Simran, our server was wonderful. We have been coming to Bhavan for 16 years now and it tastes as though you are in the south of India! Delicious vegetarian food that is good for the whole family.

We were waited on by Swarna. My kid liked her a lot and she was interactive and helped us have a good dinner time

One of the best Indian food place, have been here multiple times almost all Sundays but noticed that the hygiene has been compromised recently. The best behaviour of staff and authentic taste of Indian food is a plus.

Awesomely served breakfast! The vibe of this restaurant is the same as mumbai branch. Loved uncle working there. Staff is polite and humble. Everything tastes good specifically the mini tiffin. Good to serve two people with a filter coffee. From medhu vada to idli and the complimentary soup in the beginning. Perfect breakfast place

Food took so long to make, had too much oil and the yougurt rice took longer to make and was so bad. After eating you’ll feel sick and then throw up

One of the best dosas you will have. And the best part is the quality is maintained every time.

First time visiting. Great food, masala dosa was formidable. Green and Red chutney was my favourite. Sambar could be a little thicker.

Good place for South Indian meals … I totally understand the long wait time at this place. To avoid long wait times, please book a seat in advance or else be prepared to wait for an hour. The food is worth the wait and is authentic. My kid is a big fan of their dosas and has tasted all flavours and is eager to go more. I love their Thalis and obviously the good nap after the meal. A good place for family gathering!

There is a 15 mins of wait time during peak hours. They note down the phone number and gave u call. I really appreciate the service and guys working there. Atmosphere is crowded but it is expected. Food was little bit of disappointment compared to the Chennai Saravana Bhavan branch. Onion rava masala dosa and sambar was good, bjt the chutneys are not that good. Filter coffee is always good. Big disappointment was Adai Avial which wasn’t as expected. Both Adai and Avial doesn’t have the authenticity lacking something. We are happy with everything, except for the food.

Lots of fruit flies. They need to work on hygiene. Chutney and Sambar served with Idly were not tasty (sort of burnt flavor) not at all how you would expect in South Indian food, totally disappointed and Idlies were hard. Curry served in the thali were spicy. They should really provide us the option to choose the spice level.

Best place for South Indian cuisine. Love the filter coffee. The mini idlis for kids are really good too.

Omg. This place has the best Indian vegetarian food at fabulous prices. The staff are beyond polite and helpful and kind. Spotless place too. Very busy after 8pm and well attended by the Indian community and I always see that as proof it's good.

The taste is good no issues with them regarding the taste and quality. But the quantity is very less for the take out. Today we bought meals takeout. The quantity of sides that they provide us for the rice is not reasonable at all! They are giving that much quantity of rice and giving sambhar and other sides in 1-2 Oz container. That won't be enough even for a person to eat. So if you are going to buy meals takeout ask them for extra cups of sides that you want. If they are charging extra for them just open the package and ask them if this one cup will enough for 1 person.

Food is really good. The place is also well maintained and is clean. The only flaw are the utensils which are so old that all steel utensils including cutleries are full of scratches which looks really unpleasant. The prices are reasonable.

This place is a disgrace to the original Saravana Bhavan in Tamilnadu. Pathetic food quality and taste, mostly stale (reheated), not meant for Tamilnadu people (Dosai lovers), this place is surviving because of people who are unaware of original Tamilnadu foods (dhosaw lovers). Moreover, hygiene is extremely poor, I noticed a server dropping a takeaway container lid and she handed the same to a family without even washing. Everything here is bad, except the main supervisor. Better stay away from this place.

Me and my husband has been frequently visiting Saravana Bhavana for last one decade. It is after the pandemic that we felt their standards have gone down drastically. Their quality of food is not the same. They keep the customers waiting even when the tables are empty. It happened with us. When we confronted we were given a table in 5 minutes.
But what repulsed us the most was seeing a cockroach crawling up the wall against our table. It was really hard to intake the the food. If a cockroach can be in the dining area, God knows what goes in the kitchen. Will have to find another place for south Indian food

It was delicious and fresh. Will surely visit again n recommend anyone who likes South Indian food.

The service is not good. I ordered one ghee dosa and 3 masala dosa and one medu vada. And what happen they delivered every items in different times in tables. But the taste of food is good. Only problem for the service.

We went there today in evening and their food was really good but they really need to work on their service department because while we were there i asked for the tea two times but for some reason never got it so just for this reason im giving them 2 stars and i think just for this reason we might avoid this restaurant in future.

The forty minute wait time was worth it. Had a craving for thali and satisfied to the fullest. Everything was fresh, prepared well and tasted delicious. Definitely one if the top vegetarian restaurants in the GTA.

I visited first here. Food is awesome! Especially Pongal. I highly recommend that try pongal atleast once here it's very very tempting and yummy. You will connect your memories and yourself with Tamilanadu. Hospitality is very good #SaravanaaBhavan #Pongal ️️️

I seriously wish I could give 0 stars for this restaurant. From giving the wrong order to having the audacity to give stale food, this restaurant has gone way too far.

