I always appreciate good food and service. This place delivers on both. We randomly stumbled upon Satay Sate today and thoroughly enjoyed the food. My fiancé and I experienced a lot of new flavours here which did not disappoint at all. We tried the chicken sate skewers, chicken nasi goreng, egg balado and beef short ribs. Recommend all of them. Our server, David was so kind, friendly and courteous. P.s The restaurant also validates parking. Another plus point.
This place is absolutely amazing! The food is so delicious! David our server was super friendly, prompt, and was able to accommodate all our requests. The decor is very clean and modern. I can't believe people don't know about this place! Would give 6 stars if I could. Will definitely be coming back here again! Thank You Satay Sate!
Very clean, food is delicious, fresh and price wise affordable and comparable to other restaurants. Very friendly people 100% customer service. Very pleasant atmosphere.
We ordered a mix of vegetarian and non vegetarian dishes. The Nasi goreng was really good, both chicken and the tofu version. Chicken skewers and drinks were great too. Good spot for some genuine Indonesian food.
The experience was unfortunately not as expected from a nice trendy looking restaurant. Ended up with dirty cutlery, cold food, and the food was tasteless. Not worth it in my opinion.
Had their fried chicken entre, their coconut drink and their banana fritters. This is my second time going here. The food is really good. Its different but familiar! I would definitely recomend this place if you wanna try 100% halal indonesian food. The owner is wonderful person! For the 3 items, the price was definitely reasonable.
Good tasting food and a good amount of variety. Tried the chicken skewers which were great, the chicken fried rice and the fried chicken which were both good. The beef randang was alright.
Flavoursome, soulful food. We had the chicken curry, fried chicken and beef skewers with coconut rice. Taste was top notch + lady servicing us lovely. Happy with experience
First time with Indonesian food. Somewhat differentiated with Malaysian and Thai cuisine. It is nice indeed. Being used to Hong Kong Cantonese eating, Beef Randeng is soft but rough to my taste. Curry sauce flavor takes all. Might it be over stewed with the big meat chunk while not much fat nor tendon. May take chances to try out its remaining recipes and other establishment as well later. Get a ticket for 2 hrs sponsored parking in the building. A nice environment with many eateries round the corner.late Dec, update rating. Very late Feb, 2022. Update photo. Early Mar. The mug serving water drink is intriguing for eateries. It has ear.
Brought my parents here for their birthday. Customer service was great! Food was flavourful. If you’re someone who enjoys spicy food, this is not the place for you. They do have hot sauce (sambal) to help with spicing up the food. However most of their food has peanut sauce which gives it a sweet taste.
Some may not notice, the sign that says “free parking for restaurant customers” so make sure to get your parking ticket validated.
Overall I rate the food 8/10. Customer service 10/10.
Came here for dinner tonight and was very pleased we did. Food was fresh and extremely tasty. We shared the delicious Satay skewers of chicken and a wonderful dish of Indonesian noodles along with a few other dishes. It was a terrific dinner and we will certainly be back.
Super delicious! Ordered the chicken satay skewers - came with salad and rice. The peanut sauce was amazing. Would come back if I’m ever in the area again. Staff were nice and the restaurant was clean. Highly recommend this place
Table service is very poor.need improvement! First of all customer takes table.serve them dishes.spoon and fork and paper napkins then glasses and water jug.when they run restaurante they should know basic things. I wish they will improve.when customer leaves wish them and say thanks for visiting their restaurante! Ask customer how they like food and service! It makes lot of difference in business! When customer is enjoying food.casually ask them if they need water or anything!
Food is delicious. Service is great. Atmosphere is beautiful. We got the indonesian fried rice and the beef satay which were delicious. The Mango Soda was so good too. We got both there desserts which were also very delicious.
I am no expert on Indonesian food but wow the food had tons of flavour! Mie Jawa had a subtle coconutish sweetness balanced with garlic and crunchy cabbage, tender chicken, perfectly cooked fried egg and savoury noodles. They also make a killer house made hot sauce with fresh ginger, beats any generic sriracha style sauce.
