Sassafras is a look out point, with a nice walking trail starting from Precise ParkLink via Caleb's trail or Ravine Road trail. Ravine Road Trail is picturesque, serene and beautiful.
Parking at Precise ParkLink is 3 dollars an hour.

Nice, easy walk along a trail. Thru the woods, along a shaded ravine. Lookout point has gorgeous views. Staring point is in a neighbourhood. Find a parking spot on the street. Cross a big wide open field & find the trail. Enjoy!

Place is beautiful and quiet, but is there actually no one in charge of cleaning the area? Like, wipe those LSD thing away? They have legitly been there already like 5 years ago, come on. So disturbing.

Love this spot! Right behind Mac, there's a small hidden path at the lookout point, take it and go down and enjoy the view!

Beautiful view with a group of seven feel in Autumn. Fairly easy walk with a little bit of up and down.

Worth the hike to Sassafras Point Lookout. It was the end of March so Sassafras trail was fairly muddy-nothing unexpected for this time of year. The trail can be reached from other trails, and all part of the Royal Botanical Gardens. The RBG does a great job with all the trails and gardens! Check them out!
What I liked: The trail was fun because it went up and down hills and around a bunch of bends. It wasn't boring. When you get closer to the lookout, you can see the water off to the sides. There were parts of the trail where birdsong filled the air, it was quite lovely. I mostly heard red-winged blackbirds. I saw some swans and Canada geese swimming in the water.
The trail wasn't too long so if you don't have a lot of time, you can access it from Caleb's Trail and walk it in under an hour. I stopped for some photos so I took 1.5 hours. Enjoy!

Lovely views and often quiet. Sadly some people don't care for the area well, but the main trails are maintained nicely. I recommend the sunset off the lookout, breathtaking.

Beautiful views of Cootes Paradise. Plenty of spots that are hidden from the trail; feels somewhat like your own private lookout.

Great place for a walk. Lots of people skating on the ice but suitable self distancing for the times.