It’s not the first time this is happening. Disgusting to say that the standard of this restaurant is deteriorating day by day and it’s not what it used to be. Surprisingly they can’t even be reached through phone as they NEVER pick up the call. I am not recommending this restaurant to anyone in near future. They don’t even have the courtesy to accept their mistake and offer an apology.

I’m definitely curious to know whether good food is given only to those who dine in because this is a serious issue that needs to be addressed.

From Chennai to Toronto in a distance of 8500 miles, if any South Indian restaurant could preserve its delicacy, taste, authentic cooking. Coupled with one of the best customer service, the promptness and speed of service is just the best among all Indian restaurants in GTA area. Every dollar spent atleast gives 250 percent satisfaction and value for money.

Worst food ever. The staff is illiterate. They were stingy, didn't want to provide us with appetizer plates. They expected a party of 11 to share plates, that to during a pandemic. Manager was rude and the staff are liars. I recommend you go to Swagurus in Malton. This place was purely pathetic.

This is my frequent visiting Indian restaurant. Their food is very tasty and worth of visiting. You can have a filter coffee which gives the feel of drinking it in India. Dosa and meals are good. There will be a wait time for around 30-45min in weekends but it’s worth of waiting for the tasty food.

As a Tamilnadu hotspot, I was not disappointed in my first ever visit to this restaurant in Mississauga. The taste was similar to TN restaurant. But I wish they play the Tamil songs too. I know most of the customers are not from the south, still it'd be fair enough to show them the Tamil culture rather we hearing their songs which we have a lot of restaurants around.

Poor customer service, horrible food. All about getting customer in and out the door for a quick money. I don't recommended this restaurant to anyone.

Very unprofessional over the phone. I wanted to have idlii Bowl. Guy didn’t want to help me just hung up on me.

I happen to taste South dishes. Most of the dishes are tasty.

Mixed vegetable Udhpam, I could not trace any vegetable except non fried pieces of cabbage in it

I went there yesterday and really enjoyed the rasam vada, mini idly and masalla dosa. Food was served quickly and tasted great. Finished it off with their filtered coffee, which is a must try. While I was eating I noticed a number of people came by to pick up the coffee to go. Clearly it’s a popular item.

One star off because they didn’t have any bottled water. I was told either drink the tap water (which had already been sitting at the table in a jug when I got there) or order a soft drink. I’m not sure if this was just yesterday or if this is their usual policy.

Great choices of dosa and Utthapam available to choose from. Great ambience. Service was quick even on a crowded evening. The masala could be better, currently, it's pretty bland with mashed potatoes but all in all a great choice.

Can u imagine friends cutter mail bites in food? What? Yeah exactly I ordered one mini tiff in from Saravanaa bhawan restaurant and I found nail bites from food. I was so disappointed after this and they didn’t even refund me back I am calling them they are not even picking up the calls. #Yuck#bad#food#quality

Excellent variety of south Indian cuisine of Tamil Nadu in India. Their idlis are soft and fluffy and served with 3 types of chutneys - coconut, tomatoes As well as a Cilantro chutneys and sambhar made from pigeon peas lentils. They also serve many variations of dosa - rice and lentil crepes with different spicy potato fillings and utthapams - rice and lentil pancakes with a variety of toppings.

I really mean it. First of all the order placed online is very often incorrectly sent,

Second the sent food is stale and smells like ". "

Third and the most important, The restaurant staff will not accept their mistake and will try hard to frame the fault on you.

In addition they misbehave like real uneducated and illetrate people.

If you wish to waste your money, then for sure this is your go to place.

This place is amazing for their quality of food. We tried Mysore Masala dosa, Rava Masala Dosa, plain Dosa, Medhu Vada, Uttappam and Idli. You should get same taste of Sambhar during every visit of this place. Everything was up to mark. Also, Their special madras coffee is insane, try it once. They do offer thali throughout the day. Staff is super-friendly, Would highly recommend this place for Authentic South Indian taste!

One of my favourite South Indian / dosa places in Mississauga, second only to the Dosa Home in Malton. Usually relatively easy to get in fast but you can find yourself waiting during lunch and dinner time. Service is fast and waiters knowledgeable about the menu. I usually go for some appetizers and the paper masala dosa. Pav bagi is reall good. The chilli pakora is really, really, REALLY spicy.

The filtered coffee is excellent also.

The restaurant is located in a strip mall with ample parking available.

I had reviewed earlier because the food used to be good but very disappointed now. Ordered the special Thali and many items were served cold. Returned some to reheat but didn't get them in time. The waiter didn't look very apologetic. Not planning to return.

The Authentic taste you get here is second to none. Especially if you go on weekend evening I would highly suggest you to try Chilli Mushroom and Palak paneer. Even if I think of it now it’s mouth watering. The Only downside is that this place doesn’t take reservations and it leads to huge wait time. This is especially a concern in Winter season. If the management do something for it it will be of huge benefit. Once again thank you to all the staff who offered this awesome experience. Will return for sure.

I ate here in August this year and it was a very pleasant experience. The servers were very friendly and attended to all our needs. The food arrived quickly and exceeded my expectations. The kaima idli was especially tasteful and I would definitely recommend it.

