Zero service, financial advisers have zero clue how to advise. Better find another branch to save your sanity

For me the first time i visit Scotiabank, i went with my friend (she is senior and new comer), i want to thanks MARY CORIC, because her services so professional, kind and very passionate with my friend and explained all the steps to us and helping us how to write the money check, the other person i want to thanks KASIA, she nice too and helping us to open US dollar account
In that day I’m start thinking to move my account and start with scotiabank, i hope all the banks will be the same like them
Thanks TINA KURDI to giving us best customer services ever with your team and i loved how to think in different ways to help other by sealing books, candies and water?

Teller Yaman has no idea what she’s doing. Couldn’t even do a cash deposit properly. Just stay away from this branch

Satisfied with the branch's efficient handling of my money transfer request. There is a vast scope of improvement for bank policies though.

The customer Service is really bad, made wait for 2 weeks just to tell me I needed other documents what a waste of time, they could have said it from the beginning.

Went to report a fraud in my account and this lady told me to go all the way to Scarborough because that's where my account was opened. (which was not necessary and i later found out after i went there)

she also laughed at my loss and had no empathy.

Very clean snd spacious branch with very courteous staff. Scotia banks working hours are much shorter if compared with TD.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! By far worst customer service by a "financial advisor. " I went in to try to get some concrete information on what type of account I had opened 4 months prior to actually transfering all of my money to it. The teller I got was very nice and helpful. He thought that letting me talk to an advisor would be better but little did we both know that the advisor he suggested was going to be so useless and unhelpful. He didn't even bother taking me into a room so that we could speak privately just asked what I wanted ans repeated the name of the account I opened. I can read and know I had opened a "preferred package" but I to this day want more information which I have not been able to get. 15 years ago when I opened my first bank account as a STUDENT TD gave me a paper trail of what type of account I was getting and made it incredibly easy to understand. They were so helpul and appreciative to gain a new client. Unfortunately I cannot say the same for Scotiabank. I left so disappointed and irritated that I had closed my TD bank account which I had for 15 years to move to a bank that could not even be bothered to take 10 minutes to give me some details about my new account. I called in to complain about the terrible service and I got an even more useless representative on the phone. I regret the day I switched banks. Honestly I would rather go through the trouble of changing my banking information again than to stay with a company that does not value new customers or take the time to properly train their employees on good customer service.

My bank card expired at the time all my id were in the mail. Both the teller as well as her manager went above and beyond helping me get all the documents needed to obtain and activate a new card. It took 2 seperat visit to accomplish my mission but i was happy it was done and did not feel embarrassed as I was treated with kindness. Anyone in a sticky situation needs to be calm no matter how frustrating it may be or actually feel.

Very rude! I got a service from a CSR who’s sitting at the end (wavy hair in a ponytail) during lunch break on Jan 9. Came there to simply change the plan, it took a few mins, and now I’m feeling very upset & unpleasant. Hard to explain cos this is subtle. Unlike TD at Sq1, courtesy is completely missing. Pls train CSR!

Horrible experience here, 8th time visiting to resolve an issue, and on this particular visit, the guy helping is preferring to flirt with his female co-worker while I sit and wait, in earshot of their conversation. Honestly never experienced this level of disregard from any other bank.

I had to visit the branch twice just for opening bank account and follow up multiple times to know the status of credit card application. The staff was friendly but poorly trained and unobservant. He made quite a few minor data entry errors in my application and I had to point him out his errors. Totally clumsy banking experience.

Worst banking support ever. Tellers in this bank are completely useless - they will ignore you, provide incorrect information and lie. There is no way to force them to solve your problem.

Very poor customer service and management assistance. Never coming back to this branch again! Doeso not even deserve 1 star!

I am new to Canada & opened my 1st bank account with this branch. 1st they refused to register my new address & registered my old address with the account. They said if I have to update the new address, I have to update it later by myself.

The most important part they asked me for the delivery of my Credit Card, I told them in such a loud & clear voice that I WANT TO COLLECT IT FROM THE BANK & I DO NOT want it to be mailed on my address. God knows why but they still sent the card to the address that I dont live anymore even after successfully updating my new address. & What's the Cherry on top? They didn't even bother to call me & at least let me know that they have mailed it to my address & I should not keep them calling & mailing them again & again to ask about the arrival of my credit card. Kudos.
Good thing is that the Behaviour of the customer relation guys wasn't rude at all. I believe they themselves are kept ignorant about the facts.

