I’ve made a mortgage inquiry with an advisor and a day to day banking with a teller and in both cases I was told wrong information and I had to follow up multiple times to fix issues that should have been done correctly from the outset. Very poor experience and trained employees

Ms. Erfaneh is one of the best Financial Advisor of this bank, she is very kind and with patience.she explained to us the complete information about opening an account and their benefits, and made me and my husband open an account in this bank.

The worst Scotiabank branch with no doubt. I don't recommend this branch to anyone. The management is awful. They break their own rules. I went to this branch to deposit my money with all the necessary documents but they refused to do it and when I asked for the reason, they simply said "We don't feel comfortable". They also insulted me about the money that I pulled out from my own account at their branch. Monica is the manager and she doesn't care about the customers at all. There are employees reporting to her who take advantage of the situation and act so rude when they want to respond the customers. There is also one Iranian lady working under Monica and she differentiates between the bank's customers. She is double rude to Iranian customers. Next time, I will definitely drive 40 km to Aurora to visit my home branch rather than going to this branch and waste my half day.

Very polite but some of the tellers don’t have enough knowledge to answer the simple questions.

Would not recommend going here. Horrible customer service and extremely rude management. Would rather drive 40mins to use another branch.

This is by far the worst bank I have ever experienced. To my recollection in the last year i've dealt with 4 of the people there each one more dim than the next (financial advisors: Eby, svetlana, Jackie and the branch manager Monica). The information they pulled up and showed me on their computer was filled with holes and was incredibly inaccurate. They somehow have information from 2015 when i (supposedly) cosigned for a credit card with my Mother, but cant pull up my transaction history for more than 6 months. They had no clue or record as to what day I opened my own ultimate pkg bank acct or applied for my own secured credit card. Most if not all major banks have a waived/rebated fee card when you have an ultimate/all-inclusive/premium acct but I was only offered the no-fee (worst/least amount) cash back cards even though i was eligible for the better card (with fee waived) and they could not find any documentation to explain why they may have offered me the worst card possible besides playing dumb and saying "i dont know" repeatedly (cough cough.good job Monica.cough cough). Monica repeatedly speculated and tried to convince me that perhaps I signed up for the secured credit card before I had the ultimate pkg or before they offered to waive fee promo for the mid-level card, which is highly improbable based on when I started banking with them REGULARLY around 2019 (with the ultimate pkg) and due to the fact that they had no records of me starting the acct or the start-date of the waived fee eligibility/promo (hence.plausible deniability when you cant keep accurate records or "lose" them). They couldn't even pull up a record as to what day I applied for the secured credit card to back check their speculations. The day i was about to go through the credit card application (for non-secured card), the financial advisor (jackie) implied that there was a chance I would not qualify for any sort of credit limit based on the income i told her, and she adamantly explained that the credit card was based on net income for all self-employed people, to which Monica backed her up and said that was indeed the case, and would be the case for all the major banks. So aside from the garbage record keeping abilities, they intentionally provide misinformation about other banks to dissuade customers from switching and do not provide comparable service. Other banks were just as confused as I was that scotiabank is asking for net income instead of gross as I would be using a credit card to pay for business expenses which are a component of gross income, not net.note for branch manager and staff: If you dont 100% know an answer STOP providing misinformation about OTHER banks. If you are asked questions about another bank, it's ok then to say "i dont know". If you are being asked questions about YOUR bank resources, records, procedures, protocols etc.those are things you should know. If you dont accept that burden of proof you will lose customers

now just a quick comment about the service in general. Svetlana, Monica and to some extent Jackie showed their true colors when it comes to dealing with customers. They are quick to temper and do not respond well to being asked logical and valid questions and their service was incredibly dismissive rather than providing any tangible assistance (as far as my banking is concerned)

eager to take my business else where

p.s. I dont have anything negative to say about Eby because she actually was quite helpful and knowledgeable. I hope Jackie finds somewhere better to work because she seemed to have.potential. Although she does need to get more knowledgeable about other banks and the credit card application process in general to better assist individual needs (people are not cookies to cut) and to avoid teaming up with a manager that will just say that "all of the 5 major banks will ask for net income not gross"

p.p. S the people at TD could hardly believe I got service like that from a scotiabank just a block away but they were certainly happy to get me as a customer

Friendly folks who have no idea what they are doing. Forced to deal with them due to an estate matter and the amount of wasted time was unbelievable.

