Sam's Chinese Kitchen

If I had a time machine, I would use it to visit Sam's Kitchen before the pandemic. If you own Sam's, please read these reviews. People WANT to love your restaurant again - but life is too short to sit for an hour as you wait for your food. We had tickets to a show at the Centre in the Square and gave ourselves 90 minutes to eat - which apparently now is far too little time. Our server looked like a mess in an old ratty tshirt and jogging pants. She was distracted and short with us. The food wasn't as good as before but seemed ok when we finally received it. But I wont be eating there again unless something changes.

The dim sum is the best I've had in KW. The wonderful lady who served the food was very warm, friendly and super efficient. Drove by this place so many years and always wondered how good it was. The answer is simply fantastic! Highly recommend it.

I had morning tea. I wasn’t hungry at first. I ate a little and waited for more than ten minutes for the food. I was hungry. The service attitude was poor. Some of the snacks tasted strange. There was only one waiter who liked to lecture customers. I’m curious because the boss was the one bragging about in Xiaohongshu. Did you fall?

The dinner for 2s are fantastic. The spring rolls are HUGE! We got the dinner for 2B and it was delicious. Friendly staff. We will be back. Highly recommend.

Ordered some dim sum with my boyfriend and we were both pleasantly surprised by the tastiness of the food. This is definitely comparable, if not better than some places in the GTA. Don’t come here expecting amazing service, it’s pretty bad but I’d say it’s standard for small asian restaurants; they’ll serve you as you ask but nothing more, which is pretty good for me! 5/5 for the food. I’d recommend the sticky rice wrapped in leaf

By far the worst Chinese food in K-W I’ve had in twenty years. Went there for dim sum today and was sorely disappointed. Short ribs were gristle, the shumai was tasteless, and the sticky rice barely stuck and didn’t come cooked or wrapped in lotus leaves. Had to ask repeatedly for chili sauce and water. Terrible.

Sam's have a terror named dim sum. They have old frozen food, hastily defrosted to serve. All gluten disintegrated into a slimy texture, meats are dry from long freezing. Food is literal assassination attempt here.

Service at Sam's isn't anything better. They are a family run restaurant. And literally there's a child wandering and singing ABCs, toys and leftover McDonald's and juice boxes are your tonights entertainment because it's a joke.

There's clear water damage to the ceiling, shelves and countertops are crooked from poor repairs, tables are sticky. If you want to experience literal restaurant hazard trinity in hygienic, physical, and taste buds this is the place.

The Dim Sum is very good but the service is extremely slow and the restaurant itself is kind of messy. Telephone is constantly ringing. They don't always pick it up.
There appears to only be the owners working at the restaurant and the food takes a long time to come out and when it is ready, sometimes it sits on a table for a bit before it gets to the customer.
The quality of the Dim Sum is very good though. So makes it worth the wait.
The restaurant is very dated and has a lot of children's toys lying around. My guess is the owner's little one is there a lot of time so the keep the toys around to keep her entertained.
I haven't tried any of the other food there, I just go for the Dim Sum because it is very yummy. Please get more staff or have better service, you will get so many more customers.
