I came to open up a Chequing Account and I am very disappointed with the service I have received from a specific individual. She was asking me for very unnecessary information and I felt very violated. For instincts she asked me who was I texting on my phone and this was after completely making my Account, this is completely unacceptable and unprofessional and I felt very racially profiled.

If you're looking for customer service help with anything you might as well call the 1-800 number and not bother driving here, they'll just tell you to "read the fine print, everything is there". Yeah, called actual customer service and was given the right advice in about 2 minutes lol

Beware of ordering cheques through this branch. Never got mine and then had to file a complaint against the male branch manager to be refunded my money. Over all, Scotiabank is a great bank, but, some of their employees do leave a lot to be desired!

Am using scotiabank from 6 years. I have my car loan, insurance bank account all the products from them. I came for mortgage and they kind of forcing me to buy more products like credit card, over draft balance etc. They gave me the lowest mortgage amount and high interest rate.if they want to do sales they will call and harassed you.if you want the service they will ignore you. I will closed my account and move to other banks.please visit some other branch or move to other banks like Rbc or TD.worst branch of scotiabank to visit. Please teach basics of customer service.dont come to this branch

Terrible service long waits. Only 2 tellers even at peak times. People waiting in chairs. Came back twice. Still only 2 tellers. Manager interested in getting office furniture arranged. Just terrible terrible service….

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Booked an appointment with them online. They assigned me to a mortgage broker that is currently no longer at the location. I asked to see another mortgage broker and they said the only other mortgage broker is going on their lunch break and won’t be back for at least 30 minutes. Funny enough, this is not the first time they have done this. I have booked appointments with them in the past and the appointed representative is not in the branch at the time for the appointment. After wasting 30 minutes of my time waiting around to see if they can find anyone they said the earliest time they could get me in was the following week. Very incompetent and unorganized company. Not just this branch but I’ve yet to have one good experience with this bank. I can give you an entire laundry list of things they have screwed up on. I will be closing all my accounts with them and will NEVER recommend anyone to do business with them again. Use any other bank - only good experiences at TD and BMO. I do feel bad for their tellers. They are just trying to do their job but you can tell they get a lot of complaints. Save yourself the trouble and STAY FAR FAR FAR AWAY.

I am very impressed with Linda Zhang’s professionalism and courtesy. She has a super busy schedule, but she NEVER rushed me. She is a great mentor when it comes to reviewing my finances. She takes care of my pressing concern, investigates the problem, and works with me to find a resolution. Linda has always stayed on top of big, important matters and she deserves all five stars.

Horrible service with the managers. They claim to have so much work that needs to be taken care of with folders of people's accounts yet they never answer any calls or take immediate action to any issues given. The branch itself almost NEVER answers any calls and the managers never get back to you with an update as they say they will. Very disappointed and one of the worse branches I have ever been to. I traveled back and forth personally myself to deal with an issue 5x from a different city and still waiting as I type.practically gave up at this point.

This is the worst scotiabank I've ever been too. Every time I come to withdraw funds the machines are down. And mind you I've come numerous times, and each time it's the same problem.

This is by far the worst branch and worst bank. The branch manager, Pamala is NEVER willing to help or answer any questions. I have left her multiple voicemails over the past 2 weeks and I have no heard from from her. I was supposed to receive a wire transfer over week ago and I still have no idea where my money is. I called Scotia helpline, no one sees the funds on their end - I walked in to a branch near by, they don’t see the funds on their end either. I was advised to speak to my home branch manager - but it seems like it’s impossible to reach her. It will be an hour drive for me to get to the heartland location and by the time I finish work the beach is already closed.

I would never recommend Soctia, specifically this branch to anyone. Your bank is supposed to help make life a little easier, you shouldn’t have to run after your bank for YOUR OWN money. Stay clear and find yourself another bank

Kalpana and Pamela have been extremely supportive during a very difficult time for me. Even though this is a busy and difficult
Time for so many people they have gone above and beyond to try and get me what I need on a priority basis. Not sure why there are so many bad reviews but it has not been the case for me. Everyone has a bad day here and there but give them a second chance if you had a bad experience. They are knowledgeable and considerate of circumstances.

Seem like there's no surprise on how bad management is at this location. A complete pompous, arrogant and condescending white manager, a KAREN, as racist as they come. First look at me and I realized she didn't want to do anything for me.a latino male. Of course everybody of colour has already left a negative review. Need i say more.

Come here to do my banking since it is a local branch. However the machine sometimes rejects bills and gives me a hard time. I would reccomend just depositing cash with the bank tellers as they don’t give you a hard time like the machines

I always dread coming this location. Tellers a ridiculously slow. My entire lunch is spent waiting to withdraw some cash. Location is close to Home and I’m looking for a large amount. Try placing an order through the phone and email but didn’t get a reply.