As an Indonesian who loves authentic food that reminds me of home, I can say that the food here is legit. Ayam goreng kremes hits home for me. Satay Satay is a bit far from where I live, but I would love to come back and try their other dishes.
This is a great weekend restaurant with friends or family. The staff is exceptional and extremely nice, the food was so good I had to go no utensil two handed. I highly recommend the coconut rice, beef rendang, and the tiger shrimp. Seriously the BEST Indonesian food I have had in the GTA region
The peanut sauce flavours were too subdued. Couldn't taste any peanut.
The skewers of meat had lots of tendon or cartilage or something chewy.
The entree I had, beef rendeng, wasn't very saucy and the meat had no texture. It easily broke apart. Maybe it was just overcooked or maybe they used chemical tenderizers.
The drinks were good, specifically the tea and the mango soda. Don't remember the names.
Prices were high but expected given the current circumstances (high inflation, war in Ukraine, covid)
Very good foods, very nice people and good service. Must try the beef and chicken satay, also beef rendang. And their traditional hot drink cucurmin & ginger.
First time we dined in it was fantastic. We mainly go for the beef rendang. However for our anniversary we got take out for a large order. When we picked up the order we were almost home after 10 mins and that's when the restaurant called to let us know they forgot one of our orders.this caused is to go back and forth and waste an extra 20 mins and the food went super cold by the time we got home which ruined the momentum. Second, the beef rendang didn't taste like beef rendang at all. There was no flavour inside the meat, super bland taste even the curry. I'm not sure if they even have us the correct fish or if it was just a bad batch? We got a lot of rice so we could all enjoy that curry but now the rice went to waste top as no one touched the rendang.
Amazing authentic Indonesian Food. I have tried everything on the menu so far and I can tell you with confidence, it's the best Indonesian restaurant I have experienced in the GTA. It's worth a try! The pricing is very reasonable too.
The beef rendang wqs the most disappointing. The portion size is very small and the beef is very low quality as it was very dry. It was only "soft" because it was cooked for a long time but the beef itself is not a nice cut. As such, it lacks beef flavour since it was way too lean. The chicken satay was also not juicy. If it wasn't coated in sauce it would be inedible. Overall, all dishes were rather small for the price even though I ordered sharing dishes. They were the size of food court takeout except half the plate was pickled salad so it's even less food than it appears. Flavour wise, everything could use more of a kick. Even dishes that are supposed to be spicy were not even mild. I have had real Indonesian food from Indonesia before and this is more like "Americanized Indonesian food". I'm really confused by the good reviews - I think it may be because there's not many options in this area so it is accepted.
We were very excited to try this place but when we entered the restaurant and they were checking our covid vaccine, the staff was not wearing a mask. When we asked if he should wear a mask, he said ‘it’s fine’. We immediately left and was super disappointed about the irony of him checking covid vaccines and him not following the covid mask protocols.
Just had a wonderful experience here! The food was great, incredibly filling, lovely owner and kind server! I was searching for real Indonesian food and I may have found my go to place! The portions are big and very filling! We had a hearty meal and enjoyed our time. The decor was lovely and it’s definitely an experience I’d want to have again. I look forward to bringing my family here to enjoy the lovely food and ambiance. Not pictured: cendol which was great!
Everything was delicious! I've been to Indonesia before and can say this was 100% authentic. Price is great (not as great as Indonesian but I can dream) and food portions are great. Don't hesitate, come eat here! In pictures: Nasi Goreng, Beef Rendang, and Telue Balado.
Went here for the 1st time service was great. But highly disappointed in the beef satay it was chewy and had tendons in it which made it hard to eat. The fried chicken was the best dish by far.and second to it would be the beef curry dish.upgraded to coconut rice.the portion sizes were still pretty small considering we spent $60.00 almost on food and weren't left satisfied. The space is quite cute and there is parking in the building attached for free.but that will most likely change within the coming months
Affordable. Friendly atmosphere. Clean. Good service. Both chicken and beef sateys came a bit salt less. Not sure this is how they cook or it was near closing time. Otherwise everything was delicious.