Very Weird that I was told by one of the women who work at the front desk that she couldn't temporarily increase by e-transfer limit, but when I called scotia, someone was able to do that for me with no problem.

I was making a cash deposit at one of their ATMs yesterday. Their machines are the non-envelope types which unfortunately on this occasion couldn't deposit my cash, nor could it return the cash I tried to deposit. This experience was frustrating as I had an appointment to make and the delay in their assistance was tragically slow. I was only able to get my cash returned to me the following day as they were about to close, and even then, the impression they gave off was a lack of concern and a lack of initiative. Disappointing to say the least.

Ahmed is not very good person to deal with. I can’t believe scotia bank stoops so low to find sketchy employees.

Worst branch. Staff are not knowledgeable, they always give false information and don't know what they are doing.

Unprofessional staff (only one in particular), they don't know what customer service is. As I observe how the tellers are - Specifically a teller name Samra. I was inconvenienced by her lack of experience, not only that - she had a terrible attitude. Made me feel uncomfortable for a simple visit. I have always had a pleasant time with this location, but because of this teller I am not revisiting. Now, I am not the type to write reviews but YES it was THAT bad of an experience, I had to waste 5 mins of my day to voice this, I hope management can teach her some good manners.

Really bad and unprofessional service, yesterday on July 03. I was depositing 120$ in the abm. I had my 50$ bill stuck in machine and machine took it inside. I ran to the bank for help, it was closed though. I knocked their door. They said it was closed and when I asked them that i need help with the abm they just said wait for an half an hour or come some other day. When half hour was over I knocked the door again. It was clear that they were sitting in front of the door but they didn’t came for help. So unprofessional behaviour was that they didn’t asked me for seat i had to wait more outside for 45 minuets more. I don’t know why you guys hire hire unprofessional and rude people who ignore and disrespect their customers. They aren’t really helpful.

When the bank employees where going home one employee asked me to put my rest of 70$ in envelope and to deposit it, and she asked me to put 120$ on the machine. She said this is how I will get my 50$ back. Yes I got 120$ deposit instany, but today I saw the correction from bank deducting 50$ from account. I just want my 50$ bank if don’t get back. Am just gonna close my account. And I will tell all my friends to do the same.

Great moment of truth provided by Mr. Bala Murugan. I arrived at 4: 05 pm just after the bank had shut on wednesday. He saw me looking worried outside the closed doors and immediately walked all the way up. He not only went beyond his call of duty but patiently addressed all my queries through the closed door. He absolutely gets what customer service is. Well done on a great hire.

Thank you for the delightful moment of truth Scotiabank and thanks to him I was able to address an urgent query from my aged parents back home.

The manager Phyllis, didn’t even want to speak to me. When I asked if I could speak with her instead of talking to her though a teller from the back office, she looked annoyed. She finally came out and just flatly said “I’m not releasing more than 200$ of your cheque. “ No INTRODUCTION. NO explanation, no questions or resolutions, except when I ASKED how I can raise my cash back amount and she replied, by applying for a credit card. What happens if I get rejected, take a ding on my credit because this manager is telling me I need to, just to get MY regular pay cheque released! I have no issues on my account and it’s a regular cheque, I receive every 2 weeks. I always deposit my cheque with no issues and less holds, or NO holds, until this day. I don’t even know if she was the manager, because she didn’t introduce herself or say her title.

On top of everything, she told me to keep going to another location. She basically told me to change my home branch location. No sorry, no explanation, or anything. I got better service and explanation from the TELLERS.

The worst is, it was my birthday 2 days before and earlier in the week I got into a car accident. I need to pay my deductible, pay for a rental next week to get to work, and wanted to get myself a small birthday gift and enjoy the long weekend. But I can’t, because I won’t have my funds released until the 28th, and I received my pay cheque on the 18th. Just horrible service. Phyllis should not be a manager, she needs serious training on how to talk to customers.

Anastasi probably saves your whole location anytime there’s an issue. He’s always way more helpful, and has better service than your managers.