This used to be the most friendly and efficient branch! Now there’s nobody I recognize. Last week I noticed $75 was missing from my account. Called Scotiabank and they denied it was their issue. Other parties were PayPal (dealt with for 20 years) and Uber who never made a mistake ever. I knew it was Scotiabank but they never informed me.

Sure enough, no sooner did I get my money back when BAM! It happens again, this time with $50. I call the branch and get a voicemail recording saying a “system problem” is duplicating transactions and they’ll return my cash by Friday April 16th. My account was almost empty for the week of my son’s birthday, in fact I was obliged to take an online loan at 256% interest to cover the amounts they took from my account wrongfully.

It was a priority for Scotia to email me about a new offer but not to notify me my money might not be safe in my account with them. I contacted them online on Facebook Messenger to ask if police had been notified and they avoided the question. They just kept saying they’re doing their best to fix the issue. Really? It takes their IT department 2 weeks to fix this system issue? I feel like it’s an inside job, no IT department worth its salt would take that long. And no honest company would fail to inform their clients DIRECTLY of an issue like this. Leaving a voicemail on their branch answering machine at best is lame AF, at worst it’s a sign of incompetent management. So much for special service during Covid!

Anyone including the CRA can get hacked but their response was going to the media so all their clients were aware. What does Scotiabank do? They leave a voicemail that only 2% of their clients will probably ever hear. Disgraceful! If they weren’t sponsoring the Leafs I would have closed my accounts long ago!

This 5 star is for Carol. I strongly recommend him if you want to start your business. He is a knowledgeable and supportive advisor.

Ms. Mirna Yaqoob was so patient and so professional, she took the time to answer all my and husband's questions and resolved the issues. I give her 10 stars.

Employees are rude and can’t even help with the most basic requests. All they tell me is to call the customer service number. It that’s the solution, what’s the point of these branches anyways.

I changed my original review: now 1/5 was 5/5

I walked over to this branch on Friday to get a printout of my bank activity as I had suspected some fraudulent charges and needed to talk to somebody about it after getting a printout.the branch can't do anything for you except have you call a toll-free number, which turned out to be more of a game show than it was trying to report fraud on my account.

Regarding this branch I had never been met with such hostility, verbal aggression, harassment, and public shaming anywhere in my life let alone at my bank. Having gone in as a victim of cyber fraud, you would expect a little more compassion for the customer.

Instead of receiving customer service, I was verbally assaulted as I sat on the red couch for two or three minutes putting my papers in order before leaving the premises. The unprofessionalism and lack of tact as I was informed of the couches are not to be sat in by anyone unless they're waiting for an appointment. It was terrible the gentleman who pointed his finger yelling full blast at me with accusations of being a terrible parent all because I was talking to my daughter about some fraudulent charges on the account and this man figured I should be doing so while having a face mask on my face. Is information was incorrect he was to say another staff member who had the nastiest face threatened to call the police on me because I wasn't wearing a mask while talking to my daughter about fraudulent activity on our Scotiabank account.

It's embarrassing for them that they don't even know how to handle the most basic of customer service issues, let alone questioning somebodys ability to parent because he's not hiding behind a mask will talk into a 7-year-old about money they don't have in their account.

First time at this branch & most likely the last time. Staff were meant to inform me that they would hold my bank draft for 5 days. If I had known I would have never deposited at this location. Had to return to ask them email the bank draft to my branch. 1 hr later & still nothing. Either they forgot or Scotiabank uses old technology to send communications.
I have had no problem with other banks. Maybe Scotia should invest more on customer service & technology instead of lining their pockets with money.
Called their branch, they put me on hold then cut me off. Customer Service at it’s Finest!

Most of tellers are good and polite but there is one guy so stupid like vending machine. Why you guys seating in there for 8 hours to speak useless words such as ‘I do not know, you need to meet your financial advisor in your branch! ’ Shiit I spent extra time for that yesterday by that guy’s stupid advice. I think vending machine is better because at least I have no expectations of service or answer. Next time if I am there, I will rather meet his supervisor.

The staff at this branch are always so friendly to customers, they greet and ask you what they can help you with the second you enter the door. The tellers are very efficient and nice, and always go above and beyond to help me with my needs. I’ll always come to this location because of their amazing service!