3rd World service at it's worst!
The bank machine is always broken, and steals money. I went to deposit $1,000 for my credit card payment and the receipt came out as $0 paid. If I went to the customer service rep and explained what had just happened and she said that this machine is always having issues all the time it's always stuck, just wait 24 hours and your money will appear. It's been over a week and the deposit has not shown up I called my credit card they have not received $1,000 so the machine stole my money. So I contacted the Scotiabank Ombudsman and waiting for an investigation into this. It's happened several times before but this time my money dissapeared. I'm so fed up eith this location. The Streetsville Scotiabank is great, never any issues. Just this Heartland location is horrible, the staff is rude and doesn't care about anything, unhelpful very 3rd world service.

I had the worst experience here. I wanted to open a new bank account and I'm a high school student. The only time I could go was during my lunch period. I booked an appointment at 11: 15 am. I got there at 11: 13. It was a little close but I assumed it would be fine. I was told to wait. I ended up waiting for 50 minutes before I got up to leave. The receptionist got mad at my dad for being upset about the situation and rolled her eyes at him. She then told me to wait and that she'll go check on my advisor. I waited another ten minutes before the advisor finally came out and we sat down. Her excuse was that her previous client came in late. I told her they could've rescheduled or at least have let me know. She told me that it would take an hour to make my account, but I had class at 12: 30. I told her I couldn't anymore and she suggested I reschedule. I went to the desk and asked to reschedule and the receptionist told me they had no appointments for over a week. This was a complete waste of time and gas. Don't go here. They don't value your time. I do like Scotia so I suggest going to another branch.

DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT, do business with this branch. The lack of customer service is mind boggling. Typically, when manager intervention is required due to poor customer service, you can expect contact within 24 to 48 hours. Not this branch. They broke the mold. I have now been waiting almost 2.5 months! My representative, Anuradha, has ignored all of my request to speak to a manager. I even sent her a plain email, indicating that if she is refusing to allow me to speak to her manager I needed her to respond to my email indicating as such. Since that email, she has decided to ignore me. It's incredible that such a large financial institution can bully their customers, and I have little to no recourse. Again, save yourself a headache, go elsewhere.

Staff is very friendly never had an issue with the branch myself. I laugh at these comments about waiting outside while it’s Covid it’s just what needs to be done with capacity but they don’t understand. Keep up the work

Beyond pathetic service by the manager Kassandra. It took her over 40 mins to grab me euros from the vault. After waiting for 40 mins, she had the audacity to come to me and tell me they didn’t have any smaller bills in euro. I mean why couldn’t you check the system to see what you had or not! If it’s not in the system, it would be written on their ledger they have on their desk each morning when they open. Such a waste of time!

Pathetic customer service! Not sure if it is like this in all the scotia Branch. Have been customer for 16 years with this branch and everytime I get worst experience. Got the call from manager (Pamela) and rather than focusing on issue was trying to sell another product to me.

Unable to withdraw funds from this specific branch for MONTHS now. Called customer service and they told me "the bank has no cash". Losing trust in these guys when it comes to dealing with my money as most of the representatives I've delt with in person & on the phone are uneducated on what services they provide their customers. They are extremely unreliable when comes to doing my banking. I'm annoyed at this point. I shouldn't have to go through 10 different agents to get 1 task done. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULUS!

Unable to withdraw my own cash during emergency. The bank set a limit and asked that I set up an order for values beyond the limit (2 days after). When I arrived at the bank 2 days after, it was closed. So frustrating.
This is NOT the case with the adjacent CIBC bank that saved my day

Came in for a mortgage consultation appointment scotia bank was last on the list and was highly recommended by a friend but was warned about their service.
Silvia was a few min late for the appointment and she came out to get me as soon as she got in her office which was nice. From there on, the meeting lasted about 6 minutes! There was no customer service element to this meeting at all. All I got from her was a “what do you want? ” Kinda feeling. I walked out with little information as she urged that I had to do a full application to get the exact figures (which I wasn’t looking for exacts) She didn’t ask for anything like my income, debts, if I currently have a mortgage. It was nothing like any of my meetings with the other banks where the meetings went for at least 40 min and I got the feeling of comfort to bank with them.
All I got from this was she didn’t have any interest.

Lady at the teller desk completely gave me the wrong information, claiming I needed a debit account to access my priority pass when I already had a passport visa. When I tried to clarify, she told me I was wrong yet when I called the Visa company after, they quickly helped me out to receive the pass. TRAIN YOUR STAFF BETTER!

