This branch is the absolute WORST there is, all the staff members there are rude, no willing to help or assist in any concern /matter, they ignore customers on the lineup while they chat among each other in their own language, the teller today literally refused to help me even when I told her it was urgent, the worst experience with these guys, I literally went to the branch at square one mall with the same concern and they assisted me right away and even apologized on behalf of these incompetent branch, if I could give a zero review I would since more than half of the staff should get fired.

I went there to open an account and I was giving wrong information to open new account there. They told to sign up with the ultimate package, and after doing the requirements to get the bonus I should receive $300.
I did everything and when I asked for my bonus they made different excuse (not provided before) to not give me the money.
Don’t listen to them!

When i was young, I brought birthday money to set up my first bank account at this branch. The teller accused me of theft, lol. I will never forget this interaction.

Horrible customer service, I deposit cheque at teller for $500.00 and was told that no hold will be on it, 3 days after I used my card for shopping and it was declined, called CSR waiting for 1.5 hour, when to the bank didn't get a valid explanation, so I close my account, the teller said they still needed to charge for next month bank fee of $16.95.
DO NOT OPEN ACCOUNT OF THIS BANK, IS THE WORST

Worst customer service ever. I’m not sure what is going on, but head office need to do something about that location. Sad part that even after complaining to the manager about the experience I had, didn’t help. I just can not understand why after all this bad reviews nothing is done. So unprofessional!

Crazy line ups and not enough tellers to attend people. For busy Saturdays they have only 3 slow tellers to help. Seniors and people with kids have to stand in line for a long time for a simple task. Tellers take their sweet time in hope to turn away as many people as possible.

I had ordered cash with head office before going in. I was given day and time to pick it up. When i was there a joker in black shirt denied the service saying never received any order.

Quite a bunch of incompetent staff members. I walked in last week to book an appointment to meet with an advisor and one of the tellers booked me for a week later. I went in the following week only to find that the advisor my appointment was booked with doesn’t work on Saturdays. I’m baffled how an employee is unequipped with the skill of performing a simple task of booking an appointment. Also I’d like to point out that they only have one advisor working the Saturday shift.

That women with long dark curly hair needs to learn customer service skill. My first time go to a Scotia Bank branch in person, and because of her I closed out all my accounts. No one wants to stay with a business whose employees unwilling to help you. I hope she’ll learn a lesson from someone not that nice.

They booked my appointment on Saturday. I went there on time and manager said the person with whom my appointment was does not come in Saturday.
Waste of time, avoid going to this branch if you can.

Would give zero if I could, long processing of even making mortgage prepayment. Come on, this is 2021. Ask to go to home branch to make payment which will take 1 hour drive. There is no convenience for customer service at all with this bank.

A terrible experience with this branch. It's been more than 2 months since I had applied for a credit card and haven't received it yet.
Lack of responses from the financial advisor, despite sending multiple emails. Lack of responsibility as the application was not even looked into until asked for an update. Frustrating!

Just came back from this branch and the teller that dealt with me had a horrible, standoff-ish attitude. I tried to exchange coin rolls for cash and she looked at me as if I was speaking another language. I asked if I could exchange the coins without an account and was told "No". I ended up taking my money to TD Canada Trust down the street and exchanged my coins without a TD account. Small interactions like these will make you lose customers. She is the first teller on the right closest to the wall. Slim, south asian woman.

I had an appointment with Sanjay Kumar to open a chequings account and discussed that was all I needed as he was pushing other service's. When he realized I would not be the one to help meet his quota he quickly wanted to get my appointment over with. I gave Sanjay a cheque to verify my address and said that this was already deposited before so do not cash it. He said don't worry about it and did it anyways. Now my account is frozen and I'm in another country for a month with no access to my funds. I contacted their branch and gave me no resolution for Sanjays mistake. This man should be terminated immiediately

Miss Dinusha was a very helpful Scotiabank mortgage advisor, if I can give her a 10 star review I would! She took the effort and time to make sure all the questions and concerns are understood. Provided excellent service to make sure her co-workers covered her in case I needed extra help according to her availability. Reply back to emails and phones very quickly. I have mixed reviews about the tellers here, there’s a teller there named Nirali and she put a stop payment on my account like I asked her to do but unknowingly, my payment still went through! She looked and spoke incompetently and had a slight disagreeable attitude/sass. I was charged for an NSF fee, I went to the bank for a refund and was told by the branch manager Garen Berberyan that he would process my NSF refund but it took over 55 mins while he left for his lunch break. Nobody came over to me to assist me within the time he was gone. The receptionist then told me that she would call me back the next day. I was tossed around from person to person, that’s poor service.

Total bs about “service excellence” and “we are committed to excellent service. ”
Clearly, this bank doesn’t value my time so I assume they don’t value my money.

Another time, a teller moved money from one account to another without permission for financial gain.

Thirdly, my account won’t let me do online purchases or use Uber/Lyft anymore with a visa debit which is accepted by all of those companies. The teller, Nirali simply said that “is there something wrong with the card, it should work? ” Well no, it doesn’t and i’m not surprised but the half response either. She didn’t investigate the problem.

I’m losing my patience with this bank.
Mark my words, I wouldn’t be surprised if I move to another reliable bank like TD or KOHO.

Worst bank ever. Dont bank with Scotiabank. I have visited the bank thrice in different cities to close the account and still waiting to close my accounts. You need to go to your home branch for withdraw of your TFSA account but you can deposit from any where. Shaping TFSA closure towards transfers so that Scotiabank can charge transfer fees.
Teller mentioned me to transfer the funds to my non-scotiabank account and when I do they tell me they cant close today only to charge me maintenance (service charge for the month for not maintaining balance in account). This is GREAT SERVICE.
Have advised all my friends and family to close accounts with Scotiabank. This is worse than any developing country banking system.

READERS be careful with this bank.

I am new to Canada recently moved from USA and was looking to open an account and get a credit card, I called the customer service to get an appointment on Saturday for the sameday and she (laura) was very nice and then she said I can see there is one appointment but she is not able to make me booked. She asked me to go to the branch and see if you can get the appointment and if you are unable to then a universal agent name katheleen (I am not sure about the spelling) will be available and she will open an account for the walk-in. I asked her again bcoz I need to arrange a ride and she said that she id very positive that I will be able to open an account. When I reached there, the reception girl said there is no appointment and I said that is fine and asked about the universal agent and the answer was she is on lunch until 3: 15 pm and will not be able to open an account. I explained all the situation and she was not even concerned about my situation. You guys kidding.if you are really not on same page how each person schedules and doesn’t want me as your customer then say it upfront and don’t make our life more difficult by wasting our time and money.

Extremely disappointed with their first impression on me.

Called Scotia to find out about buying forgein currency. Was told I have to go to branch before they close at 7PM so I did just to find out I have to show up before 5PM or they cant order it. Why have a bank open till 7 when you cant offer all services and cant even inform properly over the phone.

Pour management & employees full of bad attitude
Today Monday they had schedule just 2 cashiers by 9: 30am and the line up of 17 people was an overwhelming waiting.
The cashier Ali aquil needs to work on his attitude and definitely to be retrain since It took him one hour to provided me of a cashier cheque.
I would avoid this branch
The bad reviews say it all!
