton rolls were delicious and the Kothu Roti was EXACTLY what I had driven so far to try. The gentlemen working were very friendly and professional and made this place. Great customer service and food - thank you! Will definitely return
Food did take awhile to cook, from placing an order to receiving it, was well over 30 minutes so I will highly recommend calling ahead. Upon entering they had a nice collection of short eats like Rolls and Patties, as well as some Thali dishes that looked very well done, but decided to try 2 dishes.
'Kothu' Mutton Biryani - 4/5. It honestly tasted like a very wet Mutton Biryani that you'd get at Gasa. Very oily, but absolutely delicious. The whole kothu aspect is not really there, was expecting some roti pieces but it is just a direct replacement for roti with rice and made in kothu style. As a 'kothu' it's kind of downplayed, but as a Mutton Biryani I will put it in my top 3 for Tamil style Biryani.
Butter Chicken Kothu - 2/5. Very dry, like extremely dry. It is basically Tandoori chicken pieces mixed into a kothu. Would have loved it more if there was some butter chicken sauce put into the mix but dry chicken + dry roti with very little wet curry in it made it very disappointing.
All food is so delicious in a reasonable price.great customer service. Every week i try different food from samosa hut as they have lots of variety. This new veggie rolls are love️. Vivek kothu roti is so yummy today. I highly recommend this place.
Great food with friendly staff! Can order food from the display or choose something else and have it made fresh to order. Clean location but not much seating for dining in! Never have any issues here. Decent prices for the amount of food you receive. Some of the best samosas around. They have delicious butter chicken as well as "Devil's chicken" if you like heat.
Samosa Hut's food is to die for! I cannot believe how amazing the food is at SH. I went for the food but I stayed because of the customer service. The manager Jay is too awesome and remembers my name each time I visit. I ordered some food last year for a party after another catering company cancelled last minute and all the gueats were so impressed with the flavour and variety!
Highly recommend! Ps. My favourite is the Chaat so make sure you check it out!
Every time I come to Ajax to visit my bro, I always go to Samosa Hut! I haven't tried something that was bad, everything just is so damn addicting. Always get the mutton rolls and any of the kothus and mm kothu chow mein.and THE FRIED MUTTON is oh my god it's basically heaven. Keep up the quality food can't wait to come back
Authentic Indian at its best. The devil chili chicken will send you to hell with the spice level! The samosas are good. Serving portions are also good at an affordable price!
Delicious food to choose both from non veg & veg. Lots of flavour to choose from. Kotu Roti is their specialty dish wch is made to order, very flavourful. Wow, so many different types of Samosa to choose for appetizers. Staff is very friendly. I recommend Samosa Hut for authentic south Asian delicious cuisine.