Absolutely terrible to deal with, cannot reach anyone over the phone, leave a message, the call is returned just before 4: 00, you're told nothing can be done because the branch closes at 4: 00, what bank closes at 4: 00 anymore, before the end of the business day? Seriously? Just terrible.

Very disorganized brach. Everyone gives different answers. We had appointment at 11am today and we reached 10 mins late for which we had to wait another 20 mins. Which I understand. And then they come up and say oh so your appointment was actually at 12. We showed our appointment confirmation email which clearly states 11am with Anna.
You guys need to be more organized and professional no one has spare time to come and sit at your brach.
No wonder why it has so low rating.

We just started banking with Scotiabank a week ago and Sana has already completely ruined the experience. Since I’m a wife with no income, I have no right or access to any of my husband’s products with Scotiabank, apparently. When Sana couldn’t figure out how to explain the terms of our (my husband’s) products, she went and found some rude lady to come in and yell at us for not understanding. They didn’t call when our credit cards came in. The manager won’t answer the phone or call me back. Horrible, horrible experience and I hope I never have to be back.

This is my favourite branch. Im greeted like close frie d/family. I was just there this morning. Hailey helped me and was AWESOME! As always. My mortgage is here. All my banking is done here. Love this branch.

Do not recommend banking here at all, the only thing good there is the ATM.

I have been a customer with scotiabank ever since I've opened a bank account, but left last year once they did not inform me AT ALL when and why I was being charged a monthly fee when I was on a student account. I did not get an email notification, or anything when it happened or how to stop it either. When I went to close my account, the teller in a very condescending way told me "oh you should have just told us instead of closing" - but how was I supposed to know if I was never informed?

However, today I went back to try and open a new bank account, and I experienced the worst customer service I've ever experienced at a Scotiabank. I was not acknowledged at all by the front desk person until I said "hello, I'd like to open an account. " I had everything ready to open my account, ID, student ID, passport and proof of enrolment at school, but was turned away by the front desk for not having "proof of address". I'm unsure when licenses and passports became void of their purpose of "proof of address. " I explained to the front desk that the past 3 times I've come in to make an account I have never had a problem with my proof of address with my passport and drivers license. When I was being told I needed a "proof of address, " I didn't hear the words "sorry we can't take you, if you bring it next time I can help you, " I just heard "I need to see your proof of address. " I had been turned away 2 weeks prior as well when I tried to open a student account back then because although I had full access to my student center online and my date of graduation occurring during the next academic year posted, I did not have my courses picked for the school year (school hasn't opened course registration yet, what can I do?), and thus, would not be approved for a student account for the next academic year.

Overall I just thought that there was bad customer service, not accommodating, not helpful and not welcoming at all.

Among the two worst Scotia Bank Branches I have experienced. I have been a customer of Scotia Bank for over 28 years (since 1990). Yet, the dismal service at this branch and another branch in Brampton, forced me to open an account in another bank. The manager does not respond to any queries. One of the branch's manager accepted my relatives request to appoint me as the POA several months back. This person made all of us sign several papers around August 2019, and informed us that everything was set up. Later when I approached them they said there is no response as yet and they will get back in 3- 4 weeks. It is almost 6 months now since they are supposed to get back to me on my appointment as the POA for one of my relatives. Whenever I ask the branch I get a standard "we do not know".

This branch is okay for basic deposits, withdrawals, and bill payments, but anything beyond that is a waste of time. The teller staff are very friendly, but any more complex transaction like a money transfer, currency conversion, or creating a more advanced account type (like a trust account) will usually result in some incompetent from the back office to make an appearance, and that staff is usually quite arrogant. The assistant manager Pamela is one particular arrogant nuisance, and when she gets involved usually nothing gets done or will result in some error. For more complex banking, it's best to go elsewhere.

1/5. Information/Check-in desk could've been more helpful/receptive. They did accomodate my walk-in request. Otherwise, poor customer service received. Financial Advisor Linda Zhang was pleasant to deal with but had difficulty answering questions. She requested the assistance of an "Assistant Manager" by the name of Jeremy Espenes - what a mistake. Rude, arrogant, poor choice of words. I decided to leave without moving forward.

Walked in today and wanted to open a TFSA. The financial advisor there asked for some information like my occupation and job title. I gladly gave that information. She proceeded to ask questions like how much money I make? I was completely shocked and flabbergasted by her question. My wife who was with me asked her how is this question remotely related to opening a tfsa, as long as I know what my limits are. She started telling us it's the company's policy to know how much we make. I told her its enough for the CRA to know what I make and this question is completely different because it's not an rrsp I'm opening. I wanted to let your representative know that there is no declaration from the OBSI that states that the bank should know how much an individual makes. Please train your representatives before making such statements and then try to justify their callousness in saying Scotiabank requires this information. Am going to be formally filing a complaint against your representative.
