So, I pay 16.95 a month for my bank account, and am unable to access the ATM at 7: 30pm on a Friday night because you lock the doors? If you want to lock the doors, fine, then provide an ATM on the outside… also, Not to mention, not the greatest customer service here. DO NOT USE this Scotiabank, always hour long line ups when they are open.

Would give zero stars, if possible

Despite having your own money into account they are having such a ridiculous policy that we r only allowed to pull $2500 at a time

When you guys were offering us to open an account with you (your team must need to inform these all unnecessary policies)

I went to scotia bank and helped by charming girl RAJVEER KAUR
she helped me alot and educate me about all account settings and also did all setups of my account. She is very informative about her work. She knows very well how to treat her customer and make comfortable. As am new to canada so I was worried about bank details and all that stuff. She cleared my all doubts very nicely. The most pretty girl I ever met.

I went to Scotia Bank today and was helped by Muskaan. She went above and beyond in helping me and was very informative. She took her time to educate me and make sure all my accounts were set up. I really appreciate Muskaans great work ethic and hope to work with her again soon.

This bank service is ridiculous. I’m there customer from last 6 years and now I’ll close my account. I called them many time email there financial advisors they didn’t ping me back. I want my account summary which take just 5 minutes as I’m overseas now and I need that urgently I’m calling them from last 2 weeks and they are saying we cannot send you email bcz there is glitch so it’s my fault I mean seriously send me from your mangers or advisor email right I’m your customer this is totally I don’t even want to give 1 star to this branch but one have to do bcz otherwise oh my god I’m frustrated seriously you guys are doing nothing

Please don’t come to this branch even the lady manager doesn’t act like a professional, she acts like a newbie, no professionalism and manners at all. Just went there to get a replacement card but they refused to provide it by saying they need the Indian passport that’s on the file, while I don’t even have that anymore. Refused to accept Canadian ID’s. I hope Scotia bank checks their level of attitude towards their customers and provide them proper training before promoting them.

This is the worst Scotiabank branch in Ontario. ATM machines are always "temporarily out of service", and even when they are operational, they either don't have printing paper, or they cannot take your deposit cheque, or, they will "swallow" your bank card and crush it into pieces before bank opening, or after hours, so that you have to come back to the bank when they open. The ATM machines should be regularly maintained for proper functioning, and that's not a case here. The lines in this bank are always long, proving how "skilled and efficient" the staff are. I give zero star to this branch and suggest complete overhaul of the equipment and the employees.

Scotia bank is the worst bank.some branches charged for statements from international students.as a international student don’t use this bank. This bank takes 3 to 4 to update your account and then because of bank mistakes you have to pay over limits fees and when you are trying pay online bills, on websites its showing your payment is accepted and at the end your bill was not paid and you have to pay the fine.customer care service is worst.so don’t use this faurd bank.

Worst experience in Ray Lawson and Hurontario street Scotiabank branch. There front didn’t what information is provided to their customer. In first time visit the want something than later say they want more proofs.they don’t know how to deal with customers. They are full with ego. Even they did mistake they can not say sorry for their mistake. It is too bad to deal with their front desk Indian girls.

I went for a bank statement to get printed with seal. They said they won't seal it and without seal it's gonna charge 5 dollar for per paper. I went to a branch in Markham. They did it for free. Never recommend this location.

We wanted to have bank balance certificate! Since when you guys started charging $15 for a balance certificate? You don’t have right to ask us for what purpose we are taking bank balance certificate! Its our account, we can do whatever we want to do! The moment we said, we are looking for that certificate for parents immigration purpose, the rude lady “Rajveer” said we have to pay $15 as immigration is not accepting regular balance certificate! Wow, I mean I’ve got same for 3 times for immigration purpose only! Nobody charged us. Looks like its just this location! She said, its like that since long time. That’s not true. We got our BBC 3 months ago & nobody asked us to pay. That too was for US immigration purpose. A review is not going make any difference to the employee, but I’m not going there again.

Brown Girls in there don’t really try to help customers. Girl who was helping me in red top and black jeans.really didn’t know what she was doin.she went to her supervisor.and the supervisor told her to tell me it’ll take 10 days for payment to return without even looking at it … and then after me explaining 10 time finally supervisor pulled up the information and told me what I wanted to know and after that it was 3 days.it was my worst experience in scotia.changing bank soon

Usman Aslam, spoke very rude with us. I cried over there, He doesn’t not how to close Tfsa account. We are coming here again and again but still he is saying it is not closed. Really terrible customer service
Not even worthy of one star
The woman (at front on July-23-22) had the worst attitude and was quite disrespectful.
It appeared as though she was frustrated with her life and was displaying that to clients at work.

