Sandy Lane Resort

Cabins sleep 8 adults. There are 3 beds and one pull out couch, one bathroom, kitchen, fireplace (seasonal), A/C, BBQ, full deck, fire pit, not much parking is available.

Went to a friend's wedding, had an amazing time, the staff are very friendly and helpful. Hopefully can go back soon!

This resort is one of those experiences that takes you by surprise!
It's a smaller resort on Hall's Lake but we had the opportunity of sharing our last day with a wedding party and had the time of our lives. The owners and staff made us feel that the place belonged to us.

Rustic cabins, but all the amenities are there. The staff is efficient and super friendly. Lots of activities available for all ages. A for sure comeback location for us.

My family and I have been coming up here for 5 years. I have to say this was the best year yet. We have already booked for our next two visits. Janette, Rob, Christian, Gord, and the rest of the staff were absolutely amazing. They all really care. Stopping to see how we are and everyone at the resort. Taking care of any needs anyone had. Christian and Gord, would drop anything they were doing this week to help anyone, no matter what it was they needed. Having two rambunctious boys, it’s a great place for them to burn off energy. The resort is extremely clean and well taken care of. I would recommend Sandy Lane to anyone especially all the families I know, with or without kids. I honestly can’t wait for our next trip up there! Thank you everyone at Sandy Lane for such a wonderful time and experience!

Great family vacation spot. Lots of water and playground sports / activities available. Lake is clear and shallow a ways out. Hope to come again!

This is our 4th time spending family day weekend here at Sandy lane. We come with a group of several families to snowmobile, toboggan and have all around great winter fun.
Sandy lane has everything you need for a great time outside.
The B trail is just a jaunt away, for easy access to all the snowmobile trails.
The resort has a fun games room to entertain the kids.
The cabins are quaint and comfortable. The hot tub rooms are a must:)
The staff are helpful and friendly. Kenny is the best and will take good care of you on your stay.
Can’t wait to come back next year.

Loved it! Cottage was awesome & clean. Had all the comforts that requires to make our stay peaceful.kids loved playground & skate rink, skiing, small toboggan hill, board game room. Owners were welcoming & were very helpful (just one call they would immediately respond to our requests). Would definitely return during summer time.

This is our 3rd time here! Last summer for a week, last winter for an adult only getaway and just left from a week away with family! This place has everything you need from great clean cabins, not many mosquitos, perfect Sandy beach, amazing playground, games room, badminton, shuffle board, kayaks, I could go on forever!

Rob, who takes care of the grounds and the people is so amazing to deal with as well!

Anything you need, they are so amazing here and I recommend it fully for anyone who wants to get away.with family or some alone time! Awesome cabins, thank you and we will be back!

The beach was nice the cabin was ok except the black mold surrounding our tub and the paint falling off the ceiling when we showered, towels you get one set for 7 days we asked to exchange towels they said we had to pay 7$ to wash them and 7$ to dry them. At check in the guy at counter stunk like booze and another employee was driving around drunk with a beer in his hand while socializing with the regulars and talking about the new comers.
Boat rental cost us 400$ for 5 days first 3 days motor broke down in middle of the lake we had to paddle back to shore.management said they would call some one in to look at boat on day 4 so I asked for refund and he said no we will work something out and he never called some one just ignored the situation and I never got a refund on boat we couldn't use, loving being out 400$

Incredible staff and location. Right on the shore of Hall's Lake for great swimming. Staff are incredible, romms are great. Many different cabins to choose from based on your needs. Kayak and canoes are included in the rental as are life jackets. Couldn't ask for a better time, well maintained and the staff are available and fantastic. Would totally recommend. We will be rebooking for next year without question.

Exactly what we were looking for for a group of families! The kids loved the play structures, the beach, and the games room. Just wish there was a water trampoline again!

We've been to Sandy Lane many times and have enjoyed ourselves. The scenery, as always is beautiful and the water is clear. The overall grounds were maintained and there are many activities for the children to do. The resort is family friendly and works for our large group.