Saravanaa Bhavan In Mississauga. South Indian Restaurant with multiple locations all over the world. I spent 5 years studying in South India. And thats why I had opportunity to enjoy delicious and tasty and healthy food. I did not enjoy the food very much. All the food had excessive whole peppers in them. Please check pictures if you want to know how many. Did not enjoy food very much. Average taste. Price is economical. 3 star for dirtynes. I did not see single person there clean or sanitize seating arrangements once guest finished their food. Enough employee but most of them do not know everything.

I was at saravanaa bhavan yesterday. The menu offers wide variery of mouth watering Staters and Tiffins. I had poori and pavbhaaji chat, while my friend tried dahi vada which was really delicious and at the end we both tried coffee which gave the warmth of home made filtered coffee and had gulab jamun for dessert. The service accompany the high quality of cooking. Every one has that pleseant smile on their faces which satisfied us with the serving. Waiters were attentive all through the pleseant dining experience. I recommend to have experience in this restaurant atleast for once.

Been visiting Saravana Bhavan for 18 plus years in India. This center in Mississauga is a hit or a miss. I experienced the authentic taste 2 out of the 5 times I visited in the last 3 months. Just came out from here. The sambar tasted as thick daal. Seemed like a leftover from the morning brunch menu. The server helper Ancy was rude enough to say it is the same usual taste! My last visit here. Very disappointed.

We went to this restaurant and ordered food and immediately they ask for payment before food arrive and very bad attitude of staff and souted on us really bad place to visit!

Tried it for the first time. We were seated right away. Staff were polite. Place was ok. Nice and quiet and clean. Ordered the MINI GHEE IDLY AND SAMBAR BONDA to start with the madras coffee. The coffe was very average. The mini idlys were good and so were the bonda. We got the kara masala dosa and the chili tomato onion uttapam and both were quite tasty. Finished it up with a cup of chai tea which was actually pretty good which made me happy cuz i was disappointed with the coffee. I would visit again and I would recommend. The prices arent bad either. Only thing is if youre a big guy and tend to eat a lot then you may wanna order a few extra items because that happened to me. Ate but was still kinda hungry at the end.

Cheap restaurant with cheap staff.
We are in restaurant by 9: 15pm on Sunday and they gave us table at 9: 35pm.
The first statement by server is WE ARE CLOSING SOON. So Give is your final order.

We ask for coffee as well. They want to serve coffee first before main course come.
Worst thing they do is ask you to pay before they serve the food.as they are CLOSING SOOOOOON.
20 years in my CANADIAN history never seen any restaurant they ask you to pay bill before.
When we appose that their attitute change and start shouting on us.
Totally insulting us.
There are bunch of other South Indian restaurant guys with humble service and better taste.

They already charge us gratuity without serving us food.

I get scare by their behaviour when we refuse to pay before serving the food.

Went here on a Sunday evening, We ordered appetizer as Plaintain Bajji, one Kara masala dosa and a Kaima Idly as main course. We ended our meal with a madras filter coffee which was so good. The food was very delicious and filling! Quick customer service and staffs were very responsive. They also serve one extra sambar and chutney for your dosa as free which is great. The Kaima Idly was really good and even my little one tried it and liked it. Worth the visit and will recommend to all my friends. Only sad thing is they don’t take reservations, we had to wait 20 minutes, however it was worth the wait. Will definitely return

Went for a dinner buffet. Horrible service and no politeness. They said they are closing the kitchen so need to order required dosa and poori. But cleaned up the entire buffet when we were eating. We we're 10 people, none of us tasted the entire food. And they got the cash before we finished our dinner

We tried this place on our way to Montreal as it close to highway. I am speechless. This is one of the authentic place where I feel I still have the flavour of South India. When we went there the person taking waiting said I have to wait for 1 hour. Even though it felt sour on me but taking the people in waiting I can realize why it is that much crowded. The taste speaks than everything. The staff were polite and humble and helped us know all the dishes as one of our guest have nuts allergy. Koodos to the staff for this exceptional hospitality.

Disappointed!

Presence across world and known for its flavour and taste, the one here in Toronto truly and sadly disappoints you!

Food - not great. Dosas (we ordered 5 different) were soggy and tasteless. Sambhar or rasam were not great either. Even the pans were too sweet and leafs tasted bitter. Either something was wrong that day and the quality has really gone down!

Ambiance - pretty normal and nothing great.

Seats - not very comfortable or cosy but clumsy

Service - fast but you need to really follow up for extras you order - be it water/sambar or chutney!

Overall - bad experience and I am never going back!

Recommended - Strongly No! Better explore other nearby options.

We were in for the breakfast buffet. Was certainly excited to see the delightful spread of south Indian breakfast items. All items on the spread were on par with the taste of HSB Chennai (in fact better for some). Was not disappointed.

Best authentic South Indian food and fast service. The staff are great. Love the food. Anyone looking for South Indian food, this is the best restaurant to go.

Excellent food and outstanding customer service. This place is always busy, which tells you how good the food is here.
My favorite is the mix veg parotta.