She refused to print a bank statement, but I was able to complete my task at another location that same day in about ten minutes

The teller was not knowledgeable, rude and unwelcoming. I booked an appointment for 11 am and they said the appointment was not on the system. They still couldn’t find someone to help and didn’t even try to assist. They watched business leave their branch and did not care. Having people like this represent a bank is a poor choice.

This place is always packed no matter what day ad what time you go there. Do go for day -to - day tasks. But, if you need the correct guidance use another location. They are just good to open FRESH accounts for students (even in that they have no obligation to let the new comer know what are the services they provide).

Very slow service. People have to lineup and wait for more than half an hour outside in the cold to see the teller inside. And 90% of times the machines have disabled envelope-free deposit feature. Not good at all!

Disgusting, they close at 5 pm and i was there at 4.52, i just had to deposit a cheque, but when i was there they had already closed the door. How can they do that, i mean why do they say they close at 5 when they leave their offices at 4: 40-45.i wish i could rate on negative scale.

Worst ever service. Teller doesn’t know what to answer. I went there for my regular service, teller did had any clue what she was doing asked her to ask manager if she couldn’t do. Instead of asking help she offer me to go different branch and thanks. Before i could say anything she started saying thanks. That was really rude. I would suggest not to ever go for banking with scotia. Not only on this branch but any branch. They don’t train there tellers properly.

I went for the first time to get my debit card, I had opened an online account. The process was quick and my account and debit card got activated on the same day. The staffs are very polite and answered all my questions.

This is the worst sotia branch ever, messed up my DD 4 times and was still incorrect. My mistake I didn't check the 5th time.

Please, if you are dealing with bigger amount go to some other branch. I think they hired all irresponsible employees at same branch. Especially, when they customer service manager is like Gillian.

Very bad customer service, the young lady sitting on middle chair who was customer service representative was very rude, she didn’t gave me any solution for my problem and she was full of attitude, we are international students and why are u showing attitude to us if you don’t know what is customer service and how to treat people then you don’t deserve this position at all, but the manager is very kind to all and after a year ago there was two punjabi customer service representatives, they were excellent, very nice. I had great experience with them.

Lady on the right most lower desk (not the tellers) doesn't know how to speak with the customers. Hard to understand who appointed her to serve on the front desk and for the public dealing. Very rude and full of attitude.

They don’t even deserve single star. The worst bank ever. They booked an appointment for me to increase my credit limit from 500 to 1000. When I went there the lady start making excuses that students can’t get credit more than that. I have a question that what was the purpose of booking an appointment for that?
And yes we earn enough to pay our credits. Some things are only possible with credits so you should understand such situations. It’s my bad to bank with such useless branch.
Firstly clear yourself that what is the meaning of appointments.

Worst experience ever. Scotiabank doesn’t even deserve 1 star. My cousin came from India just two weeks ago. She is an international student. She booked an appointment to activate her account. The guy who was on call appoint her on September 7 @11: 00am. She told him it’s labour day on Monday (September 7). He replied, “Don’t worry, bank will be open”. She went there @10: 30 and wait over there about an hour. Then she called Scotiabank and they said sorry we are close because of holiday. Then they told her to reschedule her appointment. Are you guys mad?

Opened account in June and am closing my account because my preauthorised payments got bounced due to wrong address put in the address by the tellers. Customer service and branch have a major sync problem. When enquired what they would do to help they wouldn't agree that it was their mistake and very rude, hopeless as well as helpless they don't even know how to deal with the customers or retain them. This branch does not know how to solve any issues. Regretting to have even wasted my time trying to open my account in Scotiabank. If this is the way they are dealing with customers I would not hesitate to say that customers will opt for other banks.

Update Dec 2019: I've since met with other advisors, and there seems to be better luck with the newer ones. There are two female advisors that seemed very knowledgeable and willing to be proactive in making an effort. Overall, there are some problems at this branch, ymmv.

Inadequate competency.

There seems to be a heavy lack of effort to communicate with clients as well as a focus on getting commissions.

I've gone in for some advice and have seen two advisors. Although the first advisor I struggled to get an update from for 3 days, the second one was at least responsive. The second advisor was a senior advisor and yet there was nothing fruitful from those conversations.

There also seems to be quite a few reviews here along the same lines of communication and service.

If you want to get basic banking done, it's an adequate location.
If you want a mortgage or line of credit, I would recommend finding a branch that had better reviews on communication and customer service.

I think he never shows up in the branch, who the hell made him the manager? I had to pay the bills and they put my account on hold, u fuckers how is one suppose to pay their bills? !
