Tried to withdrawal 100$ from the atm the machine only gave me one 50 dollar bill the lady at the counter was very rude made me wait literally 2 minutes because it wasnt her start time but sat in front of me talking to her coworkers after this they told me that they could not help me with a dispute against the atm and gave me a number to call but the people at their clames dept are telling me I need to wait at least 3 days before filing a claim I've been banking with Scotia since I was a child well over 10 years maybe even close too 20 and I've never made any claims against them and definitely did not expect to be treated this way the first time after this is sorted out I will definitely be finding another bank

UPDATE after about a week and a half I did end up having the money reimbursed still a frustrating experience luckily I wasnt in a position where the money was desperately needed but this could have lead to major issues for somone who needs that money for rent car payments ect

Worse bank ever, they will treat you like garbage if you’re young and they won’t cash your cheque from the government that states you’re able to cash it at any bank in Canada with no bank account needed. The karen at the teller refused to cash my government cheque even though it says you’re allowed to but she didn’t want to for some reason. I do not recommend this bank at all. Karens think they’re better than everyone else.

I don’t recommend this bank unless you want to get treated like you’re nothing, the tellers there have an attitude and are rude for no reason. Had to go to the bank to cash something in but I didn’t have an account with them but on the paper it states that I can cash it anywhere at any bank in Canada and the Karen at the front said that she can’t cash my cheque in and I need to go to my bank but the bank was closer and just needed to cash my government cheque in, I told her that I am able to cash it here as it states on the back of the cheque and she said that no I can’t cash it you have to go to your bank to cash it in even though I didn’t have to but she was just being rude and uptight for no reason at all. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this bank as all the tellers are grumpy old Karen’s who hate their life.

Very bad experience every time I have to visit this branch nothing but stuck up Karen’s that think they are better than everyone working. They should be educated on how to treat people I know I’m not the only one to have problems with them anyone I take to has the same problem. Time to hire some young talent and drop the bad for business disrespectful old lady’s

This branch is closest to me but I will be doing the extra drive to the branch downtown from now on nothing but problems with the workers at this branch they talk down to you smirk at there coworkers and just condescending in general. If you want service from old lady’s that hate there job I guess this is the place to go. Completely unprofessional and immature scotia bank clearly needs a new hiring process. A teller should be understanding and happy or be there not like they are miserable to be there

Tellers at this bank should be trained better they refuse cashing government cheques and say you need a bank account Evan though it states you need no account and can cash at any bank in Canada on the back. Do not suggest doing your banking here if they can mess something so simple up

Just a bunch of miserable old ladies, who hate their job and act like they're better than everyone.

My father wanted to close his account where he didn't know he had a balance owing (monthly fees for his account being open), so he told the lady he would pay. My dad got out his debit card to pay.

Instead of using her words, the lady pointed at the ATM. Mind you she was already giving us rude looks like we had two heads, and smirking at other ladies behind the counter.

At this point we just said we would go somewhere else and took our stuff.

I took both my father and myself to the Hamilton branch instead, were they offered a actual solution to our problem, And didn't laugh at us when we asked if their was a solution. They also waived our fees because the account was open for three months.

I would highly suggest on getting some fresh, not miserable faces. Maybe a course on respect.