Cons:
This year we noticed that the cottages need maintenance (wood rot, brown leak spots, dismal water pressure). It wasn't thoroughly cleaned either, in comparison to previous visits. We ended up removing lots of dust, hair and cobwebs ourselves to feel more comfortable. We booked a few cottages and they all needed a good cleaning.

Response to Management:
Thank you to the management for commenting on my concerns. We did see the handyman several times (he was a kind man and very decent to the kids). By then, we had already cleaned, and so there was nothing he could do about it. Also, as we were already there, there was nothing that could be done about the *brown* leak spots on the ceilings. We made the best of it.

As for the music, no, that is not the cause for my review. We complied with the music request, turned down our music, and continued having a wonderful time. Management came around after that and there wasn't any hostility. Your request was reasonable, so we adjusted our music to accommodate you and I did not make any complaint. Actually, it's funny you mention this because you came to us several times and apologized for your handling of the situation on your part.

What's interesting here, is that your reply indicates that you think our concerns are not valid. I chose to speak about a worsening experience based on the excellence that we have enjoyed in the past. We have a valid reason to write what we experienced.

Excellent staff. Friendly, welcoming & responsive. Town is a 20 minute drive. Cabins are spotless. Hall’s Lake is beautiful. Great beach area with lots of things for adults & children to do. You can walk for miles enjoying nature. All kinds of wild birds, bunnies, deer, etc. And at the end of the day, get the campfire going & look at the sky, stars, moon and lake in solitude. Love this place. Already booked for next year.

Great spot! Scenic, relaxed atmosphere, a playground for kids, the venue for the wedding we were there for was surprisingly nice. Overall had a great time!

This is an excellent place for large groups and families. The play structure in the middle of the property allowed the adults to relax and hang out while still keeping an eye on the kiddos playing, and the games room was a godsend on a rainy day. We had a wonderful time, and will certainly be back!

Owner is very friendly and caters to ATV riders and snowmobilers. Offered pressure washer so we could clean off our machines at the end of the ride. No problem riding through the resort as long as we drove slow and were responsible. Offered tools and other things to help us out. Perfect place to go with a group of friends ATVing. We rented the cottage facing the lake, it was nice and private. We had a great time, highly recommend. Friendly owner and maintenance staff.

This is a beautiful resort to hold a wedding. Lots of cabins around a Central park area. Beautiful banquet Hall for the festivities. Nice beach to get married on. So great to be able too spend the whole weekend. The employees were very helpful and always attended to our needs. Unfortunately, the owner needs a few lessons on social skills, but if you have a thick skin, I would recommend it.

Great place. Very relaxing. Individual cabins. No worries about distance. Watched the cleaner take a good 2 - 2.5 hours cleaning for the next guests. They take the coof seriously. My second summer trip here, I noticed all new doors, windows, and a lot of that expanding foam. This year, with all the upgrades, the split pump AC (2 story cabins have 2!) will now freeze meat (almost) in the cabin. No noisy window shakers! My lungs suk. So I appreciate cool clean dry AC air. Rob (owner) bops around on his golf cart, and if you don't see him you have his cell #, if you need him. BBQ, propane, pots, pans, dishes, utensils, all provided. Kid friendly. Oh ya, and an aw-sum sandy beach! See you again next year Rob.

The resort is beautiful and the beach is so nice.
But the owner is not, he ruined our stay with his micromanagement, he is very rude and he lives in the same place as well, after all of us checked-in he came to us several times just to give instructions either to switch off the floodlight, attend the firepit or to say that there is no need to use our mosquitoes trapper or to ask us to go inside the cottages and sleep after 11 PM because he could hear us whispering when he go outside his place.
On top of that, he informed us that visitors are not allowed during the day in which we could not understand.
I believe this guy needs some communication skills and to learn how to deal with his guests.
We were a group of 11 families and for sure none of us would book this place again.

