The food wasn’t all the great. Not complete garbage but definitely not the best ramen place at that price point in the city. Service was alright. However, there was a combo that was quite cheap. I didn’t order it myself but the combo was definitely worth it’s price of 12 dollars. (Kinda regret getting the ramen instead of that combo)

Sansotei Ramen, located on Young Street in downtown Toronto near Wellesley subway station, is a hidden gem that ramen enthusiasts cannot afford to miss. The location is conveniently within a 5-10 minute walk from the subway station, making it easily accessible for locals and visitors alike.

During my visit, I had the pleasure of indulging in their delightful Tomato Ramen. This unique creation combines the rich flavours of chashu (pork), Hokkaido scallop, egg, tomato, and shiitake mushrooms, resulting in a bowl of pure culinary bliss. The combination of ingredients worked harmoniously, creating a savory and satisfying experience that left me craving for more. Paired with the ramen, I also enjoyed their flavourful Gyoza, adding an extra layer of deliciousness to the meal.

If you're in search of a unique and delicious ramen experience, I highly recommend trying the Tomato Ramen at Sansotei Ramen. With its convenient location, friendly atmosphere, and unforgettable flavours, this restaurant is a must-visit for ramen enthusiasts and food lovers alike. Treat yourself to a bowl of their incredible tomato ramen—you won't be disappointed!

Very quick service, friendly staff, and super accommodating.

The Tonkotsu ramen was a great size with a choice of thin or thick noodles and the meat was especially tasty and sweet. And if you like it spicy, very easy to ask for toppings that you can add to taste.

We had gone later in the evening where there was not lot's of people which made it a nice cozy quick meal.

Had the black tonkatsu ramen which was super flavourful. The servers were very nice and quick, and the atmosphere was quiet and chill.

Sansotei makes a great Tonkotsu garlic ramen. The pork cha shu actually has a slight bacon flavour which is incredible. Usually not a long wait to sit since most people devour their gyoza and soup and leave.

I asked for less noodles. They refused. I don't understand why it's so hard to put less. I don't like to eat too much of them and it's too hard to get all the broth from under a big pile of noodles. What is going on in their kitchen if it's impossible to put less noodles? Are their noodles less expensive than water, so they can't add more broth?

I've been in town twice in the last few years and both times I've made a point of stopping here for dinner.

The place is smaller and there is generally a line waiting outside but it moves quick and they get you to the table pretty quickly. The food's served fast and hot and it's very good.

The staff are quite nice in helping with suggestions from the menu, and the place is super clean.

I strongly encourage anyone to stop by and try this at least once if you're in the area and have the staff make some suggestions if you've never had this before.

Tastes pretty good. Recommend tonkotsu black or spicy tantan depending on what you're craving. Might have to wait a bit during lunch or dinner times, especially on weekends.

Consistently great ramen, with an amazing broth, probably the best I've liked. If they did seasoned egg (like Kinton), it would be my only place for ramen.

Excellent food with great service. The egg is well marinated, and the noodle is very flavourful. My kid love the Gyoza, it’s a little plain for me. We will definitely come back! Highly recommended

Way too oily and salty, noodles are hardly cooked through. $16 A rip off for something that taste like instant noodle.

It would be really nice to have a vegan friendly ramen, although there are vegetarian options.

**3.5

My experience here was good but not great. I will only comment on the food as we got it to go which may have affected the quality.

Mazeman ($14) : I was excited to see this on the menu as the other ramen places I’ve been to typically only serve a tomato-based soup. This dish is dry i.e. Does not come with broth which I found to be a bit of a downfall. It affected the texture of the noodles and it became somewhat congealed when I sat down to eat. The noodles were good but I didn’t feel it was enough to compensate broth that might’ve improved the flavour and consistency. On a more positive note, the eggplant was beautifully seasoned: a perfect mix of garlic and salt. The sweet corn was a nice relief, a good palate refresher and dish brightener. The added bits of saffron to top were a nice touch.

The tan tan noodles ($16) were received well! The broth was milky with a higher viscosity than your typical ramen broth. It had great depth of flavour.

The chicken wings ($8) weren’t the best. They were cooked well, however the seasonings didn’t shine through. It wasn’t a great pairing with the ramen and lessened the associated bliss with the tan tan.

Even though I got take out, I found the female waitress was kind and congenial.

It’s a small place; it’s minimalist but with pops of artistic flair (wood carvings and peach watercolours provide needed pops of colour). It’s location on the street is discreet; it’s a hole in the wall type vibe which are usually some of the best restaurants in Toronto.

I love their ramen so much! The broth is delicious and noodles is perfect! I ordered spicy tan tan that day but it wasnt that spicy thankfully! I’ll always come back to this franchise because their service is usually quick and friendly.

The waitresses were super attentive, making sure we have everything we need.
Tried the tomato ramen, definitely a must try and I would get it again

I visited with 3 friends and I ordered the spicy dandan noodles. It was neither spicy nor spicy at all, and it did not have any representative tantan flavors such as green onion oil, meat, peanuts, etc. The quality was very poor compared to the price.
I was eating fast, so my friends had almost all of the ramen left, and I had half eaten. After hearing the answer, I felt disrespectful to the staff for trying to touch the bowl first and then take it away.
Looking at the amount of my friends and the amount of my bowl, anyone could tell that I didn't eat it all, but I was surprised that they suddenly came to the table and rushed to clean it up. It's a place I'll never go back to, and I've had quite a few ramen downtown and it was the worst.

The restaurant is a cozy intimate space with a few tables. The service is friendly and quick. The ramen itself is delicious, the ingredients are well thought out and perfectly cooked.

I would love to know when things got so bad thay are passing off the thinnest slicest of pork that RIP TO SHREDS WHILE PICKING IT UP. I would avoid coming here until they stop acting like they are the only ones experiencing inflation…

After speaking to management about this they advised me that they cha shu is not prepared on site and that they get it from a manufacturer…

I AM SPEECHLESS.
