We called Sata Express today and our phone conversation with the staff was extremely pleasant and smooth!
Our phone call was answered right away with a positive approach, our conversation was probably a total of 20 minutes.
And we had so many questions regarding our future flight from Toronto to Sao Miguel.
The employee was very patient. She clarified all our questions regarding Covid, our luggage allowance, arrival time at the airport, our dog travels etc. She was kind, friendly, and extremely professional. She was very funny too! Before calling I was worried since I had read the reviews. Now, Have no fear guys, Sata express Toronto has a great customer service and is very efficient to answer for all your travel needs.

This airline is the worst ever Iv never used them before to go to Portugal my first time booking with them since the this Covid had started they aren’t refunding my tickets well I’ll be suing them that’s for sure it’s 2022 who’s going any where right now we’re all getting back to normal slowly ppl lost jobs etc I booked my ticket from 2019 wow I’ll never will book with them again!

Avoid flying with SATA/Azores Airlines at all costs, very unprofessional, horrible inflight service, no refunds and they always come up with additional costs. They cancelled our trip in 2020 and gave us vouchers, when we used the vouchers to rebook for 2021, they charged us an extra $95 per person. They cancelled our flight in 2021 and gave us vouchers again because they don't offer a refund, so now that we are looking to rebook for August of 2022, they are charging an extra $300 per person for the same time we were going the last 2 years. Fly TAP or any other Airline but avoid SATA/Azores Airlines.

The experience with Sata has been a nightmare. They canceled flights twice, will not offer refunds and charges more each time we try to rebook with our vouchers. Horrible airline, do not book with them.

If I could give sata 0 stars I would. In 30 years of travel, I've never recieved such poor customer service. The litany of abuses Is to numerous to list here, but it includes loosing my families baggage with zero explanations and no assistance in the recovery on them, and poor logistical support in lisbon causing us to miss our flight. Their flippant attitude and lack of communication is abhorrent. Fly TAP, fly air transat, fly air Canada but under no circumstances should you ever fly sata. If you do, you are seriously taking your chanses.

Just would like to say Thank you to Patricia for her help in getting my refund from Sata. She called me on a Monday told me it could take up to two weeks, on that same week on the Friday it was back on my credit card. Great service and very friendly. To bad and sad, when I was dealing with Sata in Portugal it was going nowhere fast, started my refund request with them back in April.

I've had to call the Toronto office a few times now to help me reschedule flights. They respond extremely quickly, and helpful and professional!
Not sure why they get such a bad rap.

This airline had a planned strike in August 2017 (I understand they have many strikes due to poor management). So the airline calls me and asks if we can move our travel date 3 days earlier to avoid the strike. We agree after they say they will be able to compensate us for additional travel costs due to this. One year later and after several emails it has been impossible to get a response from anyone.

Such a shame this awful airline has a monopoly over the Azore islands (if you’re flying from US)

This is the worst airline in the world. We have been trying to get back to Canada since Friday morning. It is now Sunday. No communication. Just lies.

Avoid this airline at all costs- even if this means paying more and having a layover in the mainland and using a different airline to reach the Azores. Even with the layover, there is a high possibility it will be a shorter trip than flying direct. They are notoriously famous for being late- and have the attitude that they don’t care and there is nothing you can do about it. There is no customer service department, only bookings. If you have an issue- they won’t even pretend to care.
They tried rebranding to Azores Airlines with brand new planes. However, they charter old Spanish airplanes instead of their own when flying out of Toronto.
If you pay for a seat reservation, there is a fair possibility that you won’t get it, and what’s worse, getting a refund for the reserved seat requires jumping through many hoops to the point you just give up.
They control the airports in the Azores and is the only reason they have been getting away with this type of service and reputation for as long as they have. Fly to Lisbon, and then take TAP to the islands. Less headaches, and at times faster.

Horrible company, I lost my flight because there was a delay with another airline, I paid very expensive ticket on first class and they put me next day in another flight with connection in USA, in economic class, they never informed me I need a Visa to pass by USA airport, they just let me get into the plane like that. I was held in immigration USA 1 hr like a criminal being asked me so many questions! Very stressful moments and I almost lost the other plane because of that, I paid so much money for nothing, don't care about the passengers, don't keep them informed and on top of that they even lost my luggage so be aware everyone don't travel with SATA