Just returning home from our 2nd annual stay at Sandy Lane. We visited with our daughter and 2 grandchildren. This resort is an absolute favorite for the kids. If they weren't in the water, they were on the playground. Kids need other kids and there are always so many to play with.
Cabins were very clean and comfortable and fully equipped. Love that all linens are provided too. Less laundry for home! The owners, Rob and Janette were exceptionally attentive to anything we needed. Thanks again for a great stay Rob!

Cabins are super cozy, all amenities included. Walk out your front door and you are right at the lake. Super amazing place to go with the family. We are lifers for sure.

Halls Lake is clear and warm to swim in with beautiful beach area at resort. We enjoyed our relaxing stay. Thanks to Rob, Jeanette and staff.

We go to these cottages every year and enjoy surroundings and amenities very much. However, this year we felt that some work was done to the cottages and baseboard heaters were removed. As a result it was very cold in some rooms of the house where fan heat couldn’t reach. There are logs for the fireplace but still it felt very cold at times, especially when the temperature drops at nighttime.

This is definitely not the place to be if you’re looking for a quiet get away without kids. The cabins are close enough to hear your neighbours conversations. On top of that, you’ll hear children screaming from the playground directly across from the cabin. This was the only place available the week we wanted to go. Camp fires are only permitted after 7pm. If you’re looking for a quiet romantic get away, do not stay here.

We went up with the family prior to provincial lock downs. It was an amazing get away. The kids love the fact that there was a toboggan run and a skating rink. The cabin was clean (as always) and the personal hot tub was just the relaxation we needed during these unprecedented times.
Can’t wait to go back in the summer!

The cottages are lovely, nice and clean and cozy, high ceilings and well-maintained fireplaces. The hot tub was a major plus and the owners are so helpful and nice, they made our trip a delight. Will definitely be coming back!

This was our families 4th stay at Sandy Lane and certainly wont be our last. This was our first time visiting in the winter and we were blown away with the things to do. From our deck hot tub to the skating and tobogganing onsite my kids were thrilled and enjoyed every minute. As usual our cottage was clean and rustic. We didn't have any issues at all but felt completely confident that if any issue did arise it would have been addressed immediately as the owners are always available. We will definitely be adding a winter trip to Sandy Lane along with our yearly summer visit. Thanks again for all your hard work to keep this place perfect for our family getaway.

Great resort! Well taken care of by the resort owners and staff. Accommodations were excellent and the hot tub was a bonus! Lots to see and do in and around the resort including a skating rink! Perfect getaway and an easy drive from Toronto.

We booked last minute and Rob was an amazing Host. Everything you need is on site the cabins are great and even though the tobogganing is for the kids we had a blast. We will definitely be back real soon.

Just spent an amazing 3 nights here with my family! They provide firewood for the firepit and propane for BBQ. There is sanitizer available for paddles and water equipment. The staff are friendly and come around often to chat and make sure everything is going well. The cottage was clean and AC worked great. I would be happy to come back again

Fabulous cottage resort. Everything you need in these clean, spacious cabins. Great playground, lots of watercraft, and the prettiest, sandy Hall's Lake. You're going to love it here!

I did end up liking this place in hindsight however there were some issues I had during my stay. Starting cabins that we paid for, they need some serious refurnishing (shifting tiles, creaking stairs, a lack of wall outlets in the appropriate places). Other amenities including lighters weren't provided for campfires, when requested we got one that didn't have any lighter fluid left. WiFi was the most inconsistent, don't expect to watch Netflix or do any browsing until 2am when most patrons are asleep. Compared to most resort areas it is relatively cheap but the owner was very nice to us, even offering to help start the fires, and the beach is beautiful and fun to swim in. If you're staying a couple days I recommend you give this place a chance but depending on how much you spend and how long you stay, your experience may vary.

Very nice had great water stuff and ummmmmmmmm it deserves 1,000 stars but the beds are very uncomfortable and small it could only fit two people. Both my mom and my brother fell of the bed because it was so small.
